I'm in doubt as to what I like more

I'll either go for making the Fallen of Metal/Steel, a former patron of blacksmiths, or the Fallen of Infestation, inspired by Ichneumon wasps (the ones that lay their eggs in or on a paralyzed host which is then eaten alive by the larvae)

Was kinda hoping there was an item out there somewhere. Or spell.

There's always ways to get profane bonuses if you delve far enough...

If you're big enough, you can wear Robes of Lead for the Profane bonus (or arguably subtract 36,000 gp from the cost to lose the +6 armor bonus, though they do keep you unarmed.

Spellcasting Contract will also give you the bonus you want, though it may be more thematic for some characters than others—and could be used on, say, a cult leader.

And Dastard Armor can provide a bonus vs one enemy at a time.

For someone who asked:
I have Temporal Celerity (Su) which lets me always act in the surprise round.
I will get Iaijutsu Focus (Ex) in 2 levels which will also always let me act in Surprise but is EX instead of SU.

@Saves, around 25/21/24,
I did get Lucky, Greater, for Race Points, though.

It seems like most saves for most characters are in the 15-25 range (and most ACs in the 40-55 range, and attacks in the +20-30 range), which is actually remarkably consistent for a recruitment like this.

Well, I think mostly thats because we are statcapped. There's only so many ways to boost things higher without being able to increase stats.

But I agree, this consistency is good, because people who get picked will always feel useful.

I can rage for 58 rounds per day (anger inquisition/rage subdomain/barbarian levels). Not bad I think.

do we know when recruitment closes?

I haven't done any character building at all so far because the amount of time it will take me is daunting, but it looks like sooooo much fun...

It was said to be open for 2-3 weeks.

So I would expect you have a full ~2 weeks left at least.

Your builds are crazy fun, guys! I'm loving what I'm building with the GM too. I think I'm behind in most things (AC, saves, attacks, damage, etc.) but I'm loving all the thematic of the campaign and my character, and dying to see the parties we will form.

Catching up with an old discussion: my saves aren't anything to write home about at 25/10/19 but while raging it's 29/10/22 and I can roll will twice and take the better 1/rnd.

I like that my huge character has full ranks in stealth though. Not amazing stealth bonus but i have undetectable power also. Then I can still come with you guys when stealth is necessary.

All in all I think my character looks like is going to be really fun to play and describe

Tempted to make one of my Legendary Items the Immolation Cloak.

** spoiler omitted **

The first bit is useless to me (I'm immune to fire anyway) but spending 10 HP to explode for 13d8 damage and be effectively GONE for a turn before I reform just seems AWESOME.

In the middle of an angry mob of peasants or whatever, just activate it and watch the flames splat them to pieces and then nonchalantly reconstitutes 6 seconds later.

Not very practical, though.

Given the amount of resources we have, spending a little bit on fun and style is probably worth it.

If you can change your immunity to fire to something else, then it's definitely worth it.

Right now, my saves are 21/18/15, but I don't really care about saves with my massive piles of immunities.
Not actually sure about final AC or attack, as I'm still shuffling some legendary stuff around.

Okay, without buffing:

AC is 50, TAC 43, Flatfoot AC is #DIV/0
Fort 20, Reflex 23, Will 22; +4 vs. spells/sla's/poison; stalwart and imp evasion
Attack is +22 vs. touch, often flatfoot touch

So right on target.

Question for anyone:

"You may also use levels from any side of the gestalt to acquire templates, with the calculation of (level=CR-1, minimum of 1)."

So, for example, if I were interested in a template that is listed as "CR +2", it would then be equivalent to one class level?

seems correct, yep. I only get the vs. touch next level though...but then, a ton of immunities and attack riders make up for that, I would think.

@Tanner Nielsen: Correct, but with stuff like Nat AC or DR, you only take the best(they don't stack), and you get no Ability Modifiers except size from Templates.

Thanks!

