Before we head downstairs, can I get an idea of time elapsing for buffs? Do you think its been 7mins or more for one? 70 mins since our fight with Black at the Golemworks?

GM Ladile |

Yes, I'd say it's probably been about 70 minutes or so since your fight with Simublack over at the Golemworks and maybe 15-20ish minutes since you got to the Doll House.

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Thanks, that makes things easier to untangle. I enjoy my alchemists, but tracking the buffs is difficult when there usually isn't a convenient timer ticking away!

Hey folks, I'll be heading out of town later this morning and won't return until Wednesday afternoon. While I'll have my phone handy and might be able to sneak in a post or two Tuesday, don't expect much from me until I return.
Regarding our current time frame I'll say that while we'll likely run past the 'official' end of Gameday we'll hopefully be done by/before Thanksgiving - that's what I'm pushing for, anyway. And truth be told we've made really good time on this scenario; we're about a month or so in and we're getting close to the end so good job everyone! :)

GM Ladile |

Just a note that I went ahead and got the game reported so HQ can do their thing and get Gameday wrapped up, so if you see the session show up (or those of you who won boons see them arrive) then that's why. But there's not much farther to go and then I'll get your chronicle sheets to you too :)

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Dun dun DUN! Thanks.

GM Ladile |

Happy Thanksgiving, guys! Or Happy Thursday, if you prefer. Or both, that's cool too :)
I'll have an update shortly but given that it's a holiday for most of us please don't feel pressured to post today!

GM Ladile |

Thanks for bearing with things guys, I know this combat has kinda felt like a slap-fight so far between the difficult terrain/tentacles and my guy being unable to shake off Enora's glitterdust...but I think things will start getting more entertaining now that a couple of you are about to close the distance :3

GM Ladile |

Just a quick note - I apologize if my comment in Gameplay about map movement came across as overly harsh. It's an issue that I've had come up with some frequency across a couple of my GM games within the last few days and it can slow the flow of combat down even more if I end up needing to retcon actions based on player movement or lack thereof. But as I also said, if map movement is difficult due to mobile posting (believe me, I've had my fair share of 'phone posting, someone please move my token' moments) then just let me know and I will do my utmost to position you where you want to be :)

GM Ladile |

Okay guys, aside from a little wrap-up we're officially done with the scenario! Thank you for being patient and I apologize that last battle took us so long; there's a lot going on as you could see and I tried to make sure that I ran it correctly. I'm currently at work but if I don't get a chance to get your chronicles done tonight then I will have them for you by sometime tomorrow at the latest. You've all been great players and I hope you've enjoyed the scenario - it's a fair bit more straightforward than some that I've ran in the past which was actually a refreshing change of pace :)
Good job on Enora dispelling that Alarm on the door leading into the basement earlier, otherwise Black would've been buffed more than he already was. He did make his check to hear you guys right away at the door with the Magic Mouth though, so he already had a couple of things running before you ever entered the lab. And of course Enora's Glitterdust slowed him down since he couldn't see to target anyone with his other spells so that's why he spent a couple of combat rounds buffing too.
Apologies for the Black Tentacles but that was literally the first thing he does per his tactics. From reading the GM Thread on this scenario you guys weren't the only ones that said tactic really jacked with.
The secret of the syringes is that they target anyone (except Black) that remains in the same spot for a full round - so keeping moving was key! And yes, a lot of GMs do/did target people that were grappled by the Black Tentacles - so this battle can potentially get reeeeeally ugly in a hurry when all of those conditions (plus the entire room being difficult terrain) snowball.
And the containment chamber golem was a little disappointing because I didn't roll well enough for it to do much but those bolts that kept popping off every round could have hit someone. The cylinders breaking was also hazardous for anyone standing close, as they would've taken some splash damage from it. Ah well ;)

You did well GM Ladile. Thank you for running and thank you everyone for the enjoyable game.

Enora, the Halfing Arcanist |

Yes, I had a lot of fun. Sorry I couldn't do much during the battle, but that's what Black Tentacles is supposed to do.

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

I am super glad I didn't get caught in the initial black tentacle cast else I'd probably be stuck in there like the others... being able to fly helped quite a bit too.
Happy no one died and Mykel got to experience his first taste of rat scrotum. A good time had by all, thanks LL!
PS, I like the spoiled wrap up/explanation of how our actions affected things down the line. Gives much more weight to actions that may get forgotten once you get to the end.

Thanks to DM Ladile, you were great as usual. And don't worry about that last battle, sometimes the way scenarios are written and dice rolls can generate undwerwhelming action for a few players but that's how the game is, so there's really nothing to blame here!

GM Ladile |

Slightly late due to some technical difficulties but BEHOLD! You can find your chronicles >>here<<! Please look them over and make sure that everything looks good. If there's a problem, just let me know and I'll get you an updated chronicle as quickly as I can.
I'll give folks a little time to check in, get their chronicles and the like and then mark this campaign inactive within the next couple of days. Thanks again for playing guys and I hope to GM for you again at some point :)

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Thanks! I'll review all this stuff later when I get home.
A quick question though if you happen to know the answer.. since I'm using a pregen, how does that work with the spellbook and copying spells. Both the pregen and Luurg are alchemists.
1: Can I copy anything at all into Luurg's formula book?
2: Who's skills do I use to do this? Luurg's or Damiel's?

GM Ladile |

That's actually something I don't know the answer to but I'll see what I can dig up on the forums!

GM Ladile |

Okay, it looks like you can copy any spell from the book as long as it also appears on the alchemist spell list. Given that this is technically a chronicle for Luurg then I would say/rule that you use Luurg's skills to do the copying. Spend the appropriate gold for what you want to copy and then I'll note the spells on your chronicle...which means I'll need to make you a new chronicle once you get everything in order.

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Ok thanks. Luurg has no spellcraft so would have to buy a headband of INT with spellcraft to do it. Which he could with his present gold and that was on his possibility to buy list.. I just need to decide if that's the direction I want to take him.
Here's the loot list on the chronicle if anyone wants it for their character sheet:
Dusty rose prism ioun stone (5,000g)
Lesser extend metamagic rod (3,000g)
Oil of keen edge (750g)
Potion of barkskin (300g)
Potion of cure moderate wounds (300g)
Potion of cure serious wounds (750g)
Ring of counterspells (4,000g)
Slippers of spider climbing (4,800g)
Wand of protection from energy (CL5th, 10 charges; 2,250g limit 1)
Sassone leaf residue (300g; limit 2)
Trusty Buddy: adamantine crowbar: 3002g, limit 1: +4 circumstance bonus on Strength checks to open doors and chests, bypasses DR when used as an improvised weapon)

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Ok after some more thought and planning, I have decided to indeed buy that headband of int +2 with spellcraft for Luurg, then copy these three spells out of the spellbook: Taking 10 on spellcraft will net Luurg a 22 on the copy check.
False Life 40g DC16
Displacement 90g DC17
Stoneskin 160g DC18
That leaves a grand total of 4,290g spent!

GM Ladile |

Alrighty, got Damiel/Luurg's updated chronicle added to the link above! Let me know if anything looks out of sorts :)
I'll likely be marking this game inactive later this evening but I'll keep the chronicles uploaded for the foreseeable future so if you need a new copy at a later point just PM me!

Damiel the Bomb Tosser |

Got it, thanks!
