The warpriest shrugs, heading off to his own room to rest for the night.

The morning brings sunshine to a town you've only seen in darkness, and frankly it doesn't improve the look. You are 20 gold richer though, so it might have been worth it. Your actions right now are entirely up to you. Several ideas were thrown out there, so do with them what you will.
I will advance time as necessary. Any transactions for simple armor, equipment or weapons can be done on your own time, though anything more complex might involve RPing, or at lest a few rolls. Tadloton is a small town, with about 1000 people living in or around it. For reference, Falcon's Hollow has about 1400 people.

looking to buy some holy water but would also like to speak to a priest about the undead

That would be a temple of Erastil. Inside a priest like nothing you have ever seen is cloaked in the traditional vestments, and is speaking with someone quietly and in earnest. The humanoid has deep red scales covering the parts of his body not shrouded by armor. Whatever the actual race, the humanoid definitely has draconic ancestors. The temple is small, and there appears to be no other priest.
You remember noting that Tarquin Jeryl was in the guild, though was at the temple last night. Could he be the humanoid?

Ezra also finds himself awake early in the morning so quickly starts writing to the Consortium about the previous day's events and asking for new orders. Once finished, he goes to the docks and finds a courier, whom he asks to both deliver the message and response. I'm not sure how much that would be. If he has more time, he would like to ponder about whom he could talk to about possibly purchasing a very small plot of land so he could start building a home. He is the first Consortium agent to come to this town, and had a feeling that he might be here for some time.
Knowledge: Local: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 int
Yorrick waits quietly while waiting for the priest to finish his discussion.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 arcana in case that is a magical creature
Once he is free Yorrick speaks My name is Yorrick a new member of the Guild here in town. Father Jeryl, can you give me a few minutes of your time?

** spoiler omitted **
Ezra pays the 6 SP and then strokes his beard while thinking of where to go for purchases of land. Remembering the mayor wanted to evacuate, he strokes his magnificent beard for about a minute before shrugging his shoulders and heading in that direction. He couldn't know what the mayor would say until he tried after all. Pulling out his book of letters, he decides to quickly brush up on the region on the way. Once he gets to the mayor's office he quickly casts enhanced diplomacy on himself, straightens his clothing and walks inside (assuming no one stops him at the door.)
Yorrick
Well I happen to keep my eyes and ears open when I find myself in a pub! I heard mention of a Tarquin Jeryl who was a devout of Erastil. Some of my new friends speak kindly of you.
Yorrick offers his hand. I am here with one mundane and one philosophical question. The mundane is would you sell me some holy water? The more philosophical is what can you tell me about the undead plaguing the town? I guess I have three questions, I attempted to cast a spell on a zombie last night and the magic would not take hold, do you know why that is?
so holy water, a little info gathering on the town specific situation, then trying to gain basic meta knowledge on the undead, like undead traits and maybe basics about zombies and skeletons
Flynn Miller
Flynn rises early has a small breakfast and heads out with Shadow to get the panther's breakfast. They will arrive back in the tavern at noon and wait to see if anyone else from the night before has remained in town. He doesn't plan on leaving town with a mystery still brewing.
Khron Stonearm
As soon as Khron awakes from his peaceful rest, he heads down to the bar to indulge in the pleasures of booze.
And he'll stay there, drinking until someone gives him reason not to. ;)

"I offer Holy Water for donations, but I"m running very low on stock. The recent undead events have increased demand. For someone who I'm assuming must be joining the Tadloton Merc Guild, you can have a flask for a donation of 20 gold pieces. " The humanoid motions to a table with a collecting tin and several bottles of water. "You may serve yourself as you require. However, I think you are more interested in your other two questions at the moment. I've been asked many times about the undead, and I've questioned any that I thought could be helpful, but still I have very few answers. I am pretty sure that the corpses are being animated by someone, though I have been here at the temple when the events have come recently. May I inquire as to the tpe of spell you cast on the undead?"
Yorrick
yes I joined last night and had my first test I suppose. It was a spell to confuse them, possibly make them attack each other. Most of my spells are of that ilk, they confuse the mind. I also saw that arrows were quite ineffective.
I think I saw that

