About IaidionnelDescription:
Appearance Iadionnel (Post-Fall) Iadionnel (Pre-Fall, on left) Before Iaidionnel's fall, she took the form of an Astral Deva of surpassing beauty. Her facial features are those of a young Tian-min woman with raven-black hair, a pale cream-colored complexion and striking golden irises. Her wings, just a shade or two bluer than her hair made her stand out among her fellow devas. She carried a caduceus staff which she used as a quarterstaff when fighting, and wore simple white silk robes inscribed with swirling silver forms not unlike clouds in a turbulent sky or eddies in a stream. After her fall, she still retained her unearthly beauty but her body is now translucent from the loss of her physical form. Her robes, once pristine white have faded to an ashen grey, and the silver that embroidered them is a tarnished black. Where there were once golden irises, her eyes now are a sickly white, lacking any pupil and iris. Her wings still have roughly the same form, though now they are comprised of inky black wisps of smoke and shadows instead of feathers. Her staff destroyed in her battle against Fumeiyoshi's servant, she now carries his Naginata, to which she bound part of his soul. Floating above her head is a swirling mass of shadows resembling something somewhere between a halo and a crown, in which is set a single brilliant white gem whose flickers and glints seem to be shadow rather than light. Small openings appear within the wreath of shadows, as if there were unfilled sockets waiting for gems. When she chooses to, she can manifest a physical body almost identical to her original form, with her wings resuming their original appearance as raven's wings, though her robes remain grey and tarnished. At any point she can shed the physical form, flying forth from it and leaving it to crumble away to dust. Furthermore, her skills in necromancy allow her to sculpt the corpse she uses as a shell into any form she chooses, allowing her to disguise herself when desired. Personality
Though good at heart, her mastery of the healing arts and her high position within Qi Zhong's heirarchy despite not having ascended as a Solar yet tainted her ever so subtly with pride. She helped when she could, but the thing she wanted most was to prove herself superior to all of her lord's servants and to assume her place at his side for eternity. [/bigger]The Fall[/bigger]
Desperate for a solution, she returned to her lord's library as her armies fought a desparate holding action against the daemon lord. There, after much frantic searching, she developed a means for linking together the souls of an angelic host so that she could draw upon their power to sever Khzêlel's link to the negative energy plane. Confident in her abilities and certain that she'd come up with a way to defeat him she headed back to the front with her personal escort and Qi Zhong's generals. Her forces numbered in the hundreds of Devas several dozen Planetars and the four great generals who normally oversaw Qi Zhong's forces. In preparation for the battle she linked herself to them all, the host willingly offering their souls to the union so that she would be able to defeat Khzêlel. Empowered by the connection, she charged into battle with the fiend, who no longer even bothered to bring troops with him when he came to battle. She charged the ascended obcisidaemon, launching into a series of quick open palm strikes interspersed with blows from her Caduceus staff, her prefered method of fighting. Though her strikes were quick and accurate, Khzêlel seemed to shrug them off without much trouble. Nevertheless, she pressed the attack, knowing she'd need to provoke him into using his soul devouring ability in order to try to sever his link and defeat him. Onward she pressed, and aided in her assault by the four generals, they managed to put Khzêlel in a desperate situation. Tired of the game, he opened his maw and breathed in; a terrible wind blew through the battlefield towards him, a wind so cold and terrible it seemed to draw the very life from even Iaidionnel's body. Knowing that now was her chance, she called upon the power of the host, drawing the positive energy from each of their individual connections to the plane of positive energy and channeling the gathered energy into her staff, so she could release it in a single burst and thereby seal Khzêlel's power permanently. Focusing on the demon, she struck with the base of her staff, unleashing the gathered power into him. As she did had a vision of his soul seated within the portal that he drew his power from. The energy she'd released rushed forward in a torrent towards him and began to overwhelm Khzêlel, threatening to close the portal. In that moment she