@legendary items...was there a decision regarding slotless items?

@legendary items 2: was there a precedence of using a existing feature as item?

Specifically, with my build, I NEED to have 2 items. Cannot not have them.

The first of which is Herald of Death's Scythe. Regularily, he needs to mount up, then manifest it and use it. I would prefer working something out where the mounting part is omitted, and I can just use it at all times(really mostly a fluff thing, as a majestic flying angel sitting on a flying undead horse kind of doesn't mix)
It already is a feature of the character, so the only thing that would happen is that it becomes legendary and a persistent item.(and, if applicable, adding a +2 bonus to it(Impact) to make it +4 total bonus).

The second item I utterly need is a phylactery. Being a Dread Lich, I must have one that rebuilds me if I die. Naturally, being the source of my un-life it lends itself to being a legendary item for me. It would be secret, and hidden, but having an intelligent flying teleporting eternal bond-phylactery(unyielding returning with more levels...) would be a boon to any lich...

Quote:
Soul Safe: Your item carries a part of your immortal spark within it, and unless the item is destroyed you cannot be permanently slain. If you are killed, your body reforms 24 hours later in the nearest open space within 30 feet of the item. If you are affected by death effect or energy drain while wearing or wielding the item, you may expend one use of legendary power as an immediate action to negate that effect; this cost is doubled if the effect is a mythic effect and tripled if the mythic rank or tier of the effect’s creator exceeds yours. An item must have the eternal bond legendary ability and be a minor or major artifact to have this ability. This is a persistent ability.

where's that from?

That would also save me a feat(Hasty Rebirth) to cut the time down to 1 day. I would still need go be a lich because that's where I get my undead fix, but this sounds fluffy-delicious regardless for a phylactery.(death effects and energy drain, I can ignore anyway).
also, @Rednal, I know it's not your preferred format, but could you give Harlequin a once-over to see if you catch anything I missed? Such huge projects are prone to mistakes, unfortunately, so I would welcome another pair of eyes catching them. I'm not all done yet, but most things should be in order-

I gave my legendary graveknight full plate the ability to cast Teleport once per day, preferably to escape after I'm defeated.
Not sure what I'm going for the other two.

Trying to get War's Dominate Monster from her mounted weapon on my legendary weapon, actually.

The Hero's Handbook, part of the Mythic Mania series. Good stuff. ^^ I'll probably take this myself for my second legendary item, just so I have a way of reviving...

Also, for the Harlequin... looks good on first glance, though I didn't crunch the numbers. XD Ask the GM if you should have another ability point for leveling up, though, given that templates 'replace' class levels.

Fun thought has anyone decided on making something incorporeal?

Yup, Iaidionnel is incorporeal, although she can summon a corporeal body via Daywalker when needed.

Actually, nope.
Not even once.

It's harder to tempt people if you can't interact with them. XD Though Sariel CAN get something a bit similar by possessing creatures and objects. I don't think there's any requirement that either of them be corporeal...

And cutting them up doesn't work very well either.

Sczarni

Da-Mavet has this here fun ability.

Incorporeal Step (Su)

When a shadow lord moves, it gains the incorporeal subtype and quality, including a deflection bonus to AC equal to its Charisma bonus. It loses the incorporeal subtype and special ability when it stops moving.

Slowly but surely taking shape. I think all I need to do now is buy "equipment" get more fiendish powers, and talk to the herald about what I need to do to get access to or create my own tech labs.

Backstory is a former guardian o the Golden Vault corrupted by the darker progresses of mortal's technology into what he is. While his twin brother became enlightened by its ideals he became the opposite. Both were decommissioned by Abadar and both fled in separate directions.

That he was decommissioned actually explains much of his appearance. He is a literal scion of that god and thus when Abadar willed his destruction he immediately began to rust and decay. Only through his own ingenuity and will has he been able to maintain his form hence the swarms of mircro constructs all over his body.

