Setting my goals on updating all games in the next 24 hours. I hope everyone is still around. I’ll post a short recap to remind everyone where we are and then try my best to get things moving again.

Thank you

Reporting in! Still here, boss!

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

Also still here. Congrats to you and your family!

male

I know there has been an awful delay, I am so sorry, but it looks like things got a bit sloppy in the game thread

Ravena – as a 3rd level ranger I’m not sure how you have access to a spell like Acid Splash

Robert – I thought you were prone? Does standing from Prone slow your total movement a bit

Calex - waiting to see if you will check in today, or I will bot you tonight to update the game thread.

Male Human Fighter 1| AC 18 T 12 FF 16 CMD 16 (18 v Trip and disarm)|12/12 HP | F +4 R +2 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +2

I don't recall being prone and don't see anywhere where I was. I may have missed something though.

male

My mistake, I took a good theatrical description, "dropping to one knee and then standing again to fight" - too literally, and began thinking you had gone prone - I'll move you the full amount when I update tonight

Female Human Oracle of life (Divine herbalist) 1 +6 init +perc, to hit, F+, R + , W +, Max HP , AC

Terq: when I created the halfling you told me halflings had these spells as racial:
Dancing lights, acid bolt.

male

oh yes, of course, how stupid of me _my mistake, sometimes i get focused on something like class and don't even look at race, *sheesh*

male

It is round 5

The troll is down and out, finished

The tafganor is going to make a run for it, hoping to avoid Robert and escape

Male Human Witch (Gravewalker) 3

Are we still in combat?

male

I suppose that's up to all of you

I'm doing some research today in effective ways to handle chase scenes, should the villain get away

Male Human Fighter 1| AC 18 T 12 FF 16 CMD 16 (18 v Trip and disarm)|12/12 HP | F +4 R +2 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +2

The DMG has rules for chases here. I ran one from The Gods Market Gamble and it went ok, but frustrating for some of the characters who didn't have the needed skills.

Male Human Witch (Gravewalker) 3

I've played and enjoyed those rules, though Marwan is likely useless in a chase.

male

I am reviewing those rules, please give me a little time to decide what I should do

male

Each character receives

300 experience points for defeating Skreed and the Troll

After reviewing the chase rules I came to the conclusion that it was not going to work well for PbP, particularly with my posting schedule

male

I know it was a lot of information to take in, but please don't let the game stall

Stolos shares something of what his people know about one of the heroes buried here

What are you all going to do now?

Waiting on the search results. My first reaction would be, since Cicily has confirmed the orc really didnt want to hurt her, is to get the names of his agents, scare the crap outta him to get him to run, and let him go so we never hafta deal with the snake ever again. Depends on what we find on him. Killing him in combat would've been fine, but killing prisoners without a just reason seems too dark for Cal. Especially since we have the word of his victim at least partially excusing him.

After that will come getting Cicily home and safe. The map, while obviously important, at this moment would be second to helping the prisoner.

This is just how Calex would see things, of course.

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

I'm waiting for the results of my search for the tomb.

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

I apologize for taking so long. I'll alert everyone of the items later tonight when i have some time to put my thoughts down

male

Calex, please decide from the following list, what you will keep

Potion of Cure moderate Wounds
Acid (2)
Alchemist’s fire
Black adder venom (2)
Bloodroot (2)
Blue Whinnis
Liquid ice (2)
Oil of Taggit
Thunderstones (2)

HP: 24/24; AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14; CMD: 16; Fort: +3, Ref: +4, Will: +4; Init +3; Perception +7

The cure potion I feel should go to one of our frontliners- Rob or Ravena.
The Blue Whinnis I'll keep- it may be usefull if we ever have another prisoner to keep subdued. The liquid ice too is something Cal would like- he enjoys that kind of oddity. The rest can be divided amongst the others as decided by the group.

Male Human Fighter 1| AC 18 T 12 FF 16 CMD 16 (18 v Trip and disarm)|12/12 HP | F +4 R +2 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +2

So you are planning on taking all of the guys gear before letting him go?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

No. I want him to have enough equipment & money to get off Urandoma, but take enough of the interesting stuff to punish him. I'm hoping this will dispose of him, without resorting to murder. Him agreeing to exile hopefully solved that. If we encounter the weasel again, all bets are off though- he only gets 1 pass from Cal. Killing him in combat would have been ok, but since he surrendered civilized actions are called for. Had he killed his prisoner, he would have received no mercy from Cal, but Cicily herself said he took pains to avoid hurting her.

Besides, I really would like the name of the enemy agent in Woodbridge.

male

I will not be doing any recruiting for any games on these forums. However, if any of you have a friend, one you like to play in PbP games with here, who might be interested in joining this game it would make me very happy if we could find a Maetaur player character who could stick around for a while, and who was willing to put up with my ways.

male

I would like to find out how interested everyone is in continuing this adventure - the next thing that should happen is (after returning to Woodbridge, or perhaps not all of you returning to Woodbridge) determining exactly what is to be gained from seeking out the mysterious places Cicily was barely able to tell you about 9which will be a modification of the next part of the Pathfinder Giantslayer adventure path, the Hill Giant's Pledge).

Woodbridge has been a fun place to develop, for me, and expand upon which has spawned other campaigns in the same setting, but if the players feel like this is a good place to stop, and are tired of the style of play I present, we can end this game right here.

So please post here with your intentions to participate in another long adventure, or take this opportunity to bow out of this game.

I've enjoyed everyone of you as a player, and hope all of you the best in the future.

