Thanks for you patience everyone. I've been waiting to see if I'm going to get any better, and so far the answer has been no. Rather than giving up I've decided to press on and do my best to just work through things. I'll try not to leave as long breaks as I had been doing.

Storm Dragon |

Sorry you're still feeling off, Rigor. If posting makes you feel better, I appreciate you running. Don't get too stressed out about it though, it's meant to be something fun.
Something I had to tell myself today, actually. Started freaking out about missing a self-imposed deadline for something I'm writing until I was about ready to smack myself.

Androva Ferrolil |

Rigor, take what time you need. As someone who lives with depression, I can certainly understand the need for a little "me time."

K-842 |

I'm still around. We've been playing together for years now, and I always appreciate your posts and your play. As I'm sure you know, I also deal with frequent bouts of depression and anxiety, so I totally get it. And I understand how those emotions can wrap themselves around your games and sabotage your efforts.

I did.. very much looking forward to it. After reading through SWADE, the changes seem to make things run a bit smoother, though I think I like the older chase rules better..

Atlas "Ace" Boomer |

Rigor - sorry, but I'm stuck. The way you described the high-rise makes it sound completely impenetrable, and I've completely forgotten what we wanted with Hides in the first place.

![]() |

To me, it sounds like we could hijack a delivery truck and have all of us sneak inside the ceiling-delivery area.
But, yeah, I admit that's a longshot and overall the place sounds like a "This Is Not A Place The PCs Should Be Allowed To Enter" kinda of thing.
I too am wondering at our motivation. Like, Hides killed a dragon, I guess? And we all are supposed to stop everything and...what? Question him? Kill him? Arrest him for an authority?
Anyone else have thoughts?

'Thumper' Jones |

I don't think nabbing Hides will accomplish what we want. We need to get approval. But I don't know how to do that. if this was a CRPG i would start looking for NPC's with quests that I had missed, so I was going to try to make it into the High quarter and speak with the mage I angered earlier.

Storm Dragon |

Ostensibly we're after Hides because what he did is illegal...where we initially encountered him.
It seems to me we should be looking for ways to get the government of here (TBH I forgot the city's name) to extradite Hides to Tomorrow Legion controlled territories.
Unfortunately that's the "only" reason now. It was initially supposed to have a lot more personal punch, I assume, because the dragon that was killed was one of the original PC's mom...but he dropped out almost immediately.

Jace Belleraphon |

Here is a link to the Briefing we got..
From the looks of it, we are supposed to get him to come in or at least answer some questions...

Atlas "Ace" Boomer |

I'm thinking that the building's inside security would be pretty tight - cameras everywhere, etc. We'd probably have a hard time getting to Hides, and do we even know where he lives in the building?

** spoiler omitted **
Almost before he can finish speaking, Thumper hops down from his barstool, folds his hands under his armpits so his arms make wings, and starts strutting around the bar, cluck-clucking, and pawing at the ground with his boots.
The bartender says, "And my boss doesn't like threats, especially from folk come asking for favours."
Dex laughs at the sight and then turns to 'Dougy,' "Give over, mate; wasn't that bad. Can't be robbin' everyone o' dignity, now can you?"
Thumper stops mid-scratch and suddenly seems to realize where he is and what he is doing.
"Dougy's my boy," Dex says, "And he's no lightweight, but 'e'll do the job right. Just concentrate on the memory you're sharing, and he'll pick it up. The whole thing now, that's the deal. If he treads outside the memory, you'll feel it, 'specially bein' a psi yourself."
Arsenio, you can make a Psionics skill roll to keep an eye on what he's doing, if you like.
When Arsenio nods that he's ready, Dougy stares at him intently for a moment, while Dex looks back and forth between the two. After a moment, Dougy nods.
DeX smiles a big grin, "Can't wait to see that, but I'm sure it can wait. Dougy says the image is good, so time for me to square up. The bloke you're looking for is called Arnan Drustov. Most people just calls 'im 'ides on account o' that dragon skin business suit o' 'is. He's a bit of a queer one, even as Dragon Juicer's go, and there ain't a lot o' their ilk. Ex-coalition; served 6 years in their Juicer corp. Since you folks obviously know at least a thing or two about Juicers, you will also know that it's the odd Juicer that lives 6 years, let alone lives to retire. Where it gets weird is that 'e was a regular juicer them six years; Coalition types wouldn't take anything that smacks of magic. Six years on the sauce and you're going 'ave a tough detox most wouldn't survive, and...
GM: By "digits" does that mean exact room number?
It would probably help if I invis-snuck in the top and saw if we could verify that theory, but, your "watch and wait and follow" plan is probably a good one.

I am going to be at a con until Monday and will likely be unable to post. Please bot me as necessary or, if you are in my game, be patient and I will pick up on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

'Thumper' Jones |

I think we need allies, this guy carved through Jace in a round, get-me is going to end is trouble.
I have two thoughts for Aid
the Guild
The mysterious Mage.
I am hoping the guild can get me a meet with the Mage
BTW, Also going to be a Paizo con all weekend

![]() |

Thumper, what exactly is your goal for going to the Guild House?
Does anyone have a vehicle that was let in to the city, that could hold all of us?
That was my thought for us stealing/borrowing/buying a delivery truck and sneaking in through the rooftop. (You can guard the front door all you want, but a big place with people is gonna need a metric TON of bread and meat and toilet paper every day and that dock is -not- gonna f%#* with checking everything too closely or no one is gonna deliver to you.

