History:
A child of the street, Caranthir quickly learned to hone his wits within the poor sections of Oppara. Only briefly knowing the sustaining shelter of an orphanage as he was thrown out for fighting the caregivers. Caranthir then quickly found himself scrounging through the garbage of Oppara. Brutally adopted by a hodgepodge group of miscreants he quickly learned life on the streets by begging, thieving and always hiding from the militant city watch. Developing his wits and dodging the ever present city watch he has always harbored ill will towards those that would abuse the unfortunate, namely the arrogant city watch. He witnessed his best friend Tarandir beaten for running into a watch guard coming around a corner. This misstep cost Tarandir his life and Caranthir has never forgiven or forgotten.
Caranthir, known as Carp to those who didn’t care for his taken Elvish name, realized near adolescence that he was not the most handsome of the boys on the street and resorted to violence and vengeance against his perceived betters. Around this time of his life Caranthir was approached by a priest of Calistria, not for his good looks but his taste for vengeance and violence. Enticed by the foundations of Calistria’s followers Carp quickly forgot the streets where he spent the first 30 years of his life.
The followers are Calistria used Caranthir street skills to help keep the riffraff away as well as wreaking havoc amongst Calistria’s denouncers. Those that desecrated Calistria’s temples were quickly dispatched by Caranthir and the nickname of Carp soon symbolized more than its bottom feeding beginnings.
