On a serious note, we saw a surge in new covid cases in my area about two weeks later, so please be careful.
...and the data suggests that more Amercians (as a percentage) traveled this week for the holidays than happened up here, so... yes, be very careful.
GM Aarvid
We stayed home to avoid any extra exposure. Missed seeing all our extended family but a quiet evening is good.
Lubella Heathertoes
A wise choice IMHO. I'm anticipating a quiet Christmas this year.
Aldren Halfblood
We just canceled our Christmas plans to fly out to see my in-laws. They're in the Midwest and there are no ICU beds left in the entire state.
Sidius Consano
I'm thinking it'll be a lot of videocalls to let grandparents watch the opening of gifts.
That's our plan at least. (Though I know my daughter isn't going to love not seeing her cousins)
GM Aarvid
Same here. We look forward to seeing my siblings in Florida and my kids seeing their cousins. Not this year though. :(
Lubella Heathertoes
Speak with Dead can be cast on a given corpse once per week, so we effectively only get one shot at it. Unless we want to wait, we can ask two questions (presumably Hetamon is 5th lvl). I would assume she's most likely to be cooperative if it's Hetamon asking the questions.
Presumably we want to ask Myrletta for a physical description of her assailant (hopefully she saw the killer). Mostly I want to know if it was a humanoid, or something else.
What would our second question be? Time of the attack?
Aldren Halfblood
Brainstorming on questions:
* Weapon (if unique, could be a good clue)
* What did the murderer look like (might not work as answers are brief, cryptic or repetitive)
* did you know the murderer
* other than the murderer, were you alone when you were killed?
* who knows who the murderer is?
Talvek Drassed
I think with magical or mundane disguises, the appearance of the murdered may not be that important. I really like the last question though - who knows who the murderer is?
Lubella Heathertoes
Just my opinion, but my guess is it's unlikely that she will have recognized the killer.
Aldren Halfblood
I also agree it's unlikely. (Very.) Just brainstorming. But sometimes long odds payoff.
Lubella Heathertoes
My suggestion for the wording of the first question is, "Can you describe your attacker?"
I'm hoping that will give the best chance of eliciting useful information.
I don't have a strong feeling for the second question.
Lubella Heathertoes
So far, the weapon and who knows who the murder is have been mentioned twice. Should we go with one of those? Anyone want to break the tie?
Aldren Halfblood
FYI, my father-in-law had a stroke yesterday. Sounds like it was relatively mild but my husband is flying out tomorrow to get a better sense of what’s going on and help his mother. In the meantime, I’m going to be solo-parenting and trying to work, so my schedule may be off this week. Sorry in advance.
GM Aarvid
Oh no. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
A good friend of ours had a stroke yesterday and my wife was taking care of her tonight. Stay safe and take care of family first. We will be here for when you can post. :)
Talvek Drassed
Best wishes to your family and yourself, Aldren. Take your time, and take care!
Sidius Consano
Wishing the best of possible outcomes, Aldren. (And Aarvid too, reading down-thread)
Lubella Heathertoes
I'm presuming that Lubella is replacing Fhingle as Demagogue.
FYI Lubella will be taking the Leadership feat at lvl 7:
Benefits of Leadership
If you select the Leadership feat, your cohort can serve as a Recruiter. Rather than gain a set number of followers when you achieve a Leadership score of 10, your rebellion instead gains a Tier 1 bonus team. Each time you would normally gain a higher-level follower, you instead grant the Silver Ravens an additional Tier 1 bonus team, to a maximum of six bonus teams once you achieve a Leadership score of 21.In addition, if you have the Leadership feat and manage a team, you grant +2 bonus to all Organization checks attempted by that team during an Activity phase.
The Natural Born Leader trait gives a +1 to her Leadership score. She'll one free bonus team right away, and more as she levels up (I don't think she'll get to a Leadership score of 21 for the 6th team).
Proposed Rebellion Actions:
1. Recruit Supporters (with extra +2 from Strategist).
2. Earn Gold (merchants - upgraded from peddlers last week). Gold earned: (d20 + 10 + 4 ) x 2 (team tier).
3. Spread Disinformation (Vendalfek) I'm presuming that Vendalfek acts as his own team? Can he get a manager bonus? As it stands, without a manger bonus, he needs to roll a 10 to succeed (55% chance) and fails on a 5 or less (25% chance). So the odds seem worth it.
Spread Disinformation (Agitators, Cognoscenti, or Rumormongers): The team spreads false information about the rebellion throughout Kintargo. With a successful DC 20 Secrecy check, reduce your current Notoriety score by 1d6. For every 10 points by which you exceed this DC, reduce your Notoriety score by an additional 1d6. If you fail the check by 5 or more, your Notoriety score is instead increased by 1d6.
Talvek Drassed
That looks like a solid plan. Could Talvek assist with Spread Disinformation?
GM Aarvid
Level 7 is where you end with the end of this book. Then the next book is 7-9th level
I am just following standard AP experience guide for advancement rather than calculations for Xp which is overly complex and yields about the same result.
Lubella Heathertoes
Yes, I presumed that is what you're doing. I was just providing some context for why I wasn't suggesting to recruit another team right now.
Lubella Heathertoes
Could Talvek assist with Spread Disinformation?
He effectively is helping — his Spymaster bonus gives a +4 towards the DC 20 Secrecy check. Vendalfek gets another +4.
EDIT: If you wanted, you could roleplay Talvek giving Vendalfek some instructions/suggestions about what rumors to spread.

