Welcome to the discussion thread! Off-topic chatter, and particularly notice about absences and delays, goes here.

I'm aware of the fact that at least 3 of the players share a Discord channel, but I ask that you include your co-players on any discussions relevant to this game here on the thread. If it becomes clear that's not workable, we can make a Discord channel for the whole group to use.

While I get the starting post prepared and we have the final player confirm their position, I encourage you all to introduce yourselves and work on characters together. Your characters as posted on the thread don't need to be set in stone - for example, this is an excellent opportunity to shore up any skill shortages. I also encourage you to work together to intertwine your backstories, at least to the extent of determining why you decided to make this journey together. I'm available to provide guidance on background weaving, and will definitely be reading anything you post in here.

To start off the introductions, you can call me Gark, GM, Coelocanth, Fish, or anything else that suits your fancy and is obviously referring to me. I use male pronouns (he/him), and it's my birthday today! I'll be playing most of the NPCs.

I suppose I should outline some of Khaan's strengths. Since she is a 6/9th caster with wizard spells, she has access to a lot of versatile day-to-day power. As a rogue, she fills in a lot of skill needs but particularly she is quite good at dealing with magical problems and knowledge. Unlike some rogues, she can actually discover an Alarm spell before they trigger it. And, thanks to free Weapon Finesse, she can be an okay combatant so long as she has mage armor up.

Now, she isn't the best at any of these things, but she is OKAY. The thing with Eldritch Scoundrels is that they're very good all-rounders. So they tend to compliment other players rather than be their own powerhouses. So with that said, are there any other spellcasters in the party? Maybe even arcane spellcasters? If so it would be a good idea to work with me to ensure we can cover plenty of ground for our spells, since most of what I want to do is fill in utility needs.

Also don't let Khaan speak to people who need to be diplo'd. That....would be a mistake. She has 6 Charisma.

As for me personally, I'm Anne, I prefer she/her and I'm like, kinda too knowledgeable about this game so like if you want some help with characters I'm free for PM's or something.

My character, Lyra, is more or less a support character, or at least I've given her abilities that let her function in that role. All of her first level spells can be used to help other people in the party, especially Mage Armor and Cure Light Wounds. She can also use Heavenly Fire five times a day, which gives her a 30ft radius 1d4 healing ability, but only for good characters, which at least seems to be most of us? (It also does 1d4 damage against evil creatures, which is a neat bonus.) She's also got Bit of Luck, she can use once per day to let someone roll a d20 twice and take the higher result, and Karmic Blessing, which lets her temporarily turn someone's skill into a class skill.

As for actual combat abilities, she's mostly just got her crossbow, which at least lets her keep some distance between herself and enemies. Unerring Weapon will help with that, though, since the crossbow has a greater critical threat chance (19-20 instead of just 20) and that spell makes it easier to confirm a critical hit.

And since we're going to be traveling a lot, I gave her the trait Starchild, which basically makes her a living compass, and gives me a +4 bonus on rolls to avoid becoming lost.

Her stats are mostly pretty good, but she's pretty frail in terms of strength and constitution (and only has 5 health, and can't use physical armor) so she'll need to avoid getting hit too much.

I don't really know what Rivek's strengths or weaknesses are, since A) I'm having Coel do my sheet for me (what a swell guy!) and B) we just agreed today to switch to a different class (from psychic to bard) and change all their base stats accordingly. Which makes... three casters, so far. I also figured on being useful to the party by being the driver with the fancy Tesla.

I'm almost certainly going to have the highest charisma value in the party, but I can't really do the talking per se, on account of the character finds the mechanical act of speaking very difficult and always bungles it. I'll do my part to be the face, though. Although, again — literally no face. Astomoi, y'all. Astomoi.

Hello! Sorry for being late to the party, Internet problems. But since they have now been resolved, with out further to do lets get on to [url=http://paizo.com/people/RelysNyla]Relys[/Relys].

To first off mention her Strengths; despite being at a d8 hit die she is very tanky, with some minor damage output. But she also does have some utility purpose, she does have the ability to gain an on the spot fly speed and has a climb speed.

Now to her weakness; she is not the sharpest sword in the armory, and has an over necessary love of money.(even though she has very little use for it) but to also not forget to mention that a good portion of her abilities come from a very limited number of times per day that once gone, can leave her in a very unfavorable position.

