I'm largely happy with that. Thinking of going with a Stalker Vigilante by the name of Eudoxia (Xia to her close friends).
I was thinking of playing a member of the Sarini Family, as I think it would be interesting to play with my social identity being linked to a family supporting Thrune, while opposing them in vigilante mode. Something I'm hoping to experience in this game is to really be able to play up the dual identity nature of the vigilante, and the need to conceal my activities from my family. The main question on this point was the Hell's Rebels Player Guide states that to play a member of one of the major noble houses you should pick the Noble Scion Feat, and the Child of Kintargo trait to play a member of a minor noble house. Would it be possible to play as a Sarini without selecting the Noble Scion Feat?
The second question is asking quite a bit more. As said at the top I'm thinking of going Stalker but would really like a way to be able to cast some utility spells. I don't really want to cast spells in combat but would like the ability out of combat. Would there be anyway to make that work, such as by combining stalker and warlock in some way or even allowing the ability to use scrolls with a spellcraft or UMD check? An increase in casting time and/or a slower spell progression might help balance things out a bit if you go with the combining archetypes solution. If not, don't worry, I'm happy to either multi-class at some point or just go without any casting but I thought it was worth asking.
Finally, I'm thinking of taking the Twisted Love story feat and wanted to run my ideas regarding the background of that with you. I was thinking of having the object of this feat be a high ranking subordinate to Barzillai Thrune, sort of the Guy of Gisborne to his Sheriff of Nottingham, who has fallen in love with Eudoxia. The family, of course, approve heavily of this match, but Eudoxia does not share their enthusiasm. I'd also like for this guy to have a number of run ins with my vigilante identity, so you get a situation where he hates the vigilante but loves Eudoxia Sarini which I think could be interesting to play with. Is there someone who could fill this role, or would it be fairly easy to add such a person in?
A final, final note at this stage, I'm thinking of starting without having established my vigilante identity yet. I'll write up details on the costume etc. with the rest of the background but I'd like Eudoxia to adopt the cowl as a result of Barzillai Thrune's actions and not already be acting as a vigilante.

Playing in the Sarini is fine - take the Child of Kintargo trait but replace its bonuses with those from the Noble Scion feat. (So +2 knw nob and +1 knw planes, but no 200gp item.)
Twisted Love - that's fine, I can make it work easily (what's your opinion on same sex relationships? Theres an NPC this would work really well with but as written she's female. Is that ok with you? I can just gender switch if its not.)
As to the casting that depends what spells you want - items like Apprentices Cheating Gloves can cover a good amount of utility stuff. Otherwise I think I'll write up a specialised talent to give you access to scrolls etc from UMD - simpler than trying to hybridise archetypes. Alternatively you can have a free VMC if you want (so VMC benefits at no feat cost.)
I'm fine with a same sex relationship. Glad to hear that there is an NPC this idea works with. I look forwards to seeing more.
Hmm, regarding spell use, having a talent to use scrolls from UMD and using items seems like it would cover what I want and fit in with the flavour quite well. I'm also now looking at the Teisatsu archetype which combines with Stalker but gives access to a Qi pool and the ability to pick up Ninja tricks or Monk Qi Powers in the place of Talents. That should also help add some of the versatility I wanted.

Thinking of going Tiefling (with the pass for human alternate trait) as the Sarini family have a long history of diabolism and the need to keep her heritage a secret to avoid damage to the family reputation would play in nicely with the rest of her planned backstory and personality, eg sympathy for outsiders and underdogs.
With racial modifiers then that would give me the following scores:
Strength: 14
Dexterity: 18 (16 + 2 racial)
Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 16 (14 + 2 racial)
Charisma: 15 (17 - 2 racial)
Wisdom: 14
I've created the alias and made a start on building the character. I also double checked the rules on casting from scrolls and it appears that you can use UMD to use a scroll as if you had that spell on your class spell list if you hit a DC of 20 + the caster level of the scroll. It's not clear if this purely allows a wizard to cast a cleric spell or if it allows a non-caster with a high enough UMD to also cast from scrolls like I hoped to do.
Also another quick question - how much starting wealth?
Starting wealth by the book, so 1000.

Ill-gotten Knowledge (Social Trait)
Your family has concluded many dark pacts with devils to gain greater knowledge and power, and you have inherited some of this diabolic skill in emulating magic.
When using Use Magic Device to activate a scroll or wand you always count as having the spell required on your class spell list (even if you do not normally cast spells). You gain a +5 competence bonus to your skill check when trying to activate items blindly. In addition you may take 10 on UMD checks to cast from scrolls or wands, provided that you are not in a stressful situation (as defined by the GM - but basically normal take 10 rules).
We'll also use the feat tax rules found here. Feel free to change feats etc :)

I generally assume that anything <1gp isn't worth accounting for. :) That rise to 10gp once you hit a certain wealth level.

Ooh, Yes. 'Staying up on current events'. Eudoxia had an argument with her aunt ( Countess Urora Sarini) the night before and is feeling rebellious and wants to do something useful with the energy by picking up on the public mood. She's also hoping to maybe hear something about the Victocora fire and whether anyone she knew survived.
(I flicked through this AP when I first got it and am aware of Rexus' role. It would make sense if Rexus and Eudoxia knew each other, being noble children of a similar age, and would also help provide further motive to get involved with the rebellion as well as why Rexus trusts her)
Should have my background and other flavour information up by the end of the evening as well.

If it won't attract undue attention Eudoxia will wear a cloak with its hood up to the protest (or at least a large hat). She doesn't want to advertise her identity and is looking for a fairly simple way to hide it from casual onlookers.
She'll be wearing a riding dress, something that marks her out as respectable while retaining freedom of movement, rather than armour and will only be carrying her knives rather than any larger weapons.

I've updated my stat line to reflect the extra AC from wearing leather armour now instead of just a dress. Ready to move to the next scene when you are.
