Okay clearly Boudacia taking Air Bubble for one of her new spells at level up would be our best option here; in addition, if Sama would take Touch of the Sea, I think we'd be doing just fine. Arcane Magic for the WIN!!! Of important note. If that is what is going to happen, Aldhranhald would NOT then take his level in cleric. So I really need to know what those two characters will do before I complete my level up process. :)

I made a fairly detailed post last time to the effect Water Breathing was much better for our purposes than Air Bubble.
If people want me to take air bubble as a back up I can do that.

I am all ready to proceed once we have decided what to do, just change one spell known is all.

Since the doorway has closed behind us I could presumably leave my spellbook in this little niche if we can find a way to keep it out of the water, and just hope that nothing comes along and steals it. Terrible, but not as bad as submerging and destroying the book.

Put it in your hair...the air bubble will keep it dry...
Just want to say again, that Air Bubble specifically says in the description that it can be used to make an object waterproof for the duration as well...
I'm here, just haven't had much to say since I'm entirely dependent on others for spell stuff. I would say that I figure a Handy Haversack probably is waterproof, because if not it's just going to end up full of water. Would the magic item creators intend for you to end up with a dozen cubic feet of water in your backpack all the time?
Btw, I took +1 HP for FCB. Updating Skills doc now.
Ok, so, A handy haversack basically has 3 extra-dimensional spaces (2 side pouches and main container area). Nothing you put in an extra-dimensional space 'falls' through it, but they can be accidentally pierced by items from either the inside or the outside as per the bag of holding description from the PFSRD. ... Water in its natural state is not a sharp or piercing object, so I am going to rule that a Handy Haversack (and also bag's of holding for future reference) are water-proof, though I hold the right to change my mind (I will give fair warning if so) if something or someone changes my mind further down the road.

After giving it some thought, I think I'd actually like to stick with taking Aldy's next level in cleric. If that's okay with you Stormster? I also think, again if it's all right with you, I will still take the craft wand feat. The ability to give the group wands at half the cost seems like a very useful thing, and might actually prevent us from having to go back and forth to town as much.

On that note, for my RL tabletop game, I just created an Aasimar wizard with the True-speak ability which means he learns 2 languages per skill point in Linguistics. I didn't even max it out (short by 1 skill point) and I have NINETEEN languages at 7th level! How do I explain him learning two more languages each time he levels? In his case, at least as a universalist wizard he is a scholar constantly studying & reading books so ....

There is indeed a truly massive difference between how hard it is to learn a new language in PF and real life.
To learn a language is a major effort and usually takes years. Some languages have far fewer words and simpler grammatical structures [eg Bahasa] and others are more complex and larger [eg English, Chinese]. And it is easier to learn a language related to one's first language.
I only speak English but can figure out what a lot of words in French, German and especially Italian, particularly when it is written. Italian often looks exactly like someone mucking about pretending to speak Italian by adding a o or io to the end of words, directo, silencio et al.
Ummmm... I know it's a little late, but I actually DID take a skill rank in Linguistics and the language I took was Aquan (based entirely off of the information you'd given us so far). Unfortunately I still haven't had time to finish all the level up process for Aldhranhald, nor to update his profile. I probably won't have time to do that until tomorrow morning. I apologize for holding up the show, but I've had/will continue to have a busy weekend.

I don’t want to clutter the gameplay thread with what’s basically an OOC discussion, so: In regard to Power Attack, I’ve always understood it to be something you could use or not use, that represents the character “swinging harder”, putting more emphasis into damage at the expense of accuracy. I usually use it once I take it (this why I put it in the standard stat line) but not always, especially when engaging an unfamiliar enemy. It’s never been an issue before, but I will use it all the time if that’s the way y’all want to operate.
Yeah, RAW it's "You can choose...", clearly indicating that you can turn Power Attack off and on, but you have to choose before you swing and once you turn it on you can't turn it off until your next turn (which means if you Power Attack on your turn, any AoOs that you take also have the modifiers until your next turn).
Yes please. I want the tag-line & profile to show your 'standard' numbers, not numbers after they are modified by a feat or whatever, especially something like "Power Attack" which does have to be declared when making an attack.

