Wrixx, The River Rat |
Ironically, I get Craft Wondrous Item for free at 3rd level from my bloodline and get to ignore one pre-req spell, plus an additional pre-req at 9th, 15th, and 20th levels.
Era Naucht |
Not-Craft-Wondrous, it is!
Wrixx, The River Rat |
Hypnotism kind of sucks as a combat spell. Honestly, most 1st level enchantment spells do other than maybe bungle. I was planning to use it more out of battle. He has daze, jolt, and good old fashion magic missile for combat at 1st level.
Era Naucht |
Nah, it's fine. :)
It really is a great call. And grossing people out by touching them as a rat is also good. :3
You just have to promise to take the unnatural lust spell, or I'll judge you forever.
Wrixx, The River Rat |
It is a good distraction spell, assuming you can leverage that the target would actually feel attraction. Not great against robots, but good for other things. I kind of want to take hideous laughter and defeat robots with the power of laughter.
TheCelticCircle |
At high levels, my character should be able to control constructs too, should be cool!
Otherwise, will mostly use healing and hexes, so not much toes to step on there.
If someone is interested in taking some feats to sunder stuff it might help with the erosion ability I have. It could lead to really quick debuffs on enemies.
Also, sorry for the time it's taking me. My parents were visiting, so I could not spend huge amounts of time on character creation. I should be good for the rest of the week though (and then I am moving!).
Era Naucht |
Are you saying that robots aren't attracted to Barbarianna? :O
Anna of Clan Stormlord |

Only if you provide amazingly terrible robot puns each time. >:o
Fal the Fixer |
Ok, swapped out Disable Device on Fal for Know(Geography), and swapped out a trait so she'd be better at Knowledge(Local) at the expense of some disguise skill. Since she's just trying to appear human, and androids already do for the most part, she shouldn't need two traits worth of disguise bonuses :p
Need to edit her statblock, will do so in a bit.
Mahorfeus |
All right, I've put a link to a map of Torch up in the campaign header - let me know if it doesn't work. Any character that has lived in Torch for a significant period of time can feel free to pick a small, unmarked house to live in.
I believe that I am about ready to get started. I have a few more things I want to finalize, but I can take care of that before the first encounter starts.
For now, I can either plop you guys in spots across town, or you can feel free to start wherever.
Anna of Clan Stormlord |
Cruodh -
Cruodh killed Kanata? Grr! Smash! (I kid.)
So is Cruodh a bleachling?
Era/Fal -
Since your characters are friends of Khonnir, and Anna was saved by Khonnir, would it be fair to say we've already met? I think so.
Era -
I was kind of hoping Era was present when Khonnir saved Anna, if that's cool with you.
GM -
Could you provide some small details about each location on the Torch map? Like a gazetteer?
Cruodh the Wanderer |
Nope, not a bleaching....although the image suggests otherwise. I've been trying to work on his background and description as quickly as possible while using a nice writing style.... so it's slower than usual.
Regarding Kanata, he would not have said... and simply pledged his service to her (Anna), out of the blue. Actually, Mahorfeus, should I consider that Cruodh already met with Anna? For how long?
Wrixx, The River Rat |
Given that Wrixx has only been in town for a little while (I don't picture him actually having been there longer than a week or two), he's probably staying at the inn. Since he and Fel have met, he's probably been keeping in touch to get a feel for the locals and situation in town.
Cruodh the Wanderer |
Just finished the detailed background. I might make edits to improve the text, but the information I want is there.
Mechanic wise, I am still unsure about the alignment I should take. I like making good characters, but I haven't found Cruodh's motivation to be selfless.
Also, I am wondering if I should take the sage archetype for the familiar. What do you all think?
Finally, for those who don't know, the gameplay thread is up!
Era Naucht |
Yup! I dotted, then deleted the post, which makes it show up in the campaign tabs, but doesn't add a post. :)
Era's familiar is a VALET.
Fal's will be a FIGMENT (I think).
Morgan Ironskin |
I also did the invisi-dot. I believe we're waiting on Mahorfeus to give his permission to let us actually post for real.
I see Morgan evolving to Good, but right now she is starting at True Neutral, because I don't see her being concerned with moral matters at all for the moment. Generally, my opinion about alignment is that unless you have something specific you want, you should be True Neutral.
Sage familiars are pretty cool, go for it, especially if Cruodh might not be that intelligent himself.
Wrixx, The River Rat |
I meant to, but I forgot to delete it :P
But yeah, I think a Sage familiar would be neat too. I don't think I've seen familiar archetypes used all that often.
Era Naucht |

Kiora, would ANNA be interested in being HUGIFIED? If not, I will not prepare the HUGIFY spell.
Wrixx, The River Rat |
I just realized that I was an idiot and forgot to finish designing Wrixx's missing partner. I'll whip him up with a backstory and a 1st level build maybe. It might come in handy if he's not dead. Maybe I'll make him a Ranger or a Slayer or something like that.
Era Naucht |
Make him LEVEL FOUR so that you can gain SIX LEVELS in the time he gains ONE and be like 'ha, you suck.'
Wrixx, The River Rat |
Alright, I think I worked out a few details, but I'm kind of stuck between two concepts, so I thought maybe a second opinion might help me work things out.
The basic backstory is that Wrixx's partner is from Outsea, one of the River Kingdoms with a very high population of aquatic beings. One of his parents was one of them, while the other was human. I'm leaning toward human with a fey or marid or something like that, but I could do a half-aquatic elf too. He left because he didn't really feel at home there, being too tied to the land. While traveling the other river kingdoms, he met Wrixx in the Protectorate and they bonded over disappointing their parents. They ended up going into business together as smugglers and have been partners ever since.
The two builds I'm looking at are either Freebooter Ranger or Urban Bloodrager with an appropriate bloodline, probably Fey or Elemental (Water).
Fal the Fixer |
Yeah things are nuts tonight apparently :o
Mahorfeus |
Sorry about the delay, everyone. I ended up having to rewrite my post twice for reasons.
I still need Morgan to join the Roll20, but everything otherwise appears to be in order. As you might have noticed, I don't have the fancy bells and whistles, so I will be revealing different areas on the map manually. This will make things like darkvision more difficult to enforce, but I do not believe it is anything we cannot handle.
Mahorfeus |
Okay, so it took me way longer than it should have, but I have everyone's encumbrance tracked on this document.
Assuming I did not miss anything, Cruodh and Morgan currently have a medium load. Please let me know if you see any glaring errors. :)
