Yojimbo looks over the information in the battle plan on the supplies.
Survival:1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 1 = 22
"You are carrying a great deal of supplies. You could likely reduce your weight and move faster if you take into account the numbers you will lose in the battle."
Dhiara turns to Kiku and takes her hands. "I see that you have the eyes of a true seeker. Perhaps we should talk a while?"
Kiku, you're right, this is your special contact. Take a little time to chat here if you like. This is your opportunity to act on your letter from your faction head.
Meanwhile, Yojimbo's suggestion improves the battle map and causes the War Council to make even better placement of their troops.

Kiku smiles, her eyes flashing with surprise, as she did not expect such a positive reception to her modesty overture.
After conversing with Dhiara for some time about the intricacies of the Iroran faith, Kiku attempts to segue into Tahonikepsu's request.
"I have to confess that I am not just here to help you all in your battle against the giants and to learn more of your faith, though each of those would be purpose enough to bring me here. My patron, a woman of great age and wisdom known as Tahonikepsu, the Diamond Sage, has heard glowing words of you and your exploits from your fellow Irorans at the Monastery of Tar Kuata. Therefore, she has asked me to pass on a message of greeting to you."
Kiku bows deeply once more, her torso managing to become perpendicular to the ground.
"If I can prove to you that our cause is worthy through my assistance, I would be overjoyed if you would consider meeting her."
That would be your second roll in Phase Two anyway, which isn't allowed.
But... since this isn't for gaining influence with the Council, I'm okay with declaring that it happened in the coffee break between Phases Two and Three. Perhaps you could convince a certain helpful halfling to help you? I know one that is simply dying for a chance to assist someone...
I'll also note that the module allows for a circumstance bonus for RP here, which you have more than earned.

Ah, okay. I wasn't sure whether it counted as an attempt to influence or not or against the roll limit per phase, so I figured I should roll anyways.
During a break in the council meeting, Kiku draws Juniper aside.
"Um...I'm sorry to have to ask this of you, but I'm not sure of the best way to broach a certain subject with Dhiara." Kiku shows Juniper the note she was given.
Copied it below
The Letter:
The missive is sealed with a wax seal bearing the symbol of the Diamond Sage.
Elite Agent of the Sages Kiku Caritas,
The monastery of Tar Kuata in southwestern Osirion is an esteemed school of history and enlightenment. Several of your colleagues visited it recently in search of someone who might command the power of a sage jewel, only to learn that the most honored student has spent many years traveling the world to better understand its challenges. Her letters to the monastery suggest she is now in Averaka. Find her, and encourage her to meet with me. I doubt a direct appeal will work, so I am relying on you to earn her trust and admiration. Show her that the Jeweled Sages are a worthy cause through your own actions and words.
In eternal service,
Tahonikepsu, The Diamond Sage
Once Juniper appears to have finished reading it, Kiku backs away and bows to her.
"I would be most honored if you would lend me your assistance."

"Certainly, Kiku. Did you know that I trained at Tar Kuata?—hey, I must be one of the 'colleagues' mentioned in your letter who visited the monastery! Imagine that. Boy, the Pathfinder Society sometimes seems big, but it really isn't. How can I help?" Juniper seems overjoyed to assist someone as kind-hearted as Kiku Caritas.
Addressing the elf, she says, "Esteemed Dhiara, would you believe the coincidence? I too studied at Tar Kuata, albeit ever so briefly. I was only there long enough to receive introductory lessons in fighting while blind-folded," she holds out the blindfold that she was given by the monks at Tar Kuata, before ceremoniously covering her eyes with it. "I practice daily, and hope to one day hone my senses to a state deemed worthy by Apsu, the Waybringer. That, for me, would be perfection. I have not traveled long with Kiku," she gestures blindly yet also accurately at the human, "but I have known her to be both wise and honorable. My hope is that you take her for her word, and trust her as I trust her." Juniper smiles.

Dhiara gazes at both of you with her golden eyes, as if trying to take the true measure of you both. She inclines her head to Juniper. "I had not thought to meet anyone else who had studied at Tar Kuata. It is an honor."
She surveys the room, her expression softening as she watches her friends from the War Council study the battle map once more. "This little community, so improbable and rare, has entered my heart. I admire their fierceness, and the intensity with which they protect what they have built against a constant threat from the giants." She turns back to you, eyebrows raised. "Show me what you are made of, Pathfinders. Protect these people, and I'll consider visiting your Diamond Sage."

