Mephos, Whisperer of Secrets, slips away from Pandora's Box in the Canyon, silently stalking the red rock formations that form a stone forest of sorts within the canyon....
From a hidden pocket, ever concealed from the other Fierce Ones, he produces a white whistle of bone, shaped like a strange dragon....
Raising it to his lips, he sounds a high, wavering wail....an eldritch call....
A moment later, a great, dragon-like shantak silently drops down out of the starry night sky to land on the canyon floor with a tremendous thud! It dips its wing, forming a ramp for Mephos to ascend to mount its scaly back, to which an equally scaly harness and saddle have been strapped....
Seated on the great winged beast, Mephos snaps the reigns and the shantak beats its leathery wings, voicing an unearthly call that echoes horribly in the canyon!
Up into the star-studded night sky he flies, an evil smile on his handsome face....
My Lord Cthulhu will reward me handsomely for all the information I'm about to bring him.... Perhaps he'll even make me an outsider with greater powers.... An incubus, or a glabrezu, perhaps.... I should hope he grants me at least such power, for what I'm about to give him.... The location, names, appearances, powers, mannerisms, and even the weapons used by his chief enemies.... With this knowledge, he will be able to easily crush my erstwhile companions. What glory it will be to see that self-righteous Derrik and his friends get smashed like the bugs they truly are beneath the heel of Almighty Cthulhu himself! So sweet.... So precious....
An evil laugh mingles with the weird cries of the shantak as Mephos rides on the night winds to inform his Dread Master of all he has learned of The Fierce Ones and Pandora's Box in the Canyon!

Radsworth waits near the back of the formation, simply observing. As the newly acquired professor exclaims magic is afoot, Rad grins.
"The trouble with magic.." he whispers..".. is when someone else knows how it works."
Rad begins another invocation, priming the round inside of Traveler. He aims it down the hallway and waits. Rad will bypass a turn if needed due to initiative orders, but is readying an action: When he sees the enemy begin to cast a spell, he will let his burning hands spell fly, channeled through the gun and set to erupt in the hallway past the fierce ones and in whichever manner snags the most enemies and the spell caster.

Stepping diagonally across the spawn killed by Yingzen brings Derrik within reach of three other spawn, which swiftly fall to pieces under Dawnbringer and Excalibur! A path to their sorcerous leader, who wields what can only be the Hammer of Thor, is quickly being cut!

It's true, he would've gotten the inspired bonus, but with a result of 19 + 2 = 21, not 22....

The FOs stand stunned by the brief appearance of the ghost of a mythic god in their midst before giving chase after the greenish gas....
The gas leads them through the chamber to the south, which appears to have been a museum room with shattered and looted display cases (someone made off with the Crown Jewels, Sword of Justice, and other priceless artifacts!), and out onto a balcony, down the covered gangplank to The Kraken, into the U-boat, down a ladder to the cargo hold, where there are thirteen coffins with small air-holes drilled in the lids....
The gas billows and streams into the air-holes in the coffin lids, coalescing into solid, incapacitated bodies inside....
Who wishes to lift the coffin lids?
