Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

Yagello stands slowly wincing at a biting pain in his left shoulder. "Cowards! It's easy to leave traps in the snow rather than face your opponents man to man! Well, I'm not dead yet, so those fey better run while they still can!"

Gathering his composure now, he looks over his comrades checking on the injured. Forgetting past quarrels, he offers Sarya his hand to help her get up.

Grabbing one side of the chest, he says, "Well Sarya, look's like we fouled up missing that trap. Would you like to help me do the honors and open this blasted chest?"

Female Human (Taldan) Druid 1

"That'd be lovely, Caelia." Sarya exhales sharply and closes her eyes, lowering herself down until she's laying in the snow and looking up at the sky. The cold snow helped soothe some of the pain and at the moment she wanted nothing more than to just lay there for another hour or two. It seemed the rest of the group had other plans for her unfortunately.

Her eyes snap open when Zev makes his way over to her, licking her cheek tentatively. Sarya pats him on the head and looks over to the wolf. "I'm fine. Don't worry." The sound of Yagello approaching her causes her to prop herself up on her elbows. Her eyes alternate between looking at his hand and at his face before she finally sighs and takes the hand offered to her. She winces as she stands upright, trying to mask the pain with a short laugh. "Fine. Let's just hope it's worth all this trouble."

Seeing Yagello approach the chest, she frowns to herself. She didn't feel like digging up the chest at the moment but she follows anyway against her instincts, being far more careful this time around by taking slow, deliberate movements as she looks for any more signs of a trap.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 4 = 17

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

With Sarya back on her feet, Yagello carefully moves towards the chest. Taking a deep breath, he steals a quick glance to his rear. Satisfied that Aishe is uninjured, he shifts all of his focus to the chest protruding out of the snow.

Concentrate Yagello... Remember that rogue you once worked with? What did he always say? Look at the locking mechanism first and then fan your eyes outwards in overlapping circles...

Perception: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 4 = 19

Arkday, I'm going to say that you used your "act in the surprise round" ability and moved out of the way. I haven't found a definitive way to handle this, so I may change this ruling in future similar encounters.

Arkady moves to one side, the log narrowly missing the Varisian.

After the group picks themselves up, Yagello and Sarya approach the chest, looking for any more traps. The chest itself is massive, large enough to fit two people inside, and the lock appears to be open. Yagello examines the lock, the hinges and the entire lid, but does not see any new traps.

Sarya focuses on the bottom of the chest, carefully running her hands along the bottom edges. Sarya does not detect any traps, but notices that she does not have to lean down very far to reach the bottom of the chest. It is almost as if the massive chest is floating above the frozen earth below the snow, or perhaps is perched on some mound of dirt.

Satisfied, Yagello and Sarya open the chest, only to see the wooden planks of the bottom. The chest is empty!

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 1/Wizard 1 Status: AC 11, 7/13 hit points

Approaching carefully, Arkady just shakes his head and smiles grimly. "If you're going to leave a deadly trap, at least include a payoff for those that survive it, eh?"

Female Human Cleric (Merciful Healer)

Approaching cautiously, Caelia looks over Yagello's shoulder at the empty chest. "Well, that was certainly a wasted effort. Here now, let's look at those wounds."

Sitting down beside Sarya, Caelia summons positive energy with a quick prayer to Saranae.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Standing up, Caelia holds her hands aloft and again calls on Saranae to heal her wounded comrads.

Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Dang, rolled a 1. Good waste of a channel.

As Caelia heals those of the group who couldn't avoid the trap, Aishe draws her dagger, heading towards the tree from which the spiked log is suspended. Making sure that the weight is neither going to fall or roll onto anyone, she will sever the ropes holding the device in place, allowing it to fall harmlessly into the snow.

If she can't safely cut the spiked log down she will do nothing.

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

A bit unnerved about receiving divine healing, Yagello remains unusually quiet for a few moments. He stares blankly at the empty chest, then at Aishe heading towards the trees, and then back to the chest. Finally he stretches his arms out as high as they'll go, trying to work out the remaining kinks in his back and shoulders.

"Perhaps we should proceed then. These fey are cunning opponents, leaving an empty chest behind like that. They were counting on the avarice of human beings, and we fell for their trap even though we knew it was coming. Maybe we should focus completely on the task at hand and leave their trinkets for lesser heroes."

He is angry at himself for allowing his curiosity to get the better of him and vows to be stronger willed in the future. If no one has any objections, he takes the lead on the trail, scanning for any signs of their quarry.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 4 = 2

Wow, snow and Yagello's senses are not mixing very well so far!

