Another update, we're finished over there in group 1. Next gameplay post will be uniting the parties. Sorry to see you go Faraldur, but there's actually no better time it could happen. Good luck with your new job!

I'm hoping to get the gameplay post up tomorrow. As I said before I've got more RL stuff now, and I'm still in the process of closing out one of my other games. They are in the final encounter. Hopefully within a week I should be able to devote the majority of my online energy here to keep this game rolling and maintain the decently high level of quality that it's had so far.

Female Human (Taldane) Fighter (Trench Fighter) 3, Paladin (Divine Hunter) 7

No worries, man! Take all the time you need, you know I'll still be here.

Sad to see our lovely grumpy dwarf go but RL>RPG, also congrats on your new job. Good luck.

Good luck in the real world!

I'm away this weekend.

Now that we've got the groups in the same place we'll be dealing with a 9 man team shortly. I'm instituting the following rules changes from here on out. The first will be that I reserve the right to boot people who are consistently holding up the game. This group typically has good rates, so I hope it won't be an issue, but I hate DMPCing people, and I don't really have time for it. So even if you just post in OOC saying "Hey, checking in. Waiting on X" that will work. Of course if there's something that comes up let me know and I'll try to be flexible. But basically if you disappear for a few days, expect your PC to be standing there having a mental breakdown or whatever (auto-delay action in combat). If you disappear for 8,9,10 days, expect to be booted/killed off.

Secondly, I'll be putting all the stats you need to resolve your own actions in a spoiler under my name. So you'll have the monster's AC, touch and FF as well as it's saves, resistances etc. If the monster needs to make a save, make a roll for it. If you provoke an AOO, roll it on yourself. I will roll AOOs for you when the monsters provoke. To make this easier I will be asking each of you to make the following macro and put it in a spoiler in your gender line:

[dice=AOO (whatever weapon you use]1d20+X[/dice
[dice=Damage]1dx+Y[/dice
# of AOOs you can make in a round

I will include the same for monsters with their stats. This is simply to reduce the need for summary posts and to allow you to describe the results of your own actions. You don't have this knowledge in character unless you make the appropriate check. Meta-gaming will be seriously frowned on.

Thirdly, we're going to change up how initiative works. I will still roll for everyone, but the highest PC roller will determine whether the party or the monsters go first. When the party's initiative block is up, everyone can post and actions will occur in posting order. Companions will still act with their masters and like monsters will still act in blocks.

If you have any questions let me know. Please include the AOO spoiler before your next gameplay post.

Warped Demonspawn (custom tiefling) Invulnerable Rager 10

For the AoO spoilers, how do you want to deal with things that could modify them that aren't necessarily up all the time? For example, Barek's Rage and/or Power Attack?

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Hope no one minds me bringing Nathaniel back.

I'll make the changes.

Just do the base attack, and I'll modify it accordingly. Up to you whether you want to include power attack in the macro or not.

Female Human (Taldane) Fighter (Trench Fighter) 3, Paladin (Divine Hunter) 7

Do you want me to put anything in Liette's stat-block for AOOs? She doesn't threaten with her pistols in melee, yet, so she can't make any (and pistol whip can't be used as an attack of opportunity).

AoO:
[dice=AOO (large cold-iron demon-bane bastard sword)]1d20+16[/dice [dice=Damage]2d8+10[/dice 1
Warped Demonspawn (custom tiefling) Invulnerable Rager 10

Hmm, it doesn't seem to allow for multiple lines in that field, so I'll have to just put the basic attack I guess, or else it would get quite messy looking.

That'll work.

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

Hey everyone, looking forward to getting to play together and carve up some demons. Particularly that cursed Glabrezu, who just killed Hallf's beloved animal companion...

Hallf's a high perception toting pretty tough customer, but his AC is pretty abysmal at the moment - waiting on being able to afford some wild fullplate.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

@Hallf- lucky for you, Nathaniel is loaded up with Barkskin and Mage Armor and Haste.

I guess I wasn't completely clear about some things, just so there's a minimal amount of confusion going on let me elaborate. Group 1, it's been four days since your encounter with Raina. You don't know that in character right now, but go ahead and get all your spells back, including the new ones for level 8. In case anyone missed my discussion post over in the other game, you all need to level up to 8. You were at max HP before you took the damage from the exposure, crucifixion and dying of thirst. Tsonjin is MIA. Hopefully that covers everything, if you have other questions please ask.

Are they out of Message range?

About 1200 feet away on a gradual upward slope. Group 2 is at the bottom of the slope, and Group 1 at the top. Behind them, there is a similar slope going back down to the other side of the range.

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

Yes Mage armor in particular would be much appreciated, our late lamented wizard did not have it, which was a first for me! I'm sure we can exchange some buffs :) I'm kinda aware of the airship, lol, can I ask what speed it travels at? Wondering if Hallf can keep up in pterosaur form.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Just to explain it to everyone-

Once I hit level 7, the combined strength boost and picking up Ant Haul means I have an insane carrying capacity and a pretty decent flight speed. Thus I proposed to the DM the idea of creating a glider/airship that I'd wear sort of like a backpack and carry the party across the Worldwound. It's being built, and is almost finished.

