FWIW, both those spells are on Arcos' and Lubella's spell lists.
Sidius Consano
A pair of scrolls would allow for a great deal of flexibility in handling the situation - or getting away from it.
In the meantime, I'll be bringing crowd/area control spells - webs and obscuring mists, mostly.
Lubella Heathertoes
We could even have someone playing the part of an announcer, introducing each Silver Raven in turn, like at a sporting match. Just an idea.
Aldren Halfblood
Sorry for ghosting all. Life has been very busy lately with work and family and just not leaving me a lot of free time or mental energy. (On the positive side, the parents are all improving.)
We are going to be on vacation next week with what I expect is limited internet access (I know, ideally we shouldn't be doing anything, but its basically a deserted beach, so...) I'll try to check in and post quick updates but wanted to apologize for being such a flake.
GM Aarvid
No worries Aldren. I had been out some too with my mom's stroke last week. RL and family always take priority. Hope all is going better this weekend and coming week!
Lubella Heathertoes
Apologies about the illusion spell thing - I forgot how... empty.. the witch list is in that regard. I was originally thinking a minor or major image, but I can't cast 'em.
Would it make sense for the party to buy a scroll of minor image, for Arcos to write into his spell book?
Sidius Consano
I think so. It's flexible and useful
GM Aarvid
This is the first time I have had the experience of an un-tiered encounter since back in my Living Greyhawk days.
Since I was not the GM for the original protest, this scene is supposed to evoke the same vibe and memory of that first meeting. I may not be capturing it exactly the same.
Lubella Heathertoes
Lubella had no expectation of any of the other PCs revealing themselves. Barzillai Thrune is obviously trying to learn as much about out identities as he can. She had wisdom 8, so it's in-character for her to stick her neck out occasionally!
I don't know that the equipment on display is necessarily directly harmful. However I would expect that the position of the items could be found later by Locate Object. After all, that's the same method we've been using to try to find Rexus.
Lubella does have escape options if the current situation turns ugly (if nothing else, cast Expeditious Retreat and run like hell!).
Sidius Consano
Sidius' reaction was going to depend on what was cast -- but now that he's warned everyone, as I said before, he's fine with being outed (in fact, the embarrassment and pain to his aunt would be a plus, in his books...) - but he also doesn't have the same expectation of those with actual families.
GM Aarvid
The inclusion of the halfling troupe was my own twist- they are described as self-identified vigilantes. When their name came up as being in the crowd, I figured to add a 3rd or 4th party into the mix for some entertainment.:)
Lubella Heathertoes
I just wish that I'd remembered to use out disguise kit when I posted. It still has some uses left, and would have given a +2 bonus. Still, there's a difference between people knowing that you're in disguise, and having them see you without one.
Lubella Heathertoes
You probably want to change to the Blue Warlock (if you haven't already) when you're out of direct line-of-sight. True Seeing allows the caster to see invisible, but not through objects.
Lubella Heathertoes
I'm guessing that this encounter is about choosing the least bad option. But I'm not entirely sure what that is.
GM Aarvid
Will assume we are at the start of week 9 for the rebellion activities.

Note: Lubella has taken over the position of Demagogue from Fhingle, so our Loyalty bonus drops to 9.
Rebellion Actions: 2 + 1 (Strategist) = 3
Action 1: Recruit Supporters (+2 bonus from Strategist) DC 16 to recruit 2d6+12 (Aldren and Sidius) supporters. d20 +9 (loyalty) +2 (strategist)
Action 2: Earn Money (Merchants) (d20+2 (security) +4 (manager))x2 gp
Action 3: Spread Disinformation (Vendalfek)
What sort of action is it to give Vendalfek a manager (I'm presuming he counts as a team)? We haven't given him one yet.
DC 20, d20 + 6 (secrecy) + 4 (Vendafek) + manager.
Expenses: 60 gp (10gp x rank)
Sidius Consano
Is this the same day as the festival? Just wondering about my spell load-out. (If we're exploring, I might lose some battlefield control in favour of other choices...)
Would it help to move Sidius to another position based on that, Lubella? Obviously, he's best in something int-driven. :)
Lubella Heathertoes
The Int-driven position is the Spymaster:
Spymaster: The officer adds his or her Dexterity or
Intelligence modifier to the rebellion’s Secrecy check.
Currently Talvek is assigned to that role. Swapping Sidius into that role (from Recruiter) would require two rebellion actions.
It's certainly something to consider.| GM Aarvid |
Going to be spending time with family this Easter weekend - may post infrequently. Wishing you all a great weekend wherever you are. :)
GM Aarvid
Ok should I be concerned that this pathfinder game has started appearing in my Scrabble Go game I play online with my sister?
See my letter board on the last map slide if you want a chuckle
Lubella Heathertoes
Did Lubella learn anything about the strange, grime-encrusted shiny black cloak?

