Draalush I believe you're a round ahead of me, and the round 5 shot did hit. even with the melee penalty

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Oops! I deleted that last one, then, since it was less than an hour ago.

who acts now?

Karla and Hashik

I'm not concerned about order, whatever gets this moving

Ifrit bard 5 CN Init +5 AC 18, touch 16, flat-footed 12 hp 31/40 Fort +3, Ref +9, Will +4; +4 vs. bardic performance, language-dependent, and sonic Resist fire 5, Perception +8 Sense Motive +7

Okay then

Anger flashes hotly across Hashik's angular face.

"That will not go unanswered!"

Hashik goes into a spinning dervish dance!

To hit with battle dance: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 1 = 29 Threat!
Damage: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
To confirm: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 = 15
Additional Croat damage if good: 1d6 ⇒ 4

And draws his curved blade across the badger attacking him!

Karla moves five more feet back, and looses another spell

magic missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9 at the badger hashik struck

Samias will 5 foot step back and attack for attack, damage: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 - 2 = 191d10 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12damage

Badgers

Spoiler:
attacks: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 221d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 221d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 231d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 141d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

the one attacking Samias will 5 foot and full attack. since I didn't see you move Hashik the two attacking you will 5 foot flank you and full attack.

Samias takes a bite and claw attack and 1d4 + 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + (3) + 6 = 11 damage, Hashik took a bite and 2 claws and 1d4 + 2d3 + 9 ⇒ (4) + (2, 1) + 9 = 16 damage.

Round 6

Adriala will cast, flank the badger next to Samias and and touch attack1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11. its a hit, and nothing happens.

the badger Adriala and Samias are next to are heavily bleeding. one of the badgers flanking Hashik is also bleeding heavily. anyone can get to any badger in one move action.

Karla, Hashik and Draalush

Draalush if you want to use the rolls for the crossbow you deleted I believe it was a hit for 2 damage

Round 6
Draalûsh tries shooting the most badly injured badger, again:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

@ DM_Smiles: Same results as last time. Which is fine.
I guess the site remembers deleted rolls like that to prevent players taking liberalities with their postings! :o

Hashik attempts to end the one harrying him.

1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 = 13
1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7

"Dammit! And dextrous!"

Samias will 5 ft step to the side and shoot the almost dead one flanking Hashik attack, damage: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 251d10 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10. it dies and Samias draws a dagger.

Spoiler:

badger next to Adriala will 5 ft up to Samias and full attack, and the one attacking Hashik will full attack. Samias takes 1d4 + 1d3 + 6 ⇒ (2) + (3) + 6 = 11 damage.

Adriala will take out her falchion, 5 ft step, and power attack ferocious strikeattack, damage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 162d4 + 8 ⇒ (1, 1) + 8 = 10

Karla, Draalush, Hashik

Round 7
Draalûsh shoots at the badger that attacked Samias:

these things are persistant.
magic missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9 at the nearest badger

unfortunately the shot Draalush shoots misses, as it is no longer suffering AC penalty for charging. Karla's magic missile kills the one inbetween Samias and Adriala.

Samias is going to drop the dagger, reload, then attack the badger by Hashik attack, damage: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 2 = 151d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Spoiler:
attacks: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

the badger full attacks Hashik and misses it all.

Adriala will charge into a flanking position with Hashik and power attack/ferocious strike the badger attack, damage: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 1 = 272d4 + 8 ⇒ (1, 2) + 8 = 11

Round 8
Draalûsh tries shootinng at theh last badger:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

it's dead, looking back there is a dead horse dragged halfway out of camp. George is finishing off the badger that was trying to drag it off, with another badger corpse to the side. "stubborn little s+#*s aren't they? HEY ARE THE REST OF THEM DEAD YET?!" he yells back to the camp

"YEP!" final casualty count is one horse, one merchant, and a mercenary in critical condition.

Adriala is gonna start dragging the badgers to the cart.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

"That certainly took long enough!"
"I sure hope that's not a normal occurrence."

"so much for solitary hunters Wonderboy, we probably trailed them behind us the last 2 days and they joined up on the road."looking down "guess we're having horse stew today, tonight, and the next 3 days. what a Charlie Foxtrot."

Adriala now has 3/5 badger corpses on the cart

Are badgers pack animals? If not, then maybe someone was controlling them. We could get further attacks.

