A killer GM with a killer smile.

Sure! I've posted a few questions there before in regards to my Real-Life Rifts game (under the same name - Rigor Rictus). Never hurts to have clarification.

I hold the opinion I do because in the Main book under the section on running it says other actions would suffer a -2, and then in parenthesis it says (the standard multi-action penalty). That to me says fairly clearly that Running simply counts as an action, and if you have a way of avoiding MAP, it would apply in this situation the same as any other.

You are right that it is an obscure point, and may not come up again for a while (though both K842 and Hyperkinetic have multi-action abilities, so it could be a tactic they wish to use). If we have the time to await the response, asking Clint for verification is a great idea, and then we know. My interpretation is my interpretation, but I am not the type to get all riled up about being right or wrong. If I'm wrong, we'll know for next time, and luckily it makes no difference here.

AFAIK, everything that I have seen certainly suggests that running counts as an action, mainly because it's listed under the examples of actions on page 66 of the Savage Worlds Deluxe Edition book (in the first paragraph).

I'll throw my hat into the "never even thought to consider running wasn't an action" camp; it's always been the most common MAP that's come up in games for me.

It has been a very busy week, much of which was spent with my parents whom I was visiting. I have a con this weekend, and I have some family business to take care of next week. I may be a few more days between posts, but don't worry. When I get everything straightened out, I'll be back on the action bandwagon. In the meantime, sit tight, or if I am in your game, please bot me as necessary.

Sorry for the delay, been putting together a complicated submission for another game and I get easily distracted. Will get us moving soon.

Hope that works out; I've never seen one of Wolf's games survive past recruitment. Still sad about that Drow game from years ago.

Update: My wife's elderly aunt has been moved into a care facility. My wife and I are tasked with clearing out her room of all her belongings and finding a place to store them. We have about 10 days to do this, and we have our own affairs to worry about as well. To complicate things, she has lost several savings bonds and other important papers (like her will) in her room, so we can't just go in and bulldoze the place. We have to look for the papers as we pack. It's slow going and very tedious, so until we get the room vacated, my posting will be limited, but I will try to keep pace as much as possible.

Just some dice. Nothing to see here.:

Body Armor: 1d20 ⇒ 9 +1 Tough

Cyber. It's ALL cybernetics.: 7d20 ⇒ (19, 1, 19, 14, 5, 2, 6) = 66

I already have the Security Detection. Re-rolling the 6.: 1d20 ⇒ 4

No response here:
Since you are wanting to use PA, which is generally incompatible with extra arms, you can reroll that one as well if you like.

Very boring here. Certainly not playing epic-level invisible 3D chess. Go back to your lives, Citizens.:

Hey guys, finally have power back, so I can tell you that I won't be able to post yesterday because I didn't have power. Finally came back on at about 11:30 last night, but during the day even work only had generator power, and the internet was down everywhere, so there was nothing I could do to actually let you know where I was.

Regarding the game, the next move here is going to be up to you.

Glad you're safe.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Added a "Persons of Interest" tab to the Campaign Info page. Let me know if there are ever any other campaign notes you want me to throw on there.

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:

This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

Sovereign Court

Yes, I am trying hard to play up my minor quirk. For right now. Don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up.

Yes, there is a page on the internet that I'm leaning heavily on.

No, I won't tell you what it is. (But it would be easy enough to find. =)

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

Sovereign Court

It dawns on me that I might like to share the definition of some of the slang that I find particularly witty. As such,

Concrete/Cement poisoning: What a person dies of after being pushed off of a multi-story building and hitting the sidewalk. Also known as deceleration trauma.

Sovereign Court

Wait wut?

Are Major Grimjack and Captain Aemelia Fairbarne so popular that anyone outside Castle Refuge military personal would know who they are?

I thought name dropping them would be sufficient.

It's been like 6 months IRL since the one time we ever met those guys, so OOC I didn't remember them. Thought they were more word salad. My bad.

Male Human Glitter Boy; Parry=7 (-2 size), (-2 when dug in); Toughness=32(18); Pace=10 (run d10); Charisma+2; Bennies=3; Wounds=0; Fatigue=0

Ditto. I just made another post, but since I (the player) didn't recognize the names, I'm going to say that the PC didn't notice them, mixed in with the word salad either.

Sovereign Court

That doesn't make any sense. Why are you asking for the major's aide's name when you didn't actually catch the major's name? Why not just ask for the major's (Grimjack) name?

And does Refuge even hand out ID's? My understanding was that it was kind of an ad-hoc sort of thing without something so central and uniform as ID tags.

IF they do hand out tags (and it appears they do since you're insisting on it) I'll just show you that.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Let's assume they have official ID cards of some sort.

Name recognition is Play-by-Post is always tricky, because events that would have occurred last gaming session or two session ago in a real life game usually happened 6 months ago or a year back in a PbP game. She did name drop Grimjack and Fairbarne, who while not exactly Grimjack's aide (an aid would probably be a junior officer, where Fairbairne is a captain) he was the one working with him the last time the group saw him.

I did create a Persons of Interest tab on the Campaign Info Page you can check back to in order to look up important names. Anytime I add a named NPC, I'll try to include them on the list.