I rather like the idea of Abadar playing the part of Hank Pym to Arkothus's Ultron.

Fun thought: Give that to BOTH of your legendary items, then have followers place them 100 feet apart. 24 hours later, there's 2 of you ^_^ Also, thanks for the quick glance, Rednal

Regarding incorporeality: I had considered it, but honestly, not a huge fan of it. Certainly fun to have it around, though.

Also, I guess nobody is interested in acknowledging me as their leader? ;)
How about you? I'm the same race and alignment as you are...I mean, why not?

I actually PMed to ask if there would be any problems with making an incorporeal character, but it seems like my question was answered. Yes, I'm making an incorporeal character. :)

I'm probably taking that also rednal thanks for sharing. Thematically one of my items is part of the character so that is super fitting.

I think I need to work on getting better DR. 1/2 my level in DR /- is nice, but just getting a high DR /good would be cool for the times they don't have good aligned.

I'm having a hard time finding that on the Srd. :/

Kind of hoping to find a bigger list of available options.

The thing he is referencing is a 3pp not on srd

I also need more resistances or immunities.

Yup - Mythic Mania is 3PP... albeit 3PP apparently made by the people who created the original Mythic system specifically to fill in the gaps and fix many of the problems the system has. XD They even have an advice section for running mythic games.

Wish it wasn't a $30 PDF, I just can't justify that with the small number of mythic games I'll ever get to run or be in

But you can ask me for ideas and options from it. o wo~ I'm happy to share with people when we're in games together. XD

Lol at masterful cloning technique.

Can I just ask, what is Harlequin's relationship with Death? And the backstory in particular, he looks like an extraplanetary messenger of death and destruction, but...

Being the Harbinger is nice and all, just asking. The reason being that Da-Mavet is the betrayed apprentice of Death himself.

Are we talking Charon Death here, or some other entity?

Because Azrielan's the Herald of Szuriel, or War.
We might have to be friends!

I'm not sure who, exactly, Sariel might truly be affiliated with - depends in part on the exact nature of the underworld we're using, I guess. XD Right now, I see her as a kind of middle management type.

Waiting on the GM to reply, but I am hoping to find a way to have this be one of my Fiendish Powers, useable only by Mercy, my 'peaceful' bow:

Healing Arrow Su) As a swift action, a zuishin can infuse an arrow it fires to carry any of the following effects: breath of life, cure light wounds, heal, neutralize poison, remove curse, remove disease, or restoration. Using one of these effects consumes a use of the same spell-like ability. The zuishin must make a touch attack to deliver the effect to the target—the target takes no damage from the arrow.

His Domain was Trickery, and I intend to get that across too.

I started the design process with a character concept in mind, then went from there to "realizing" it within the available rules.
But I will have to revisit the concept in the end, asking GM for a few "pointers" as to what's possible.

Because right now, there's some "variants" of the concept that may depend on answers.

What they all have in common is that he's a trickster. A form of a spirit of death existing in a number of cultures. (For example, if he's coming for someone, that person can always try and strike a bargain, or play a game for their life...but ultimately, they will always lose). The Fool, the Red Jester, the Harlequin, the Man at the Crossroads,...in all cases, the joke is on the others...or he will not reveal his true nature, and for example test people's resolve in extreme situations, ending with reward or reaping...there's plenty of legends and old story's about such a being.

Most of his extraplanetary-seeming stuff is merely to either support his angelic origin, or his role as a trickster. (Angelic: Blinding people who look at his true form or being so stunningly graceful it makes him harder to hit, Trickster: Being able to be called upon and come, always seeming to be of the same kind as the caller unless revealing his angelic or undead visage respectively etc...)
Also, things will depend on wether there's other heralds in the chosen group. If he will be alone, there must be a reason he works alone, or only with 1 other member, rather than as a full team.

