You land several blows that would have slain a lesser creature, but the centaur's too stubborn to die. Blindly, it lashes out in a final attempt at slaying you, but aside from a kick that grazes Neverhome, everything misses. Seconds later, your foe falls under a hail of devastating attacks.
He had 2hp left, so I'll handwave that last round. :-)

On the floor near the pit, you find a large ironbound chest. Inside are rough-cut gems, art objects, and jewelry. The bottom of the pit is covered with countless bones, most of them humanoid. In the center, you can barely see a single blue dragon scale.

Any creature descending into the Pit rapidly begins to age, which takes a toll on its sanity as well. Each round, make two saving throws. Fort DC 18 avoids aging +50% toward your next age category. Will DC 18 avoids the effects of an insanity spell. If you age past your maximum age limit, you die. The various age resistance spells grant bonuses to these saves (+2/+4/+6 for lesser/normal/greater), and a creature already at venerable age upon entering the Pit is immune to all effects. The ageing and insanity are permanent unless high-level magic is used.

Frost-Thunder Hammer:
Price: 24,824gp
This +2 warhammer is forged from blue steel and is engraved with Abyssal runes that read "There are no screams for those who die the frozen death."

A compartment fitted into the head of the warhammer can hold a single alchemical weapon (acid flask, alchemist fire, bottled lightning, or liquid ice), dealing 1d6pts elemental damage upon a successful hit. The alchemical weapon disappears after 24hrs. The stored alchemical weapon can be switched or refilled as a full-round action.

Once per day as a ranged touch attack, the wielder can slam the weapon against the ground to release a crackling bolt of ice that shoots across the ground toward a single target up to 100ft away. On a successful hit, ice immediately freezes around the target, trapping it within a 9in-thick solid block of pale blue ice. The ice blocks line of effect to the entrapped victim, who is helpless (but can still breathe) and takes 9pt cold damage per round until freed. The ice has hardness 0 and 27hp. A creature can break the ice as a full-round action with a DC 24 Strength check.

His blood cooling as the centaur finally fell Neverhome began to look over everything that didn't look like it was trying to kill them. Gazing down into the pit his eyes settle on the little figment of blue...

Neverhome reflexively tenses as Hila approaches again but relaxes when nuzzles the biscuit against him. "Da... do nyet be sorry, just try nyet to do so again." he manages to say after a moment. Picking up the biscuit he'll break it in half and offer one piece back to her.

Percy can't help grinning uncontrollably and bouncing a little as the two build the beginnings of a bridge, no matter how rickety.


The migrus slowly descends the steps into the Eon Pit. It returns a couple minutes later looking none the worse for wear. In its mouth is a dragon scale, which it drops at Neverhome's feet before resuming its silent stare.

He began tilting his head to the side more than a little confused. Was that a Human affection thing? Eyes widening a tiny bit he retrieved his katana and went back to poking about the loot while the migrus did its thing.