Well possibly good or bad news. My younger son was tested positive for Covid today. So we are quarantined for 14 days. Probably 99% will not impact anything here, but depending on how it affects the family, we could be busy taking care of kids or them taking care of us.
Lubella Heathertoes
Yikes! Please be extra careful, and take care that no-one else becomes infected. Wishing you all the best.
Sidius Consano
Wow, wishing you the best, Aarvid.
Aldren Halfblood

I was going to post I'm back, then read this. Hope all goes smoothly for your family. Our son brought it into the house and we all caught it, though we were fortunate in that our symptoms were very mild. I hope your family's are, too.
Also, I'm back. I'll try to get caught up on my games today and have a post up in the next 12 hours.
Lubella Heathertoes
Seems like we don't have much to go on so far.
-We think the killer may work at Vespam Artisans.
-There's a possible weak connection to the Iudeimus Tenement (we remember some of the workers passing by us when we where there).
-The murders have all taken place in southern Old Kintargo.
-An unknown shadowy figure was watching Vespam Artisans (or watching us?)
Can anyone think of anything else?
We could:
1. Continue to watch Vespam Artisans.
2. Stake out the area around the Iudeimus Tenement.
3. ???

I'll be off for the holidays, everyone - not back 'til Monday (sorry, meant to send a pre-warning, I usually do).
..and by back, I mean back online. It's not travel, it's toddler. ;)
Also: Happy Holidays, everybody.
Aldren Halfblood
I feel like I'm saying this a lot lately but sorry for my absence. My mother came here for Christmas and daycare was closed, so I wound doing a lot of entertaining. Things are getting back to normal now and I am aiming to get back to daily updates on weekdays.
Hope everyone has been having happy holidays.
GM Aarvid
No worries. Been busy here too (even though I am supposed to have been off work for this week, I am ending up working pretty much every day...at least it is from home and not a full day).
Talvek Drassed
I would love if we could recruit the Jolly Time Girls as rebellion agents!
Also, happy meow year!
GM Aarvid
Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a better 2021! Stay safe. :)
Suspecting holiday activities I will not post anything significant today. Rest and spend time with families. :)
Aldren Halfblood
No worries from me. I've been having problems with the website the last 48 hours so probably couldn't have done anything even if you'd updated. And, to confirm, since Aldren can't sneak, he's letting the others go ahead so no updates from me.
Lubella Heathertoes
I had to delete my paizo cookies, and request a new password at the sign-in page. Only then was I able to sign-in properly.
Sidius Consano
Was spared the new password, but deleted cookies and cached data.
Aldren Halfblood
"Clear your cache" is a mantra in my industry.
GM Aarvid
1/14 - I was still having no luck from 4 devices and 7 browsers. Something off on Paizo side. I will have to call them I suppose. Password reset is not working either (on any device).
WOW - Finally after the 31st try, their password change function 'stuck' and kept the new password. Hopefully it does not lose it again. Same happened to my son's account. I don't think his is resolved yet.
Lubella Heathertoes
I think some of the old cookies might interfere with the site keeping track that you're signed in. I used the function to request a temporary password, but I wasn't prompted to reset my password until I deleted all Paizo cookies. You can delete cookies from just a single site in Chrome, rather than deleting them all.
GM Aarvid
There was a major issue apparently. I did the clear all cookies and then still had to reset the password.
Lubella Heathertoes
There were high winds in the Vancouver area two nights ago — probably part of the same storm that hit Paizo in Seattle (I'm about 120 miles north of Paizo).
