"I was thinking more of an 'I told you so' in the middle of the night when they come out running, but 'Big Darn Heroes' sounds good too."

![]() |

"Are your companions going to stay alone out there? In the fog, with an invisible enemy?" turning to Melaphi as a follow-up, he waited a moment, holding back a snide comment about the druid.
But he thought better of it. They were here because they had asked... well, Victor had, but it was a good plan to raise their numbers.

Melaphi Dasan |

Just a reminder I do have a light spell active on my shield, if that allows seeing any more than is currently listed as visible.
With a look of irritation Melaphi grumbles, "One moment." then proceeds, with difficulty, to climb back up the rope.
Take 10 to climb for a 5, this assumes the rope is either knotted (assuming its not) or there is a nearby wall to brace against. Otherwise I'm going to be making several rolls, failing a few times, then finally make it up I presume.

![]() |

Giving Melaphi room to move up the rope, Marcello points toward the end with the door.
"That seems to be the way to go... We will..." stopping shortly as he knew that not one of the others would like to be spoken on behalf. Continuing with a slight change, he added "I will stay here for 5 minutes, then I will move about again."

Just a reminder, I also have a fire ink tattoo that I use for light
Oh, a door. Let's go that way.
Sarcon heads to the grand framework looking around as he approches.
looking around: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
if I don't see anything and nothing jumps out at me I open the door

Victor Ravenport |

Cold, minute fingers tap against the cold stone of the corridor, quieted only slightly by a thick layer of specially fitted gloves. Victor can already see the first, pre-mature pearls of water clinging to his robe. The murky and damp room would have strangulated his weak lungs in his earlier state of existence, but proved to be nothing more than a nuisance to him now.
Victor would hunch slightly, folding his hands behind his back, giving his already unsettling veneer another layer of the grotesque. He shambles over to Marcello and points towards the door.
"Dearest companions, I think you will agree that Sarcon's absense can only be an issue to us. Especially as I am quite sure that he slipped in there.
He raises a lazy finger towards the open door, tilting his covered head towards it as well to underline his point.

Fethryth Teldanona |

Fethryth 's corpse looks back up the rope, over to Victor and back up again. She hugs her arms around herself. "Well...I...I suppose it's not good to let him go off alone. Does anyone have a light? I can't really see where he went.." She strains to see anything in the darkness.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
You guys took all the light with you :p

![]() |

Looking after Sarcon that had moved away, Marcello stays. Sarcon was big enough to know, or not know, when to move and when to fight... in his own way.
"It does seem like that." the hollow tone of voice shows that he simply doesn't care right then and there.
Looking at Feth, Marcello makes moves to point towards the light, but realize that Feth will be unable to see anyway, so he decides to stay silent.
At Melaphis arrival back down the hole, Marcello straighten up and look up the rope for the others.
"Well, I suppose no such luck as your friends have chosen to fight invisibility with invisibility?"
Nodding at his own words he stops counting in his head and start moving, "Let us go then, Sarcon moved ahead."

Garroth Seren |

The rope begins shaking again and soon Melaphi drops back into the hole.
...Quickly followed by Garroth. He looked around. "Wheres Friendship Jerky gotten off to?"

Patricie |

As she prepares for a bit of rest, Patricie lays down in the dirtiest patch she can find and rolls a bit to get comfy, resting her head on her pack. "Trilby, Guard," she commands the bear. He sits facing the tower, with occasional glances toward the entrance to the courtyard.
Turning to Payet, she says, "Trilby will keep first watch. What do you think, 2 hours each?"

DM-Kal |

If the man notices you, he shows no sign of it. As you reach the middle of the room, you notice off to one side a familiar face. Would you like to continue closer to him, off to one side, announce yourself, roll stealth...?[/oo]
[ooc]Oh, and minor detail here, but I'm going to need a Will save. :)

Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
oh i have a chance! if nothing happens just watch over his sholder. I'll ask what he's working on after it becomes clear i cant figure it out.

Patricie |

Realizing that Payet may not be as comfortable in the mud as Trilby and she are--cave dwellers and all that--she peeks in the other entrances around the courtyard to see if there's a foyer or something large enough for them all to sleep in while still having a good enough handle on what's going on in the courtyard to be of help if anyone comes up screaming.