I, of course, will only shut down the game if a majority of players decide that this should be the end. If half or more of you want to keep going I will consider a recruitment.

Thank you

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

If you'll have me, I'll stay.

Male Human Witch (Gravewalker) 3

I'll stick around too.

male

Well that is four out of five active players in this game

I'm not really sure what to tell Marcus, though a long while back I tried to get him engaged in some goings on in the village. He probably missed that post, and I should contact him to see if he is still wanting to take an small, if not too active, role in Woodbridge's growth. Poseus had said he wanted to keep follow9ing the game, but was not able to be active, so we still have him in the character tab.

Marwan:
On the mainland, west of Harrispania, Pallicadia, and Vurespania, the mountains are home to races of giants. What you know of their nature, is based mostly upon conjecture, rumor, and tall tales. All giants, when they are encountered, which is very rare, are said to be dangerous, either because of their short, violent tempers, or in some tales, their buffoonish simplicity. Some folk in the northwest of Alodoa tell stories of peaceful Hill, Stone, and Storm giants who live in hidden valleys and mountains shrouded in clouds. Not much detail is actually known about the habits and daily lives of these giants, and even less is known about races of giants which some say are actually cross breeds whose blood is mixed with ancient elemental beings, these would be the Fire, Rock, Cloud, and Frost giants, which loom large in old stories as far more dangerous enemies, but which are never seen these days. Marwan would be surprised to hear that there are Giants on Urandoma, being that it is an island, but at the same time he probably doesn’t know the complete geography of the island, and will be surprised to hear that the mountains to the southeast of the lands where he is now are actually very high, some reaching over ten thousand feet to the tops of their peeks.

Sorry for the wait on the response. I love me some Terq gm'ing so I am in!

Halloween shenanigans and the site being off line a few times when I was trying to check in have put me way behind in updates. I'll be trying to get small updates done tonight.

Sorry.

Minor point, Terquem...Wiscarra says in her character background her mother's name was Geralda. Its not an important change, Carra hasn't been in the game for over 3 years, but just a nitpick. ;)

We can just go with the other name moving forward. I'm probably the only one here that would notice.

Speaking of Carra, that was a surprise to see her being mentioned in the game again after so long. Way to show the past lore and breathe some history into the current line. Well done, boss!

Calex, Calex, Calex...Skreed said her name was

Wanthgreame

oh.

>.<

So the weasel lied. Next time I won't feel any need to hold Ravena back, then. And I'm guessing there WILL be a next time. He's probably scuttled off to Lograd.

Sigh.

At least Cicily is free. I can put that in the win column if nothing else.

male

Or, the name has more meaning than you realise, maybe you should ask the group about it, don't assume everyone heard what Robert was told.

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

True, I was digging around in a bunch of bones while that whole interrogation was going on.

Female Human Oracle of life (Divine herbalist) 1 +6 init +perc, to hit, F+, R + , W +, Max HP , AC

No need to hold the "pirate" halfling back... probably the least good and moral in the group.

Came down with a bad cold, maybe the flu, I'm not sure, on Thursday, feeling better now. Sorry for the delay I hope to work all game updates today.

I have moved the party to a location on the hill country south of the Green Wood, which can always be used as a land mark when traveling through this region. The Green Wood is to the north of your current location, perhaps no more than one quarter to one half of a mile away. The hills to the south roll in higher and higher elevations until they reach the Hill of the Cairns, the highest hill around for miles. You can see the Hill of the Cairns, and you know it is about six miles to the south. Using it as a land mark you can easily reach it, and then from there you can see the smaller Fox Woods which are north of the river crossing , which is just a quarter of a mile west of MIngary bend. Now the journey from the Hill of the Cairns is a bit southwesterly, and not directly south, which is where Woodbridge would be, however, there is no safe river crossing anywhere along the river that you know of, other than the place you have already traveled from, making the journey a bit longer than it would have to be.

Here, the party can take a moment to discuss among themselves any plans they want to make on what they will do when they return to Mingary Bend, and Woodbridge.

Ho yeah! Trying to enlist the giant to help with the rebuilding of Woodbridge? That's BRILLIANT Rob! I hope we can make it happen!

male

Working up a good filler for a response by Tom the giant. Also, that time of year so I expect everyone to be a little busy. We probably don't want to push a confrontation with Wiscara's mother unless you are sure you have a good plan and we can wrap it up before the week of Christmas and New Year's Eve.

If you need to bounce ideas off each other just use the discussion thread. We don't need to have everything be role played out

male

my next post will roll the party into town.

You can cross the river, and go east to Mingary Bend, dropping off Cicily and Darlene (after she has shared a few hours talking with Stolos - I'll get something put together for him soon)

and then go south into Woodbridge

Do you feel like you've had enough time to prepare for what you plan to do?

M Gymnaga Druid 2/ HP: 18/18 / F +4, R+1, W +6

Sounds good to me. I like Marwan's idea of Calex and Stolos visiting, and Aniktah and Darlene both make good points. 2 visiting might be better than 3, as larger numbers tend to gather more suspicion.

YAY! I'm back! Sorry for going dark for so long guys, our cable modem crapped out. Service guy just left, so I'll read up on what I missed and try posting later today or tomorrow at latest.

Welcome back!

My plan was to update games yesterday, but yesterday we had a fire at the facility where I am a system engineer. A Pyrophoric event in the sorting trough. I was assigned to the Emergency Response Organization and assigned to the Emergency Operations Center. I wasn't released from work until 9:20 pm (my day started at 3:45 am)

I'm a little tired and shook up, but I think I can get updates done today.
