The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

I don't see why you're blocking though David: you're emotional right now (Wilder doesn't help with control), just wanting to vent some frustration, and whoops, hit someone by accident. These things happen.

(Also, figured it was a good way for Rena and Asha to meet David).

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Dude, let it go, its more fun, you didn't exactly kill anybody or even really harm them.

You're a PC who gets much of his power from being emotionally charged. Your best friend just admitted he has a massive crush on you, and you ported away to unleash some of your emotion.

There was no time to do anything but explode.

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

They could and probably do see him, I figure they would be around 20-35 ft away with minimum safe distance being 10-15

Dude... you can technically "see" a mile away at daytime... do you know Everything that's in that range?

No!

So why do you assume you instantly know everything about where you teleported to to blow off steam?

Just because you /can/ see doesn't mean you noticed it

Anyway, I'm going to bed now, leaving the post up. It's really just a few stray gouts of flame. David don't know his own power! ;)

Actually, with blindsight, you do, unless the individual uses magical conealment, or is unaturally good at hiding.
(Hide in plain sight)

However, intake and thought on this perception is much slower, rational thought trailing behind what you know to be there.

In other words, he, as far as all unconscious actions are concerned, automatically notices them.

This prevents flat footedness.

However, this doesn't allow you to instantly comprehend /anything/ without it being your /only/ method of sight.

Roel, for instance, is nearly impossible to hide from in ooze form, but his perception is 90ft.
No more. At all.

You, on the other hand, have multiple stimuli, constructing a setup that would actually cause /slower/ comprehending of non instinct-level actions.

What an interesting discussion to find. O.o

Speaking of emotion-based powers, the tail-end of the discussion reminds me of a scene from the Scopion Shards trilogy. Same thing was admitted, then a hurricane was brought into being.

Also, your blindsight has a non-sated range.

A 30 blindsight is worth 2 advanced scout talents and blind-fight, yet you assumed 120.

Roel gets 90, and it is his only form of sight when in ooze form. When in humanoid from, it is 15.

Rules light doesn't mean depowering characters when it is convenient.

Or would you like me noticing renkai because you are "standing in the open" because "hide in plain sight" doesn't make sense?

Anyway, I'm off for the night. I don't want to get frustrated over you two's problem.

I assume 120 because that is the rang of the dark vision he gets earlier, and because if I didn't set a limit myself it would be limitless

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Where does David get Blightsight from?

I know his bloodline grants him Blightsense, but not sure where the Blindsight comes from.

Unless that was a slight error on David's part. If you just have Sense and not Sight, its even more likely for you to have not noticed Rena and Asha as Sense is not as precise as Sight.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Regarding the range of said ability, having be the same range as Darkvision is not a good idea.

Darkvision is much, much weaker than Blindsense or Sight, by a LOT.

Like Endure Elements vs Immunity to Fire different.

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

Oh huh.. They changed it
Well in that case I also have it from a feat chain but it's only 20ft
And as to the weaker bit, one is a 7th level ability the other is an 11th lvl one but I see your point

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Huh?

You gain darkvision at 1st level, but it grows in range out to 120' at 7th. Blindsense is gained at 11th, but lacks a range, which is odd.

Interestingly, it does not appear Linnorms actually have Blindsense in their descriptions. I checked to see if I could try and help determine a fair range for you, but I didn't see Blindsense or Sight listed on any of them.

Shadow Lodge

Huh

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Did a quick search via the d20pfsrd, on just aberrations, and it seems Blindsense is out to either 30 or 60ft.

I think De foul should have Teleported to a shower, and started crying.

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

As a note, first draft had him punching down trees then going for a long flight
Then I thought, he's more likely to cast than to use physical stuff, at least at first... And a forest fire would be bad...
So roof it is
And he's not sad so much As he is confused

four victims, one day, I am the GOD of pranks today, who's NEXT?

Never have I ever seen a devil so chaotic.

If you want to get caught, you could try going for Tyrrin/Ghalen/Pyry, but Ghalen is on high alert just in case other firebirds try something to Pyry. Tyrrin's distracted with conversation though. :)

I hope Lyn's OK. Kinda worried now. :(

Male Human Gestalt Inquisitor/Dragon Knight 16

Indeed, Ghalen will have little sympathy if caught.
He's not a student, so it could go really badly...

I think Loki is protected by the wards since he's a familiar of a student... but I also think that Kiara might get into trouble for the actions of her familiar.

Male Human Gestalt Inquisitor/Dragon Knight 16

Does being her familiar protect it from banishment? I don't think it becomes a native outsider just because it's a familiar...

I don't think it does.

The wards might stop that....

If it's banished the wizard loses intelligence

Male Human Gestalt Inquisitor/Dragon Knight 16

I would think the wizard should be more mindful of her familiar's actions then, yes?

Now now, no need to be jealous, Rena will get around to everyone eventually.

Well, maybe. We'll see if she calms down a bit.

How so? Only thing I can find that's detrimental is if it is lost or dies, and that's just a money and time thing to get a new one.

A familiar can only be x away from the wizard.... another plane instantly breaks bond

Shadow Lodge

But I'm not seeing anything that would actually hurt the wizard.

Unless you can quote a source here, I do believe you are incorrect.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I only have twenty minutes. I'll see how much game thread updates I can manage in that time. I'll remain pretty scarce for a bit. I'm still nearly a week behind on homework. And out of patience with home drama.
>.<

Also having a crappy morning. Alarm didn't go off. Got kidlet to school late. Can't get an assignment done before class that I needed to...sigh. :(

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

There's psych trauma.
If I lost Jer, I'd be a wreck, even if he does suck at relationship advice.
And he's an Ex thing, so our bond isn't even magical. I wouldn't lose as much as a wizard does, but I would take a bigger psychological blow because our bond is more emotional.

Lyn, ignore us for now. We'll manage just fine without you, I swear. We're resilient! :)

Maybe we could take a break and let Lyn catch up with life before us?

Looks like have to. Just barely finished finding my place and then I remembered that I forgot to budget time for laundry....we'll see if I have a few minutes when I get there before class starts. :/

Sounds like a plan. Everyone! No more in-game posts until Lyn gives the ok!

Lyn! Don't even tell us when your reading, only when you're done and all caught up!
