I'd like to see a little more conversation and figuring out where the new super team goes next. You guys don't really know each other yet, and you've yet to discuss what each time has been up to. No rush, but this is a good chance to flex your RP muscles in an almost pure combat game. Please take it, and really spend a few posts in character getting to know each other. Once the conversation slows down and some sort of majority approved plan forms I'll move the scene on.

I won't have much time to post today due to the holiday weekend over here in 'Murrica. But I'm going to gladly be chomping at the RP bit when I get back. Crissor and Sigmund in specific definitely are of interest for me to meet more appropriately with Liette.
DM Jelani
Well, the game has been running for months of real time. It's only been like a couple weeks in game. 90% of this game is combat and travel, so now that there's a very loose sort of plotline forming with the two groups and the possible return to the Fort of the Nail I figure it's time for a nice RP interlude. It's nice for me too, I can just sit back and enjoy without having to crunch a bunch of numbers.

Note: I'll be up at the cottage from tonight (after 4 or so pm EST) to Sunday afternoon. There's no internet up there so I'll likely be incommunicado for that period. If I'm lucky, I'll have some cell reception, so I might try to at least keep up with things (posting ain't easy on the phone, so no guarantees of that) in the interim.

Now that we have so many people, we should come up with a default traveling formation that best utilizes our particular talents. We did something similar in my reign of winter campaign.
It could be helpful for the GM and Liette would advocate a tactical assignment of positioning, definitely.
Viorel Ariaza
Well if we want to have formations, there should at least be two, one for outdoors and one for indoors. I will concentrate on the former. Also when it come relevant positions on the glider too.
I am not that familiar with the characters originally from the other group so this was made with rather quick glance.
First divide the characters based on simple melee/ranged. If I have made any mistakes or something to take into considerations please say so.
Melee: Nathaniel, Barek, Sigmund, Abigail, Hallf
Ranged: Liette, Kenan, Crissor, Viorel.
So let's start with the basic premise that our melee will be on the outside to close in and as stoppers while the ranged people are behind them.
Now about the melee folks, to my understanding Nathaniel is the fastest and because of flying the most mobile, and fused form being large he can cover a bigger section. Because of this I would place him on rear guard duty. Barek being probably the toughest one of the bunch would take point. Sigmund has auras so I would place him behind Barek. Abigail and Hallf have a bit more mobility so they would guard the flanks. This is the base of the formation. Two in the front(in a row), one on each side and one in the back.
Then to the ranged folk. I would place Liette behind Barek and Sigmund, this is because she wants to hit touch AC and granting the lookout feat. Kenan and Crissor take position next to our flank guards, with Viorel behind since he is the least effected by range penalties, him being the squiesiest is countered by the fact that Nathaniel is large, wich would be the easiest way to attack.
So something like this:
//B
//S
A/L/H
/K/C
//V
//N
Naturally the mounts, sizes etc. will make it a bit more complicated, but the basic idea should be shown there. Naturally this is all just a suggestion and a rough draft at that.

Would require stealth abilities too. Also with the sort of enemies we have been facing, when(and it is when sooner or later) the scout would probably get rofl-powned if other's aren't there in time.
On flying higher, well that is a trade off, it gives better visibility in certain enviorements but also makes us more easily detectable. Another trade off would be the lookout.(Since not adjucant to anyone if higher than 10ft)
In my opinion actual scout position is not really worth it as the basic configuration. At times sure, then we can use invisibility and similar tricks.
DM Jelani
Being higher up might let you see over obstacles etc, but there will still be a -1 penalty to perception checks for every 10 feet of distance from the target of the skill as normal. Viorel is also right that if there is only one flying character, that's kind of like painting a target on yourself. Especially against flying enemies. But Nathaniel might not mind that with his insane AC, high saves and lots of HP.
Edit:I know what's going to happen next, but with family in town I haven't had time to sit down and make the map/write the post. Thanks for your patience this week.

Kenan is a passable scout with Stealth 13 Survival 14 and Perception 17. But at the moment he's not the fastest.
But hopefully he finds a new mount in a few days. A wolf would be my favorite.
DM Jelani
After a week of mourning (it's been four days since he lost Tsonjin) you can choose anything on this list that's large sized after 4th level. You can get the large at 7th level ones until you take two more levels of cavalier. So sorry, no wolf yet, but there are some cooler exotic ones on there if you're not feeling the horse anymore.
Kenan Borjigon
Kenan counts as level eight since he has the feat Horse Master
Nathaniel.

