Fires at work are always fun. I hope everyone is ok. I worked in the chemical industry for 8 years and we all dreaded any type of incident even a minor one. Once the incident is taken care of then you have investigations afterward: internal, local and if you are really lucky state and federal.
Glad to hear you are ok.

Robert Macintyre |

Ah. Well then, you can all just sweep it under the rug and ignore it. :)
Hopefully it wasn't anything radioactive though with it being pyrophoric I'm wondering if it was sodium used in reactors. I couldn't find any news articles about it so I'll just have to wonder as I'm sure you can't talk about it.

It was either plutonium or uranium. The waste we dig up from the ground here in Idaho was buried forty years ago, and was waste from the weapons manufacturing complex in rocky flats. We cracked open a drum, a drum that had been sealed and buried for over forty years, and it burst into flames. We were told that the pyrophorics were only in 30 gallon drums, but now we know that that isn't exactly true.

Robert Macintyre |

Ouch! Hopefully no one got hurt. I have heard similar stories though chemical in nature. A boss of mine was in charge of having a site cleaned up that was shut down after being purchased. The previous owner had buried waste in the ground illegally. The drums were dug up and given to a waste disposal company. One of the drums was listed as waste water and they went to move it at the disposal facility it had been moved to and stored at and it blew up with a fatality. Whatever was in it was shock sensitive. It made it from South Carolina to Ohio ok, but after sitting a while there it just didn't want to be moved.

Wow. The closest I got to something like that was just a month ago, when the computer on the industrial blender I work with failed to inject the heat stabilizer into the plastic we were blending. When the ruined batches hit the plastic extruder, with no heat stabilizer the resin burned instead of melting, causing the extruder head to blow off and the burning plastic to release chlorine gas. I caught a small whiff of the gas, but luckily not enough to hurt me. That's as close as I want to EVER get near that stuff ever again! Glad to hear everyone was ok.

In the outer chamber, where the giant skeleton was defeated, a significant number of magic items were discovered. Some of these items are well defined (by me) and will need to be investigated to learn their properties, while others were left "undefined " to allow players to suggest the needs their characters have that can be fit into the WBP matrix of the standard adventure.
These items are
A Chainmail shirt (undefined)
A Spear (undefined0
+1, Longsword, fire (Spell Storing – special) Imolain
+1, Longsword, earth (Spell Storing – special) Argorath
+1, Longsword, air (Spell Storing – special) Zinpharemes
+1, Longsword, water (Spell Storing – special) Surelenos
+1, Composite (+1) Short bow (Small) – Bane – Giants
+1 to hit (magic) requires a +1 strength modifier to use, d4+1 damage (small), (+3 to hit vs. giants, d4+3, +2d6 damage)
+2, scimitar, Mynoralunor “Moon Striker”
+2, dagger, Havaldujjur (dwarven made – probably from Balor)
Rod (undefined)
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (CL 3) +3, 17 charges
Wand of Produce Flame (CL 3) +3, 22 charges
Bracers of armor, +2
In the chamber of the sarcophagi, these items were found
A Large magic Hammer
Seilaigoen Urinsavus’ Tomb
Heavy load belt
Crown of the Witch Queen
Rod of Lesser Extend
+2 Sickle of Spell Storing
Scroll (undefined)
Empty sarcophagus (Karngral)
Blue Silk Sack (Bag of Summoning)
Green Silk Scarf (Scarf of Mage Armor)
Erougagh MacNurrow
Boots (undefined)
Two handed sword (undefined)
Pensheal Havgarruty
Rafgham (undefined)
Staff (undefined)
For one reason or another I have not, ever, been able to find a player willing to stick with this game who will play a Maetaur Character, so the Rafgham and Staff may not be usable by the party.
If anyone has a friend, looking to join a game like this, who would like to play a Maetaur, please let me know and I will try to recruit that individual.

After long evaluation of the next adventure path, I would like to take this time in the campaign to advance everyone to the next level
please level your characters accordingly
As I review the adventure path encounters and what changes I will make, I think that I will award maximum hit points for the level you add at this time.

Robert Macintyre |

Sorry for the delay. I haven't been living in my house due to some sewer issues.
Robert would like a magic scythe and better armor. He'd like to take the sickle to replace the one he has. The heavy load belt would be interesting for him. He'd take the dagger if no one else wants it. Depending on the type of boots those could be useful as well.
I'm assuming there is no magic mart in this world so we have what we have in which case I might take the two handed sword. My intention is to keep Robert as close to his farmer roots a possible. That's where most of his starting gear comes from, farm implements or something a farmer is likely to have.

Calex |

Cal's interest would be in the undefined rod, the wand he has used, the bracers, since they would stack with his mage armor spell, the crown, bag (he is a conjurer, after all) and even if unusable, the staff attracts him since its a weapon he can wield.
The scroll might be able to be copied and shared. I guess we'll see after its identified.
I have no idea what a rhafgam is.

The original intention for having there be a number of undefined magic items was to allow the players to have an opportunity to build some magic items to conform to the character’s needs. I have learned, the hard way, that Pathfinder is not D&D, and that a typical Pathfinder player has an expectation that their character will be able to acquire the particular magic items he or she needs to complement their abilities either through a “magic mart” environment or through the acquisition of enough wealth to manufacture the magic items they need.
If one of the undefined magic items is of interest to you, please go ahead and take the item. Using the wealth by level table, adjust the items properties to suit whatever build you are trying to make keeping within the limitations of how much actual wealth your character should (generally speaking) have by now.
Don’t forget to level your characters as I mentioned above.
A Rafgham is a garment, worn by the Maetaur people. It is a long "skirt" that generally falls to the ankle and covers the equine part of a Maetaur body. heavy Rafghams can take the form of "cloth" armor.