Aishe can cut down the log.

Assuming everyone is moving along the trail, if anyone is using Survival to get a bonus to their Fortitude saves against cold, please post it here, so I know to adjust the party's speed (and time to travel) accordingly. I'll assume anyone that can make Survival checks without slowing down the group will do so automatically.

Female Human (Taldan) Druid 1

Sarya shakes her head when the chest is opened though she can't help but laugh at the circumstances. "Well...at least it's a nice chest. That's something."

When Caelia helps patch up her bruises, Sarya nods to her. "Guess we're even. Thanks."

Sarya holds up her hand as Yagello turns to follow the trail once more. "Yagello, wait. I'm not sure that's a good idea. It's obvious they knew someone was coming and put some thought into this. And I'm beginning to think Yuln was spared for a reason." Sarya holds up her hands defensively as she says the last part, anticipating what some of the others reactions might be. "I'm not saying there's some sort of grand conspiracy against us or anything. I'm just saying it'd be wise if we stopped doing exactly what they want us to do. We need to find another way to follow them that won't lead us directly into another trap or ambush."

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

Since it seems we're moving pretty carefully anyways, I'll go ahead with the Survival check unless anyone has any objections.

Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Hopefully, I fare better on the roll that really counts, the Fortitude check!

Yagello looks at Sarya with great respect, "Sarya, you speak with wisdom, and your tactics are sound. You're right, it does seem we've been like mice following a trail of cheese since we started this expedition. Let's see if we can find an alternative route."

Yagello scans the forest in their immediate vicinity looking for a parallel hunting trail or even some underbrush which might be passable.

If applicable:
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Survival (Tracking for any additional footprints off the main trail): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Wow! Outside of combat, the rolls have really not been kind to me at all!

Aishe has little chance of succeeding at a Survival check, but I'll try anyway.

Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Close, but no prize. At least I got double digits this time... :p

"Chances are that there will be more traps laid across their trail, given the amount of effort that went into that one." Aishe speaks absently as she scans the surrounding trees for further dangers. "All I can think to do that will help is to search anything suspicious for magical auras. There was none at this trap, so it may have been the bandits who left that there, hoping to fool the pursuit. Fey won't hesitate to use their glamors and illusions to trick us if they can, however..."

She checks the cold-iron quarrel she has readied in her crossbow, although her hands are shaking from the biting cold. "While both Arkady and I can wield arcane spells, there's no way we can match the innate magic of the fey. At least, not yet. But I think we'd better hope we're all quick learners in that regard. Yagello, Sarya, you both have superior woodcraft skills to the rest of us. If you think we should leave the trail, then that's what we'll do."

The falling snow has obscured all but the most recent or obvious of trails. Yagello and Aishe donot find anything beyond the main trail they have been following.

Although the snow makes any trails obvious and easy to follow (Survival DC 5), the constantly falling snow quickly obscures any game trails (DC +10), requiring a DC 15 Survival check to find any human tracks. The main trail is an exception, requiring no Survival check because of the sheer number of prints.

Yagello and Aishe will require an hour of searching to attempt another Survival check to locate another trail.

Igmar helps the others search, looking for tracks that don't follow the main trail.

"Perhaps I can be of some help. I have been on the road long enough that searching for tracks, or just signs of life, has become commonplace."

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 1/Wizard 1 Status: AC 11, 7/13 hit points

Arkady has no skills that are useful in this particular situation beyond Perception, so he will hang back and let the others do the work. If travel is slow enough, he will periodically cast Detect Magic and scan the area ahead and to the sides.

As the group considers their options, Arkady mutters to himself and looks all around, watching for signs of magical activity. He follows the group quietly, vigilant for the next attack.

Female Human Cleric (Merciful Healer)

With a shrug and a weak smile, Caelia shakes her head as she puts her supplies away "If it's all the same to you Sarya, I'd prefer to not keep score."

Joining the others in their search, Caelia moves up besides Igmar and observes their immediate vicinity closely.

Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

"Igmar is correct. There are other trails, though I fear they'll become increasingly difficult to follow with all this snow."

Female Human (Taldan) Druid 1

Sarya puts her hands on her hips and studies Caelia and Igmar once they locate a clear trail through the forest. Her face carries an amused grin as she looks around the trail. "A dwarf and a city girl getting along in the woods. I'm impressed. I could always use some apprentice druids, you know." Sarya turns her attention back to Igmar and Caelia and gives them a wink before casting a look back toward the clearing, squinting through the snow to try and get an idea of how far this new path is from the one they were following.

