Oh, no, I get it. I guess I'm just trying to make him feel like a different character than Wrixx. I don't want them to just be basically the same kind of guy. Honestly, one of the easiest ways to handle him that I could see was to just have had him sign up with one of the previous expeditions and having gotten killed. Or have a Technic League stooge grab him, in which case he's probably in a dungeon in Starfall, or wherever they keep prisoners, assuming they didn't just kill him.

There was some discussion in chat about what being blinded entails, since it is difficult to arbitrate.
The rules for groping around for invisible characters are pretty clunky, though they work well enough for someone that is going out of their way to be unseen. Not so much if all of your friends can't see it, but only you can't. The Perception check DC for noticing the sound of battle is abysmally low, and it isn't like being invisible makes you any less noisy if you aren't making Stealth checks.
That said, I'll rule that all of the usual penalties for being blinded still apply, but provided that you have allies pointing you in the right direction, and that the creature in question isn't being stealthy or in an area of silence or something, you can target enemies engaged in combat freely.
So for example, Anna already has a general idea of the blindheim's last position, and can pretty clearly hear Morgan and Dar'Shyn wailing on it. She could stumble her way over and attack it, but would have to roll against concealment and whatnot. Ditto for Wrixx, except he still can't legally hit it with spells that specifically require a target.
But if you guys all go blind at once, it'll be more of a crapshoot, so, uh, try to avoid that. :P

Hey friends!
Since Fal and I will be on vacation, I figured I'd check in to give Mahorfeus some guidance for how to bot Anna while I am gone. Please bot Anna until next Tuesday evening.
Anna prefers to engage enemies in melee combat, though her bow is always available in case an enemy tries to flee somewhere she cannot pursue. Against robots or obvious androids, she always enrages. Otherwise, she only enrages when driven to 50% health or lower. Anna always utilizes power attack unless she finds that she is missing on D20 rolls of 12 or less. In that case, she switches to normal attacks, valuing the accuracy over the increased damage.
Anna prioritizes killing robots and androids first, and in lieu of such enemies, engages the biggest looking enemy available.
Morale-wise, Anna will always try to be the last person in the group to flee combat. She is not so reckless that she would fight to the death. She would rather live to continue to protect those she cares for than die trying to prove a point. (The sole example to this is of course her husband's killer... but I don't suspect that will be anywhere near here :p)
As for Dar'shyn, Dar'shyn always waits for Anna's prompting to enter combat, and Anna's prompting to leave combat. Otherwise he takes the shortest route to an enemy, preferring the one Anna is attacking, and always making trip attempts against enemies on successful bite attacks.
Also of note, Anna will never drop Dilynwyr for any reason (such as to make it easier for her to switch to her bow). Dilynwyr is her most precious possession, so she keeps the axe attended at all times.
Have a good week!

It slipped my mind to check the map while I had access to a PC last night. Sorry!

I feel that this is an acceptable setup for positioning! What's fun, is having the darkvision folks up front to all get ambushed together, leaves us to round a corner and AMBUSH THE AMBUSHERS.
And double our wealthy by looting our dead friends' bodies. :)
Pragmatism!

Wrixx, The River Rat |

Hey guys.
I'm making a quick post in all of my games to tell people that I'm going on vacation early tomorrow morning and will be away for a week. I should still have internet access and will try to post in the evenings or if I have free time, but if I post more slowly than usual or seem to miss a day or something, it's just because I'm away and probably busy.

Mahorfeus |

Just a disclaimer, of sorts.
Since I don't have interactive lighting, you can't really turn a corner and find an enemy standing there, since I have to manually reveal areas on the map. Which might make a few things a bit weird in some cases. While I can assure you that I won't use this fact to screw you all over, it is still rather inconvenient.
There are a few potential solutions I can think of, but I'd like to hear any thoughts you might have. :)

Just make lots of shrieking noises and thumping sounds in the distance. As we move forward to figure out what's going on, we find that they've destroyed themselves with their traps. Problem solved. :P

As evidence may suggest, it is mostly just the procrastinating. :P
But I suppose my poor sleep schedule is to blame as well. I wake up early and stay up really late. Makes it really difficult to focus on posting in the mornings, when it would be most convenient for me to do so.
Otherwise things are going fine, thankfully.

Anna of Clan Stormlord |

Yeah, I honestly try to plan ahead for a time every day to post rather than waiting for everything to line up haha. It's the only way some days. And if I know that the day is too jam-packed to post then I will check in and say so, usually on discord.

Mahorfeus |

Hey folks.
I've given it a lot of thought over the past week and unfortunately, I've come to the decision to close the curtain on this little adventure. My previous excuses aside, I've more or less realized that I like the idea of play-by-post GMing a lot more than actually doing it. Delivering a meaningful, interactive narrative sounds fun, but it takes a crazy amount of work. Work which I am consistently unwilling or incapable of putting out.
Maybe I'll experiment with running a game over Discord in the future, but until then, I think I am perfectly content with just being a player. :)

Anna of Clan Stormlord |

Okay :) I'm sorry to hear that, but it is better to call it quits rather than let it drag on half-heartedly.
Thanks for the heads up!

Fal the Fixer |

Agreed, better to do things ya find enjoyable. Hopefully we can get a Discord-based game one day like you mentioned!

How dare you not let me gracefully bow out!? YOU MONSTER.
