Working on what I got, but given what was said about sonic, I'm probably gonna load up my 2nd-level slots with sound burst.

Garnet "Garn" Ironshanks |

Is the creature forming low enough for Garnet to reach with her Dwarven Longhammer?

Dasur Deepborn |

Ancestral home RECLAIMED.
It took 4 years 11 months, and 12 days; 4,312 posts, 9 players, 2 GMs, but we did it. Congratualtions everyone, it was an excellent journey.
Thank you, GM SuperTumbler. You rescued this game and made a memorable adventure out of the bare bones adventure path you were given. I salute you for your dedication to the craft and hope all your players know they are blessed with such a wonderful storyteller and individual.
The questions is: What now? Do we have a victory lap, where Dasur learns teleportation on the next level up and we return to Highhelm as the Heroes of the Dwarfkind? Do we stay quiet, continuing the game as is and shore up Dammerhall before announcing its return? Or do we close the book, marking our triumph over the Black Flame as the final chapter in the story?
Thoughts and comments, especially from the GM whose say is most important, are appreciated.

No need to apologize. I should have done a better job setting this last encounter up in people's heads. I didn't make enough of the environment clear, making one of the possible solutions impossible for you to come up with.
After thinking about it for the weekend, I think it is time for me to wrap this campaign. I can imagine some more stories here, but they are large and complex and probably not great for PbP.
I'm glad that I took this on. It was my longest running PbP campaign so far. Great players, interesting characters. I got to run some fun set pieces and play some unique NPCs.
Let's take some time to write some epilogues for these characters. It will not be easy to restore Dammerhall to its former glory, but over time dwarves will return, and Snorri's kingdom will solidify alliances and push back enemies. Certainly the heroes of Dammerhall will find places of prestige in the new kingdom.

Javell DeLeon |

Epilogues huh? That sounds pretty fun. Will work on that over the next few days. This has been a fun game with great folks all around. Well done, all. It's been fun.
I will say it appears we may have lost Glenda and Gunnar. Haven't heard from either of them in a while.

GM SuperTumbler |

Epilogues can be as simple or complicated as you want. It feels to me like these characters deserve some closure and some "future history" if that makes sense.
For the two major NPCs I'm torn. What the story needs is for Iverna to become a sort of ambassador to the svirfneblin and bring them into the sphere of influence of Dammerhall. But over time she has become more of a Daryl Dixon. I wonder if she would be better off being giving some dwarven treasure as a reward and heading off into the wilderness.
Erebos is similarly dualistic. On the one hand, his dreams were to conquer his homeland with a dwarven army, but I can also see him tiring of all the scheming and becoming something simple like a librarian. He aspired to martial greatness, but surely his experience fighting alongside such martial beasts as you guys are would convince him that was not his destiny.

Javell DeLeon |

I think both of those are quite fitting for the NPC's. I can totally see the dwarves rewarding her and she going off to live the only way she knows how to live. Hard for me to see her being some type of ambassador. Especially the way she practically lives invisible and really doesn't talk much.
And I could see Erebos doing exactly what you just said.
I liked them both. They were both cool characters.
Anyway, I think they're great ideas! But that's just my two cents. Keep the change, I'd just lose it in the couch. :P

Now THIS is well said. Totally agree. Solid as they come, Tumbler. *thumbs up*

I will humbly accept that. But it also can't be ignored that Javell stepped in to take over the roll of Snorri. The role of Prince was critical to the campaign, and you carried it well.
I'll be starting at least one new campaign in December/January. So if you like my style be on the look out for that/those.

Dasur Deepborn |

After some thought I also agree we should also put your game top rest.
An epilogue would indeed be fitting, I'll get something up in a while. Considering Dasur's entire motivation was "I told you so", I'm pretty sure I know what he's going to do.

Torvi Stonesinger |

It's entirely possible that Erebos would wake up one morning dead, with an anonymous dorn-dergar lodged in his windpipe!
As for Torvi, I believe her future would cause her to become the Grand Architect of Dammerhall. She would turn her skills to rebuilding Dammerhall into the grandiose place it deserves. With artistic uses of the stone craft skills she had time to explore at times in this adventure, she would create something worthy of Snorri. She would need some of Dasur and Glenda's magical aid, to create strong defenses and such as well.

Garnet "Garn" Ironshanks |

Garnet would be most interested in ensuring military readiness, both supplies (arms and armor) as well as heading up the homeland defense. With her metalcrafting skills, she could lead both the craftsmen and the warriors.
She could become a prime example of a female accepted and excelling in traditional male Dwarven roles…

I should point out that, at this point, half of the "Sons of Dammerhall" are female.

Well, “Daughters of Dammerhall” has much better alliteration, but perhaps a more egalitarian “Scions of Dammerhall” or some such would be apropos…..

Nooooooooooo, that will not be happening. Erebos is part of the team and we DO NOT kill a team member. Those are the rules, Torvi. You're just gonna have to live with them. YES YOU ARE! Don't talk back to your fearless leader. What? What was that? Was that some kind of cracky comment? I KNOW you just did not mutter under your breath, Torvi! Torvi! Where are you going?! I'm NOT done talking to you! Torvi! TOR-VI! Blasted skald. You know, I'm seriously thinking about replacing her. Maybe with someone... oh I don't know... nice? :)

Torvi Stonesinger |

There will not be an elf, especially a dark one, written about in the annals of our people with respect to reclaiming Dammerhall. No one else knows how dark Erebos' heart is, but Torvi does, she has SEEN it.

Glenda Dalduraz |

I'm still here, it's just been a difficult time keeping up with things due to *gestures vaguely around at the world* all of this.

Man I appreciate it. Thanks. I know he wasn't close to what Sapiens brought but I worked to at least keep him as close to that as I could. :)

Will definitely keep an eye out.

Dasur Deepborn |

That was fun to write. Sorry about the kid, Snorri and Garnet! I"m sure it'll be fine. Dasur just had to follow in the footsteps of his father and infuse some babies with magic.
May the Stone shelter the Children of Dammerhall forever.

Javell DeLeon |

Lol! Good one, Dasur. Pretty cool write up, bud. Quite fascinating. I'd love to read the book that continues the story of 'What happened to Dasur?' and 'What becomes of the King and Queen's child?'
Man there's an awesome story to be told in there somewhere. Maybe 3 novels worth. Fun! :)
Enjoyed it, all! We'll keep an eye on the recruit thread for sure. Outside of that, it's been fun and y'all be good!