Kiku blushes at Juniper's glowing recomendation. She subconsciously draws her kapenia farther over her face.
"You shame me with your words, Juniper. I am not worthy of such kindness."
Kiku smiles broadly, the beginnings of tears in her eyes, as Dhiara gives her response. When she finishes, Kiku wipes her eyes upon the edge of her kapenia, then bows once more.
"You have my deepest gratitude, Lady Dhiara. If I may, I would like to swear an oath of service to you and your people, as a symbol of my devotion.
Kiku sets out ten of her ofuda in a semi-circle on the ground. She kneels before them, hands clasped and eyes closed. As she says the name of a deity, she points to its ofuda, drawing that god's holy symbol in the air with her other hand.
"I swear by Arqueros the Golden Bulwark to protect the people of Averaka, by Dalenydra the Blessed Attendant to heal its wounded, by Damerrich the Weighted Swing to pass judgment upon its enemies, and by Ragathiel the General of Vengeance to carry out the sentence."

She opens her eyes, looking directly into Dhiara's.
"Let Eritrice the Heart-Speaker show you the truth of my promise."
Kiku collects her ofuda one-by-one, in the same order that she named them, returning them to her haversack.
@Harsk: I will let you do both Phase Two and Three when you come back to us. I'm moving everyone forward.

RELEVANT SKILL CHECKS -- Reprise by Request
Improve the Battle Plan: Knowledge (geography) or Profession (soldier); if you are proficient in at least one martial weapon you may instead use 1d20 + BAB + (Int or Wis modifier); bonuses on attack rolls against giants may be added to this as well, as may favored terrain (mountain).
Impressing Councilor Kalla Tusk-Breaker: Kalla leads the town gaurds and oversees the patrols around Averaka. You can match her tough demeanor with Intimidate, demonstrate knowledge of outdoor skills with Survival, or judge which parts of the plan worry her most and address them with Sense Motive.
Impressing Councilor Bravok: Bravok serves as Averaka's chief ambassador, traveling throughout the Inner Sea region to spread the word of Averaka and attract more half-orc settlers to the island. Bravok also manages the town's largest temple, devoted to Desna. Tactful overtures (Diplomacy) and confident speeches (Perform: oratory) resonate well with his style. He also respects those who connect on a religious level (Knowledge: religion).
Impressing Councilor Suota Iron-Tongue: Suota maintains Averaka's lore and society, serving as a teacher for children, artists, and craftspeople alike. She promotes curiosity and education. Those learned in cultural lore (Knowledge: local) and classical education (Knowledge: history) earn her respect, as do capable wordsmiths and educators (Linguistics).
Impressing Dhiara: She responds well to calm, measured arguments (Diplomacy), especially those that relate to her dedication to Irori (Knowledge: religion). She is a highly accomplished monk who trained in Osirion and has spent the past several decades traveling the world, combating evil, and testing her skills against the Inner Sea region's villains. As a result, she respects those who are well traveled and have learned lessons from the places they have seen (Knowledge:geography).
Everyone adds +1 to their checks. Grigorii gets to add an additional +4.

Shel approaches Suota Iron-Tongue at a measured pace. "Ma'am, I have heard long about your appreciation for the culture of the area. Perhaps that is the most important reason we battle today. Not only will the Giants sow havoc amongst the citizens, hen will also assuredly destroy all the local arts your people have created. No one has less an appreciation for culture than the Giants, ogres, and trolls at their command. It's imperative our plan works to save the arts of the land!"
Azara seems intrigued by the new comer, especially after hearing her speak of her past achievements.
"You and I share a common bond, Dhiara. I, too, commit myself to a higher power. Irori and Asmodeus are not that dissimilar. Yours the Lord of Runes, mine the Lord of Contracts. Both hold the highest respect for Knowledge, Law, and Order. Likewise, though by birth we are not affiliated with this settlement, I also respect the empowering effect it seems to have on this populace. I think it is worthy of protection as well."

