Several of my co-workers in Seattle were without power. I did not realize it would take out servers in a data center...I would have hoped they were better protected (generators etc).
I was able to wipe Paizo-only on firefox (cached data and cookies), and it worked -- though not the day of the issue, the next morning.
My phone, sadly, didn't allow that kind of precision, so I ended up more or less wiping all the cached data for chrome.
As for the protection of servers, I've seen more than one person learn that their UPS battery wasn't up to snuff the hard way. (Back when I had to run such things, we'd force a graceful shutdown once the UPS/generators were at a critical level -- to avoid corruption of data and accounts... Wow, I do not miss those days, or the pager.)
Also heard about the windstorm around Seattle. You always hope Paizo has good web design but they never really do.

Hey guys, I haven't ghosted. Our internet has been shit the last two days along with a lot of my clients (apparently something happened in the northeast or east coast) and I spent most of today just digging out from the work that was piling up. I'll try to catch up tonight or tomorrow morning.
No worries. I haven’t been exactly keeping up as GM. Been working long hours at work to cover for 3-4 less people in our team since the first of the year.
So I apologize I am only posting about half as often as I’d like.
For what it's worth, Talvek does have a chance to climb the wall at an interior corner: +3 climb skill +5 for the corner +2 heroism = +10, and he can add both 1d6 inspiration and 1d6 panache. So he would need to roll 15 on 1d20+2d6.
Of course he would be one complete turn behind the Slasher.
Talvek would be at 1/4th speed, and Slasher has full speed when climbing if I'm not mistaken. So I think it's more prudent to follow on foot and try to corner him somehow.

I'm wondering if the resumption of killings in the style of Professor Mangvhune might be caused by the red blade itself? What if Varl Wex discovered the blade somehow, and it influenced him to resume the killing spree? That thought is why Lubella is being cautious about touching the blade.

Re: crafting, I feel like we're moving from one time-sensitive mission to the next, but it's good to know that we can coordinate some downtime for that.
If we have the time, Sirius can make potions as he got the cauldron hex from his archetype (one of them). The downside is that other than healing, he doesn't know too many useful potion-spells.
The blade corrupting him seems like a pretty solid theory.
Just to share the mod normally expects more down time between missions. I expose clues or threads as you find them. You can chose to act on them or leave them wait a day or week in many cases. The few exceptions were like the twins. The most like clearing Luvky Bones or finding Rexus are on the back burner until you are ready.
The Slasher definitely felt like it had some time presure attached to it - the longer we leave it the more people he would kill, but it's good to know that we don't have pressing matters right now!
Speaking of crafting, are we using the variant crafting rules?
Lubella is going to visit Captain Sargaeta and put in a request for gold for supplies. She's hoping to speak to Marquel as well, and feed him some information about our success against the Slasher (as part of her role as the Demagogue).
Someone should probably inform Hetamon about how things went as well.
Yup, Talvek will visit Hetamon and give him an update while picking up some more disguise supplies.
As I mentioned in the Gameplay post, I'm hoping that Aldren can memorize a Detect Evil on the blade in the morning. I'm not sure exactly what to do if it does radiate evil. I'm worried about the blade controlling someone if they handle it sufficiently to make a Spellcraft check.

I'm very sorry but now in addition to my in-laws having health problems (FIL had a stroke and MIL's best and last close friend just died), my mother is as well: shingles in (or behind?) the eye which is proving very debilitating. It's eating up a ton of emotional energy and time.
I'm sorry for the slow updates recently and aim to be back and giving proper focus and attention on March 1. In the meantime, I'll try to keep up but my posts are going to continue to be relatively brief.

Similarly, I attended a funeral today for a close sister-in-law who died this past week due to covid. She leaves behind three kids. I had to setup the computer so my FIL and MIL could watch the funeral online.
Not a good time for those in high risk groups. :(

Sorry - had an urgent flight to Florida as my mom had a bad fall and is in ICU with bleeding in her brain . She is stable but still needs monitoring 72hrs.

My late father suffered a similar injury a few years ago, the result of an ill-advised decision to change a light bulb (and this was as I was on my way over for dinner). He suffered a fractured hip at the same time, but did recover.

She was doing better today. I was finally able to reach hospital and her MRI and CT scans(x7) showed bleed stopped and she was in good spirits. Just hangry due to not being allowed to eat in the event of emergency surgery. We are hopeful she has a good night and better prognosis tomorrow.

Thanks all. My mom had a mini stroke, which caused her to fall and bump her head. She also has a small clot and some other issues from before. They are doing more diagnostic procedures tomorrow, but she has improved a fair amount already the past 2 days. Sorry for the erratic posting. I appreciate the extra thoughts, vibes and prayers. Same to you and your parents. :)
