I hope I didn't do something that chased everyone away.
My weekend will be busy. Son #2 is graduating college on Saturday, and Sunday is some sort of special day that my wife keeps telling me I'm supposed to remember.
Nope - still here. But I'm working this weekend. Had alot of last-minute stuff to get done before I started this next shift rotation. Gratz to Terq Junior!

We will be using a Fast progression, experience point track. Please track Experience on your Caaracter Alias, somewhere.
Today we award 250 experience points to all characters, plus a few bonuses
Wiscara - 35 experience points for becoming a 1st level Druid
Marcus - 35 experience points for Taking on extra crafting work
Calex
That was a fantastic description of the ceremony, Terq! Well done- just enough detail to create the atmosphere and mind-picture of the event with out being too wordy. I liked the way you used the Druid secret language in the ceremony. It's often an under-utilized facet of the Druid, in my opinion.

@Wiscara, Large cats are statistically better than small cats, though at lvl 7 the difference becomes the most clear.
Small cats have an advantage at earlier levels, free trip is always nice, because of a fast lvl-ing and higher armor class. Big Cats deal far more damage, especially at lvl 7 and above, and they catch up to the AC of Small cats.
I myself try to imagine the most flavourful animal companions, fitting to my PC and the environment. Question is what do you want? What fits Wiscara?

Just learned yesterday that the "Elves don't need to sleep" thing is a hold over from 3.5 that is not in the rules of Pathfinder. I'm going to skip it this time, but in the future, Dieredon will need to sleep.
Great posts everyone. I'll try to update today.
Going to be asking for input on how we develop the Town of Castletown
Terquem
I've sent another PM to wiscara.
I want to move Dieredon and Calex another day forward, and will post that soon (still would like to see some ideas of how we should "build" castletown" right now I'm thinking of modeling it on the town from David Macaulay's "Castle" any ideas?)
Phineus and Poseus can continue to wait for Wiscara, but I might be forcing you along without her soon.

Sorry for being away, I was playing Skylanders all weekend long, really just being a lazy person.
So quick recap before an in game update
Calex and Dieredon are about to enter Castletown on the evening of the 5th day
Poseus and Phineas have discovered the remains of a murdered halfling on the late afternoon of the 4th day
Marcus is crafting armor and repairing tools on the 4th and 5th days
Wiscara has not responded to messages

Experience awards:
I would like to give everyone the following experience point awards
Dieredon and Calex (for reaching Castletown) 500 xp each
Marcus (for crafting and negotiating with Wuda) 500 xp
Poseus and Phineas (for finding the halfling and helping with the road construction project) 500 xp each
I've tried to recruit a new player (I really would like to see a Maetaur Druid in this game) but so far I have failed.
Alomar
Hi everyone,
I will be introducing the young Maetaur male Alomar soon. He lives in the Maetaur village near Woodbridge and looks after all the animals in and near the village.
He regularly visits the farmers in the village (are there any farmers with livestock? What livestock: cows / sheep? Of course the occasional pig, ever present chickens and maybe a horse) and checks if they treat their animals correctly.
When necessary he will act as a healer for people as well, although he feels more confident around animals.
Any pointers you would like to give me? Anything that is really different in this campaign compared to the "standard?"
@GM: I am ready whenever you are, like to have a feel for the campaign before I actually start developing things.
Things I have already decided for the Maetaur race:
- they do not sleep in beds, but on large cushions on the floor. Stables are considered an insult
- they do not like stairs but are able to negotiate these
Terquem
There are chickens, sheep and goats in abundance, very few horses and cows, and no pigs (pigs are not native to this land, but are being imported by the Aladoans, and it is considered a delicacy, and very expensive, also, Maetaur would be generally concerned about the ramifications of introducing pigs to this land and what might happen if they get out into the wild)
Dieredon D'atarisian
Welcolme Alomar! I am Dieredon, Elven Ranger, and your love of animals would certainly put us on common ground with those in the wild. Although, I am a trapper and hunter of some renown. Looking forward to having you aboard and the development of the race through your character.
Poseus Murandae
Welcome to the village Alomar!
Perhaps you have read the campaign so far, perhaps not. I am Poseus Murandae, a lower class Gymnaga fisherman and novice hunter with high hopes and dreams.
I'll be reading your background shortly, as i expect you'll have a lot to tell.
Marcus Dale
I am but a humble smith in Woodbridge. I can make all sort of armor and weapons, given the time and resources. My father trained me well in such craft. I attempted my hand at combat, but that proved to be...well...HORRIBLE lol. Glad to have you on board and look forward to meeting you in character as well :)
Alomar
Thanks for the welcoming words. I have read parts of the gaming thread to get a feeling for the way this is going. I will leave it to the GM to decide where my character comes in (although my character would probably be all over the bugs in the trees if he knew about these)
Poseus; not much to read yet ;-) although I have got ideas they need to be fleshed out some more before I put them in my profile.
Regarding hunting: Alomar understands that everyone needs to eat and does not mind hunting for that purpose. However he will not accept hunting for sports. You probably know his stance on that.
I guess we all have met, my character is not the most vocal one, but when he speaks he is noticed and listened to (high WIS and CHA).
Now it is just waiting behind the curtains until the GM gives me my signal ;-)

