I am at that point that I always get to at this stage of NaNo. I hate my manuscript and my characters and my pointless thin excuse for a plot and everything about this whole process. Every word is a battle and I am sincerely doubting my ability to finish the garbage heap of a wreck. Mind you, I've already written 18k words and am continuing to chip away at it every day. I know that once I get through this nasty middle bit that it will get better, but blergh! I hates the middle do much! I hates it I does!
Oh, and Doomkitten, write more words! You can do it! :)

Just looked up Nano WriMo and... 50,000 words in 30 days?! That's a little over 1,600 words a day! 0.o
Yep. It's my third year doing it. I've won both previous years and I am planning to do so again this year. I try to write 2000 words a day, and increase to 3000 a few days when I get near the end so I can finish by Thanksgiving. Because by then I am so bloody done with it. Best way I know to get a first draft actually done but dear lord is it miserable getting there. :P
lynora |
I have! I've just been not updating my bloody wordcount.
And I hit a road block when I realized I got to the bottom of Act II a week in :P
And this is when we start to go off script and add in moar crazy encounters! ;)
Otherwise you do weird things like spending 500 words describing a cat because you're just that desperate to pad your word count. :P

Can I just say it is *SUPER* confusing have two pairs of alias with the same icon?
Both The Yellow Boxes and Agarthian Storyteller use the same one, as well as Taron and Lim-Mor.
Granted, Tare isn't around in game really, but its still slightly confusing every time I see a post from Lim.
Its even worse when DB3 and Foul were posting as their GM aliases a lot. For example, before Pyry got his own alias and that mystery girl who was(is?) stuck in like a weird ghost realm and was getting a fair amount of attention.

Dude, suck it up.
Nero, stop. I told you we should change it. That's rude.
But it was so much work to find this one. And it works so well...
Hah, eat it ya candy@$$. He's with me.
But guys we're confusing people. And they already don't like us.
Well I mean... I don't know how to deal with this...

And it gets better - the avatar you picked for 'Ardiente 2.0' happens to be one I already picked for someone that might show up in this game.

You're way ahead of me! I've fallen behind and I haven't even left the first act! ;-;

You can still do it! The month isn't even halfway over yet! At least you've gotten started. That's the hardest part. Just keep writing! Because every word you write is something you wouldn't have written otherwise, so no matter what you're doing amazing! :)
Progress report: 20k words and still hating everything about my novel. So business as usual. :P

Re: all the Na no wi Mo stuff.
I might join in, in my own way. I've got an intrigue adventure path in my head I need to finish.
No idea how many words it'll be, but I have an ending level in mind.
Might need to buy an adventure path, just to figure out how to format this.
Probobly not as important/impressive as a 50,000 word novel, but... Hay.
(To those on my other campain- this will not impede forward progress in that one. If s choice is to be made, the active one always comes first.)

Hello all, I am finally finished my night shift schedule, 4 weeks of 72 hours a week. plus an emergency trip to Florida thrown in, and to top it off a week in bed with pneumonia....
Finally getting back to a normal life (just in time for the holidays)
and my youngest son wants to bring his new girlfriend to Thanksgiving dinner. (so another trip to NYC in the works)
anyway catching up now, I am only skimming the posts and reading what is pertinent to Mel and Lang for now...
I apologize in advance if I miss something, just drop a friendly reminder if I do.
I want to get things moving with Lang again, I believe he is with Ori in the Spirit realm right now so if I am mistaken let me know.
Also I have tons of new songs for Mel, so she needs to get back to her music so she can sing for you guys.

Quickly learning I don't have the patience for a consistent 2700 words a day.
I'll be lucky if I have it done by December. The Dalesman |

You know Death never said the water didn't catch fire
(In tangitly related thoughts I've decided to say how good/bad each of my characters are at cooking)
Dave: "eh, I guess I can cook, I usually don't bother," (he's not *bad* per say but is over dependent on using magic to aid himself. He is mostly used to buying someone else's services for cooking, or forgo the cooking process entirely and just eat the component ingredients raw)
Arthur: "cooking? Of course I can cook, it's just simple chemistry, right? What could go wrong!"
Grim: "I don't know how to cook...I've never tried" (do not let him try)
Zix: ::I do not require physical sustenance, and as such I have yet to pick up the skill, if the fancy ever strikes me, I'm certain I could learn::
Lucas: (loves to prepare food and is very very skilled at it, he even knows a large selection of grounder recipes)
"Rainbow": "what the hell are you implying by such a question" (doesn't know how to cook, and lacks the sort of paitence required for the task)

Does bending register to detect magic?
My instinct is to say no, but I don't at the moment recall of the version of bending we are using says what it counts as. And I am in the middle of NaNo hell (*shakes fist* darn you, middle of the book!) so I could go and look it up, but I shouldn't because I am already procrastinating enough already. :/

Hey Lyn, you have two PMs from me, though one doesn't truly require a reply, the other one does.
Also, I have a bunch of stuff for a few different characters to talk to you about.(All ones currently in game, I believe)
Should I send them all in one big PM or would you prefer I split them up based on character?

You should hang onto them for about a week. Send the day after thanksgiving. I will probably get to them sometime that weekend. Unless it's super duper urgent. Then you can take your chances. No promises. It's November. Y'all are lucky if I manage some drive by posts. :P