Incidentally, we waited two days for Chalkou to post (his turn came up Tuesday afternoon and he didn't post until Thursday night), but my turn came up at just before 10 PM Thursday night and I'm already getting angry posts and PMs about not taking my turn yet this morning (less than 12 hours later), so I'm about ready to quit.

I don't mean (nor want) to be putting you down or anything (that's why I'm sending this via a PM instead of posting it where the others can see), just trying to work things out smoothly. All I'm asking is that you please try to pay more attention to see if it is your turn in the Initiative or not. I know we all have our moments of being distracted or too busy or whatever, and I understand that.

Sama, How you get the idea that either my PM or Uriel's post were angry in their tone I have no clue. They were simple reminders. And it has happened on multiple occasions that you make a post in the Discussion tab without posting in Gameplay, when it was your turn. I have no way of knowing that you were pulled for a meeting or whatever else may be happening on your end. So don't expect me to be able to read your mind.
As to it being a lot less time between your reminders vrs. me saying anything to Chalkou, it is simply that Chalkou is MUCH newer to this group then you are, AND he went through an entire level of nothing to do for a fighter-type just before this so it would be understandable if he is not currently too enthusiastic about checking in on this game.
I don't want to lose anybody, but if you are seriously going to get that upset about simple, friendly reminders then perhaps you shouldn't be in this game.
I don't care if you apologize to me or not, but I take care of my players, and so I fully expect you to give Uriel a sincere apology. He did absolutely nothing to deserve harsh words from you.
I understand work being busy, RL being busy, and perhaps something in RL making you have a bad day. DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON US. Tell us about it if you want to talk to someone or share (as I often do!) but DO NOT get mad at us. That only makes me get mad. And we all know an angry DM is NOT a good thing.

Since you are going to have to look for another player now anyway, it seems as good a time as any for me to exit. Well, players? How do you all want to handle this situation? I can manage to bot both Aldy & Sama for this encounter, but I would certainly not want to be botting both of them for the rest of this level that just barely got started.
We have some options:
1. We can just give up & call it quits on ths game. (I don't want to! Just putting out the possibilities.)
2. We can certainly put out 'feelers' looking for new players. I would suggest we bot both for the rest of this encounter in the meantime, while we look, and if we still don't have them by the end of this encounter, then we pause the game until we do have new players. Also in this scenario, do you all want one or two new players?
3. We can just drop the two players and move on, but I would not recommend it as that would make your magic access VERY limited.
4. We could consider moving our game over to Discord. From everything I hear it is a great system and very mobile friendly. This would take some time and adjusting as I would need to learn a whole new way of doing things, but Mended tells me it is easy and a great system. If we switched over I believe Mended would possibly/probably re-join us as well?
If you have other options, please feel free to offer them or make suggestions.

Hmm...
It's obvious that Stormstrider has put a lot of work into the Emerald Spire, so it would be a shame to stop now. That said, I personally have played through quite a bit of the Spire in live game, so I wouldn't be heartbroken if we tried something else. I have enjoyed the group and the characters, but we have had our share of misunderstandings via the online forum. I, personally, have struggled when RL issues keep people we are waiting on from posting for multiple days. No blame here, but RL happens, and when one person causes a multi-day delay, then the rest of us start checking in less frequently, then everything really slows down. I have been trying to improve my patience in that department.
I am unfamiliar with Discord, but I am okay trying something new. The key is, are we still having fun? I know I am, when we are deep into the game and the roleplay, but seem to be derailed easily. Sama and Aldhranhald had their reasons for moving on. What do the rest of you think?

I’m of several minds. I don’t really want to move to a different site. I’ve never used Discord, and I’m not really looking to learn another new site. I am enjoying the game and my character. But as busy as I am, I probably should be seriously considering reducing the number of games I’m in. I don’t want to vote to end the game for everyone else, if y’all want to continue. The best thing for everyone might be for y’all to take the game to Discord and hang onto Aldhranhald, with me dropping out. If y’all stay here I’ll do my best to stick around, but if I get much busier I might have to drop out anyway.

Recruiting 2 new players sounds good. Ideal would likely be a divine and arcane caster, half or full in either case.
Why do you hate Summoners Stormstrider? Neither of the guys I play with tabletop will allow Master Summoners and more. But you have not had me playing an optimised Master Summoner to give you nightmares.