I like Lyra's backstory, and the sheet format is very pretty! Some character generation notes:
  • You should have 2 extra background skill ranks.
  • You should have a +5 on Survival checks to avoid getting lost.
  • You should have 5 languages total - Orc, racial, and 3 bonus languages thanks to your +3 Intelligence modifier. You can choose those languages from Gnoll, Goblin, Halfling, Sylvan, or any cultural language.
  • I'm not quite seeing why you get a +6 on Diplomacy checks to gather information from Curiosity - isn't it +4? Also, you still get the +2 bonus on Knowledge (history) checks from Curiosity; it's worth listing so you don't forget when leveling up.
  • You may want to list your attack bonus with the crossbow - it's {dice}1d20+Base Attack Bonus+Dexterity bonus{/dice}, or +2 for Lyra.
  • Sterling only has 2 hp (5/2 rounded down).
  • Sterling should have a +4 Will, using Lyra's base save (+2) because it's higher, and adding his Wisdom modifier.
  • He should also have the same ranks as you in his skills, plus his one rank in Perception. Calculate them using his ability score modifiers and class skill list instead of yours, is all. (Fly is at +2 Dex, +4 size, for a total of +6. Perception should be +1 rank, +2 Wis, +3 Skill Focus (Perception), and +3 class skill, for a total of +9.)
  • Sterling's size is Tiny, rather than Small.
I like Sterling's backstory as well. This whole concept makes for interesting interactions between the idea of having a patron (witch stuff) and independent study (arcanist stuff). Do you want the source of your powers to be strictly study, though?

(more replies to other players later, perhaps today)

What's up y'all I'm Ivy Langley (aka ivylangley aka cpnasuka aka pissbabybrown) and I'm a really cool girl [she/her] who loves to fight. My character is named Frog and she's a really cool Anthropozoan girl Brawler (Wild Child) who loves to fight. My character sheet is here with some illustrations of her and her Axolotl familiar.

Since I haven't yet *exactly* pinned down her backstory- at least not in the google doc- the gist of it is that she's from Underwater Japan, which is where Anthropozoans or at least her ethnicity of Anthropozoans live. She wanted to be a cool Samurai-type mercenary, but she grew up very poor and has a lot of bad mannerisms that deemed her unfit for that line of work (in the eyes of whatever Guild is in charge of those things). So, frustrated, she decided to enter the training of a nameless Saguaran fighting sage [who has no gender and is referred to by they/them] who stripped her of her original name and dubbed her Frog (aka Frog Butt). She calls this sage Beetle. Beetle trained Frog extensively in using the Naginata while they themselves use a Katana (because both of those weapons are cool).
At some point, while Beetle and Frog are in Sarkeslion, Beetle decides that Frog needs to travel the world as a pacifist in order to learn more about fighting. So- Beetle sent Frog, along with her Dire Axolotl, Kopokopo [コポコポ], on a journey Naginata-less to learn something from the world.
I imagine she's probably around 18 years old and has been training with Beetle for two or three of the past years of her life. I want to make it clear that I'm skipping a lot of finer details because they're not set in stone yet, but I have a lot of ideas that I want to work with. I just want to make sure it's cohesive with everybody else's stuff first.

As far as how this ties in with the other characters, I'm super open to ideas and working that out. Frog is pretty rowdy and likes causing mischief and getting into fights, and Frog and Beetle would likely be the kinds of people to get into trouble with their training from time to time.
I was kicking ideas around with Violet about Lyra and Frog maybe getting into hijinks together. There was also very small talk of Beetle and Rivek being acquainted, which might be why Beetle sends their pupil on a journey with our shadow person. Neither of these things were set in stone though, so whatever people wanna do works with me.

Anne helped me with some character sheet stuff (which I still need to finish), working out that Kopokopo will likely be doing most of the fighting in place of Frog with some help from Frog using a Combat Reflexes/Bodyguard combo. Frog not fighting isn't really the goal- she loves to fight a lot- but she does feel like she should try to honor the wishes of Beetle. But if she saw even the smallest need for her to get directly involved, she would not hesitate. The idea behind her being a brawler, instead of a Naginata-based fighter, is that she might still be effective without her Naginata, should she need to fight on this journey. But, with her Naginata, she might be a little more proficient in fighting. I know next to nothing about Pathfinder, so if anybody has any ideas for what traits I should be taking to help the party out, just let me know.

