Ezra Thorne |

In the confusion, Ezra sees K'leck, Dante, and Payk, slash at a few of the zombies, dismembering in a disgusting and horrifying manner. Turning the other way, he sees two zombies get dangerously close to him before Gotin steps in between them. Ezra's relief came too late, however, as the burning in his arms reaches its peak and he is forced to look down upon them. No longer are they merely glowing orange, but they have actually started to catch fire, the clothing around them quickly singing back. Terrified, and unsure of what was happening, the fire started to shoot through his hands causing a terrible pain to shoot through his body and bring him to his knees. Quickly eying the woman he shouted, "Get inside the tavern now!" before extending his arms to an empty space and letting the flames shoot out of them. With a horrified look, he dropped completely to the ground shuddering and wracked with pain.
I cast burning hands into a safe space and drop prone as a free action. This is in addition to the movement that I made earlier. The Burned drawback also kicks in and for the next turn take a -1 penalty to attacks, skill checks and saves

Khron Stonearm |

Once one of the zombies nears him, Khron weaves his fingers together, both hands gripping together tightly. Getting even lower in his stance, he spins and attempts to bludgeon the walking dead with a powerful blow.
Pummeling Style attack (full round action) on the zombie next to him.

Fortsave: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Flynn and Banana both manage hits on zombies approaching them, but neither attack fells the walkers.
K'Leck is more adroit in his attack, felling one of the beasts with a powerful thrust.
(First kill for the party!)
Ezra's pleading finally breaks through the woman's fear. She is already hurrying toward the tavern but is further spurred by Ezra's shouted warning. She reaches the safety of the tavern before divine fire explodes from Ezra's arms.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Glifdore's words inspire Alden past his bout of sickness, and he surges up from his knee, daggers flashing.

Glifdore |

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Glifdore tries to smash the zombie with his earth breaker, but the crowded area makes it hard to control. His massive hammer misses, though the ground does shake in his immediate vicinity.

With his body shuddering on the ground, Ezra still hears the sounds of battle going on around him, but can't do very much about it. He shuffles to his feet as quickly as possible, while simultaneously trying to get back into the tavern, almost tripping and losing balance in the process. He silently curses in infernal, the adrenaline now pumping in his body with such intensity that he almost doesn't feel the wounds on his arms. Almost.

Khron Stonearm |

Can I enter the square of the dead zombie to try and attack another one? I always forget. Assuming I can, Khron does the following:
His face filling with pride as the zombie crumbles before him, Khron skips forward and repeats his spinning smash, aiming for the creature that Glifdore missed with his earthbreaker. "Rrrraaaaaaaaaarrrrghhhhh!" the warpriest roars, his voice sounding decidedly more self-assured that just a moment ago.
Five foot step, then Pummeling Style attack (full round action) on the zombie in the top right diagonal from him. 8/10 rounds of Divine favor left.

** spoiler omitted **
You can step into the square, but it's considered difficult terrain. This means you have to make a move action, then a standard action attack. in this case, that means your first attack will hit and kill the zombie.

Khron Stonearm |

Okay, cool. I'll remember that for the future. :)

Gotin "Banana" Immel |

I'd like to remind the DM that Glifdore has a +2 to hit his Zombie due to flanking
wary of the zombie to his left, Banana focuses his attention on the one between he and Glifdore
att: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21

K'leckemaki |

Grunting in satisfaction, K'leck picks his way over the newly deadified dead. "Ha! Is not so hard." He thrusts again at another zombie.
To Hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
In case you can't see 'cause there's now a big red X from a re-dead zombie, K'leck is right next to Dante.

I'd like to remind the DM that Glifdore has a +2 to hit his Zombie due to flanking
Right, missed that. That zombie is now dead, I'll apply you r attack to the other zombie next to you. K'leck. I also moved your attack to the zombie to the left of Banana, as your intended target is dead.
Banana and K'Leck team up to defeat the last standing zombie near the inn. Flynn takes care of the zombie threatening him as well.

Dante One Sword |

Crit confirm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
cleave: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Dante's attack on the zombie in front of him is devastating and horrific. His long sword cuts the zombie completely in half, felling two undead halves to either side.
His second attack is not nearly as effective. The armored man tries to bring his sword around to the next zombie but it is stuck in the ground form his last attack and the sword is pulled from his hands.

Alden of Saro-Kun |

Alden picks his way through mess of fighting, determined to have an impact on the fight. He sights onto the last zombie standing, then launches one of his daggers at the zombie. The dagger doesn't kill the zombie, but it does embed itself into the zombies side. Immediately after throwing it, Alden winces. "My dagger!"
Throw: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 4 = 13
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Gotin "Banana" Immel |

knowing the last zombie is little more than undead chum, Gotin cleans and sheaths his kukri and collects his bow. He approaches Glifdore with half a smile and a cocked eyebrow,
Explain! this was too conveniently timed to be random and too simple an attack to be anything other than a ploy. What are we doing here? Why does a backwater town like Tadloten need a mercenaries' guild?