Atlas "Ace" Boomer |

I was thinking of using it to follow Hides when he eventually comes out of the building. I don't think a taxi driver is going to be willing to follow someone like Hides (ok, maybe with a *lot* of money, but...).
Thumper, I went searching thru Gameplay and could not find any description of a mage (unless that was Regius, they guy you pissed off when you scryed him?). Where was he mentioned, and what might he be able to do for us?

Rigor Rictus |

As you guys have discussed, this is basically just an assignment, but it has a pretty significant terretorial and political component. This guy was hunting a sentient creature that later turned out to be a Castle Refuge citizen, inside Castle Refuge territory. He killed all but two of her unborn offspring, and got away with 2-3 of their corpses.
You guys have been sent to investigate whether or not it would be possible to get him back to Castle refuge to face a trial for what he did, which was very much illegal in Castle Refuge. However, he is a citizen of Kingsdale, where killing anyone or anything that is not specifically a Kingsdale citizen is not considered a crime, as long as the killing occurs somewhere else. Kingsdale and Castle Refuge have informal relations, both being opposed to the Coalition, and at least resisting the influence of the Federation of Magic. However, they are not formal allies, and no extradition treaty exists.
Your job is not to bring him back at any cost, but more along the lines of investigate whether it is possible bring him back without it being considered an act of war. You've been given some latitude in trying to figure out the best way to do that, be it by negotiating extradition, luring him outside the city to a place where you can capture him, or wisking him away via something akin to what Batman did in Honk Kong in the Dark Knight. If you decide it cannot be done without being a blatant attack conducted on Kingsdale territory by the Tomorrow Legion, your commanders would much rather have you report that than provoke a potential war.
It is of note that the Tomorrow Legion does have an Ambassador currently in town, and while Wraith has taken it upon herself to help you out with your task, her official assignment at present is to act as his bodyguard and personal message courier. He has been spending his days in meetings and appears to be in no jeopardy whatsoever, leaving Wraith bored and with a lot of down time.
As far as Mr. Drustov's home goes, I think you guys have probably blown your chances there. Jace got made when he tried to delay him at the street level entrance and Grease recognized him. He now knows Jace at least is in the city, and that he knows where he lives. Whether he stays put, or just slips out through one exit or another, you'd have a hard time tracking him if he is actively trying to avoid you.
D-Lux did give you his apartment number, but it is more like a PO box number than a floor and location. If you could hack into the building's security, that would probably allow you to figure out the physical location of his unit. Building security is what it is; I just made it up based on Sci-Fi and dystopian movie tropes of what I thought a merc would want in an apartment building where the law allowed you to just do as you pleased. As DeX mentioned, it is probably not even the most secure building in the city, but it is definitely designed with the privacy of its residents in mind. Busting in would be definitely be considered a crime by the Kingsdale authorities, and the number of things that could go wrong with the attempt is a long list. That being said, nothing is impossible.

Atlas "Ace" Boomer |

Rigor - thank you very much for that summary!
So, fellow players, at this point the only viable option appears to be to contact the TL's ambassador in town to negotiate extradition with the town's officials. We could wait around the building for him to come out again, but since Jace got made, Hides could leave by some secret exit. Breaking in would get us in *big* trouble with the town's authorities if we got caught (and he might not even be in there anymore). Thoughts?

Androva Ferrolil |

I don't think that waiting around is the answer. He probably knows that we're out here and is either waiting us out or else has already left the building. If breaking in is a no-no, then I suppose that burning it down isn't an option, either? (LOL) You may be right in talking with the authorities. At least maybe they can give us permission to go in and see if he is there.

![]() |

Alright, I was gonna see about renting us all a U-haul to hide in so we could wait, watch, follow, and then nab him when the time was right, but it looks like we're leaning away from that and going with the super-exciting "do it legit and throw honest diplomatic channels" approach.
I'll throw up a flag and get this fun-chaos ball of fire going!

Atlas "Ace" Boomer |

Thumper's "mysterious mage" is still a possible option, depending on who it is and what Thumper thinks he might be able to do for us. Let's see what he says when he comes back from the con...

'Thumper' Jones |

I don't know what I expect to find, I am grasping, hat is why I went running back when the building team spotted the target.

Rigor Rictus |

So, my computer appears to be unrepairable at this point. I'm not in a financial position to buy a new one at present.
I guess I will have to press ahead with just phone updates. I find the phone a bit trickier, so I'll probably keep posts shorter to avoid losing too many posts.
Maps will be beyond me for the time being.
Thanks for your patience.

Jace Belleraphon |

I'm still here. I use my phone to update maps, but it's a little difficult to create them. That or just not as familiar with the tools I use... I use Google Presentation with the Slides app to get it done. I'm not fully versed in all the things you can do with it, but it works for me. I have an Galaxy Note 9. I like Roll20, but lack the extra funds currently to get Premium so that my phone can use it.

Of note only the GM needs Premium for all their players to get the benefit(s).

Rigor Rictus |

Hey everyone, figured I owed you an update.
I've been extremely busy the last few months. I was offered a new job and decided to take it. That meant I had to close off all my old patient files, then do three weeks orientation for the new job, and now I've started working it. Along with getting the kids back to school, I've had very little free time.
I'm still without a home computer since gravity got into it with my laptop. I'm still trying to figure out how much down time I'll have at the new job, in order to see if I can post from here.
TLDR: I'm not out yet, and would still like to get this game going again. Thanks for your patience.