So all in all, I cannot yet tell you if he will end up as a Rogue agent spurned by all parties involved, or if he will end up a somewhat orders-are-interpreted-creatively-kind of servant. Either way, however, he will have been a bit too "creative" in his actions, leading to his fall.

All done with Iadionnel's background. Just need to give it a polish pass and to go over her crunch to check for inconsistencies, but otherwise should be all good to go!

Íaídíonnel, She Who Devours the Light, Fallen of Unlife :

Appearance
Before Iaidionnel's fall, she took the form of an Astral Deva of surpassing beauty. Her facial features are those of a young Tian-min woman with raven-black hair, a pale cream-colored complexion and striking golden irises. Her wings, just a shade or two bluer than her hair made her stand out among her fellow devas. She carried a caduceus staff which she used as a quarterstaff when fighting, and wore simple white silk robes inscribed with swirling silver forms not unlike clouds in a turbulent sky or eddies in a stream.

After her fall, she still retained her unearthly beauty but her body is now translucent from the loss of her physical form. Her robes, once pristine white have faded to an ashen grey, and the silver that embroidered them is a tarnished black. Where there were once golden irises, her eyes now are a sickly white, lacking any pupil and iris. Her wings still have roughly the same form, though now they are comprised of inky black wisps of smoke and shadows instead of feathers. Her staff destroyed in her battle against Fumeiyoshi's servant, she now carries his Naginata, to which she bound part of his soul. Floating above her head is a swirling mass of shadows resembling something somewhere between a halo and a crown, in which is set a single brilliant white gem whose flickers and glints seem to be shadow rather than light. Small openings appear within the wreath of shadows, as if there were unfilled sockets waiting for gems.

When she chooses to, she can manifest a physical body almost identical to her original form, with her wings resuming their original appearance as raven's wings, though her robes remain grey and tarnished. At any point she can shed the physical form, flying forth from it and leaving it to crumble away to dust. Furthermore, her skills in necromancy allow her to sculpt the corpse she uses as a shell into any form she chooses, allowing her to disguise herself when desired.

Personality
Tasked with organizing and keeping track of Qi Zhong's library relating to healing and medicine, Iaidionnel has always been obsessed to some extent with knowledge. A master of healing magic and one of the foremost experts on magic involving souls, Iaidionnel served as one of Qi Zhong's closest lieutenants, and some claim that prior to her death and ascension as a Deva, she'd been visited by Qi Zhong and lain with him as a lover. Whatever the truth of it, she was devoted to her lord and served him loyally for many eons. Many believed that, given her service and success, she would be ascended to Planetar or Solar soon, taking her place at Qi Zhong's right hand.

Though good at heart, her mastery of the healing arts and her high position within Qi Zhong's heirarchy despite not having ascended as a Solar yet tainted her ever so subtly with pride. She helped when she could, but the thing she wanted most was to prove herself superior to all of her lord's servants and to assume her place at his side for eternity.

The Fall
When Khzêlel the Devourer, servant of Fumeiyoshi began his assault on Nirvana, she was chosen to lead the defense. The battles were long and costly, and for centuries they fought to a standstill. One day, however, that changed. Instead of leading from the rear of his army, Khzêlel began showing up to the battlefield himself with hardly any troops in tow. Despite this, he seemed to easily dispatch the troops that Iaidionnel dispatched to handle him. Through much scrying and research, she was able to determine that he'd developed a means to tie himself directly to the plane of negative energy through the sacrifice of his follower's souls. This ability made him nearly impossible to kill, and the imbalance was only exacerbated by his ability to feast on the souls of those he'd slain in combat.