@Everyone:
If I post something that goes against knowledge my character should have, please let me know, I have scanned the gameplay tread, but it is a lot to take in in one go.
@GM:
I read something about Maetaur in Red Rafghams with silver lining on the left (or right). Would I know what that means / has it any significance for me?
Considering Maetaur habbits:
- are we vegetarian or not? I do not really care for one way or another, but like to know.
- I would like to have a secret crush on a charismatic young female Maetaur, will you provide a name or shall I do that?
- I read something about the Maetaur pantheon and the idea that elements are considered to be good. I would like to change that to elements are neutral; they just are, without any presumptions or goals (in the view of Maetaurs). Can you live with that?
Terquem
I imagine that it would be common for Maetaur to be vegetarian (or something close to it, maybe more of a “social diet” than anything else that excludes meat from mammals, but allows fish and fowl).
There are two sisters (daughters of unnamed parents), Fiona and Paulinna McKecknee, who are perhaps the most attractive (Fiona, age 19) and most promising (Paulinna, age 16) in the Maetaur community. Though Paulinna has not formally become a Druid, it is commonly believed that she has a “special gift” and will someday be a powerful leader. Paulina is soft spoken, wise for her age, compassionate and caring, while her sister Fiona, has taken up with a group of Young Maetaurs who have stylized themselves as “The Crescent Guard”. Alternatively, as there are many unnamed Maetuar, you could create a love interest for you character.
The Crescent Guard is the idea of Henri Fautinbino, the oldest son of Cicily. There are only a few members, and he has outfitted them all in the red Rafgham with a Silver Crescent patch. Henri envisions an organized martial “watch” of Maetaurs that would take a central role in the protection of Woodbridge from oppressive actions that might be imposed upon them by the Aladoans. His mother, Cicily, is not concerned with this interest of his, but keeps an eye on him to ensure he doesn’t get carried away with ideas of just where authority lies.
I don’t have any problem with shifting the elementals toward a neutral position in the Maetaur Pantheon. However, I do think the Maetaur would have a lot of “faith” in the natural world and that it tends to express itself (this natural world) in ways that benefit intelligent species.

Hi Alomar! Welcome to the game!
Also- what contacts would Cal have for selling his products to merchants here (I'm assuming I'd be a supplier of stuff and the merchants would resell it) What contacts would I have among the local mages? Is there a Guild or other professional organization I would need/want to join (or for the glass/crafting too for that matter?) What requirements/benefits do these organizations have? Since I'm in town can I pick up the money for whatever my last consignment was & receive my next order?
My take on it is that yes there would be some sort of organization of some type, but I don't know if it would be as complicated as a fully-fledged guild, although I suppose some Alodoan trade guild/mage college could have sent a branch office to the "new lands".

The game launched three days before the spring festival (and we haven't set an exact calendar for this setting, so that calendar day is ambiguous) and now it is the day after the spring festival. If the axial tilt of this world is similar to Earth's and the setting is in a similar latitude to Ireland, sunset would be at around 6:30 pm at mid March to about 8:00 pm in mid April.
The climate is similar, the west coast of the continent is about 30 miles to the west from where you are, and there is daily morning rain, often clouds, and evening showers.
Let's say that most locals eat their biggest meal just after mid day, and have a late evening meal that sometimes stretches into long sessions of social visiting into the evening hours. There is a tavern (no Inn) in Woodbridge called the Bread and Board (a sign with a loaf of bread on a cutting board hangs above the door) run by Oscar and Lulu Oghan and it is often open late into the night. They serve bear, ale, and whiskey (no wine, wine is imported and grapes do no grow in this land). They will have fish, duck and chicken, vegetable soup, breads with butter and jams.

Going to try and get a basic "castle-keep+ village model done up this weekend, and establish places for Dieredon and Calex to visit, also nail down the important NPC's you want to interact with.
For the Woodbridge group, I will try to get a post from Wuda up this afternoon, but right now I'm too excited thinking about seeing Pacific Rim tonight! wheeeeeeeee

"Let us go by her reidence first. There's not reason to pull her father into this discussion with the other troubles they have to deal with now. If she is not at home, we can check at the elder's."
If Alomar was told these "other troubles" can you please summarize? I am having difficulties grasping all that is going on, being a late joiner.
Brother Phineas
Conor O'Lehig is the town's aging headman. His wife L'sbirr was taken ill with what sounded like a stroke (could be more to it?) on the 1st game day. He has temporarily passed the baton of leadership to his eldest daughter, Patricia.
Phineas is trying not to disturb the household of a known sick person in the late evening for no reason, that's all.
I'm sure DM T will correct my Cliff's Notes version above...