Would Talvek be willing to swap Officer roles with Sidius (Spymaster for Recruiter)?
GM Aarvid
We can split the difference and cost one action since we had people depart the group unexpectedly.
Talvek Drassed
We already have Aldren as Recruiter, would it make sense for Talvek to take Sentinel instead?
Lubella Heathertoes
@GM Aarvid: In the Allies section on the Rebellion Sheet it says "Laria Longroad +2 Loyalty Recruiting (one event check +2 Loyalty, +2 Security, +2 Secrecy)". Is that current, or was that when she was the Sentinel (or is she still the Sentinel)?
Lubella Heathertoes
Who wants the Cloak of the Manta Ray? I think we should expect that we're going to have to do some swimming fairly soon. Lubella is OK with her Ring of Swimming and +1 Cloak of Resistance.
Note that piecing weapons are most effective underwater. It's a good idea to make sure you have at least a dagger or a spear (simple weapons). Reference: Underwater Combat Rules.
Sidius Consano
If it's short spurts, alter self can make a person amphibious.
Lubella Heathertoes
Talvek could learn Touch of the Sea to help with short swims. How about Arcos and Aldren?
Talvek Drassed
The manta ray cloak only works in salt water. Is the water in the pit salty or unsalty? Talvek can also prepare an extract of Monkey Fish, which gives a swim speed of 10 ft.
Lubella Heathertoes
I'm hoping that Aldren can try dispelling the lock on the sealed doors. He could memorize one Dispel Magic and leave his other lvl 3 slots open, in case it requires several tries.
GM Aarvid
Oh - so anyway the water in this pit is not described as salt or not. So assume pit water is fresh. Most water in city river will be fresh but in bay or shoreline is salt.
Lubella Heathertoes
I'm waiting to see who can try to get through the sealed door. We may need to use the services of the caster mentioned by Octavio if no-one else can do it.
Sidius Consano
Sorry, was waiting -- I'll give it a whirl.
Lubella Heathertoes
By my reckoning, we can actually open a DC 50 lock, given enough time (Talvek would need to roll 25 on 1d20 + 1d6). Lubella has 17 rounds of bardic performance available per day for Inspire Competence.
Talvek Drassed
Ceaseless Observation (Empiricist feature) means that Talvek uses Int rather than Dex for Disable Device, so the mutagen and Cat's Grace don't help for that. Talvek does have Fox's Cunning extract prepared, however, so that will help.

This might be enough. Although I need to check one thing...
As a free action, he can expend one use of inspiration from his pool to add 1d6 to the result of that check, including any on which he takes 10 or 20. This choice is made after the check is rolled and before the results are revealed. An investigator can only use inspiration once per check or roll.
So I think you only get 1d6 on the first try and only 6 per day, max? Or am I reading this incorrectly?
Talvek Drassed
The Underworld Inspiration investigator talent allows Talvek to use inspiration on Bluff, Disable Device, Disguise, Intimidate and Sleight of Hand without expending daily uses of inspiration, provided those skills are trained.
"Can only use inspiration once per check or roll"- I'm reading this as being able to use inspiration for every attempt to unlock the door.