"I think it'd be best if we continue heading south for now. That seems to be the direction they're headed. We can cut through the forest toward the old trail every half hour or so to make sure we're still on the right track. Hopefully we can avoid any more nasty surprises and maybe even return the favor."

The party follows the game trails parallel to the main trail, periodically cutting back to ensure they are still following the main tracks, which are generally heading south.

After some slow but steady progress deeper into the Border Wood, the snow becomes increasingly deep. In this part of the forest, a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. A soft cascade of snow falls from an overhead branch, hissing softly as it strikes the ground.

In this part of the forest, the deep snowdrifts slow speeds to one quarter.

I just realized that I didn't really leave anything for the PCs to do, sorry about that!

"Here we go again! Watch out, everyone!"

Getting "the feeling" again so soon, Arkady looks around for whatever might be setting him off.

I'm not sure how we are walking, so my respond depends on whether Arkady is in the middle of the group or to one side. If he is in the middle with people around him, he will ready Ray of Frost to cast at anything hostile that comes into view. If he is more exposed, he will take the Total Defense action.

We can decide that first. I've put-up a map here, with Arkady as a reference point at F5. Direction of travel is south.

If everyone can post where they would typically be while travellng, I can use that as a reference to set-up future events in advance.

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

Unless incapacitated, Yagello will always be at the party's forefront. In this instance, let's place him at E-7.

F Half-elf NG Sorcerer 1 | AC 13 (16*) T 12 FF 11 (14*) | HP 7/7 | F +2 R +2 W +3 | Init +4 | Perc +3 (* Mage armor)

Since the 'map' is just a plain grid, does that mean that the ground is level and snow-covered? Are there any trees or obstacles that we have to take into account? You mentioned that the ridge was tree-covered. Or are we in the gully? I'm hesitant to place myself on the map not knowing these things. However, I think I had previously suggested that Aishe and Growler were following behind Yagello and Sarya, so place me accordingly.

Yes, the ground is level and snow-covered at this point. There are no trees or obstacles in the immediate vicinity. The gully is quite wide and broad, and the party is roughly in the middle (about 20 feet beyond the grid on either side).

It looks like regardless of where Caelia is standing, Arkady will be exposed, so I'll say he's using total defense.

Suddenly, in a flash of pale blue scales, a serpent-like creature with arms leaps out of the snow near Arkday's feet, it's tiny feet scrambling to scratch at Arkady.

The serpent-like creature is pouncing, using a rake attack with two claws, before biting (and attempting to grapple). Because pouncing is a form of charging, the creature gets a +2 bonus on attacks but suffers from a -2 AC penalty.

Attack from first claw rake: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
Damage from first claw rake (if successful): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Attack from second claw rake: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Damage from second claw rake (if successful): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Attack from bite: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 = 23
Damage from bite (if successful): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Grapple check from bite (if successful: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Uh-oh...
Confirm critical from first claw rake: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 2 = 21
Additional critical damage from first claw rake (if successful): 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Knowledge(Arcana) checks:

Caelia: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Arkday: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Igmar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

The serpent scrambles up Arkday's torso and knocks him to the ground. Caelia and Igmar both recognize the creature as some cold-weather form of a tatzlwyrm, a flightless cousin of dragons that tends to wait in ambush before attacking. Having selected Arkday as its prey, it will likely try and drag his body into hiding to feed.

Even with total defense, Arkady has an AC of 19, which means all of these attacks hit. That's 26 points of damage, which puts Arkady to -19. This would make Arkady firmly dead, but I'm going to post in the discussion board some ideas I have about this.

In the meantime, the combat can proceed as normal. Everyone except Arkady can act. The tatzlwyrm is grappled and has just charged, so the AC is quite low. However, please note that due to the deep snow, each 5ft square consumes 20ft of movement (1/4 speed). Map has been updated. Caelia can start from any square she wishes.

Quick Stats:

Standard Action: Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The pick sinks in, piercing the skin of the serpent.

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

I'm pretty late in the initiative order, but I'll be at work this afternoon from 2-10 EST...

Yagello's eyes almost bulge out of his skull as he cries out,"Arkady! Enemy at our flank!"His words come much too late as the Varisian wizard falls motionless to the ground.

Pushing his legs through the heavy snow, he tries to come to Igmar's aid as quickly as possible.

Double Move Action to D-5

Since I'm second to last in initiative, I picked my spot assuming Growler is going to move up first to engage the enemy (probably ending up in spot E-5 or so.)

Seeing the Varisian wizard fall under the serpent-creature's attacks, Aishe yells out to Growler "Get behind it girl!" before reaching down grab Arkady and try to drag him out of range of the beast's claws. "Caelia! He's dying... help!"