Desperate for a solution, she returned to her lord's library as her armies fought a desparate holding action against the daemon lord. There, after much frantic searching, she developed a means for linking together the souls of an angelic host so that she could draw upon their power to sever Khzêlel's link to the negative energy plane. Confident in her abilities and certain that she'd come up with a way to defeat him she headed back to the front with her personal escort and Qi Zhong's generals. Her forces numbered in the hundreds of Devas several dozen Planetars and the four great generals who normally oversaw Qi Zhong's forces. In preparation for the battle she linked herself to them all, the host willingly offering their souls to the union so that she would be able to defeat Khzêlel. Empowered by the connection, she charged into battle with the fiend, who no longer even bothered to bring troops with him when he came to battle. She charged the ascended obcisidaemon, launching into a series of quick open palm strikes interspersed with blows from her Caduceus staff, her prefered method of fighting. Though her strikes were quick and accurate, Khzêlel seemed to shrug them off without much trouble. Nevertheless, she pressed the attack, knowing she'd need to provoke him into using his soul devouring ability in order to try to sever his link and defeat him. Onward she pressed, and aided in her assault by the four generals, they managed to put Khzêlel in a desperate situation.

Tired of the game, he opened his maw and breathed in; a terrible wind blew through the battlefield towards him, a wind so cold and terrible it seemed to draw the very life from even Iaidionnel's body. Knowing that now was her chance, she called upon the power of the host, drawing the positive energy from each of their individual connections to the plane of positive energy and channeling the gathered energy into her staff, so she could release it in a single burst and thereby seal Khzêlel's power permanently. Focusing on the demon, she struck with the base of her staff, unleashing the gathered power into him. As she did had a vision of his soul seated within the portal that he drew his power from. The energy she'd released rushed forward in a torrent towards him and began to overwhelm Khzêlel, threatening to close the portal. In that moment she heard his words in her mind: "I am impressed, I had not thought your pathetic abilities could even begin to match my mastery of souls. For that I'll imprison you instead of devouring you, so that you might enjoy the remainder of eternity knowing you weren't quite good enough..." As the words finished, her vision changed, and what had seemed a small portal nearly overwhelmed by the torrent was now a gaping chasm with only a trickle flowing through it. As it changed, her staff shattered from the backlash of negative energy pouring through it, shards tearing into her body as it did. She knew at once what had happened: While she was manipulating willing souls to provide her power, he was able to use them to fuel his power directly. She could not compete when he could afford to wring every last bit of energy from each soul he had consumed and she needed to worry about perserving those serving under her.

In that moment she understood she'd been defeated, and in that realization she felt true envy for the first time. She was easily his better, but her ethics prevented her from making the most of her knowledge. If she were free to do what was necessary, she'd easily best him in battle. The thought echoed through her mind over and over as she felt her soul begin to be drawn from her body. Overwhelmed by her envy and pride, and the fear of losing when she'd been so close to achieving her goal, something within Iaidionnel snapped. She would not lose here, she thought, not to this filth. She would win, no matter what the cost. With an inherent understanding of Khzêlel's magic, she realized that she could gain the upper hand. While Khzêlel had certainly devoured his army to gain power, he'd taken those souls by force. If souls that were willingly given were so sacrificed, however, she'd be able to extract even more power from them. Partially from the lack of resistance, and partially from the terror that they would likely feel when they realized they had been betrayed. Nevertheless, it was worth it to not lose.

Reaching deep into herself, she took hold of the tether between her and the rest of the host and pulled. The souls of her army were torn from their bodies, drawing screams of horror throughout the battlefield before reducing them all to ash. As the surge of energy reached her, time seemed to stop before her eyes. Everything was still across the battlefield, and wherever she looked she could see the truth beyond reality. She looked down at her own hands and realized that she was close to ascending, not to life as a more powerful angel, but to godhood. Knowing she needed to work quickly before the burst of energy was gone, she began crafting the items she would need to finish her apotheosis.

