Did i neglect to mention I ran away? Does his ability reach 35 ft?
Corso Gaczi |
I think I got skipped in the previous round...
Previous round
Watching with horror the demon unleash impossible damage, Corso moves in the midst of his companions and calls out to the crow and asks it to protect them!
Cast Aura of Life
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: Self/30ft.
Components: V
Duration: 10 Minutes
Life-preserving energy radiates from you in an aura with a 30-foot radius. Until the spell ends, the aura moves with you, centered on you. Each nonhostile creature in the aura (including you) has resistance to necrotic damage, and its hit point maximum can’t be reduced. In addition, a nonhostile, living creature regains 1 hit point when it starts its turn in the aura with 0 hit points.
Shiesha |
Con Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Shie-Rex roars again as the necrotic energy flows around her, but Corso’s spell helps to mitigate some of the withering damage caused by the dark magic’s.
She slams down once again with her powerful jaws.
Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 for Piercing Damage: 4d12 + 7 ⇒ (9, 2, 2, 9) + 7 = 29

Edlethron screams in pain and crumples to the ground.
Is Ed within the aura of life?
Allie Hoop |
Ok sounds good.
Nice, Corso! That'll keep him going! All I had to help was turn Edlethron into a t-rex and let Farran hack away with the sun sword.
Farran |
Con Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Dino-Farran lets out a mighty roar as the deadly energy washes over him. He shakes himself and then steps forward and bites the undead monster.

Due to the aura of life, Ed will regain consciousness at the beginning of next round.
The massive onslaught of the t-rexes takes down the demon once and for all.
I'll assume you destory the last of the wards, as well.
As you flee the barrows, the terrible, grating, deafening sound of cracking rock shakes the earth as the six hills collapse. Magical energy sparks and dances around the hills.
The stones atop the large central mound explode in a shower of molten rocks. A great gust of dust and debris bursts into the air, leaving the area in a choking storm of grit. Blue fire on the burning mounds gives the dust cloud a strange azure color.
Soon everything is quiet and the fires fade leaving a field of rubble.
And so ends the Barrows of Solina. Thank you for playing.
You have all been wonderful players. At this point, I don't feel like running any more 5e games. However, I will be starting up some more Shadow of the Demon Lord games, and you're all invited to apply. It's a system that's similar to 5e, but a little more simplified and set inside a dark and gritty fantasy horror genre. The system was written by Robert Schwalb, one of the writers for both 5e and Warhammer Fantasy. If any are interested, I'll post a link here when I open the recruitment thread (probably later today, depending on my availability.

I'm not sure I have nearly enough data, but I can draw some preliminary judgments.
I feel that the power level between the classes played was fairly even. I was hoping to see more of the beastmaster come in to play with the giant badger, but it ended up not used as much.
To me, this says that the badger doesn't contribute, either because it's easily forgotten or because it simply it's as useful as the primary PC doing their own thing. This is a bad sign for the beastmaster archetype, but also states that the core class works well.
One thing we haven't looked at was the balance between "weak" vs "strong" classes, which was one of the suggestions in the initial recruitment thread.
I'm not comfortable making final judgments until I can run a high level game and also run a game with both strong and weak classes together to see how they directly compare. But I do like the fact that these modules are written so even the "weak" classes can do well. You guys did very well with this module, with a solid mix of combat, social, and exploration. I was hoping to see more class stuff in the initial battle, but I also understand that everyone wanted to keep their stuff in reserve, because you don't know what's coming up. Perhaps I should have stated for everyone to use their abilities so we could see them.

Thanks a bunch, bookrat! Fun module with good pace. I'll look into the SDL system and game as it does intrigue me.
Yes I could have aided Corso's banishment and would have in an IRL game but by the time I was around to say that I'd use my feature to penalize the demon's save, the save had been rolled already. Should have thought ahead.
