Alright, so, first things first, we have a minor mess to untangle. After discussing the matter via PM, Alreeneesha could not have actually known about the situation in Kuros with the information/abilities she currently has. But the scene she was in moved on without her so I can't completely retcon the action away. Does anyone have someone hurt/suffering in closer proximity to Alree (she was at the lake) that could have drawn an empathically sensitive person to them? Could use a little help brainstorming solutions here.
Also, speaking of Kuros, things are starting to wrap up there, so Ed if you want to introduce Kim during this game day, you should do it.

There's little Dara.
Not sure if that's immediate enough pain to really distract her. He's got more of a long-term problem.
If I thought for one second that her mom would let her out of her sight after the roller skating/ramp on stairs incident during the afternoon I'd have Chara pull another stunt.

I could have Lim-Môr pull that little thing I have planned if we need someone in pain...

Check one two. I'm doing this a lot for some reason, but it's probably because I've got everyone out right now...
Archena good.
Hermes waiting for asha and pyry to finish.
Kevin may be waiting on Roel. Or other way round. I'll check. EDIT: It is Roel's turn.
Lewis sleep.
Lim-Môr awaits Reviarti
Sara needs to respond.
Tybs is good.

And apologies to all waiting on me. I'm going to update game thread soon here. It's just that it's test week. My school does four exams through the semester instead of just midterms and finals. Great for grades, murder on the workload since all of the classes have tests at once. Or major essays for the english classes since that's what they give us to do instead of exams. So I've been drowning in homework. I actually sat and did homework in physics class today...at least it was physics homework. :)

as a note, the assassin guy is only frozen for two rounds (or until he can make an escape artist or strength check to get out or until 10 fire damage is dealt to him/the ice) and he takes 1d4 cold damage each round he remains frozen

What was it that happened between Morivan and Sadie?
Major blowout that ended in a breakup. Sadie didn't really handle the role of comforter well and things were not going well between them and then when Vai asked Sadie to go to Belsayv and she agreed without a second thought it was pretty much the last straw.

Just to add, this was not my aim have her do any thing more than help a small few on the outskirts of town, she was not there at all to interact with the town game plot. There was a mix up with another players plans that stated to make thing far more complied than so meant them to be. To keep life less stressful and simple I don't think there is a need to have a real in game thing she dos wile the town plot is being tied up.
Let's just say she headed off to help some one/thing/other.
I'll bring her back into play when it's not so complicated.

Hon, that actually makes things even more complicated than a simple redirect to a different plot. The complication with other people's plots is only part of the difficulty, the other part being that she just didn't have that information. And yes, I might have let the info thing slide with a warning not to do that again cause that's not how that power works, if it didn't also complicate other plots, but we need to do a retcon here and it's much worse to have her disappear and reappear later than just do a small course correction now. Really.
There were a couple of events offered already, and I think one might have been put into play. Not sure. Pretty tired and I was doing a lot of posting. The words, they swim after a while. The point is, just give it a bit and we'll have this all fixed in a way that lets her show the whole healing/compassion angle like your original intent. Honestly, we have plot snafus on a regular basis. They have happened to everyone. Letting people help you smooth them over to not leave holes in the story is the best way to handle it. After all, half the point was also to give her a way to connect to the story.Alreenneesha |
Sorry just trying failing to keep it simple. I have no idea how this got so complicated, it was a simple landing post like so many others. She was never meant to be in any main plot lines at this point. Hell I Don't know what half of them are.
On another not
about her empathy powers, its not just her Hypercog Lyn, shes a linked telepath, with other powers all interconnected.
Players in game have having there PCs say things like
"After Arthur stated his comment with an eyebrow raised, Tryko'Sam replies, "Well, looks like some kind of brawl going on. Dead bodies-- wet, giant mech battling something or another, and a dragon just appeared saving some people. Magic thing, I guess? I think there's a few students there. Is this common? Just wanna make sure I'm not stressing the norm out, as it were. Culture shock and all..."
In game in near real time to events in town,
You see Its not just the town that points her that way. She would have picked up the Buzz and the school staff and students where she as in the grounds a much shorter range, I did not add that in. I just said what I thought would make life simple. I'm typing one hand her so cant make things to long. So others know that there is pain and trouble.
What I'm saying she's alien, to her mind she picks up things and get pointed to something, like our seance of smell. All her powers act as one seance in a way. So is its not just the feeling from the town itself she's picking up on, its the whole feeling around her, conscious and subconscious of beings close to her, leading her out to the suffering.
But that all aside,
Ill do what ever you say is best for the game.

I think the worry is she's to powerful to be a student and I can see lynora's point. The way I wrote my post makes her actions come over that way, why to powerful.
My problem simple, Rushing again, got to stop that.
Ok below is one idea I had but it looks like things have come into play in game that may also fix this.
what she should have done
I think if she had gone to the school after feeling something was wrong,
because she's closer to a group to "use her student level Empathy feely stuff"
It could then be
"some thing was wrong" -> head to school -> then found out what's happening and where -> Then gone/ask to help.
That would have been better. I jumped the gun and rushed.
That's where I went wrong. I am more than willing to divert her or do that slower but better course of actions.
Sorry once again.
lynora |
I think you hit the nail on the head in your last post, Capt. If you had followed the progression you described there with her finding out from other students I would have had zero issue with Alree going to Kuros to help. But without those steps it came off as very overpowered that she would just know. But it's all good now and we've worked things out so that she's back on track so no harm done.
Tybalt Baneko |
Just a little odd that Dave is the last one to want him dead. Maybe Tybs is a good influence. XD
Dom Waverider |
What I don't want him dead. I want him stopped. Capture, imprisoned, or dead are all stopped.

Is Aananda in her Lab Lyn?
Hmm...last time I noted her location she was at the factory commandeering their equipment to battle the plague...but that was several hours ago. So yeah, she would have gone back to her (finally) rebuilt lab once it got to the cleanup stage.

ok all I am back for now. 24 hours off line and i think I missed all the cool stuff (for some reason)
so first I have a few questions....
1. Carl mentioned about helping in Kuros, how does he know what is going on there, and what help is needed.
2. Tryko'Sam mentioned a brawl of some sort, where did this info come from? He has been off-world so how does he know what is going on?
3. A new face, (at least to Mel) Hi there Vickory.
4. Magic... did you get a chance to review the stuff I sent ya? i want to include that song in the playlist but need some other feedback (it is your party after all)
5. Mel is in her Pajamas (wearing illusionary clothing over top right now.
6. I can't believe someone recorded a pop version of Mr Roger's neighborhood on NPR (but now I can't find it on-line)
7. Hew Where are you? you still with us?
EDIT:
8. new visitors to the Infirmary, Nurse Julie is probably busy, but I am sure Vai would have found out about Mel being there and why.
lynora |
Carl knows because Tryko'Sam told him. Tryko'Sam has long vision (like can see out for miles) as one of his powers. That's how he was able to see what was going on.
Edit: Vai was more than a bit distracted by the whole thing with her parents. I don't think she was really paying attention to much.
And the girls are waiting for the next available medical personnel. Morrivan is in bad shape, but a few minutes delay isn't going to make a difference. Really she needs the psychologist not a doctor.

Alternatively -- one could ask In Character, so's not to spoil surprise reveals and what not. :)
At least, I feel that merely sharing all these tasty details OOCly, kind of spoils the thrill of discovery, to others, of a character one's playing. Murder mystery with the answer right up front? Not as fun, IMHO.
Of course, if no one else cares, that might explain things.
Cheers.
