"That was weird." Hobbes checks the chest for traps and opens it if not trapped.

@Neverhome: the ground looks and feels like dirt, but if you try to mess with it, you'll discover that it's actually stone. Illusion magic is fun. ;-)
Inside the chest are a few changes of clothes and a single scroll of age resistance.

Watching Hobbes with the chest he had a little smirk on his face.
Friend Hobbes, do you remember that first chest we found? sitting out in the ice yes yes... those silly High sentenals had buried all the treasure underneath it and trapped the empty chest...
He said shaking his head with the mirth of the memory. He did not like this place... but htey would get by yes yes, they would.
Hobbes 'Rat Trap' Bitterleaf
"Well if there is anything underneath, I can't get to it."
Lyosha Neverhome
What's the chest made out of?
Lyosha Neverhome
Neverhome heads North, very cautious to avoid the dead Ravens.
Lyosha Neverhome
Not since we know we can bypass them now.
Neverhome rolls his eyes, shuts the door, and heads to the next closest one.

The remains of a giant wooden statue, carved to resemble a stooped and ancient beldame, lie broken and scattered across the floor of this chamber. Partially covered in this debris is the corpses of a pair of frost giant warriors. A set of massive double doors stands in the south wall, their faces engraved with a procession of humanoid figures. At the top of the doors, the figures are young women in the bloom of youth, but as the parade continues down the doors, the figures age, turning into pregnant matrons, stooped crones, and finally, at the bottom of the doors, into capering skeletons that vanish into a gaping tomb.
The are Iobarian messages inscribed on the other three walls of the room.
East Wall: "Under the full moon in summer, motherhood."
South Wall: "When the moon is dark in winter, death."
And, of course, there are several other places to explore if you feel like backtracking.
Lyosha Neverhome
Neverhome will search the warriors for anything useful before interacting with the door.
Lyosha Neverhome
Is the door locked?
Lyosha Neverhome
Neverhome opens the door.
Sigrun Jagrsdottir
"Anyone able to figure out what that says?" Sigrun asks looking up at the inscriptions.

This vast natural cavern is drowned in darkness. To the southeast, a ring of towering black basalt menhirs surround a great gaping pit torn into the cavern floor. Spiraling runes etched in white chalk cover the faces of the standing stones, which are painted with fresh blood. The bodies of two frost giants lie on the floor outside the ring. A border of countless skulls, both human and animal, surrounds the pit. A break in the border forms an entrance leading to the pit's edge. There, a flight of stone steps carved into the perimeter descends into the abyss. The air above the pit seems to waver and ripple as if from heat, but there's no discernible change in temperature.
Slowly circling the perimeter of the stone ring trots a fierce-looking centaur carrying a great warhammer, his hirsute body drenched in blood. On the pit's far side is a Huge eight-legged centaur with the body of a frost giant.
*cues boss music* I've updated the map (finally). Position yourselves as desired in the entrance room. Don't forget that this map use 10ft squares. I'm not rolling Initiative at the moment in case you want to chat.
Lyosha Neverhome
Do they look friendly towards each other or at odds?
Lyosha Neverhome
Okay then, hmm, but there's also dead giants around them as well...
Lyosha Neverhome
"What do you think?" Neverhome quietly asked the others.
Percy Silvershaper
There are dead frost giants about, so I say focus the blue one first and see what the bloody one does. If he objects to us, we object to him. Percy says as she again whispers a spell of Blessing.
Don't forget those +1's now. :)
Lyosha Neverhome
Neverhome nods before walking into the room and heading towards the giant blue centaur.
Double Move for 80ft.
Hobbes 'Rat Trap' Bitterleaf
Hobbes casts a spell on himself as he draws his bow silently answering Lyosha's question. Aspect of the Falcon.
Sigrun Jagrsdottir
Eyes shifting from the Frost Giant Centaur to the blood covered savage warrior before them, Sigrun draws hammer advancing alongside her lover. "Given that that one's covered in blood that isn't his, I doubt he's going to let us pass."
'Silence'
"well then no need to not hurry things along. Let us move forward quickly."he began following his friendly barbarians forward atop Mule
using my strategy ability to grant everyone the ability to move an additional 30 feet as an imeddiate action >^.^<
Sigrun Jagrsdottir
Now that's awesome! Bum rush! and you get to have mounted combat with a centaur, how awesome is that?
Hila the Orphan
Moved both Hobbes and Hila forward.
Hila almost gallops forward. The last few hours were battle-free and now it was time to end that.
Percy Silvershaper
Percy advances with her companions and purposefully keeps them between her and the monsters for now.

With a shrug to his friends not understanding the dark and hateful sounding speech he nudged Mule with his knees... and they charged.

Unfortunately for you, they won Initiative.
As you charge forward, the centaur shouts a command in Abyssal and slams his warhammer into the ground. There's an explosion of cold, and a wave of ice knock Silence off his horse. The catfolk is instantly encased in a 9in-thick block of ice. Simultaneously, the svathurim sets its lance and lunges forward. It walks over the pit with ease, blows through Hila like she isn't even present, and doesn't stop until its weapon is buried in Sigrun's chest.
Sigrun: 50ps piercing damage
Silence: 9pts cold damage. You're currently helpless but can break free with a DC 24 STR check. Alternately, the party can deal 27pts damage to the ice. Until you're free, you'll take 9pts cold damage each round on your turn.
Svathurim: 56pts damage, not shaken