+1, Composite (+1) Short bow (Small) – Bane – Giants
+1 to hit (magic) requires a +1 strength modifier to use, d4+1 damage (small), (+3 to hit vs. giants, d4+3, +2d6 damage)
Also a Lucerne hammer +1
Lastly I would like to trade one item for a 50 charge wand of gravity bow

Robbie came home from the hospital today. He's been diagnosed with infantile spasms which are a form of seizure. I'm not sure how much time I'll have as we readjust so bot me as needed but I'll probably poke my head in a little more now.
Thank you all for your encouragement.

And, a reminder to all my games
I leave for Hawai'i (Oahu) on Monday, and return the following Monday. Our daughter's wedding is on Friday the 9th. Most of the week will be overrun with wedding planning and logistic (managing all the family and friends who are coming to the wedding).
I'll have my phone, so if I have to answer a question I will try to do that as quickly as possible, but I don't imagine I'll be moving games forward much.

Hi gang. I'm afraid I have some bad news. We've had a recent death in the family. My aunt, my mom's youngest sister, passed away yesterday of a sudden heart failure. It was so unexpected and happened so suddenly that we're all feeling rather shocked along with our grief. She was only a few years older than myself. Too young.
Anyway I'm going to need some time to help the family as well as myself deal with this. I'll be back next week. If needed, my character can be botted and I'll catch up. Don't let me slow things down, I'll be okay in a bit.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Calex |

Congrats Stolos! And thank you everyone for your patience and kind thoughts while I was away. I'm ready to start again now, and I'll be putting up a new game play post tomorrow for sure.

There seems to be a problem – I understand that most of the blame falls on my shoulders. I know the game has dragged on and on for a while now with only elements of Role Playing going on and on.
A lot of background information was given out way back a long time ago, by Cicily, the Maetaur Chief of the folk at Mingary bend, about the Ghostlight Marsh, and the connection to Lorgrad’s plans.
I don’t expect anyone to go searching for any of that, or remember it.
I apologize for a game that lacks enough interest to keep the player characters talking to each other, asking each other questions about what should the party do next, or talking about what their character feels is most important to them. I get that most PbP games just want to be moved along from one encounter to the next in a published adventure path that everyone is already familiar with so no one has to waste any time trying to figure out what is going on by asking the GM a lot of questions. I’ve failed to make the game interesting, give it a solid hook.
We can call the game done now, if the players feel it has run its course, or if any one or more of you feel interested in leaping ahead a bit we can get right into the second part of the adventure Path, The Hill Giant’s Pledge, the Ghostlight Marshes.
I would be willing to suspend anymore unnecessary role play to quickly walk you through a few days of being in the village of Woodbridge, getting equipped and making sure you are at the right power level, and then we can begin the adventure proper.
It’s really up to all of you, if you want to keep this game going or not, and don’t feel like it will offend me if you just want to stop playing in this game for no particular reason.
Please let me know if we should stop what we are doing now, and end the game, or stop what we are doing now and get built up to start the Adventure Path proper.

I am enjoying the game though it is going a little slower thank I'd like. I really didn't feel I had much to do in the discussion with Geralda other than look menacing.
I'd like to continue and see how the village progresses and how things turn out in the swamp. If we continue I plan to talk to Rebecca and my parents before leaving.

Sorry for the delay folks- I had my car impounded and had to spend a few days with friends to get to work. And in a purely unrelated aside, don't buy a used radar detector...just saying...

Marwan del Hechizo |

Sorry, my new job has me working 16-hour days Wednesday and Thursday and another 8 on Friday. That makes posting on those days difficult, especially since it's in the middle of nowhere. Between that and kind of feeling like Marwan has little personally involved in this scene and I've slowed down again.

Yikes.

I love role play and your style of gaming. I am all for what we are doing and am fully committed. I have been on a really long business trip which is finally ending June 6, just enough time to get back to see my youngest graduate high school!

I am very happy to see almost everyone comment with their opinions about the game
I see we are all busy with life. I hope the good outweighs the bad -
I appreciate all of you
Here's what I think we do now - make sure everyone takes account a full rest, and decide, as a group how many total days the party needs to spend in the village before leaving. We do this all here in the discussion thread.
I am not sure I’ve figured out how to get the party where they need to be without a lot of overland adventuring, random encounter tables and unnecessary delays. I think about this more, and when we are all ready to proceed I make a transition post.

Calex – wishes to talk to Patricia – possibly other NPCs in Woodbridge
Robert - the Alodoan soldiers which arrived in the village brought with them two horses (the captain of the company was riding one of them, but as you know, he was killed in an ambush by the retreating Tafganor) – With Calex’s help, the captain’s horse, a fit, strong, animal, is provided to Robert. There are no other horses in the village, and the second horse is kept by the Sargent of the company in case there is a need to send a message immediately to Castletown. A mule, also fit and strong, belonging to the Havannis family (Elves) is also donated to the group. – Robert can ask any of the NPCs in the village any questions he has for them
Marwan – manages to find some support from the Oghan family, who are interested in his home country of Harrispania. They will provide preserved rations for a group of six people for three days. These preserved rations will stay consumable for two weeks.
Ravena – in two days of foraging and hunting, and one day of smoking and preparing, can provide food which will feed 6 people for three days. These rations will stay consumable for seven days.
