Yea, I did not ever remember that they fascinated.

![]() |
Sigh. I get that some of you are unhappy but here.
Darga the Allip
You want to be broken out of the condition? Sure.
You're all free to act.

![]() |

So an attack ends the effect, but does not preclude it using it again on those of us who failed the save. Fascinating. I could read these things all day. :)

![]() |

This is a case of specific overrules general.
Normally if you are fascinated, someone walking up to you with a weapon would break you out of it. For the Allip's they don't.
To be honest, when I read the entry, I assume it is only the character that is actually attacked that is broken out of the fascinate, rather than everyone who is fascinated. I think nightdeath's reading is much kinder than mine, and to be fair, probably more accurate.
This is not a bard fascination effect, but a confusion type one with specific changes.

![]() |
The Allip is one of those monsters where it's ability makes it a pain. Unfortunate that most of the party failed and I sensed general discontent so I had the effect break.
Else Darga the Allip will be touching everyone........or caress their faces.

![]() |

And people forget that they can shake others out of the fascinate effect. And some GMs disallow it incorrectly. The rule seems plane to me. "A fascinated creature’s ally may shake it free of the spell as a standard action."

![]() |

Now that I do look at it, it does say "An allip constantly mutters to itself, creating a hypnotic effect" and "an attack by the allip does end the effect", not that the effect is ended for one specific character....

Lini does not have Knowledge Arcana and I certainly have not looked up the creature so these are just suppositions: the creature is huge so could easily have 15' reach. If so, it can attack us where we cannot reach it with melee weapons. While obvious, it is worse than it may seem because if we wait for it to move and attack us we cannot 5' step and attack like we could if it were only large. So to attack it with a melee weapon we will provoke. And I fear that if we provoke each head will get an AOO.
IF we can create some obscurement we might mitigated this. Does anyone have fog spells?

![]() |

Reach is usually something you can tell by looking at a thing (unless it happens to be Inspector Gadget).
Prisim probably has the right knowledge skill for the job.
Nearly all of us are slow, and have a 20 foot movement speed. *rim shot!* So might I suggest a lot of fighting defensively or going total defense. The paladins might try to contain the creature by encircling it. Most of us can self-heal a little bit. Can Lini cast while being a bird? Did she meditate for any healing today? Or have a wand? She could ride about the parameter on her cat healing those in need. Lannior can fight from afar and carry a wand too.
Fog and other hindrances (illusions, obstacles, etc....) will keep us in the game longer. Again that's mostly Lini and Prisim area of expertise.

Lini can trade her entangle for an obscuring mist spell (or another cure light). When cast its centered on her though and does not move after. She has one cure light memorized and will get her Flaming Sphere on the map quickly. She does have Natural Spell and can cast while in bird form, but she cannot use her wands while shifted.

Prisim isn't much of a knowledge girl, but can ask.
Normally you only get one AOO for any given action, the Hydra is one creature, even if it gets multiple normal attacks.

![]() |

I believe hydras are special that way but do not recall for sure. Until proven otherwise I would worry about every head taking an AOO. Lets hope it does NOT have combat reflexes.

![]() |

Omrijka will have cashed in a favour (spending 2PP) to have restoration cast on her

![]() |

I'll roll my (poor) arcana check when my initiative comes up.
You could have probably done it when we heard we were fighting a hydra.

![]() |
Yes Please do your knowledge checks as It is already anounced it is a Hydra. It'll help the party. :)
Will post more later, am at work.

![]() |

arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
I spoke too soon, and bahh, in wrong threat, but I'll keep that 20!
Lets go for defences/immunities, followed by special attacks

Traveling until Tuesday. Actually lost my laptop in airport security and am tying to keep up with games on my phone. Hard to do. Bot me I’f needed.

![]() |

@GM - So based on the latest post, I did do the chase correctly the first time. I based my second turn on the assumption I had incorrectly done my first turn.
May I retcon my second turn, based on the correct rules?

![]() |
Yes you may.
Also I'm ending the chase scene and Have Lini Dive bomb the friendly thieves.

![]() |

I'll be at a small con Friday-Sunday and will have little time to post. Please bot me if needed.
