I have one for PFS (Tamisiel) that just hit second level and there is one that is in the Mummy Mask game I play in.

They are fun, really good with Knowledge checks and being a skill monkey but pretty week in melee; even in the mid levels with their Studied combat & strike stuff. The Empiricists archetype is popular since it lets you Int for a bunch of useful skills.

I built my PFS Investigator to demoralize in combat which is fun and seems to be working well. The one that plays in Mummy's Mask maxed out his Acrobatics and took Parana strike to be more effective im melee. He got hit with con damage though and has been proving to be a decent archer/ bomber (alchemist Fire).

I was thinking about going the Intimidation route as well. And, I love Empiricist! I was debating on whether to just go with Enforcer and wield a sap in combat until higher levels, or if I should go the route of Dazzling Display for combat demoralizing.

Dazzling takes weapon focus which takes a +1 BAB so you can't do it until 5th and it takes a full round action. enforcer is definitely a better route. IMHO

That's what I was thinking as well. The other thing I like about Enforcer, is the Shaken condition lasts a number of rounds equal to the amount of non-lethal damage dealt. Whereas Intimidation is 1... maybe 2-3 rounds if you're really lucky.

Thanks for the suggestions, Dydimus. I'll tell you, I don't know why they didn't just make Empiricist the standard Investigator. I think poison use does not really fit the concept of the investigator... perhaps an archetype, sure, but not for a standard investigator.

Olga, you signed up as Sovereign Court, but your character shows as Liberty's Edge. I reported Sovereign Court. That OK?

Grand Lodge

Apparently, I was confused. I had her as both in different places. Sovereign Court it is!