heard his words in her mind: "I am impressed, I had not thought your pathetic abilities could even begin to match my mastery of souls. For that I'll imprison you instead of devouring you, so that you might enjoy the remainder of eternity knowing you weren't quite good enough..." As the words finished, her vision changed, and what had seemed a small portal nearly overwhelmed by the torrent was now a gaping chasm with only a trickle flowing through it. As it changed, her staff shattered from the backlash of negative energy pouring through it, shards tearing into her body as it did. She knew at once what had happened: While she was manipulating willing souls to provide her power, he was able to use them to fuel his power directly. She could not compete when he could afford to wring every last bit of energy from each soul he had consumed and she needed to worry about perserving those serving under her. In that moment she understood she'd been defeated, and in that realization she felt true envy for the first time. She was easily his better, but her ethics prevented her from making the most of her knowledge. If she were free to do what was necessary, she'd easily best him in battle. The thought echoed through her mind over and over as she felt her soul begin to be drawn from her body. Overwhelmed by her envy and pride, and the fear of losing when she'd been so close to achieving her goal, something within Iaidionnel snapped. She would not lose here, she thought, not to this filth. She would win, no matter what the cost. With an inherent understanding of Khzêlel's magic, she realized that she could gain the upper hand. While Khzêlel had certainly devoured his army to gain power, he'd taken those souls by force. If souls that were willingly given were so sacrificed, however, she'd be able to extract even more power from them. Partially from the lack of resistance, and partially from the terror that they would likely feel when they realized they had been betrayed. Nevertheless, it was worth it to not lose. Reaching deep into herself, she took hold of the tether between her and the rest of the host and pulled. The souls of her army were torn from their bodies, drawing screams of horror throughout the battlefield before reducing them all to ash. As the surge of energy reached her, time seemed to stop before her eyes. Everything was still across the battlefield, and wherever she looked she could see the truth beyond reality. She looked down at her own hands and realized that she was close to ascending, not to life as a more powerful angel, but to godhood. Knowing she needed to work quickly before the burst of energy was gone, she began crafting the items she would need to finish her apotheosis. Reaching into Khzêlel's body, she easily snapped the thin cord that connected him to his source of power and drew out his soul by force. Laying it before her, she traced her finger across it, splitting it into three parts: his power, his intellect, and his hunger. Firstly, she took his power for herself, consuming it greedily as she'd consumed the souls of her host. Secondly, she crafted a wreath of shadows from the negative energy that was still flowing through the aether around them. She then reached over to the final soul on the battlefield, Mieanel, the Lantern Archon gestalt that had been assigned to her by Shizuru as her Adjutant and observer to record all that happened at the battle. It had been the only being on the field not linked to her, and so she grabbed it and compressed the pitiful little creature's soul until all that remained was a pristine diamond composed of positive energy. Within the gem she placed a measure of her own soul along with Khzêlel's intellect, entwining the two so he'd be unable to ever escape her grasp. The gem completed, she set it in the shadowy circlet and released it, upon witch it floated up above her head in some twisted mockery of a halo. Finally she took Khzêlel's weapon and imbued it with his hunger, again binding it with a small measure of her own soul so the weapon would be forever bound to her. Shortly after she'd finished the rush of energy passed, and so with it the understanding of what she'd done. Above her head floated Meianel, the Soul-Wrought Diamond, Tomb of the Khzalel the Devourer, and in her right hand, Khzêlärev, the Culler of Fates. She knew that with the two she would be able to achieve a goal greater than any she had dreamt of before, though how she would do so had become unclear to her again. Dismissing the two after inspecting them, she surveyed the battlefield. Where there had been green fields and celestial creatures, there was now only ash and dust. Her armies were all dead, along with the daemon Khzêlel. Unmoved, she turned and headed