As far as Frog's role in the party, I've given her the Knowledge (Religion) [through the Opportunity Seeker trait, so it's +5] skill as well as Intimidate and Handle Animal. She doesn't have a modifier bonus in any of those skills, however, so she might not be the best in the party at those when it comes down to it. I'd think of her as the muscle in everything but execution of what muscle does. Kopokopo is the execution of what muscle does. She bites big.

Hello everyone! My apologies, I'm generally not on the boards on Sundays, so I'm a bit late to the party. :D

Ler'Zet here is first and foremost an outdoorssnake. He's got good survival, and has Knowledge (Nature) and (Geography) trained, as well as most of the movement-type skills. This is going to be his first major solo expedition (solo as in, not with one of the more experienced guides from his tribe), so he's going to be working hard to keep any of you from getting killed by the wilderness.

He's a ranger with a bit more dexterity than strength, but he can do decently well at a range or in melee. His big weakness in melee is that he doesn't have any armor--he slithers around on his belly but then raises up to 'stand', so it's hard for him to wear armor on his vulnerable chest--so he may be interested in getting mage armor cast on him.

He views the wilderness with a mix of practicality and reverential awe, both of which he'll probably be trying to teach the rest of you. I figure he'll join the group as a guide, whether hired or because he overhears you and volunteers. He'd very much like to take a journey out far beyond the city... possibly even never to return. There's so much world to see out there, after all.

Looks good! However, I just noticed that Living Weapon is a pretty vague Evolver's Trick. How long does it last? How is it balanced against beast totem (which is already pretty powerful)? I think it would be fair to make it cost 1 EP (as noted), but only last until your form changes again or you activate an evolution.

Or maybe it should be claws off/on at will, but when you take the claws evolution while using evolve form, or if you get claws through change shape, they increase to deal damage as if you were a monk of your level. Which of these sounds better for what you wanted to do with them?

Could you explain why the claws have a 19-20 critical threat range, also?

Also, "Common" and "Gnome" don't exist in this setting, but Orc is the Common analogue, and you can choose one other language as Relys' cultural language (Painterlily could be a language, if you like). You can then choose any other language thanks to your rank in Linguistics. So it's Orc + cultural language + any other language.

I'm interested to see the avaricious reactionary merchant interacting with the rest of the party :V

Alright, I've updated Lyra's character sheet. It should be all set to go now.

Fixed all of the minor issues, the crit was a something I forgot to fix when copying and pasting the character sheet found in the recruitment. And on the topic of living weapon I would be ok for it to only be active when Relys does evolve form, and end when evolve forms end. (TBH, I only took it because it was the extremely better then any of the natural weapon evolutions and help with if the party does continue after level 1)

I can say that at the pace of axolotl walking, the desert portion of the journey is going to take at least a week - it would be worthwhile to talk about the group's supplies and make sure they'll be adequate.

I've made a change to Khaan. She is now an investigator. I didn't feel like an ES would have enough impact in this game to be worthwhile, and Investigator facilitates a few of the same roles but generally better in the skills department.

Does starting the campaign with the first post on Monday sound good for everyone? I'd do Friday, but I'll be running two games this weekend so it's not the best time :V

In the meantime, I was thinking we could do a bit of collaborative writing to establish what the characters get up to before coming to the eastern gate. This would be a good way to hint at already-present relationships between characters, but also a good way to lead into the intro post.

I'm starting to write some stuff here - feel free to edit or add or remove however you like.

Sure, sounds good! Is Ler'Zet supposed to be the 'snake-like humanoid' getting in the car?

Well, my Mondays are impossible to get absolutely anything done on between work and weekly night school. I'd appreciate any other day, if you want me to actually post on the first day.

Yes, that was the thought, Almonihah. Feel free to change it though!

I was hoping to have time to check what'd been added/edited, but I ran out of time today! Will read up and contribute some more tomorrow.

Chwoka, in that case maybe I should start the game on Sunday. If I post on Monday and we have to wait on you until your Tuesday, it'd be more than 24 hours, but if I post Sunday night, you'll be able to post your Sunday and Almonihah might be able to post sometime in my afternoon on Monday. I don't really want to leave the start date 'til Tuesday - to be honest, I don't think we really need more than 2 more days to finalize the characters, and starting on a weekend-adjacent day feels a little neater.

That'd work.

I hate this website. I wanted to edit my post to fix the pronoun I used but it just kept timing out for two hours straight, so by the time I could it was I guess too old to edit or delete, what the shit? I'm gonna try flagging it.

