Wayfinder (1 @ 0 lbs) A small magical device patterned off ancient relics of the Azlanti, a wayfinder is typically made from silver and bears gold accents. With a command word, you can use a wayfinder to shine (as the light spell). The wayfinder also acts as a nonmagical (magnetic) compass, granting you a +2 circumstance bonus on Survival checks to avoid becoming lost. All wayfinders include a small indentation designed to hold a single ioun stone. An ioun stone slotted in this manner grants you its normal benefits (as if it were orbiting your head), but frequently reveals entirely new powers due to the magic of the wayfinder itself (see Seeker of Secrets page 51).

Fluff:

Background
Dr. Naomi Levinson (typically just called Levinson by her friends) was a geneticist and professor before the rise of the Old Ones. She was never one for combat before and preferred to spend her time working in her lab, teaching her students, or being with her family. Her father was renown physician Dr. Gideon Levinson, and was the biggest influence on pushing Naomi towards science and studies. He was killed during the initial waves of Lovecraftian horrors swarming major metropolitan areas. Naomi was formerly engaged to another Yale faculty member, Prof. Isaac Malcolm, who taught philosophy. She still blames herself for his passing four years ago when their plane crashed coming back from holiday, and she survived.

She was raised in a traditional Jewish household but never really found much meaning in the doctrine at the time. For a time in her youth she delved into the esoteric practices of Kabbalah, but it was a fad that fell by the wayside. Now that the arcane has become manifest in the world, she turned her attention back to pouring through all the books she could on the eldritch and the occult. Combining her knowledge and belief in magico-theurgy and genetic research, she was able to call forth her Eidolon, an outsider of astonishing power. She took all she could from her destroyed lab, grabbed her deceased father's service revolver, found a racing motorcycle at an abandoned car dealership, and set off to find others to help fight against the Ancient Unspeakable Horrors.

Appearance
Naomi is 5' 9"/140 lbs with long snow white hair and amber eyes. Along the underside of her right forearm is a minimalist tattoo of the 10 Sephirot (Tree of Life) and a brand of the sigil of Mephistopheles. She tends to keep her hair in a messy bun and wears thick rimmed tortoise-shell glasses. She is wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket over a v-neck shirt, jeans that have seen better days, leather boots, and a low riding modern-style gun belt. Between her backpack and a military duffle bag, she has crammed all the gear she was able to salvage before fleeing Connecticut (including her last surviving bottle of merlot).