If Aishe can grab Arkady and drag him at least one square away (to G6 probably, or H7 if possible)from the serpent without provoking an attack of opportunity then that is what she will do. If not, then she will simply take a move action to get to E7, and then use a standard action to cast Mage armor on herself in preparation to help fight it next round.

F Gray Wolf TN Companion | AC 14 T 12 FF 12 | HP 8/13 | F +5 R +5 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +5

Growler springs forward, racing around the flank of the creature, trying to attack it from behind...

Move through D5 and D4 to E3, getting into a flanking position with Igmar this round, and attacking.

Bite attack, flanking bonus: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18
Bite, damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Growler has a base speed of 50' so I think that she should be able to get into that position despite the heavy snow?

Igmar's pick digs into the serpent's tail, and it screams in pain.

As mentioned in the discussion thread, Arkady is now at -4 HP (but not yet stabilized). Yagello, I assumed you meant E-5 so you can attack in the next turn, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Aishe, I'm going to treat dragging Arkday as similar in effort to "moving a heavy item", which is a move action that provokes an attack of opportunity, so Aishe will be casting mage armor.

Okay, no problem with that; I didn't think that she could do it, but it was worth asking.

Growler moves forward and bites the wyrm in the body, drawing the angry gaze of the creature.

Wolves have padded toes, which helps them move in snow, so I'm going to rule that Growler and Zev only suffer from halving their movement speed in the deep snow (and no penalty in light snow). However, Growler does not know the flank trick, so I'm going to say Growler moves to E5 instead. The attack roll still hits, though.

Map has been updated. Caelia, Sarya, Zev can still act. Arkady, since you are now dying, you will need to need to make a DC10 Constitution Check (with a -4 Penalty) to automatically stabilize for your turn (unless someone takes their turn to stabilize you with a Heal check or through other means). Failing this check means you take one more point of damage.

Male Human (Varisian) Rogue 1/Wizard 1 Status: AC 11, 7/13 hit points

Assuming no one is able to wake him up before his round:Arkady moans faintly as he falls under the serpent's surprise attack. Thankfully, his wounds appear not to be fatal.

Female Human Cleric (Merciful Healer)

Caelia will be at E7, by Yagelo and Aishe. I'll post in a few hours, need to put the little one to bed

Female Human Cleric (Merciful Healer)

Since the combat medic ability lets Caelia use heal without causing an AoO, she'll just go take a 5' step and stabilize Arkady.

Alarmed by the sight of the Tatzlwyrm, Caelia reacts quickly having been on guard as they travel in the awful weather.

Kneeling beside Arkady, Caelia quickly applies pressure to his wounds and skillfully applies first aid.

Sarya draws her sword and shield and lets out two quick whistles as she points towards the creature that had ambushed Arkady with her sword. "You know what to do Zev." Zev snarls and charges toward the creature without hesitation as Sarya trudges behind him in the snow.

Zev launches himself towards what appears to be the monster's throat, trying to latch on and pull it to the ground.

Zev Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Moving Sarya to G6 and Zev to G4.

So far the creature has taken 8 damage.

The creature dodges Zev's bite. Seeing it is out-numbered, it desperately wraps a coil of its body around Arkady and attempts to pull him back in the cover of the deep snow, hoping to feed on its victim later.

The tatzlwyrm uses a move action to pick up Arkady, and a move action to go to F1 taking Arkady (half 30ft speed because of the deep snow, similar to the wolves). Both actions provoke an attack of opportunity, so Igmar and Zev each get an attack of opportunity, and Growler gets two (because she has Combat Reflexes).

Assuming the creature is still alive after the attacks of opportunity, the map has been updated, and everyone else can take their turn.

Female Human (Taldan) Druid 1

Zev's initial lunge goes wide of the snake-like creature but the wolf doubles back as it focuses it's attention on securing Arkady. Zev leaps towards the creature's back with teeth bared, trying to topple it over as it wraps up Arkady.

Zev AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Confirmation: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Gosh darnit. I got excited for a second...Thanks for nothing dice. =(

Also wondering what everyone thinks about Sarya using entangle if he's still alive. I want to stop him from running off with Arkady since he's faster than all of us but I don't want to do something that might mess everyone else up. Up to the GM if I can use it though since I don't think there's much vegetation around. Maybe manipulating the grass under the snow? Or maybe the snow itself? That'd be kinda neat.

As the Tatxlwyrn retreats with Arkady clamped in it's maw, Aishe brings her crossbow up and aims, shooting into the back of the creature...

