The battle-construct dissipates in the wake of the Chaos Beast's death. The utility construct, having never swung a blow in anger, continues to bide it's time behind the group.
At seeing the young child, Volita races forward, making cooing sounds and signs of calming.
"Oh, there there little one. It's okay. We're here now. It's gonna be okay." She continues to speak even if it's apparent the child can't here her.
She can't even guess the mental trauma inflicted on so young a mind kept only one thin door away from an evil nightmare-beast.
Still, it's the time to be cautious in so odd an environ.
She calls out, "Anna, do you know why there's a child in the next room? Is this a quarantine room? Can we let her out?"

Aldondrick Volharan |

Aldon nods to Eisen, "Well struck. We must approach all such threats in here the same way. I do not wish to find out what such a creature could do.
Can anyone touch the girl's mind to ascertain whether she views us as friends or a threat?"

Jamaardi |

Once the foul chaos creature expires, Jamaardi will poke at the body with his mindblade- trying to ascertain if there's any holy symbol marks anywhere on it's bulk in the same way those devils were marked.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23.
When attention is called to the youngling girl's face openly peering out from behind the next door, due to both Volita's and Aldondrick's respective alertness, Jamaardi will answer back, "I may not be able to contact this youngling via any direct psionic power per say but if all of you can give me a few moments to grab some items of mine, I believe I can transcribe a written note to her in her language."
As the Xeph goes rummaging through his pack for paper, quill, and ink, he pauses thoughtfully before adding in, "If Anna is unable to communicate with us inside of this room or the one containing the youngling girl, it might not be a bad idea to have somebody or two step out from here and head over to another nearby area where our erstwhile Dhampir associate can be alerted to another possible survivor."
Once Jamaardi gets the paper, quill, and ink from his pack, the Xeph will again activate his mindstone at -3 PP to be able to speak, read, and write the alien language. He will also temporarily get Know:Dungeoneering as well once the mindstone activates. Jamaardi then lets his mindblade disappear, causing a mind-shaped personal bedside table to appear in it's stead. He will then proceed to write out the words of:
Do Not Be Afraid, We are here to help you. We are Friends with Anna.
in large, easy to read letters upon the paper placed on the mind-shaped mini-table.
::"I've written that she should not be afraid, that we are here to help, and that Anna is our friend. Anything else that I should write down?"::

Aldondrick Volharan |

Aldon considers Jamaardi's question, :: Do we know if this girl is indeed a girl and not some sort of montsr in disguise?::

![]() |

::That's why we're not opening the door right away.::
Volita stalks out to the last place that they had known communication with Anna and repeats the question. "Hello? Anna? There's a girl in a room. You got any data on that?"

Aldondrick Volharan |

Aldon shakes his head, :: Ask her if her name is Tory, if she says yes she's not what we think she is I would wager...::

Jamaardi |

Shaking his head to Aldon's query about the girl possibly being a monster in disguise, Jamaardi replies with ::"Without any magical powers or enchanted items working, we wouldn't have the capability to determine a creature's true form via mere eyesight, unless we had a very powerful Psionicist from the Temple accompanying us with the strength to pierce the veils. There is an alchemical means of determining if somebody is who they truly are or not but it does require access to the person's body part taken beforehand plus we'd need to solicit the services of an Alchemist to do so within touching distance of the subject."::
Once Anna's answer is revealed and relayed back to us, Jamaardi will nod towards the others and will proceed to write down in the alien language,
Is your name "Tory"? Knock Three times for Yes or Five times for No on the door.
right below what was previously written down.
On a second, separate piece of paper, Jamaardi will then write down,
Is Your Name "Rena"? Knock Three times for Yes or Five times for No upon the door.
but the Xeph will fold this second note about Rena, once the ink has dried up, into a nearby pocket.
Once all the writing is complete, Jamaardi will place the quill and ink inside his bandolier.
Then taking the first piece of paper (once the ink has dried out), the Xeph will then dismiss the small table/desk and replace it with a mind-generated moonrod (similar to a sunrod but not as bright) from his psychic toolkit ability.
Jamaardi will expend one of his two focuses to activate his Conceal Thoughts ability while letting the others know via the mindlink, ::"I've added in asking if her name is Tory, plus I've let her know to answer by knocking on the door...three times for yes or five times for no. I'll place this first note up to the door glass for her to see with the moonrod providing some light to read by from behind the paper. We'll find out more once she's answered."::
Placing the first paper, mentioning Tory, directly onto the glass part of the door with the mind-generated moonrod, now activated, directly behind the paper so that it provides a dim glow to read by, Jamaardi will wait to see how the girl behind the door responds.