Woops, sorry for being late small tech. Issue.
(Also knowing her, she would pick the shiniest amd most expensive thing she can get, not caring whether or not it is a smart choice. She is not the brightest, but still loves "things" so she will most likely pick the bracers of armor not thing about, then go through the trouble of trying to sell it when ever she can.)

That may be how Rivek sees it (having been contracted by KHAAN's family, maybe?), but I figured KHAAN might have seen the posting and decided to help escort the dodgy-sounding teen with the axolotl. KHAAN was just kicked out by her a@%++*+ family, right? Might as well go to the furthest place anyone's ever heard of.

@TerrorOfDeath Don't worry, you weren't late - we're going to at least give Almonihah a chance to post before we move on, haha.

Do you think Relys's been saving up for these extremely shiny bracers for a while, or did she just come into a lot of money?

Liberty's Edge

SO, I'm getting some off-Paizo feedback that I moved you along too quickly. Sorry about that! I posted right before going to bed, and didn't think to prompt more roleplaying before this forced stop. I didn't want to give you as players nothing to interact with in my new post, but seem to have created a different problem entirely with some not knowing how to interact with the new information.

The idea of nonlinear storytelling is something that will also come up later, due to the nature of a travelogue (long stretches of in-world time where the GM can't really provide any input), so I want to make it clear: You can at any time roleplay under an "Earlier . . ." or "Passing through the farmland:" tag to establish character interactions, and you're encouraged to do so even when I'm moving the larger story along. (Though, I'd frown on using it to gain advantages in the current situation.) It's not uncommon in PBPs to have multiple story threads going at the same time, allowing those who have more time to roleplay with each other without needing GM input.

However, I think it's clear that I didn't give enough time for introductions, which are sort of a different beast than a regular ride after characters are established, so I'd like to put the situation with the cart and deer on pause and focus our attention on what y'all talked about in the car ride. Does that sound good?

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

We could just keep adding to our intro document, alternatively.

Liberty's Edge

Male Underpowered Warrior 1

I was contemplating that, but only half the group ended up using the intro doc, so it didn't seem like a great idea for getting everyone's characters introduced to each other.

But, I realize it would disrupt the flow again to just freeze the encounter here. Anyone else have thoughts?

Liberty's Edge

Ivy went ahead and made us a Discord channel for SMS discussion. Is everyone able to use Discord? (There's a browser version if you don't have install permissions.)

I can, I'll just be scarce until the evening (EST).

Liberty's Edge

Male Underpowered Warrior 1

It seems like we have a tie - Almonihah and Violet on the side of not rewinding (and either roleplaying parallel in the google doc or just waiting until after the encounter), and Chwoka and Ivy on the side of rewinding. Absent opinions from TOD or GTW, I think rewinding with as logical a transition as possible is going to help smooth out roleplaying, so that's what we'll go with.

Gark's Quick Guide to PBP

As mentioned on the Discord, people were interested in some additional guidance on how to play in a Play-By-Post. Here's what I've got . . . not that I necessarily follow all of this advice :V

Writing Tips

Become familiar with the different BBCode options on the forum. The most important is {ooc}, which makes things blue and should be used for all mechanical notes. Note that Paizo is very finicky about continuing formatting tags after a line break - you have to close {/ooc} and open {ooc} the tags again each time you double-hit the Enter key, or you'll lose your cool blue color on all paragraphs but the first.

Third person limited, present tense, is a very dynamic and understandable way to write on a PBP. IIRC everyone has used this so far so it shouldn't be a problem - just be consistent.

I like to put dialogue in {b}old and quotation marks so it can be quickly located. You can use {bigger} tags to emphasize shouting, and {i}talics to emphasize even more.

[dice=Dice-rolling is explained pretty well by the "How to format your text" spoiler]10-1+8[/dice] Notice you can use it as a calculator in a pinch. It's also handy to list out your bonuses individually (bless, inspire courage, guidance): 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 11

It's useful to quote dialogue you're replying to, at least when it's older than the post right before yours. If a character asks six different questions to an NPC, my response is a lot clearer as a Q&A list than as a string of answers, and the encounter flows a lot more like an actual dialogue.

If you want to represent languages that other player characters don't know, you can put your dialogue in a {spoiler} tag with the name of the language you're using.