Wraith, I understand you are playing someone from another dimension, but your improvised jargon is more than a little hard to follow. You may want to tone it down a touch.

Sovereign Court

Fine. Fiiiiiiiiiiine. Philistines! The lot of you!

Oh, wait, I guess you are too much of a philistine to know what a philistine is. =p

And did anyone even bother with my Tanstaafl link?? That's from Heinlein ya know! (Oh, wait, in order to know about Heinlein you'd have to read books.... perhaps if my next witty comments was some kind of sportsing analogy....) =p

Can someone give us a soft push so we can find a reason to roll some dices? =3

The part that gets me is...none of the other people in your profile/interludes talk like that, they speak like regular human beings with different slang, which is what I'd expect from a Minor Hindrance. The way it was coming out in-game was closer to a Major Hindrance of "Can't Communicate" or something.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

I actually just called someone philistine just a couple of days ago, so I know what it means. However, I also have a few definitions you might want to look up...

Ya'll ken unnerstand her? She jus talkin' out tha sidda her mout', you ask me.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Sorry ya'll. Been kinda caught up in post Christmas/back to life stuff. We moved our kids to another school, my wife has been having health issues, and so on. Been feeling pretty drained. Will make an effort to get things moving again soon.

I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:

Unfortunately, I have some bad news.

A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.

As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.

I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.

Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

I'm really sorry to see you go! I hope that this is an exciting opportunity for you, and that you have the chance for some real adventures. If you are interested after you get back, feel free to pop in and see what we are up to, as if things are still going, we'd love to have you back!

Sorry to see you go, man, even if it is only temporary. You've been on the periphery or involved with my PbP experience here in a positive way for years. Traveling sounds like this is a GOOD "leaving for now" story though, so I'm happy for you. =)

If anyone in this game who's not already in my Savage Worlds Necessary Evil (supers) game would like to join, it's open for "recruitment" (not officially, hence the quotes). Come join us HERE.

Just wanted to say that I'm still here. I haven't felt that a big cyborg has too much to contribute to this intrigue, but if something needs to be shot or punched or chopped into small pieces, I'm here. Otherwise K-8 is probably enjoying some lubricant.

All, I am in the midst of con season and I have two cons in the span of a month, one of which I am working as staff. If I am slowing things down, please feel free to bot me. If you are in my group, please be patient and I will check in as often as time allows. Things should be back to normal after the first weekend in March.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Been sick. Update coming soon.

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Sorry for the delays, and thank you for your patience. Still fighting off some illness, and of course my kids got sick after I did. Been pretty wiped out this week. All the same, appreciate everyone hanging in there. Will do my best to get an update posted tomorrow.

Got a case of the ol' "Well, I'm finally over it, sure hope I don't get reinfected by the family I infected...oh no!"s?

Sovereign Court

So it seems like Anya and Thumper are going in roughly the same direction as Arsenio, yeah? Like, if they had walked in a group, they'd all be at the same square/park?

Because, if that is the case, Thumper/Anya could be with Arsenio to talk to Skeletor?

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Yes, though Slender-man is over by the monolith, and Arsenio was requested at the Apothocary.

Sovereign Court

So, a RL buddy of mine is looking to get into PbP.

I immediately thought of this game.

Mind you, I understand that we have several Players right now, but we seem to have hit a lul and my chummer is HELLA good about posting a LOT. (I think he works at home, lucky duck. =)

Wouldn't be right away, and I'm not pushing hard, but if we need an injection of new blood to get some momentum...?

A killer GM with a killer smile.

Sounds fine to me. Have him check in here and perhaps pitch some ideas for his character.

I'm not sure how adding a new player is going to help if what we're waiting on is a GM post (unless my notifications have betrayed me again?), but more people is always nice.

After a long-ish absence, Rictus, you probably want to post in Discussion and/or send out PMs to everyone. Notifications get shut off pretty regularly for threads that are inactive for about a week.

Sovereign Court

Anyone seen Rigor around much?

A killer GM with a killer smile.

I'm around-ish, just havent been active. I PM'd a few players that had messaged me to see if I was ok. As I mentioned way way back in the recruitment thread, I suffer depression, and it waxes and wanes at different times. I've been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and just havent had much energy. Sorry for all the lag; I know the game has not been moving much lately. If you can bear with me, the bright side of these depressive episodes is that I know it will get better. Spring and brighter weather tends to help, and sometimes I can muscle through it by forcing myself to start things. Long and short is that I am not giving up, and will be back at it soon, I'm sure.

I understand completely, Rigor, as I also have depression. Take what time you need and I will be here.

I check the Gameplay and Discussion boards for this game every day, so when you come back, I'll be ready to go.

S'cool. You were up front about things when the game started, so it's not like you're leaving us hanging out of the blue. Hope the wave passes soon.

Sovereign Court

Anya giggles at Rigor and stands up. "This'll cheer ya," she says as she pops her shirt open and shows him her t!*!.

Oh you better believe that's NSFW. =p

Sovereign Court

Man, showing cleavage usually helps get a party started, know what I'm sayin'.?
