His falling roll is fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, completely stopped as the sticky strands hold him fast.

Stuck upside down and flailing pitifully, the wizard seems to be completely immobile. "Ah, a Web spell. After seeing its effectiveness, perhaps I should learn it." He says with all the emotion of someone examining a wheelbarrow.

Craning his head up, Dasur struggles to grab a stick of butter from his spell component pouch and make the series of gestures necessary to open microportals to the elemental plane of lard on Torvi's body.

Standard Action Cast Grease on Torvi to give her a +10 to escape artist checks.

Casting a spell while grappled usually requires a concentration check of 10 + cmb of opponent + spell level. I'll let thhe GM decide if just beating the DC of the Web spell + spell level of Grease is enough for the spell to succeed.

Snorri twists, and the web finds no purchase on the polished mithril armor at first. However, as he slashes at the thick filaments, he finds himself increasingly tangled and enveloped.

Round 2 is a double move for both of them and round three is a double move for Nalnera to squeeze next to Dasur. And move action and delaying my attack for Regnir until he can get a shot at the one with Glenda.

The drow facing Torvi is surprised at how easily she escapes from the webs. He pivots his strategy, stepping back and forming his dark hands into a horizontal fan.

With a grunt, Snorri reaches for the alchemist's fire in his satchel, uncorks it and throws it in front of him. Unluckily, the sticky filaments binding his arm throw his aim off.

The part in red on the map is burning. I and Erebos (if he's still there) take 1 point of fire damage from the alchemist's fire and 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 from the burning web. Swift action to lay on hands on myself for1d6 ⇒ 6.

So, before I try that reflex save, how about a quick AOO. I’m threatening at 5’ with the helmet, and at 10’ with the dorn dergar...

Dasur, still hanging upside down in the web, is resigned to his fate but not exactly content. Being suspended in the air was not comfortable for a dwarf so connected to the earth, and it reminded him far too much of the hot air balloon.

He struggles to free himself so he can continue to give aid, but only succeeds in flipping himself diagonally.

Apparently I missed the last round as I was not seeing that there had been posts in this game. The website conspires against me. Round 3 was Regnir double moving to flank with Torvi.

Continuing to trail behind the temperamental one and moving behind the drow foolish enough to ignore him. Growling as his hands lose their grip on the corporeal world and all color vanishes from his form. Becoming a dark figure that seems to drink in all light.

If the fire spreads, Nalnera and Dasur should now take 2d4 fire damage and be free.

Snorri rushes towards Torvi as soon as the burning webs give way. "Press on! Give them no quarter!"

Is there any way me and Torvi can do a switcheroo, as she has reach and I don't?

I think everyone is caught up for Round 4.

The flames begun by Snorri's alchemist fire lick quickly though the rest of the web, causing a brief flash of light.

The drow who fled Glenda continues to flee, taking a shot at Regnir to aid his companion.

Bow shot: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Bow damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

The drow facing Glenda steps back, casting a familiar spell to cover the cavern floor with a slippery grease.

Glenda Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9I left out stability there, but even that wouldn't be enough.

Glenda's feet slide out from under her and she falls to the floor.

The drow pressed by Torvi lashes out at Regnir with his longsword.

Longsword attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Nothing.


Erebos moves forward and launches a missile at the retreating drow wizard.

Magic Missile damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Torvi yells to Snorri (in Dwarven), ”Switcheroo at your direction,” and she readies herself for the movement.

When Snorri directs, Torvi will 5’ in his direction, while he does a 5’ into her spot, and then she uses her Standard action to start her Raging Song.

Ready Action to 5’ step and start the song.

Raging song: +2 STR/CON, +1 Will Save, -1 AC, Cannot use CHA, DEX, or INT based skills except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride), or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

Dasur, still stuck upside down, can do little but sigh and close his eyes as the flames race over the spider webs.

All the wizard feels is a flash of burning pain and gravity taking over as he is unceremoniously dumped onto the stone floor below.

Groaning and coughing, he picks himself up, then starts to run down the hallway that Glenda just went down, trailing smoke.

Nalnera would notice that Dasur's hair appears to be on fire; the tip of his low-hanging ponytail smolders slightly, flaring a hot yellow-red as he runs. It smells awful.

Double Move: Move 40' down hallway after Glenda.

Glenda also has +2 against spells, bringing the total roll to 15, if it matters.

Snorri steps in Torvi's place, ducking the head to avoid the chain of her dorn-dergar as he cleaves upwards with his axe. The precise movement, however, made his trajectory evident and easy to dodge.

Torn between needing the flames to be free and the natural fear of being burned. Though as with life what she wanted did not matter and the flames licked around her.

A furious growl crawls out of the wraiths throat and he lifts is ichor covered hands to slam them into the drow.


Regnir's fists slam into the drow, who is severely discomfited.

The cornered drow calls out to his companions, "Peel this spirit off of me before these rock heads send me to pharasma's wheel." The wizard takes a defensive stance, back to the wall.

Drow wizard is total defense.