English:
Your multilingual text can become more immersive if you use Google Translate to transform the meaning of your text into another language. Since it feels goofy to me to read and understand someone's Swedish copy-paste that was supposed to be unintelligible, I'd prefer that we only use languages with a non-Latin alphabet and then use Google Translate's latinization tool to get the phonetic spelling of the translated sentences. It's very difficult to understand these phonetic spellings*, even if you're versed in the original language in question, so it won't immediately jeopardize your suspension of disbelief. Just make sure to note which real-world human language corresponds to which fake-world language so we can keep the dialogue sounding similar.

For example, if I want my character to say "There is a single city to the north" in Setter, I might decide that Setter corresponds to Arabic, and get that translation: "هناك مدينة واحدة إلى الشمال."

But I'm not done! Right below the box with Arabic letters is a phonetic approximation of what those words sound like. It reads, "hnak madinat wahidat 'iilaa alshamal." I might capitalize that first H, but this is good enough to post. Much less recognizable, while retaining a distinct sound!

*Big props to Google for not having figured out a way to recognizably recreate words and sounds in the Latin alphabet, I guess!

Based on all the tools described above, you should be able to put together a pretty and structured post.
Here's an example of a combat post:
Will vs. devil's spell (magic circle against evil): 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 14 + 2 = 28 So Astraden takes 14 damage. [48/94] hp

"You - you murderers!" Astraden focuses on Mara. "Suffer."

One of the moon patches on her robe peels off and begins to shimmer, growing in size. It draws in Mara's gaze, making her vision waver, making all seem distant but the huge, white orb. Something about that orb threatens to subsume even Mara's inhuman consciousness.

Mara needs to make a Will save, DC 20, to avoid permanent confusion as the spell.

Astraden then releases a burst of healing energy that catches herself and Carina. "Eben, how many of those dimension-locking arrows do you have left?"

Quick Channel positive energy to heal Astraden, Carina, and the dying people: 7d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4, 3, 2, 2) = 29 [5/7] channels remaining because the feat takes 2 charges, [77/94] hp remaining.

Round 1: Command moon power from robe of Zagyg (standard action) and Quick Channel (move action). Veil lasts 5195 rounds. Magic circle against evil on Cuetzpalli lasts 1033 rounds. Shield of faith on Tanith lasts 100 rounds. Communal air walk on Astraden and Zalamandra lasts 579 rounds. Mislead lasts 5 rounds. Magic circle against law on Carina lasts 1195 rounds.

Pacing

The first rule of PBP roleplay is that you have to give in order to get (credit to Doomed Hero for paraphrase source). You have to provide hooks for other characters to interact with yours, and if someone tries to interact with your character - seeking an opinion, for example - it's doubly important to respond to them in a meaningful way. A great way to hook in another character is asking them a question, as if opening a real conversation. Think of your characters as partygoers in a crowded room. If you don't have anyone to talk to, try to find the other characters who seem bored and engage them in some way. (Link has a lot, lot more on this topic.)

If you don't think your character has an opinion or a comment, communicate that! But each time you do so, it should feel *new* in some way. The point is to both create an interesting story and keep everyone engaged.

The other tip I have is to engage in roleplay across different times. To some extent, we already do this when one of the players wants to engage with multiple hooks from the same post; they might answer "Yes," "Maybe," and "No" separately in response to a string of three questions rather than waiting until the questioner is done to say "Yes, maybe, and no" (though that's certainly permitted!). At that point, the timeline of the questioner's post and the answerer's post overlap. But it can get more complex.

Consider you're invited to a meeting with a wizard, and I as GM describe the wizard's tower and their strange furnishings, then describe the wizard's study and roleplay their greeting in the same post. What if you wanted to examine one of the furnishings? That furnishing is not now forever locked from view - you can just write, "I wanted to look at that painting. Does a 14 Knowledge (history) (taking 10) let me remember anything?" Similarly, if another character responds to the wizard's greeting and the conversation moves onwards, you're still welcome to comment, "As everyone sits down, [my character] draws out a flask of nauseating liquor and begins to drink it down, as is their people's custom at the house of a host." That wasn't described before the other roleplay began, but as it doesn't immediately affect any other character, it's perfectly valid to post. If you'd already participated in the conversation before that, though, it would be pretty weird to just retcon in the whisky you'd been drinking all this time. The long and short of it is that roleplaying in different time frames gives you, me, and all our fellow players more opportunities to roleplay when we're posting at this rather gradual pace.