Ifrit bard 5 CN Init +5 AC 18, touch 16, flat-footed 12 hp 31/40 Fort +3, Ref +9, Will +4; +4 vs. bardic performance, language-dependent, and sonic Resist fire 5, Perception +8 Sense Motive +7

"Yes . . . this is more than strange Karla. Its more like Wererats of city sewers and stinks to high heaven. lets help collect the ones we killed. We also need to watch our backs because of our success we will be targeted should an attack be organized again."

"Adriala, could you heal the merc, we will need his sword, we can't afford to lose even one."

5/5 badgers are loaded onto the cart. "sure sure, but if these crybabies can't defend the caravan against a pack of stupid overgrown badgers, I shudder to think what will happen if we should meet some actual resistance." she walks over to the man to touch him and he stops bleeding. "best he's gonna get till tonight, he'll last."

Christmas is past and I'll assume no-one has anything else to say about the fight. you've stayed camped out here for the night and well into the next day. 1 more badger came up to the caravan and was promptly shot ~20 times by the guards before you all could react. Hashik, Adriala, and the guard all got a cure moderate wounds for 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6 healing. he wakes up. the rest of the spells she scatters among the PCs, you'll be healed to full by next battle

the caravan leader is a bit miffed when Adriala demands payment for the badgers, but is cut off by George saying "just pay them, they kept half of the badgers from even ENTERING the caravan, and without that clerical healing we'd be thoroughly screwed even now. by the way Missy, which god do you follow?"

without hesitation Adriala answers "Gorum, came in with the mercenaries."

you're getting 500gp per pelt totaling 2,500gp caravan leader comes out grumbling about singed pelts.

Samias has unfortunately quit the campaign, thoughts on anyone replacing him onto the discussion thread

the caravan will be staying here for 6 days anything anyone wants to do or add before you all next move out?

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Gladly accepting the payments Adriala's powers of persuasion procured, will try to smooth over her rough edges with the merchants:

"You're more than generous. Especially in these trying times."
"It was indeed fortunate that we were here to help you."

diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

While the caravan stays still for 6 days, Draalûsh will just keep himself to himself for the most part.

"yes, thank you Draalush was it? the name's Charlie. I guess I should be more grateful for your assistance. though I do think this will be the last of our troubles. there are many juicier targets than us on the road after all. shame about Bobby though."

will need you all to roll initiative for the next fight

Adriala and Samias: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Samias survival roll for the week: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

with that survival roll Samias tells everyone "there will be a rainstorm on Wednesday." on the first day you all move out (Monday).

Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

”Rain!?” <<<moan>>> “Wet means mud. My boots will get all soiled.”

on the day of:

"worse than that, no-one will believe me after I said that badgers are solo hunters. that arrogant ass of a caravan leader says it never rains in the desert. the road will mud up and we'll be stuck in a drawn out line in one hell of a rainstorm" Samias complains.

reminder that combat will be done in enemy/ally chunks. in the name of expediency just take your turn whenever, then all the enemy(s) will take theirs

George comes to the back of the caravan where your cart is and says "he still moaning about the rain like a superstitious old woman?" with a stupid grin on his face

Male Human Magus (inactive)

"Best not to take chances."
"True, it seldom rains in a desert."
"But when it does, it's a deluge."

diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

@ DM_Smiles:
Just trying to get the caravan leader to put a sock in it.
But in a nice way...

it is not enough

he just says "it's not gonna rain right today, and we're not stopping. we've lost enough time as it is."

any further attempts would be pointless at this time.

an hour later you hear the thunder, the rain comes, the road muds up as predicted, and you're all stuck. you aren't in a floodplain, but the visibility conditions are terrible. no one can see past 30 feet, it's all difficult terrain off of the cart, and anything past melee range gets partial concealment.

you are all mostly totally prepared for this fight

there comes a giant worm creature flopping towards your cart(medium size). the front part is a weird mouthpart with eyes inside and multiple tentacles coming out of it. it is 30 feet out. you all go first.

Male Human Magus (inactive)

Hashik goes first?

Samias yells out over the rain"guys that's a grick, we need magical weapons to bring that down... we need to keep it away from our horse!"

he sets his bow down, takes out his longsword, and moves to be in between it and the horse.

just as predicted it starts to wildly and almost comically flop around in the mud, and ends its turn right in front of Samias, Hashik the attack hits, but it feels like the screwiest and strongest rubber you've ever tried to cut and it just bounces right off, almost hitting you right back in the face.