Jamaardi |

This is rather unexpected. Anna's going to be in for quite a surprise...
Letting his mind-formed moonrod fade away, Jamaardi glances about at the crying youngling girl in front of him and then at all the other younglings milling about from behind the weapon racks.
Does "Rena" seem to be the oldest among the gathered children? How many girls and how many boys are there among the thirteen of them and do they comprise of different races or are they all human?
The Xeph quickly does a brief count of all the children present, as he gives a brief, tentative wave of greetings with his right hand to all the younglings looking anxiously at him from their hiding places. Jamaardi will then step back aside so that Aldon, Eisen, and Volita can get a view of the younglings and they, the younglings themselves, could get a view of all of them in turn.
Guess one of the others was named Tory?
Taking a moment to compose himself, Jamaardi then proceeds to speak to them in their alien language, albeit in that strangely enunciated way.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9.
"Greetings, Younglings; my friends and I were sent by Anna to help with things out here."
Jamaardi will then look towards Aldon, Volita, and Eisen and give a brief mindspeak, ::"There seems to be a lot more younglings than we first thought; there's at least thirteen of them in that room."::
Oops, probably should've dragged away that dead Chaos monster's body. Maybe if we kick at it, we'll earn their trust...or not. ;)

Volita comes back, sees a great horde of children in the room, then goes back to talk to Anna. "Hey, um, Anna? Not only is there not nobody in there, but there's a dozen kids in there. One of them is Rena. What, ah....what are you going to do with them? What do you want us to do?"
Volita had all the compassion for them, but they had other rights to wrong, and were in no way suited to take care of the logistical nightmare that they were now facing.

GM_Panic |

This is a long silence.
"The commander must have sent them to the most secure room we have, ist got full active Shielding, I think him for that, if he did them some of the dead around there must by there parents."
There is more silence.
"We have to get power back up, with out that we are dead in space. We will all die. Your going to have to lock them back in there. I am sorry and it hurts to say so but its the safest place. Tell them I'm coming, tell them anything, just take the weapons you need, give them what help you can and tell them to lock themselves back inside an wait. Don't let them see thire parents dead."
You can tell she is upset when she says this.

![]() |

Volita sends back. ::We need to get them back in the room. It's the only safe place. We can come back for them once we're underway and we've F+%~ING MURDERED the last of the F&~~ING DEMONS. Until then, they're safer back in the room. I think Anna said something about giving them weapons. We're...not gonna do that.::
She picks out whichever child is 1) a boy and 2) not crying and 3) oldest. She kneels down next to him. "Hey there, big guy. What's your name? Hey, listen, we don't have the ship safe yet, so I need you to be the leader, okay? We need you to tell everyone that they're gonna be safe from now on, but we need all of you to stay in the room for a little longer, okay?
Do you need anything? Food? Water?"
Volita will take a ration out of her pack and give it to him, whether he needs it or not.
"Here ya go. Now, you're the leader, so you've got to take care of everyone, alright? We'll be back in two shakes of a lambs tail."
Volita tries to get the kids back in the room and closes the door.

Aldondrick Volharan |

Aldon, having no experience with children watches Volita go to work.
If they do not listen he knows he can utilize his crown to manipulate the oldest to his Will and by extension the rest of the children, for now he is content to watch...