In order to keep up with this pace, though, you still need to establish some sort of posting habit! My last pacing tip is to find a pattern that works for you. Some players have specific days when they're able to post, and put goals on their schedule to make at least one post on every one of those days. Other players have more open schedules, but have trouble remembering to check the thread, or finding the newest posts in the thread. For those players, a good option is to go to the home page, bookmark it, and click Focus to only show the threads you've visited. Return to this bookmark every day (or every other day, or every MWF, etc.) to see if any new posts have been made.

You can also just ask the GM to message you when they put a new post up, but it's important to monitor the posts of your coplayers as well.

Just be sure that once you read a post, you remember to eventually reply to it - sometimes I forget to reply to something because I was in a rush and shutting down my computer, and then think I've replied to the thread because it shows no unread posts. Anyway, find a pattern that works for you!

Absences (And secret bonus info about pacing)

This is worth calling out in specific - if you need to take a break from the game for mental health, to go on a trip, or for any other reason, just let us know as soon as possible. If you don't give advance notice but go a whole week without posting, I'll NPC your character (in a way that minimizes using spells, expensive one-use items, and other limited resources). If you do know ahead of time that you're going to be absent, it's extraordinarily useful for you to suggest another player to "bot" your character. I understand that right here at the start of the game, however, you don't really know each other well enough for that yet.

Though absences are a sure way to get your character played by someone else, there's a kind of "soft" botting that can happen under shorter periods. This happens when I prompt the party to decide a course of action, and at least 2 days go by without a unanimous response. If there's a clear plurality in the responses that do exist - maybe 3 people want to explore a cave and 1 person is against the idea - then we'll move on with the most popular plan being executed. Even if just one person posts in that period, I'd wait a little longer (depending on how reasonable the idea seems), but would eventually take silence as approval of the plan. Thus, the party can go through a door without having to do a 6-person head count, and they can go into a cave without holding a referendum. Now that we have a Discord, it'll also be a lot easier to reconcile plans, so hopefully we can avoid egregious NPCing.

Okay! That's all I've got.

fake edit: Always remember to copy your posts before hitting Preview or Submit - it'll save a lot of sorrow from Paizo timing out and eating your post. I often paste my in-progress posts into .txt files to be extra careful.

Just wanted to let y'all know I've been putting off this post because it needs a bit more narration+thought than the others. I'm going to a hotel for my anniversary today and about half of tomorrow, but this game is the first one I'll get back to when I'm home.

Working on a post, but I gotta go to bed again! Coming tomorrow, hopefully . . .

I'll take a little longer to get to Relys and Ler'Zet, but I didn't forget them!

I wanted to do a quick check-in - has the game gotten any easier to follow since the split in the groups?

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Yes, definitely.

We can probably say the group catches Ban and takes care of the kids so we can move on, if everyone's less-than-interested in playing out the minute roleplay with the angry farmer and the kids that are in shock. Do we want to do that skip? Or maybe take just another round of posts from everyone before we tie it up?

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

I'd say let's get everyone back together quickly, yes, but not necessarily entirely skip taking care of the aftermath.

Female Human 5th level Cleric

A little bit of RP wouldn't be a bad idea, find out where they're off to and how they'll handle without Nab.

It's not that I'm particularly waiting on anyone to post - it's just been a busy few days. Among other things, I started a new full-time* job. I'll probably be able to post tomorrow evening, though I won't have a plenitude of free time until Thursday. Feel free to steer the story towards getting the groups back together while you're waiting!

*It's only part-time until I finish the agreed-upon period at my current part-time job, though. (And I only worked the one day this week.)

Alright, I was willing to run this game in spite of my mounting offline responsibilities, but not in spite of whether anyone's actually having fun playing. I'm starting a full-time job next week and continuing to take a full-time Swedish online course and run two Roll20-Discord campaigns, and giving this story life support is not worth it. It's dead, it was probably doomed from the start, and I don't fault y'all for dropping out. I don't fault you for applying, either - I also liked the game's introductory description, and it's possible that in the right GM's hands, this game could've been very successful and engaging. And maybe even met the time frame set for it. It just wasn't something I was capable of at this time in my life.

I'll try and get up a short wrap-up this weekend, and you're welcome to post in the gameplay thread for the next couple weeks or so before I mark the game as inactive.

I can't say I'll have any openings in games I GM for quite a while, but I would be interested in playing with any of you at some point in the future - shoot me a message if you're looking to GM something of your own.

Thanks for playing as long as you did!
