You know, I'm tired of consistently trying to do an RP post and use diplomacy and never works. I will stick to action posts from now on. I wasted skill points on diplomacy, but can't do anything now...
Perhaps if your comrades weren't so fast to "pull the trigger" we could explore conversations more. Don't give up on Diplomacy, it will continue to come into play as we continue the journey. To change a creature's attitude may take several successful attempts as described here.

I'll own this one and most probably many of the other diplomatic challenges. Carp's personality lends itself towards a gruff 'ask for forgiveness vs. permission' RP style, i.e. Carp's first encounter with Elmo.
If you'd like me to play him differently.............
Garm Stoutsole |

I am sorry your attempts at Diplomacy were thwarted at least in part by my actions but I saw Elmo about to spring a potential ambush so I sent in a "meat shield" instead. The knight did nothing but advance on the tree to "scout" while I shouted that he was a dangerous bandit killer. A ruse to draw them out only. If I hadn't acted I fear Elmo might have been made into a pincushion. Given that the gnolls shot first, I would also tend towards this wasn't the most ideal circumstance for Diplomacy to shine.

I will have limited access to internet 08/01 - 08/09, playing Disney Dad in FL with my son. Totally stoked.
Feel free to bot Carp, he's relatively rude yet easy to play...get angry and hit stuff.
Thank you

Back!
Well...kinda:
1) Gen Con on Thursday = 08/14 - 08/17 limited posting.
2) Took a new job which is much more demanding. Posting will be less than previous efforts, last week excluded of course.
3) If you need to boot me I completely understand.

Hi! My name is Daniel, I am Spanish and I hope to have fun here with you and my halfling rogue :)
My first thought is specializing him in archery, so I benefit a lot with support like invisibility and tricky spells like grease able to negate Dex AC to opponents.
If you think this will come on short or you really need a buddy in the front line, I can still change his combat focus to TWF or THF where it will probably easier to score sneak attacks.

Trane Loften |

Welcome Daniel/Uldar.
My 2cp are to go TWF, especially since you can get weapon finesse, focus with rogue talents at level 2/4. That allows you to score double sneak attacks with plenty of flanking buddies.

Garm Stoutsole |

@Uldar, Normally you would be correct however as a gnome, I took the Effortless Trickery Feat (Trait?) and I can maintain one Illusion spell per round as a swift action. Quite nifty actually.

Uldar Aren |

Uau! That's super cool! :D

Any extra hits, Trane and Chaandra each had another bandit to put hits on if there were any left. They purposefully moved next to two each.
You both killed your targets, leaving no other foes within reach following your initial attacks.

yes, I suppose we are being a bit speculative

Brandor's Bless spell will not stack with my Bardic Music as they are both morale bonuses.
Strike that, they changed it for Pathfinder to be competence bonuses from my bardic music. Will play on the next round sorry guys.

Kenz Orinar |

some apologies are in order. this past week has been bizarre. I stopped counting the varieties of hell I've suffered somewhere around 25 (ironically, that was the hell of hyperbole) and simply have had neither time nor energy for pbp. between my job in retail management and a bunch of personal stuff, I don't see things getting any easier until the new year and am bowing out of just about everything. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
I hope everyone continues to enjoy themselves on here, and with luck I can rejoin you come January.

Uldar Aren |

Ei Kenz! A pity to hear that!
I hope everything improves in the incoming days!
Up up up up!

Real life always gets in the way of our fun time. I will continue to play your character (the party needs a solid fighter!), just let us know when you join us again.

Uldar, maintaining my bardic music buff is indeed a free action but still uses a use of my performance for the day. I periodically stop using Bardic Performance so that my Lingering Performance feat can extend my overall buff much much longer than normal without using up all of my daily uses of Bardic Performance. This however requires me to spend the standard action every three rounds to initiate Inspire Courage once again.
My rotation looks something like this:
Inspire Courage
Shoot
Shoot
Inspire Courage
Shoot
Shoot
This way my Inspire Courage lasts 3 times as long as normal.

is the big ogre included in the ogres xp?

Can I fire a Merry Chrismas arrow at the gnolls?
Happy holidays everybody :D

Map Thoughts:
This level of the TOEE is very large, and it is getting cumbersome trying to extrapolate the layout in a convenient manner. Therefore, I am going to start making smaller map sections representing the area you are currently in, and am uploading a copy of the master map of the level to the Facebook group.
The master map of this level will, I think, aid us all in tracking where we've been, where we are, and what lies ahead. I have blacked out sections you have not yet explored, and they will be revealed as we progress.
For your current reference, you entered at the circular room 131, and fought your first battle against the skeletons and ogres in hallway 125. You are currently in room 128, and the doorway has been opened to hallway 128a and room 129.
Let me know if you have any questions...

Uldar Aren |

I somehow wanted to comment on this but days passed and I forgot.
So far I am ok on the idea and how you are committing on the maps updating. The general map will greatly help us to find ourselves in the maze as it grows.
One thing that I have seen and adopted is using google docs or other type of online image editor for the maps. It really helps out the GM as you don't have to prepare an image for each turn and players can move their tokens along. All that lessens a lot the amount of GM time needed to run the game. Additionally, the players can see where are moving the others more easily, without waiting for GM updates. Plus the system comes with a very nice control change revision that allows GM to keep track of movements, and you can see all edits to the map from when it was created. Plus using drawing shapes you can easily hide not visited rooms to the players.
You can see an example here. If you have ever used power point or paint, it results quite easy to get familiar with the editing tools. If you want to investigate about it, I can try to solve any doubts you might have.
As always, you are the one investing the most time on the campaign and thus just choose the method that works the best for you!