Flynn Miller |

Flynn sheaths his sword and picks up his bow. Looks around to see if there are any other threats beside the single zombie that remains.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Ezra Thorne |

Ezra runs inside after the lady and quickly shoots a worried and confused look over to the barkeep. "Please sir, get me water, ice, anything cold! My arms were on fire!" Tenderly trying to make sure his damaged skin doesn't chafe against what was left of his burnt silks sleeves, he pleads with the bartender, and ignores the commotion outside.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Yorrick |

Seeing everyone walk away from the wounded Zombie Yorrick is confused, but he also wants to prove his value
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 to aid Dante's attack on it. The whip wraps around its arm, and jerks it off balance. +2 to hit

Khron Stonearm |

Khron rushes over to the final zombie, fists ready to strike.
Double move. I'd charge, but stupid difficult terrain prevents that. Can't wait until level 3 and Dragon Style.

K'leckemaki |

To Hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
K'leck stabs at the remaining zombie. I'm guessing probably finishing him off?
"Was not that hard."
If he did just kill the last zombie, K'leck is going to start dragging them in to piles to burn the bodies, muttering something about purifying them.

Yorrick |

Yorrick sheathes his sword, puts away his whip and pulls his lute off his back and plucks out a tune, and sings a melancholy song.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 String
I must say I have never encountered something that my magics simply didn't work on. That makes me sad. I really didn't do myself proud in that battle.

Glifdore |

Glifdore ignores the halfling for a second, and makes sure all the zobmies are down before stashing the earth breaker back into his belt.
"Payk, Alden, make shere there are no more. Dante - " he stops when he realizes the man is nowhere to be seen. "The rest a ya, in, now. No, leave them; let the guards do it." The last part was to K'leck, who was moving the bodies out of the street.
When everyone has shuffled into the tavern, Glifdore urges everyone to a private dining room. "Right, the merc guild. Tadloton has an undead problem, and the gard be doin' nothin' about it. It weren't bad early on, but it kept gettin werse and still the gard ignored it. I got help from some locals and you to stop it. So, that be why yer here."

Khron Stonearm |

Khron settles into a more relaxed as the last zombie collapses, but does not let his guard down. "I 'ope 'ey're down f'r sure 'is toime..." he trails off, shiftily looking between the fallen corpses.

The warpriest follows the others into the tavern and listens to Glifdore's explanation. "Well 'at's as good a reason as any, I s'pose," he replies, stroking his beard. "How of'en does i' get loike 'is?" he questions the other dwarf.

Yorrick |

Yorrick frowns at the news.
It must be because they weren't living creatures that my spells failed
He continues to play his lute but lets off with his song, he does shift to a slightly spooky tune.

Ezra Thorne |

Not listening to the conversation, Ezra is currently gnashing his teeth in pain as he dunks his arms within a barrel of water. What in Asmodeus' name was this? His arms... the just burst into flames. This had never... not once happened in Cheliax. He knew he had some small degree with magic but... not like this.

Glifdore |

ev'ry few days now, they don't do much though. If no on's in da streets they just keep walken

K'leckemaki |

K'leck pauses, looking down at the dead body and then the guards. He then shrugs and follows everybody into the tavern.
The big man frowns at Glifdore's words. "Why would guard ignore this thing? Are guards cowards? And what would have angered spirits so to bring back dead?"

Yorrick |

Magic K'Leck. The dead are not just coming back on their own, someone is bringing them back. That is who we need to deal with.

Ezra Thorne |

Ezra spins around, his hands still in the barrel. "We are obviously dealing a spellcaster of great power, maybe even nearby. Who else could make my arms go up in flames like that?" Unless it was my god... but no... could it be divine favor?

K'leckemaki |

K'leck blinks and then slowly starts to nod his head at Yorrick's explanation. "Magicks. Is better than angry spirits, I s'pose."
Should we try to track them back to their source?
"Do not dead bodies come from graves? We must go to cemetery, dig up all bodies, and burn them!" He seems completely serious about his suggestion.

MiniGM |

K'Leck, lets think a little more about this. The wizard could make them all rise up and attack, we need to find the one responsible and take him out. Then we don't have to dishonor the dead.
Ezra I recognized the spell you cast. It is a fairly common spell called Burning Hands. Whether you know it or not you cast it.
I think it was a burning hands right?

Khron Stonearm |

Khron laughs a bit at Yorrick's question. "Track 'em how, lad? 'ey're a'ready dead," he says, but then looks uncertain for a moment. "Dead ag'in, I s'pose." The oversized dwarf shrugs, brushing it off. "Yer pro'ly on th' roight track tho'. Pro'ly need t' find some o'er way t' figur' out 'ere 'ey came from."