back to report to her lord on her success. When she arrived in his presence, he seemed distracted. She strode up behind him, triumphant and declared "I have met Khzêlel in battle, and he has fallen before me." Sounding concerned, Qi Zhong queried, "Yes, and at what cost? How many of your host survived?" Not expecting the question, she fumbled for a response as she felt anger welling up, "We had no choice but to defeat him! We lost the armies, yes, but it was a price that had to be paid!" she shouted at him. In her mind she felt something, words forming not of her own volition, "He doesn't know what you accomplished... he won't give you the recognition you desire. But he still trusts you, see how he turns his back? Do you feel his power waiting to be taken?" The words penetrated deeply, feeding the desire and envy that had taken root in her heart. She looked at Qi Zhong and felt the spark of divinity pulsing within him, and felt a hunger well up within her that she'd never known before. Walking up close, she wrapped her arms around him and whispered "I am sorry my lord, I did not mean to speak as such. It was a terrible price that was paid, and I am truly sorry it came to that." As she finished she bit down into his neck instinctively, and for the briefest of moments she felt power unimaginable flowing into her. However, as quickly as it had started, it had finished and she was thrown back by a burst of holy light that filled the room. Turning to face her, he spoke, a look of true sadness and disappointment on his face. "I am sorry it has come to this, I had hoped to cure you of this curse you'd recieved from Khzêlel, but I can see now that you are not who I thought you were." He drifted calmly towards her and reached out for her soul, grabbing it and holding it before him. Taking his quill, he rewrote the true name within it, saying "From now on you shall be known as Iaidionnel, She who devours the light. As a gift to the one who was before you, I hereby banish you from Nirvana to the Hells for eternity. Begone from my sight!" He waved his arm and holy fire consumed her burning at her flesh as she plumetted from the plane into darkness. As she fell, she looked back up at the fading light that was Qi Zhong, reaching desperately for him. As the last of her body turned to ash, she heard the words form in her mind again. "Fear not my mistress, Mieanel will restore you. This is not the end of your journey, merely the beginning..." Statistics:

Meianel, the Soul-Wrought Diamond, Tomb of the Khzalel the Devourer:
Type: Legendary Ioun Stone A crown or halo consisting of a swirling mass of shadows with a gleaming white gem set in its center. The gem flickers and glints with shadows, hinting at something buried deep within. In various places along the circumference of the shadowy circlet are voids which appear as if they were sockets for missing gems. The white gem was forged from the soul of Iaidionnel's adjutant, a lantern archon gestalt, and used as a prison for Khzêlel's intellect along with a portion of Iaidionnel's. Meianel's personality contains only the cold logic and cruel intent of Khzêlel, and desires only to serve Iaidionnel and to witness her reach a new pinnacle in mastery of necromancy. Meianel is fiercely loyal due to the fact that a portion of Iaidionnel's soul is bound within it. Should she fall, it's first priority is to vanish and find a safe location to hide until it can rejuvenate her. Tentative Legendary Powers:

Khzêlärev, the Culler of Fates:
Type: Legendary +1 Unholy Guided Keen Ghost Touch Adamantine Naginata Khzêlärev is a Naginata with a black-laquered shaft with a silver pommel and blade. Silver thread inlaid into the black shaft begins at the pommel, depicting a sturdy thread that winds around the length of the shaft, thinning and becoming more frail as it approaches the middle. In the center the silver thread frays into a thousand pieces and ends abruptly in a black void in the dead center of the blade. Immediately after the break the frayed silver threads resume, tying themselves back together and thickening until the resemble the thread again, winding its way around and finally merging with the blade of the weapon. When a necromancy spell is channeled through the weapon, the threads glow with a sickly white light. The weapon belonged to Khazelel before he was defeated by Iaidionnel. She took it to replace the staff she'd used previously that was destroyed in the fight, and also bound a portion of Khazelel's essence to it. The weapon was evil to begin with, but with the devourer's hunger bound within it the weapon has become something else. The weapon has one desire, to cull Iaidionnel's enemies so that she may consume them. Tentative Legendary Powers:
