Just reply here and say you don't want to play in it.

I'm sorry i guess i should specify. There is a chance your character will change in some way. It will not change stats or race or things like that. but it does have a change to add some fun Role Play elements to your character for telling your adventuring tales.
well it looks like i need to recruit 2 more. i feel bad skipping over all those players but i need level 3 or higher.
Bubo Sraga and Leena Almadill please report in.
Kao GM, I'm fine with going. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't some drastic mechanic change. I'm all for RP and thematic changes :) If either Bubo or Leena don,t want to go, I will.Oh well you were first. Bubo Sraga and Leena Almadill can join 5 players is still fine.

Ok all you level ones. I have a nice "quick and easy" encounter for you. And by "quick and easy" I mean "nerve-racking and deadly".
So all the level ones climb aboard and head over to Land Ho!

Races and classes allowed are any Paizo published material. Stats are done on a 25 point buy with 200 gold to spend on starting gear.
Once you have created a PC, make a post in this thread saying you are ready to go adventuring, as well as the game play thread to keep track of when games start.
Hope that helps :)

Hello!
The idea and concept behind this all seems pleasantly intriguing, and I had an itch to run an encounter or two for a while (but without the time to dedicate to an proper campaign!).
I'm a rookie GM, but somewhat experienced pbp:er - so I have plenty of 'how did that guy manage to get it to work' to draw upon! Once I've tested the waters so to speak I might try to run some more encounters eventually - and I will most certainly look into creating a character of my own!
I've glanced over the campaign information tab, and it seems as if an APL ~2 encounter would fit right in! As luck would have it, I have one on tap ... : ) (Well, to be honest, a similar one easily adjusted!).
I thought I'd post a link of what I planed for the other more experienced GM's to review - so hopefully no worries about unbalanced encounters :P As soon as someone drops by and says 'Okay, welcome aboard!' of course.
Cheers! //Lessah

Some of us use the tool linked below to plan our encounters:
So, based on this, if I wanted one Hard encounter (which I do, right, since the party can go NOVA on this one encounter) for 4 players, I would do 4 x 100 x 2 = 800XP, which would be a CR 3 monster or two CR 1 Monsters, or 4 CR 1/2 Monsters, etc.
You could probably do Epic difficulty, actually. Each encounter is just one encounter, typically, so the party usually goes nova every time.

@Exp budget - Handy : )
I've poked around a bit, and I must admit, I am a bit fuzzy on the exact scope of the events.
It sounds like the thought is just one singular fight, but in some places it hints that one may GM a short mini-adventure (something like a small fight -> obstacle -> fight) instead?

Correct. At the GM discretion, one could indeed run a fight-challenge-fight. Typically the PCs will gain 2 levels after such an event. I could see the argument on 1 level should the fights be "equal" to the difficulty if combined to a single fight (hope that makes sense).
In the works I have a "3" part adventure. A 3 story complex. Find item on level 1, then find item on level 2, then finale on level 3. Each PC would gain a level after floors 1 & 2.

And should you ever need a reference: the campaign tab has both an XP breakdown link like the one Kale provided as well as a WBL link breakdown to help with loot creation/division if needed.

Lessah |

Aight.
With five characters at/around level 2, the exp budget should be 150*5*3 =2250. If split between two simple encounters of say ~1000 & ~1250, it should fit within the parameters of the challenge!
Splendid : )
Edit: Perhaps a tiny bit more exp on each combat, since there would be a pause in between!
@Links - Yepp, saw them : )

Alright, I'm ready to GM another encounter.
It's open to levels 1, 2, and 3. The first 6 people to respond in the encounter thread are in. Ready, go!

Edward Sobel |

hello all, saw this when looking at some other requirements.
I like this idea, and I have the encounter thing as well as character advancement/creation down.
its the treasure bit I am really confused about. I take it that the treasure will be whats available in the encounter or another PC has to make it for you at some set price.
I am rather confused here with that. lets say I want a specific weapon, or an armor with a specific quality (say fortification) how do I get it?

Withal Selrun |

This is exactly the place my friend! DM Stylz is generally in charge of things around here but there isn't really a sign up process. Just find some available players from the list and invite them to your encounter!
Amazingly, we seem to have a deluge of GM's at the moment so there's some competition for available players. Do you have an encounter ready to go now?