Now that I've hit level 8, I've got enough carrying capacity to carry it and probably all of you at Light capacity, meaning the ship'll be travelling at 90ft per round.

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

I'll note that Hallf is now wearing Yarra's Evil Outsider Bane Amulet of Mighty Fists.

DM Jelani with regard to the airship, would you have any objection to Hallf in Quetzalcoatlus form - a huge Pterosaur - holding onto some sort of strap attached to the "Airship" and gliding behind, essentially being pulled at its greater speed? I figure this would give him the advantage of already being in that form and a Quetzalcoatlus is basically a big glider anyway. Ideally I would want to be able to release the strap, probably held in its beak as a free or swift action. Maybe it could essentially be wrapped around two teeth and be released by a proper opening of the mouth or some such?

According to wikipedia, modern estimates place its weight at about 500lbs - 440lbs to 550lbs - so its very light for a huge creature.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Alternatively, just wrap a rope around my waist and I'll yank you along.

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

Well that's pretty much what I'm suggesting, but it might strain credulity to hold something with a beak for that long, so hooking behind teeth or the crest thing on the back of it head, which actually seem almost designed for it might be more practical. Sadly I don't rate any of the flying saurian animal companions, and I've already got a set of large magical barding for a trex so I'll probably have to use carry companion if we're to make the most of the ability to fly.

Why don't you just hold onto the gilder like everyone else? If you get in a fight, then you can shift forms. I'm pretty sure your companion could also ride on the glider. As long as there is enough capacity you both can.

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

Well I might, but a standard action could potentially be the difference between life and death especially in this game. And being in a flying combat ready form already seems sensible, especially since he can now maintain it for forty hours a day.

You could hold on in Pterosaur form.

I just can't hold back my need to be a be a smart-ass:

Quetzalcoatlus was a member of the Azhdarchidae, a family of advanced toothless pterosaurs with unusually long, stiffened necks.

;-)

Male Human (Kellid) Saurian Shaman 7 (HP 75/75; AC 18/12/14; F+11/ R+7/ W+12; Init +4; Perception +24)

Lol, back of the hook shaped head crest it is then :)

Basically I don't want to try to deal with the mechanics of you being towed by this thing. You can ride it in whatever form you like. I might just end up making it really effin' big and up the price a little. You guys should have plenty of money. Presumably Kenan will be looking to get another mount as well. That means we'll have a huge creature, a large creature and 7 medium creatures on this, as well as all of their gear. It needs to have at least 25 five foot squares of seating/storage on top of it. Here's a rough graph of the shape I'm going for.

______
____XX
___XXXX
__XXXXXX
XXXXOOXXXX
XXXXOOXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX
__XXXXXX
___XXXX
___XXXX
____XX
____XX

The Xs are five foot squares of netting, which could be used as seating or storage. This will sit in the center of the larger manta-ray shaped frame. The four Os are where Nathaniel will be. Overall this thing is going to be much larger than even an ancient wyrm dragon. A proper air-ship.

Please note I won't be able to post much until Sunday night.

Sorry, damned website didn't show there were updates.

EDIT: DAMN I would have been helpful if I'd realized two rounds earlier. By now I could have Magic Circled and Hasted everyone...

I must admit I didn't intentionally skip you. I just kind of missed it with the whole 9 PCs thing. I did state that if you drop off that the game will go on though. Sorry mate!

Never trust this site on that. I have conditioned myself to check at the date on last post and who made it.

Female Human (Taldane) Fighter (Trench Fighter) 3, Paladin (Divine Hunter) 7

If Sigmund's channel energy hits that demon, I am going to be tickled pink.

DM, could you remind me of your rules about speaking out of turn? IE as I just did, where I spoke after I had made my actions for the round.

It's fine. Long as it's not too long. It'll happen where it makes most sense for it to happen in the round.

Please note I'll be away until Tuesday, most likely unable to post.

Found the b*tch! Light her up!

Will be busy this weekend. Not likely to post.

Sigmund will stay close to Nathaniel, getting out his shield and continuing to use aura of heroism (swift) and channel energy (standard) to bolster the group and wound the demon.

I tend not to post much on the weekends anyhow, but it's even less likely this long weekend, as I have family over.

I'm fine with letting this rest for the weekend.

Gm, Nathaniel has Mage Armor up too; at 8 hours a day duration, he's more than happy to burn the two/three spell slots needed. Is this okay?

Sure, if it's a spell that you always have up (something with hours per day duration like that) please factor it into your AC in your character sheet. Then just go ahead and mark off the two first level spell slots each day.

Shadow Lodge

Nope. She did not cancel the illusion. Just if you attack her or she attacks you, you get to attempt one.

Ah, that was only for me? My mistake.