Attack, light crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage, light crossbow bolt: 1d8 ⇒ 4

<Sigh!> If this dice roller were a physical die in front of me, it would've been taken outside and pulverized with the wood axe by now, then brought back and left on the table as an object lesson and warning to the other dice to behave themselves...

Aishe reloads the crossbow as her move action.

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

Seeing the creature escaping with poor Arkady in its grasp, Yagello exhales shallowly through gritted teeth. He drops the cold iron longsword into the snow and draws his shortbow.

Free action to drop longsword
Move action to draw shortbow
Standard action to attack the tatzywrym

Attack (shortbow): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
If successful, Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Looks like our favorite dice roller strikes again...

Male Human (Taldan) Ranger 2 (Skirmisher) HP 14/22 AC 20

If possible, I'd like to edit my last action to include an actual "move" with drawing the shortbow. Please place me at E-4.

That's what I get for posting my actions while watching two children 5 and under. :P

The wolves try to bite at the wyrm as it escapes with Arkady. Zev and Growler each get a bite, and Zev tries to throw the creature to the ground, but the serpent is able to right itself and continue on.

It continues into the snow, dodging arrows fired by Aishe and Yagelo, then pauses for a second as it hears Igmar's song.

Normally, "The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents this ability from working" (Distraction, CRB), but I'm trying to be generous here...

Tatzylwyrm's Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

The creature dismisses the tune and dives into the deep snow, taking Arkady with it.

The creature has taken 12 damage total, but is immune to tripping. It now has partial soft cover from the snow, which gives it a +2 AC bonus against ranged attacks (but no bonus to reflex saves, since it is soft cover), or a total AC of 17. To be generous, I'm going to say it still has the "grappled" condition by holding Arkady, taking the AC back down to 15.

The map has been updated. Sarya, Zev, Caelia and Growler all still have actions this round. Sarya, there is abundant vegetation beneath the snow, so you are free to use entangle anywhere in The Border Wood.

Female Human (Taldan) Druid 1

Sarya's pace slows considerably as she watches the creature snake its way through the snow. There's no way I'm going to catch that thing in this snow... With a look of renewed determination, she sheathes her sword and focuses on her empty hand as she makes several quick gestures. The creature's escape is quickly cut off as long grassy vines erupt from beneath the snow, showing an almost animal-like instinct as they flail about in search of prey to ensnare.

Making it so the tatzlwyrm is caught at the edge of the spell with the rest of it behind him. There should only be a square or two to his left and right and then like 80 feet of it behind him. Basically just trying to cut him off. But if you could fail your reflex save, that'd be lovely. And if you roll a 20, I'm flipping this table...somehow. =P

Zev continues to give chase to the creature, barking angrily as he bounds through the snow after it and Arkady.

Zev Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Trip(just because): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Zev's moving to G2

Edit: Thought it'd help if I told you it was a DC 14 reflex save so you don't have to go looking anything up.

Zev races to catch up but just misses the tail as the creature begins to navigate Sarya's magic undergrowth pushing up from underneath the snow.

Tatzylwyrm's reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Well, at least I didn't get a 20...

The creature brushes past the green vines, and while a few briefly hold onto the tail, the tatzlwyrm manages to slip through the various grasps and holds.

Map has been updated, including a (rough) outline of Sarya's entanglement spell. Caelia and Growler can still act this round.

Growler bounds after the wyrm, snarling...

Move to E2.

Attack, bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage, bite: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Female Human Cleric (Merciful Healer)

Summoning as much courage as she can, Caelia rushes forward and dives between the two wolves and tries to grasps at a foot, arm or anything she can to try and hold onto Arkady.

Whispering frantic prayers to Saranae, Caelia's free hand suddenly glows brightly with divine energy. Slapping her hand quickly onto Arkady, she attempts to heal him.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Combat medic lets Caelia cast heals without causing an opportunity of attack, but I'm not sure I can heal a grappled target? If not, let me know and I'll take another course of action.

I'm not sure how Caelia could reach Arkady from where she currently is, given the deep snow (one quarter movement speed). I don't have a problem with healing a grappled target, though.

Growler takes a nasty bite of the wyrm's side, the scales peeling back to reveal the warm flesh beneath. The serpent panics, seeing the increasing vines in front of it, and the wolves flanking either escape route, and tries to bolt past Zev to relative freedom.

The tatzlwyrm has taken 19 damage now, and attempts to escape (with Arkady in tow) with a move action to I1. This provokes an attack of opportunity from Growler and Zev.

Map has been udpated, and everyone can now act in the next round as well. Assuming she is taking back the cure action, Caelia can take two turns.