Victoria Fate |

Fate nods at Melaphi as he activates the Life Link. She gives no thank you, remaining inscrutable as though she made no second thought of it, expecting such considerations.

Victor Ravenport |

Victor stands staring into the room behind the doors, as he is suddenly overcome by a murky feeling of dread. He clutches at his robe for a moment, nearly clawing at his rib-cage until he realizes the feeling is being emitted from Melaphi. It wasn't painful, but rather.... otherworldly to his undead body to be linked with life once more.
His teeth grinds together for a moment before he returns his attention towards the doors and the content beyond them.
Does life link actually heal you with positive energy? I just checked the life oracle, but the healing is untyped, just like infernal healing.

Melaphi Dasan |

"We should get moving, before Sarcon gets himself into trouble."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 Not presuming that tells me anything about Victors state - and may or may not allow Melaphi to realize it is related to him life linking Victor.
Seeing Victor stop, and sensing something is troubling the wizard Melaphi asks, "Something wrong Victor?"

Victor Ravenport |

That is quite a roll you got there, Melaphi. It would be a shame if I were to out-bluff it.
Fooling Melaphi: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
F#~*!
It seems rather evident to Melaphi that Victor was visibly unsettled by the sudden intrusion of life.

Victor Ravenport |

"The feeling was just rather unsettling. For the first time in ages, I felt young and fresh again, if only for the glimps of a moment. You might not grasp it yet, my young friend, but at my age you are worn down and so endlessly weary of this constant existence."
The porcelain mask turns towards Melaphi, and gives him an approving nod. The notion is hidden, but the movement under the mask seems to suggest the sliver of a smile.
"It felt... wonderful.

DM-Kal |

Yeah, Victor, can we go over that in your discussion?
As the party enters the chamber, they see Sarcon correcting a man in fine silk garments with a long black cape. The man peeks over his shoulder at the intruder and the group, then raises a hand holding a quill and waves you all away dismissively. "I'm not taking visitors."
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, the map is up.

Melaphi Dasan |

Melaphi whispers to the group, "Spread out."
Melaphi moves forward and looks around at the tables and work being done. A brief look at the northern table, then heading south to the body on the second table.
"No visitors today? Shame. How about questions? Are you taking those today?"
In the meantime he puts aways his dagger and pulls a potion from his bags.
Protection from evil potion.

DM-Kal |

The man sighs and closes his book, turning around. "Without visitors, who would be here to annoy me with questions? Kindly excuse yourselves unless you've brought me something appreciable."
Kno:religion, will save, and perception and/or heal check

Victor Ravenport |

Victor raises his hands in a sign of good faith, the deed only being slightly hindered by the fact that his face is hidden by porcelain mask.
"A thousand pardons, sir. We did not wish to barge in, we merely wish to have a word with our female companion.
At this, Victor raises his hand at Crystal.
"If it would not be too much of an inconvenience that is.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
And a +2 if he is undead.

Fethryth Teldanona |

"Err, if seven strangers appearing in your house...dungeon....place isn't significant enough, then what does it take to get your attention?" Fethryth peers at the items on the table as she talks.

Following after Melaphi at a couple of paces between them, Marcello raise his voice at the sound of the annoyed man.
"How about you tell me whether or not I'm wasting my time here."
The words held the slow, deliberate meaning that came from meaning the threats, both said and un-said. And Marcello knew his way around those words.
Not paying a lot of attention to anything other than the man, Marcello doesn't care a lot about the tables... He was just sure to charge at him if he seemed to be ready to attack.

DM-Kal |

As Sarcon begins rolling up the rug, the man looks on in confusion and disbelief. He opens his mouth to speak, but doesn't seem to find the words.
When Marcello speaks, he turns to face the metallic bulk. "Yes, I would say you--" he pauses, seeming to remember something. "Wait a moment. Don't I know you?"

![]() |

Gripping the sword hilt, Marcello seems to tense up. Moving closer, it is obvious that Marcello is confused and therefore cautious. He is expecting to find a fight here.
"I wouldn't know... I have met many people... Where are you from?"
Raking through his mind, he desperately tries to remember if he has seen this man before. Any rolls? But it would be the same as telling him to remember a particular brick in the wall, not wasting his time on remember many others than his superiors, companions and sword enemies, Marcello doesn't seem to remember him at first.