Reaching into Khzêlel's body, she easily snapped the thin cord that connected him to his source of power and drew out his soul by force. Laying it before her, she traced her finger across it, splitting it into three parts: his power, his intellect, and his hunger. Firstly, she took his power for herself, consuming it greedily as she'd consumed the souls of her host. Secondly, she crafted a wreath of shadows from the negative energy that was still flowing through the aether around them. She then reached over to the final soul on the battlefield, Mieanel, the Lantern Archon gestalt that had been assigned to her by Shizuru as her Adjutant and observer to record all that happened at the battle. It had been the only being on the field not linked to her, and so she grabbed it and compressed the pitiful little creature's soul until all that remained was a pristine diamond composed of positive energy. Within the gem she placed a measure of her own soul along with Khzêlel's intellect, entwining the two so he'd be unable to ever escape her grasp. The gem completed, she set it in the shadowy circlet and released it, upon witch it floated up above her head in some twisted mockery of a halo. Finally she took Khzêlel's weapon and imbued it with his hunger, again binding it with a small measure of her own soul so the weapon would be forever bound to her.

Shortly after she'd finished the rush of energy passed, and so with it the understanding of what she'd done. Above her head floated Meianel, the Soul-Wrought Diamond, Tomb of the Khzalel the Devourer, and in her right hand, Khzêlärev, the Culler of Fates. She knew that with the two she would be able to achieve a goal greater than any she had dreamt of before, though how she would do so had become unclear to her again. Dismissing the two after inspecting them, she surveyed the battlefield. Where there had been green fields and celestial creatures, there was now only ash and dust. Her armies were all dead, along with the daemon Khzêlel. Unmoved, she turned and headed back to report to her lord on her success.

When she arrived in his presence, he seemed distracted. She strode up behind him, triumphant and declared "I have met Khzêlel in battle, and he has fallen before me." Sounding concerned, Qi Zhong queried, "Yes, and at what cost? How many of your host survived?" Not expecting the question, she fumbled for a response as she felt anger welling up, "We had no choice but to defeat him! We lost the armies, yes, but it was a price that had to be paid!" she shouted at him. In her mind she felt something, words forming not of her own volition, "He doesn't know what you accomplished... he won't give you the recognition you desire. But he still trusts you, see how he turns his back? Do you feel his power waiting to be taken?" The words penetrated deeply, feeding the desire and envy that had taken root in her heart. She looked at Qi Zhong and felt the spark of divinity pulsing within him, and felt a hunger well up within her that she'd never known before. Walking up close, she wrapped her arms around him and whispered "I am sorry my lord, I did not mean to speak as such. It was a terrible price that was paid, and I am truly sorry it came to that." As she finished she bit down into his neck instinctively, and for the briefest of moments she felt power unimaginable flowing into her. However, as quickly as it had started, it had finished and she was thrown back by a burst of holy light that filled the room.

Turning to face her, he spoke, a look of true sadness and disappointment on his face. "I am sorry it has come to this, I had hoped to cure you of this curse you'd recieved from Khzêlel, but I can see now that you are not who I thought you were." He drifted calmly towards her and reached out for her soul, grabbing it and holding it before him. Taking his quill, he rewrote the true name within it, saying "From now on you shall be known as Iaidionnel, She who devours the light. As a gift to the one who was before you, I hereby banish you from Nirvana to the Hells for eternity. Begone from my sight!" He waved his arm and holy fire consumed her burning at her flesh as she plumetted from the plane into darkness. As she fell, she looked back up at the fading light that was Qi Zhong, reaching desperately for him. As the last of her body turned to ash, she heard the words form in her mind again. "Fear not my mistress, Mieanel will restore you. This is not the end of your journey, merely the beginning..."

Yep taking my time, posts here make me rethink stuff.

MY PCs two main abilities are
1: The use and manipulation of time.
2: The Ability to unmake things, its her great doom, once unmade nothing short of a god will bring it back.

I am then fitting my PC around that Idea.

Loads of fun.

NO idea how this game will work as per power levels PC to PC, some builds are nuts v power levels, other seem much lower, Mine will not be a kill tank. I'm going full thematic.

Ah, neat.

Anything in there that might fit Jadgael?

I finally nailed down the concept. Posting in chunks.