Jamaardi |

Heh, the potential that we can have with our very own Junior League of Psionic Assistant Equipment Squires... on second thought, it'd be a lot safer for them to stay put where they were. ;p
While Volita goes to confer with Anna about the party's newfound discovery of all these minors, Jamaardi will give a gentle head-pat to "Rena" while she's crying.
Once she subsides with her crying, the Xeph will take out the second folded paper (the one asking if her name was Rena) from his pocket and hand it over to Rena. He will quickly add in with "You won't have to knock on the door to answer, of course. Anna thought that would be your name but we wanted to make certain. The door makes it difficult to speak through it," in that strange alien language of theirs. "Can you point me to the Youngling designated as Tory?".
If Rena does so, Jamaardi will go and hand over the first piece of paper (the one that Rena read through the door glass) to "Tory", saying "You can hold onto this; it'll be yours to keep.". Turning to Rena, the Xeph will also add, "Your paper will be yours to keep too."
Volita, Jamaardi can have you activate the mindstone (if you opt to do so), and for an expenditure of just 3 pp, you will be able to verbally communicate with the alien kids, plus gain access to any one knowledge skill of your choice.
Once Volita informs the party of what Anna wants to have done with them, via the ever-present mind-link, and returns to help encourage the oldest male child who is present among the gathered younglings, Jamaardi will return back to Rena's side and tell her, "You have done well in keeping your fellow younglings safe in the room. Anna will be busy in directing us to where we must go next but if you and the others don't mind, we'll borrow some of equipment in this room to help Anna with emptying out any enemies that might be present. In return..'"
Jamaardi will then take out the iron flask containing Endeca's Gregarious Gravity Slime. Opening up the flask, Jamaardi will let the gravity slime pour out into his open hand, letting it make strange giggly noises as he pets the slime. He will then motion to Rena (or to another willing Youngling if Rena is reluctant to hold the Gravity Slime) to take the Gravity Slime and flask, saying "This is known as Endeca's Gregarious Gravity Slime, it is a favored pet among many younglings in other distant worlds. It's fairly hardy, harmless, and easy to care for. This one's a baby version of the gravity slimes. Just make sure to not stab it with anything too pointy or throw it against anybody; if you do either of those more than three times, it will shrink and disappear for good."
Then the Xeph will take out the cheese wedge from his backpack and break off a small piece of cheese, which he then will feed to the Gravity Slime in Rena's (or another's) hand, much to the slime's tribbling happiness, complete with noises of cooing and such emanating from it. "They can eat any food scraps that you care to feed them safely."
Jamaardi will leave the flask, Gravity Slime, and cheese wedge with the younglings.
Looking to Rena and the other younglings, Jamaardi will say to them, "We will have to leave soon to help secure this whole place; it might get dangerous, so if all of you wouldn't mind in helping to keep yourselves and this friendly neighborhood gravity slime safe, it would be a very big help to us" with a reassuring smile to all of them.

Jamaardi |

If there is some form of intercomm/communicator in this or the supply room that the kids hid in, Jamaardi will attempt to repair it so that Anna can make her voice come through, remotely and electronically. He has the ability to restore any item damage via his Aegis Ectopic Artisan power, albeit at 2 hp per round if the object isn't already considered as being broken. He will also find an opportune moment to double up his subconscious focus again too.
"We will return as soon as we are able. If somebody or something other than Anna or any of us comes looking about in this room, it might be best to keep yourselves hidden and to not open the door on your end."
Once the Younglings agree to care for the Gravity Slime in Jamaardi's stead and to stay put in the room that they were all hidden in (prior to Volita closing the door) and after the party gets all the necessary equipment/weaponry, as directed by Anna, Jamaardi will then hand his dull gray Ioun stone over to Aldon.
::"You can absorb some psionic power that is embedded within this burnt-out Ioun stone, Aldondrick. It will return only a small portion of psionic power to you without the need for rest but it may be of help in our task ahead on Anna's behalf. Once we're back on Golarion, it should be easy to find more unused Ioun stones to replace this one."::
If Aldon choose to use the Ioun stone, it will give him back 1 PP which can be of help to the party, even if it's just a smidgen of PP. ;)
So what other fun little alien technology are there presently for us to use? ;)

Aldondrick Volharan |

Aldon nods to Jamaardi, :: Thank you, I will take what I can get before we rest. Now where to?::

Jamaardi |

Letting the Ioun Stone dissipate as Aldon gets back his Power Point, Jamaardi replies back with a nod and grin of his own, ::"Glad to be of service. We'll probably know more once Anna can get back in touch with us."::. The Xeph tries fiddling with the alien electrical intercom/speaker components some more. K:Engineer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7.
Seeing that he's not accomplished much with the intercom, Jamaardi will use his last two Aegis customization points to gain Fortification:25%, taking a minute of his time to activate it. If any of the Younglings are peeking out from behind their door, Jamaardi will smile and give a friendly wave to them.
GM-Panic: If any of the younglings wish to converse with us, please feel free to play out the interactions as stuff that happens before the door got closed. Also I am willing to make any skill rolls as necessary to help convince them that staying put is a good idea (because who wouldn't want to hang out with a baby gravity slime in a hidey hole?) ;)