Okay, let's see.
Capacity: Light/Medium/Heavy
Base carrying capacity: 1384/2768/4160
Base + muleback cords: 4256/8512/12800
Base + muleback + ant haul: 12768/25536/38400
Do we all, put together, weigh more than 1.2 tonnes?
Out of curiosity, can I work in a Masterwork Backpack into the glider to give me a +2 to my strength score when determining my carrying capacity?
GM Arkwright
Woo!
Capacity: Light/Medium/Heavy
Base carrying capacity: 1384/2768/4160
Base + muleback cords: 4256/8512/12800
Base + muleback + m backpack: 5536/11072/16640
Base + muleback + m backpack + ant haul: 16608/33216/49920
So... 1.6 tonnes.
If anyone has some free time I'd be extremely grateful if they could calculate how much they and their items and mounts weigh.

Well checking on the last discussion:
1644lbs, missing Crissor, Hallf, Kenan and Sigmund. Also Viorel's and Liette's mounts but at least Viorel will be getting rid of that once the glider is in play. Of coarse a few pounds might have changed here or there because of equipment.
Just a very from the hip estimate but somewhere in the where abouts of 3000 pounds for the missing people. I went with 300 pounds average for the characters and 900 pounds for the AC's.
All in all unless we happen to come across a copper mine or something weight should not be a problem.
Viorel Ariaza
On asked information.
Weight: 175lbs
Gear: 43.5lbs that is not stored in extradimensional space.
Value of gear
Mundane: 1903.79
Magical: 20780
Gold: 312.80
Total: 22,996.59gp
This does not count the share of the glider, the loot that is going to be sold or the 125gp used as a bribe. So we are about a level behind or since close to leveling almost two or atleast Viorel is. So if we are going to pick up to WBL once at the keep this means SHINIES! :P

After evaluating the animal companion list, Kenan choses a roc.

A note to the entire team as a reminder
Liette has the ability of Battlefield Presence
At 3rd level, a tactician can direct her allies in battle, granting each ally within 30 feet one teamwork feat she possesses as a bonus feat as a standard action. All allies must receive the same feat, but do not need to meet the prerequisites of this bonus feat. This ability does not function if the paladin is flat-footed or unconscious. Allies must be able to see and hear the holy tactician in order to gain this benefit. Changing the bonus feat granted is a swift action.
And she possesses the teamwork feat, Lookout
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also has this feat, you may act in the surprise round as long as your ally would normally be able to act in the surprise round. If you would normally be denied the ability to act in the surprise round, your initiative is equal to your initiative roll or the roll of your ally –1, whichever is lower. If both you and your ally would be able to act in the surprise round without the aid of this feat, you may take both a standard and a move action (or a full-round action) during the surprise round.
While traveling, anyone within 30 feet of Liette may act in the surprise round as long as any other adjacent ally can act in the surprise round. She is considered to be spending a standard action while traveling to point out possible dangers, direct the team's scouts, and generally supervise traversing the worldwound.
Basically, when/if a surprise round happens, Jelani will likely need to take into consideration people's Perception rolls, placement in the formation, and stuff. So even if your perception sucks, sit next to someone who has a good Perception and you'll likely be able to act in the surprise round or be able to get a Full Round Action in it!
There'll be more teamwork feats coming as Liette levels that she will be able to share, so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.
Liette d'Argent
Egads, that mount wasn't combat trained? Hoogh. That means it also takes a move action to keep it from running with a ride check. In that case it isn't even worth sitting on its back then, since it'll reduce her to a single shot a round while she tries to keep it from running off to its death...
DM Jelani
Yeah. We haven't had any combats against non-intelligent foes for a while. But when we do, I usually kill the horses first. They look like food. Basically since the party is already moving at 30' a round, that horse is more of a hindrance than a help. It's eating a charge of endure elements per day off of Nathaniel's wand, and every single combat it has run away. Might be better just to butcher it and eat it.
Kenan Borjigon
Kenan weights 175 lbs + 102,5 lbs Gear
Value of Gear: 20704GP