K'leck also gets up early. He enjoys a large, hot breakfast, important for any growin' barbarian cub. Failing to see any of the people involved in that ruckus last night to explain what was going on, he heads out to look at the cemetary. He takes his time on the stroll. If he sees any children out playing, he stops to join them briefly, his deep laughter earning him some glares from anybody hung over in the area trying to sleep.
His path to the cemetery is meandering and far from rushed. Every once in a while he stops to get directions and make sure he's on the correct path. As he goes, he keeps an eye out for any towers or other forms of early warning systems or any obvious zombie trails.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Once he arrives, he's not really sure what he's looking for. Something about some man here with a staff to control the dead? Couldn't hurt to look around. Maybe there's some care taker he could talk to.
In addition to looking for unusual tracks and a care taker, he's also going to check out the graves that the zombies seem to have come from to see if he can find any pattern amongst them.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Hahaaa, nope. I apparently only get one good roll out of four.

"I've never heard of arrows be ineffective against undead, but I do know about the spell. If they are animated, the undead do not react to any spells that attacks their mental capacity, since their mental capacity is effectively nothing. Here, I've put together a few common things about undead for the poeple who are concerned about it, why don't you look it over."
-Most undead were once living. Knowing details about the phase of existence that preceded a creature's undeath is often invaluable in determining its motives.
-Holy water damages undead as though it were acid. Distributed by goodly religious orders the world over, holy water is the only line of defense against undead for many commoners.
-Undead are invariably evil, as are the means to create such beings.
-Undead are healed by negative energy and harmed by positive energy.
-Undead are immune to numerous magical effects, including mind-affecting effects and abilities that affect a creature's physical constitution.

@Ezra
A secretary inside the mayor's office welcomes you as soon as you enter, asking politely what your business might be.
I give a short bow and give a small smile. "I was actually hoping to gain some information about purchasing a plot of land here in town. I arrived just yesterday for work purposes and have a feeling that I might be in Andoran for quite some time. I'm sure I don't have enough money just yet, but wanted information about prices and available plots."
Ezra Thorne
"We appreciate your interest, but unfortunately there is a freeze on all land sales in the town and outlying area." The lady returns to her work, obviously dismissing you.
Ezra frowns, not used to being pushed aside. "A freeze hm? How long would you expect this to go on for? Another citizen such as myself would mean more taxes, and more of an income for this town."
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 3 I can't tell if she's telling the truth or not.
Ezra Thorne
"The freeze is indefinite."
Ezra sighs. 'Looks like the guild will have to take care of this undead problem before I can find a place to sleep other than a crowded tavern.' He begins to walk out the door, but turns around at the last moment and asks, "Would you be able to at least tell me the price of a plot before the freeze? I don't want to keep such a pretty lady away from her work for too long, but was just curious."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 +2 If she is a city official. I forgot to do that with the mayor.
If she dismisses me again, I will go outside and find the nearest city guard to ask a different set of questions.
Yorrick
Thank you, that is most helpful. I really appreciate it and I hope you will be joining us as we try to take care of this issue. Yorrick spends a little more time kibitzing but nothing of substance. He purchases a single holy water.

@K'Leck
Only your first set of rolls would apply. The graveyard is massive, so you spend quite a while searching and find little. You can determine quite a few tracks and scuff marks along the dirt path, and several lead away from grave,s but the graves seem to be undisturbed.
And I'm guessing I didn't find any grounds keeper type character?
K'leck tilts his head, looking puzzled over the graves. How can zombies come out of grave only to leave grave intact? Is someone filling grave in after? What would be purpose of that? He scratches his chin, not sure what to make of what he found. Finally, he shrugs and heads back to the tavern, hoping to meet up with other guild members and get a better plan from someone better at that kind of thing than he was.
Flynn Miller
Flynn arrives back at the tavern near lunch with Shadow in toe. He sees Khron sitting at the bar and takes the seat next to him, Shadow curling up underneath.
So, any idea what you're going to do now that the guild is officially disbanded?

