I have not yet received this shipment. According to the website, this package was shipped on December 14th, so I think it should have arrived by now. Is there anything I can do to confirm the package is still on its way? I sent an e-mail on Jan 20, but I haven't received a response yet.

In a nutshell, Mythic is mainly useful for allowing lower-level characters to engage with higher-level creatures, or similar-level creatures with matching mythic abilities. This was done partly because it was "easier" (in particular easier to scale to more difficult encounters without some existing progressions becoming unbalanced), and partly because it would sell better (because they are not limiting themselves to player's with level 20+ characters, but even 1st-level characters that can become mythic). That being said, you can use the mythic rules to simulate epic play somewhat (using mythic tiers in place of 20+ levels), but your mileage may vary. In particular, mythic tiers are more interesting and useful if earned between some level ups, not all after 20+ adventuring.
I can't speak for everyone, but for me it comes down to the fact that you only get one chance to submit. I have had a submittable entry for a couple of days now, but given a bit of extra time, I'm happily polishing the submission a bit more. I've worked with other systems that permit multiple submissions, with only the last submission being used. I realize the system is probably setup the way it is for some technical reason that is ultimately beyond the control of anyone listening, so it's not big deal. I just end up panicking when the button moves around on the page!
The form (and contest schedule) used to be visible at http://paizo.com/rpgsuperstar (it's even in Google's Cache), but it's not there anymore! I think it's supposed to be open for just over two more hours, any ideas on what happened? |
