I think bless is up, but that's it iirc.

Not really a buff but life pact is on...Theriahm, Ajax, Ara, Anail, Rasamoro, and Whitwood's "Friend".

![]() |

@GM
I just realized a mistake I made, but it looks like it can be undone without any need for retconning. I mistakenly cast Cat's Grace three times, but I can only cast it twice. I memorized Cat's Grace and Versatile Weapon. I used a 2nd lvl Pearl of Power to recast it once, but that should have been it, as Ranger's must choose their spells ahead of time.
As the +1 bonus I was receiving from Cat's Grace does not seem to have been a factor in any of the rolls I've made to date, one option is to simply remove the buff moving forward, leaving Ajax with his remaining 2nd lvl spell.

@GM,
I was looking at the rules for Gaze attacks, and it seems allies are also affected.
Allies of a creature with a gaze attack might be affected. All the creature's allies are considered to be averting their eyes from the creature with the gaze attack, and have a 50% chance to not need to make a saving throw against the gaze attack each round.

GM Zoomba |

Hmm, and it doesn't say anything in their tactics or abilities that would address that, so you are correct. Red and Yellow would also take the damage.
And after this I'm going to bed for the night. Enough complicated combat for me until the morning :p

![]() |

@GM, more complicated questions.
Is it possible for Ara to position herself against the Blue elemental such that Roland could take a 5' step behind her and have cover?
E=elemental, A=Ara, R=Roland.
E
E A R
E
It would seem if Ara puts her self in the middle square, Roland could 5' step behind her and he'd have cover on all sides.

GM Zoomba |

As the fire elemental is multiple size categories larger than you, there could possibly be partial cover of the cat was right beside Roland. However, Roland could also just 5-foot fly up and be out of its reach (he's at the edge of Blue's reach right now as it is.

![]() |

@GM
When attacking fire elementals with natural weapons, do you take any burn damage?
Also, I assume Ajax can see both Red and Yellow elementals from where he's at?

GM Zoomba |

No fire damage from hitting an elemental yourself, not.
And from the 'ground' level Ajax can actually not see Yellow and Red - there's an opaque wall of fire in the way.

![]() |

My bad. For some reason I thought the elementals were 30ft high., but they are only 15. Moot anyways.

GM Zoomba |

It's going to be 0% (the gaze and the fire), unless the elemental chooses to close its eyes - or eye equivalent things.
Though it did a good job while it lasted :)

![]() |

funny.
Next time Ajax kicks a rock, he'll think of 1274d.

![]() |

In a recent scenario that takes place on the elemental planes, we asked the GM if we ever saw an elemental just vanish from thin air when summoned (poof-like those insurance commercials)

![]() |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Comes back, shaken and scarred. All it's friends cluster round to offer aid.
"what happened buddy?"
"Humanoids. Violent, angry humanoids."
"They never summon us for tea, it's always for beating things to death."
Maybe this year of pathfinder society is the elemental planes getting their own back for years of abuse at the hands of summoners?

Rasamoro: at the beginning of your turn, unless you are shutting your eyes entirely, you take [dice=damage]2d10 and will need a Fort save or take [dice=Charisma damage]1d4 this round.
The PRD lists this as one way to avoid suffering Gaze attacks.
Averting Eyes: The opponent avoids looking at the creature's face, instead looking at its body, watching its shadow, tracking it in a reflective surface, etc. Each round, the opponent has a 50% chance to avoid having to make a saving throw against the gaze attack. The creature with the gaze attack, however, gains concealment against that opponent.
Does the scenario specifically prohibit this?

GM Zoomba |

That would also help avoid the Charisma damage risk, that is true. I should have clarified. The damage itself however is automatic and save-less: ghost gaze's are odd enough that even averting eyes would do the full HP damage.

The damage itself however is automatic and save-less: ghost gaze's are odd enough that even averting eyes would do the full HP damage.
Hmm. I guess I was interpreting the rule as giving someone a 50% chance to avoid the Gaze attack entirely, and thus obviating the need for a saving throw. But it sounds like you're saying that even blind-folded, the gaze attack still hits.

GM Zoomba |

So, we are very close to the scenario's end, so time for some bookkeeping.
First, Rasamoro and Ajax I still need your PFS #s.
Second, Please roll your Day Jobs (if you have them) now
Third, if any of you are going slow track please let me know Otherwise my assumption is that everyone's going 'normal speed'
And finally (but certainly not least) as part of the gameday, everyone has the opportunity to win a boon! Roll a d20 here, like so:
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 6
and if the result is a '20' or a '16', you're a winner!

![]() |

# is in my stat line, 43870-1
Also, my Player name is: Arrowhawk on Mythweavers
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 20

![]() |

Yeeeees! 20's where it counts.
Also, thanks all for a great adventure, was jolly good fun.
Special thanks to GM Zoomba for running, had a great time!

day job caravan:diplo: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
boon: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Very good job GM, and thanks to everyone else as well!

GM Zoomba |

It was my pleasure. I had a really fun time running for you guys. This isn't the longest scenario or necessarily the most complicated, but it has a few fun and unique encounters that I enjoy (and I appreciate you sticking with me for some of the gnarlier parts of them).
I will try and have the chronicles created tonight or tomorrow at the latest. When I do, I'll post the Dropbox link here. If you'd rather I email them to you for any reason, just PM me the address.
Also, congratulations for both Whitwood and Ajax on winning boons! I am going to need each of your email addresses so that the Gameday organizers can send them to you. You can post them here or can PM me. It is my understanding that the boons will likely not be sent out until the conclusion of the gameday, so patience as it may not be until early December (between Gameday wrap-up and the holidays)
Whitwood: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Whitwood, you are getting Player Boon #4: I hear you’re going to the elemental planes soon…
Ajax: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Ajax, you are getting Player Boon #5: Over-specializing is always a good thing when it doesn’t cost anything…
Beyond the hints above, I'm as in the dark about the exact details of the boons as you are.

It was truly a pleasure to play with you as a GM. If you have a spot in any if your future games, I'd love to join if you'll have me. You are consistent with your posting, very knowledgeable about the rules yet always open to debate or explain how things work,and most of all, playing that scenario with you was fun! My sincerest thanks for running it.

Great game. Enjoyed playing with every one of you. Roland, I am going to steal some of your character options. Anail and Rasamoro, very impressive frontlining. Whitwood, first time playing with a high level summoner and I was not disappointed.
Would love to play with any of you again and Zoomba did a great job.
FYI, I hear Shifty is running another special and there is an 8-9 table that I'm signing up for, hope to see some or all of you again.
Zoomba, please PM me if you have any future openings, as I have other characters at different levels.

GM Zoomba |

Aw, thanks guys. Glad you enjoyed it :)
You're chronicles are up HERE. Please let me know if there are any issues or problems with them.
Whitwood and Ajax, I still need an email address to note for where to send your boons to. Please let me know in a PM. I will report the session once those are received.

I've done several PbP's and I must agree with everyone else here. This scenario ran so smoothly, I am very impressed! Zoomba, you ran everything very efficiently, but with enough time for everyone to get their piece in. To the other players, I thought you all were great about posting consistently. That may not sound like a compliment, but having been a part of an inconsistent game, it makes a HUGE difference! Looking forward to gaming with any of you again. Thanks everyone!

Would it be possible to set this game as inactive do that it doesn't appear in my campaigns, please? Thanks!