@Ezra
The receptionist is cold one again, giving you a glare and then staring pointedly at the door. You head outside and actually have to search for quite a while before you fine a lone guardsmen on patrol.
Ezra grumbles on the way to find a guard, but immediatly cheers up once he sees one. Walking alongside the guard, he fumbles with his walking stick, which at this point is causing serious discomfort to his burned hands. "Hello there," he smiles. "I'm new in town and just wanted to get information about the outlying areas. I have a feeling it might be useful for my work. You wouldnt by any chance have seen a strange looking fellow with a lantern attached to a staff about town have you? Or any bandits that might wish to cause this community harm?" Ezra frowns. "And if you don't mind me asking... Why are you alone? Back home, guards were supposed to walk in squads, or at the very least, pairs. Forgive my inquisitions, I'm just curious about the culture here."

The dwarf shrugs, grumbling. "I don' loike none o' 'is. 'fficially disbanded? Peh! Sounds loike somebody don' loike us cleanin' up af'er 'eir messes. The lot o' us should jus' go foind 'is fella raisin' 'em monsters an' bash 'is 'ead in. He's ruinin' a perfectly good city, an' my chance t' foinally do Torag's work." Khron takes another drink, the alcohol not seeming to affect him at all. "You saw 'ow we handled 'em last noight. Cuttin' 'em off at th' source woul'n't be a problem for us. An' I don' know 'bout you, but I don' loike 'at Mayer fella. Fixin' th' problem to spoite 'em sounds loike a good plan, eh?"

Yorrick walks in at the tale info Kron's statement
I suggest picking up some holy water from the good father at the tmepe of Erastil, especially if we want to bash the head in. He says as he takes a seat and sharpens his short sword.

"In a town as small as this, only need one guard at a time."

"Right, ya, come in who'ver it is." The shack inside is just as run down, with worn, and in some cases broken, furniture, sticky floors and mismatched amenities. Glifdore is inside, holding a stick with some kind of meat to the flames from the hearth. "Bananuh, what you be here for?"

Ezra Thorne wrote:Ezra nods in understanding then repeats his other questions.
Do I need a roll?
No roll needed, that's just his entire response. As you press the questions:
"Oh, you were serious about that? I thought someone had put you up to it. Haven't seen anything like that in my life."
Ezra sighs. "Ah well, I suppose it was worth a try." He takes five coppers out of his pocket and hands them to the guard. "Thank you for your time... and if you see anything, would you mind telling me when you are off? Oh, by the way, I'd ask your Captain to assign you a partner. In Cheliax, studies have shown that not only is a guard safer with someone else watching their back, but overall morale and happiness improve as well."
With that, Ezra shambles off, back to the tavern, upset he didn't learn anything, but at least content that he delivered his message.

remember, I asked if we could talk this morning?
silently he begins to fiddle with the pack he brought with him. he pulls out his camping pot and puts it to one side of the hearth fire to heat it. Once hot, he tosses in a few handfuls of what look like pale, tan cherry stones and begins to shake the pot, skillfully tossing the stones within rapidly until they're roasted a dark brown. He unrolls a clean, tanned hide and piles the hot roasted stones on top of it before beginning to crush them with the flat of his kukri until they resemble coarse sand. He next pulls out a warped iron carafe and puts the crushed pits within along with a a bit of fresh water from his skin and puts it in the fire.
this is something I've shared with elves and dwarves alike. 'seems to be something you both have a taste fore, though for different reasons, of course. It's called coffee. remarkably easy to come by, but no one seems to drink it in this part of the world before I introduce it to them
he shrugs as the water starts to boils and the brewing coffee starts to give off a sharp, acidic aroma, something like copper and chocolate. He pulls the carafe from the fire with a set of tongs and finally breaks apart a bit of honey comb into it before pouring its contents into two chipped, stone mugs he finds somewhere in the hovel. He hands one to Glifdore.
here, 'sbetter with some goat's milk, but I've seen most dwarves prefer it black once they get a taste for it
he sips some of his own, obviously relishing the taste.
tell me, sir, how long have you known Payk, the two of you seem close?

Glifdore barks a laugh. "Close, no ones really close with Payk. Every'ne in town knows of him now, but no one knows him. When I asked him about the idea for a merc guild he said I should do it, so he has that going for him. "