The other two concentrate their attacks on Regnir, attempting to assist their companion.

Bow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Bow damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Bow attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Seeing their attacks have little effect on the spirit, the two drow retreat, sliding down a carefully hidden rope to the level of the stream, leaving their fellow behind. Never trust a drow, I suppose.

In the distance, you hear the beat of a drum, throbbing like the heartbeat of a great beast.

Dasur casually jogs past Reginar and his fellows beating the life out off a nearby drow wizard as he makes his way to the river. The drumbeats reverberating throughout the cavern fill him with a sense of wonder- they echoed so pleasingly along the cavern walls, shaped by the stone and water. A symphony of the elements, he surmised.

Move action x2 Double move towards River, where the Drow slid down on ropes.

Torvi may currently be under direction to not kill a specific drow, but she has no such problem regarding others of the kind. She continues to sing, and flank, and power attack the drow wizard.

Iverna watches the drow descend from their stone shelf above. She reaches out with her gnomish magic and attempt to blind one of them, but the drow's natural resistance to magic is too strong. There is a reason that the drow are one of the most respected races in the Darklands.

Erebos races forward, pursuing his retreating kindred.

"They will be seeking orcish reinforcements. We should not allow them to escape, friend dwarves. Make haste to destroy them."

Glenda and Nalnera still have an action from Round 6, but let's go ahead to round 7. They can catch up when they are available.

Torvi casts expeditious retreat on herself and moves 50’ in the direction of the retreating elves. ”Heal me if you can, or do not, for I may not last long in this fight, but I am taking more elves with me.”

And she keeps singing, because she will want that going when she catches her prey.

Hmm. Dasur has spells that bypass spell resistance, but they're either AoE or crowd controls. Plus the AoE lays down a lot of difficult terrain, so it doesn't seem like the right time.

Round 7

Still trailing acrid smoke from his bruning hair, the elementalist jogs past Erebos to get within range of the two other drow they were chasing. He reaches into one of his many pouches and tosses a handful of multicolor sand into the air in front of him.

With a powerful arcane trigger word and a thrust forward palm, the minds of the drow explode into a dazzling array of color. Dasur does not move from his stance, conentrating on weaving the spell around their foe's innate resistance to magics.

Move action: 10' move down corridor

Snorri sprints as fast as he can go, trusting his darkvision to keep him out of the gaping hole in the cave floor. As he finds himself on a ledge, he jumps down with a grunt, trying to cut the drow's retreat.

Run action, I lose my Dex bonus to AC, bringing it down by 1. I'm not sure how much lower the ground is, I'll take falling damage and Lay on Hands on myself for 1d6 ⇒ 1


Distance is only 20 feet, so Falling damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7

Drow acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

The two drow shrug off Dasur's spell and continue their retreat, jumping lightly across the stream to a small outcropping above the rushing water.

Round 8, Dwarves are up.

Erebos calls out, "Be wary about overpersuing, dwarves, this has all of the marks of a trap. Don't let them string us out." The drow races forward, allowing himself to drift to the floor below.

Torvi continues pursuing. With her 50’ movement, I believe she can get all the way to the drow on the island and be adjacent to both in a single move.

Her 50’ movement makes her jump to the island trivial.

She accepts the rage and attacks the yellow drow with her helmet...

She has her dorn dergar ready at 10’, so she intends to take an AOO if they back off more.

Wow they have more spell resistance than I thought. I guess I should have just dropped rocks on their heads and dealt with the difficult terrain.

In any case, I have a fun surprise for the drow.

As Torvi rushes by, Dasur takes a step forward in an effort to keep the Drow in sight. "Hold a moment, Torvi. Let Earth and Water ensnare our foes." The wizard says as he sees her preparing to jump across the chasm.

Extending a hand, the wizard manipulates the latent arcane energy infusing the nearby caves, calling upon the earth to aid him. With a quick draconic word and a sweep of his open palm, the ground beneath the drow suddenly disappears, replaced by a gaping extradimensional maw.

Water from the stream begins to slowly rush in from the slanted sides on the north and eastern portions of pit, the filling Dasur's trap.

Standard Action: Dasur Casts Create pit. He is considered level 4 for casting earth spells, so it's 10 x 10 feet and 20 feet deep and lasts 5 rounds. He will create it such that even if the Drow make their reflex save, they will have to jump towards the spaces closest to the dwarves and be standing on the edge of the pit. I'll try to put a box where I mean when I get home, phone controls don't work well. DC 17 reflex save to avoid falling in and jump to the nearest available space.

Torvi you can go ahead and jump to the rocky outcrop and deny one of the drow a spot to land, but you'll be on the edge of the pit and have to make a reflex saving thrrow at the end of the round to avoid falling into the pit yourself.

I’ll wait and see how this pit business plays out before I figure out where I ended up. I love the idea of watching those two floundering in the bottom of the pit as water rushes in though!

One of the drow falls immediately into the pit. The other jumps to the edge of the pit, balancing between the stream and the slanted edge of the pit.
