Lyn, just so I have this right...
The building Ghalen is looking into doesn't appear to have power, but the machinery is building a shuttle?
The lights are out anyways, and yes, some of the machinery is running, building a shuttle. So there is some power running to the machines at least.

DK, I went back through and reviewed the posts in the event string with Adon, Sadie, and earlier at least, Djalos. There's some pretty personal conversations there between Adon and Sadie that probably wouldn't have happened with Djalos present. And there are other characters involved in different parts of the scenes as well. It's just too much of a mess trying to rewrite the whole event. So we're sticking with what we've already established. Djalos wandered off during the SIM, got caught up in a different aspect of the SIM, and so on. Basically Djalos had a major ADHD moment. Sadie and Adon got messages from Djalos, so we can have Djalos rejoin the group for the library expedition, but not the Headmaster's office.
Also, in case you've lost track of the details, Sadie doesn't know about the whole vestige binding thing. She's heard Adon reference Sir Allone, but as far as she knows this is some historical figure whose techniques Adon has been copying. (Technically true, but missing some key details there.) And Adon did ask Djalos not to "go blabbing about it". What you do with that information is up to you, but I wanted to provide the reminder about exactly who knows what and who doesn't and what your character has agreed to, so that you can act accordingly once your character rejoins the group.

Thank you for the info, Lyn. I'm sorry that I didn't take the time to fully review before posting.

It's okay. We all make mistakes sometimes. I'm not mad. Just try and remember to wait for an answer when you ask a question before forging ahead. We're all good. :)

Ok cool. I didnt want to say "theres no power but somehow the machines are still working" unless that's the honest impression he got. Thanks :P

A quick drive by post, so to speak. Hopefully more time later. :)
First appt of the week of scary doctors appointments is over. Hearing test came back better than normal (I'm not imagining that I can hear that stuff that nobody else does!) officially throwing out the mennieres diagnosis. Still no idea what is causing the vertigo though. Have to get more tests done. First one is scheduled for next week. I feel like the patient of the week on a medical drama here, where they have to try and solve the puzzle of what is wrong with me. :P
DK, I will be doing NaNo for my third year, so if you want to add me as a writing buddy, you can find me on the NaNo site as Lynora Pefhlawae. Same goes for anyone else doing NaNo this year. :)

Hey Lyn,
Just curious, but what's going to happen to Damiani's PCs? While going over the characters I still want to bring into this game, I remembered one of them was supposed to be connected to Anahita, who hasn't been an active character in *long* time, and then I recalled she was the Champion of Life.
So yea just wondering what's gonna happen with them.

Is somebody going to continue playing Enre, like I am with Ardiente, or do you mean she has somebody in mind to replace him being the Champion of Wrath?
Which, also brings up a different question:
Why is there no Champion of Battle/War?
I believe this has been asked before(possibly even by myself), and I think the answer was because that falls under Wrath.
However, in my reading of the backlogs, Wrath is supposed to be more akin to the emotional vengeance, retribution and the like, vs the unfeeling, neutrality of War.
War doesn't care why you're fighting, just that you are. Want to take over that neighboring kingdom? War. Your ally was attacked and you strike back? War. An enemy abducted your daughter? War.
Wrath, on the other hand, is definitely described as being vengeful. You're honor is gravely insulted. You're constantly ridiculed for being different.
It's like what Thomas Jane's Frank Castle said "Revenge is an emotional response. This is Punishment"

As others said, War isn't a primal enough of a concept. Wrath is something that pretty much any organism with a complex enough brain feels. Something that can be traced back all the way when Australopithecus roamed the Earth. War is a relatively new concept.

Not working for this company, but I think Chronicles of Elyria needs as much attention as possible.

I've always wanted to, but this year more than ever I do not have the time for it. I got halfway through poetry month with random prompts per day once though.
Yeah, I know it's not for everybody. Maybe someday you'll be able to though. It's a good experience for those who have a tendency to get caught up in perfectionism and hung up on details. ^.^

Dami hasn't ruled out coming back after a break, so his PCs are in the background, while I have taken over NPCs and am following instructions on how to wrap things up for them. Ana is mostly in Mentor these days since that's where Vare got sent after he got sorta-kinda-notquite-actually-fired-but close-enough, although I suspect that she also drops in on Bradley now and then. But not that often actually. But some because the Champions are drawn to the place and can't really stay away that long. (Not really, actually, it's not the place that they're drawn too. It's ridiculously simple once you know what's behind it, but is apparently brutally difficult to guess. :P)
Anyhow, point is that Ana and Tryko'Sam are currently off-screen but not gone. If Dami decides in a few weeks to come back, then there they are ready to come back. If Dami decides in a few weeks that he really feels better not playing and isn't planning on coming back, then I'll wrap up their stories in some way or other. Which is what happened with the four Champions that died recently. You'll also notice some other characters being written out here and there. I tracked down players who said they might come back some day and asked if they were going to or not and they mostly said no. So I'm tying up loose ends.lynora |
Well,
Considering Lyn just killed off Asch, Amada, Jim and Enre(I believe) but she's also trying to reassign FCD's characters, things could go either way. Or another.
FCD's characters were different since it wasn't a planned exit and that was the path of least disruption. All of those recent casualties belonged to players that went on sabbatical and never came back. And I contacted all of their players ahead of time to make sure it was cool. Sometimes you gotta give Evil a chance to stretch its wings, you know? And that means finding willing victims. ;)

War isn't a Concept in and of itself. It's a result. War can happen because of Wrath, or Pride, or Fear, or Love, or even Mercy. War can't be a player because it's the Game.

Not to add to all of the things for you to reply to, but that has made me wonder if you've talked to Dom about that at all? As to whether he'll be back around or not?
Not yet. I figured I'd work my way through the backlog I created for myself before potentially adding to it. :)

YAY!!
I finally made it to when Ace and co show up!!
Ima keep reading though, there's so much I need to be reminded of.
EDIT:
Now that I am all caught up, whatever happened to the thieves Raz rescued in Kuros? There was a decent amount of them, right?
I'm guessing they just sorta faded in the background, but I totally have a cool concept for one of them, if possible.

Lyn or DB3, if either of you could answer my question in my edit above, that would be awesome.
Few things more things:
1) Man, Ace was rather jerky early on. It was hard to realise that while it was happening, but reading it all over again, dang. Sorry about that.
2) Would it be possible for a teacher to have classes in the highschool during the morning and then help with the elementary wing in the afternoon?
2B) Was thinking I would bring in a linguistics and sociology teacher(the character I mentioned before having been around at the beginning of last year but then left).
3) We're still in the first month(Sept equivalent) of Ace, David, Tybs, etc freshman year, right? Two weeks or so in, I believe?
EDIT: 4) Would it be possible to be a half-Kitsune?

0. They just faded into the background. That was DB3's thing, anyways, so that's as much as I know.
2. Yes, quite possible, especially if they teach an elective subject. We already have teachers that do this (like Fi as one example), so yeah, that works fine.
2.5 Let's maybe focus on some of the other stuff you have going on. Then bring this in later on down the line. I feel like it wouldn't get the attention it deserves if you brought this character in right now.
3. We're about three weeks into the school year, yes.
4. Negotiable but somewhat complicated.