Phase 3: Improve Battle Plan
Satisfied with what she had learned from Bravok and Dhaira, as well as that she has accomplished she could for Tahonikepsu for the time being, Kiku finally follows Yojimbo over to the map of the battle plan.
Spiritualists are proficient with kukris, scythes, and saps, so she is proficient with at least one martial weapon
She takes some time, making sure to not make the same mistake as Yojimbo and forget to read the map key. She finally turns towards the councilors.
"From my own meager knowledge of the ways of war, I think that your plan is very good. There is just..."
She loses her words, suddenly remembering that she is talking to a number of half-orcs, people that have been fighting this enemy for years, people that have probably known violence better than she ever will. Who is she to presume to question their plans?
She looks back to the map, the little markers representing the people of Averaka, people that she has promised to protect. If speaking up would save even one life, it would be worth it.
"I...um...please pardon me if I am overstepping, but I may have a suggestion."
She points out positions to the rear of the formations.
"In my training as a servant of Dalenydra, I learned that it is ideal to keep healers in reserve until after the melee begins. It reduces the chance of them dying to large-area effects, they cannot heal as effectively on the move, and...some enemies like to target healers, even those who wear her symbol."
Dalenydra is basically the god of medics. Her holy symbol has basically the same meaning as the Red Cross does in the real world, as far as the rules of war are concerned.

Phase 3: Impressing Kalla Tusk-Breaker
Yojimbo stares down Kalla, his arms folded in front of him.
"I would know the mettle of she that leads these soldiers."
His ectoplasmic form intensifies, the orange shade veering towards a voluminous red.
"Do you fear death? Even when I was alive, I did not. I was--and am--am Samurai."
"The Way of the Samurai is found in death. I have meditated every day on my inevitable death. I meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears, and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown in the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease, or committing seppuku at the death of my master."
With each item in his list, the burning ectoplasmic energy that comprises him strengthens until his form has become a raging fire, tongues of energy flaring out in all directions.
"Every day, without fail, you must consider yourself as dead. This is the substance of the Way of the Samurai."
Instantly, his form softens and he returns to the quiet flickering of before. The fire remains in his eyes.
"Thus, I ask of you, do you fear death? Or have you already accepted yours?"

Turning to Shel...
"You're right. The giants will wreck havoc on the town unless checked."
Grigorii returns his lute to his bags before returning to the battle plan. Sometimes, I think singing expresses more feelings than I even knew I had.
With fresh eyes, he sees the tension Kalla carries. Back and arms rigid, discerning scowls shown briefly between fierce grins. This woman cares deeply for her community. It is her responsibility to keep these people safe, and she carries that burden with her always. But, she need not carry it alone.
"Kalla, I know you worry for your people, but this plan is the best it is going to be. You only wear yourself down trying to find flaws. Now is the time to trust in your warriors to do what they've trained for, their jobs. And trust me and my party to do ours."
Suota pats Shel's hand. "Not all valuable learning comes from books, friend. To know our arts and cultural scene, you have to experience it. Perhaps your friend Grigorii can aid you?"
Fail.
Dhiara smiles but does not return the fiery swashbuckler's flirtations. "Protecting Averaka is a good ideal. I will see you on the battefield."
Fail. You barely missed. Dhiara's DC was tougher than anyone else. However, maybe you can still impress her in battle!
Kiku studies the battle plan, and her suggestion for organizing the healers improves it.
Success!
"Even your spirits and halflings are fierce!" Kalla declares. "Such fierce warriors should not have to fight alone. Let me reallocate the troops a bit more." Turning to the dwarf, she nods. "Your knowledge of the terrain is invaluable to our planning."
Two successes -- Yojimbo (only due to Halfling aid) and Harsk
Harsk's attempt to impress Suota with his language skills merely has the Councilor shake her head. "At least you can speak giant. Maybe you'll hear overhear their plans on the battlefield?" she asks dubiously.
Fail.
EDIT:
Grigorii's attempt to bolster Kalla's fears, does not work out, in spite of the half-orc's evident charms.

I'm pretty sure I could make it if I rerolled that 1, but I'm confidant that we've plenty of successes. I'll save it for a failed save or something dire
D'oh! We posted simultaneously. I've edited the results post above to reflect Grigorii's botched Sense Motive roll.
Your preparations were very good, and will help you all the Averkans in the upcoming battle. The battle begins at dusk, so you still have a few hours in town to shop, eat or do other things before the battle.
IE: The GM needs to figure out battle minis for the Giants, AND is busy today with out of town guests and cleaning for the aforementioned out-of-town guests. There'll likely be no battle post today, but feel free to banter amongst yourselves, charm the widow baker, talk to the troops (if one-sidedly)! The size of the town is sufficient to allow any purchases of up to 1500 gold that aren't horribly exotic.

Harsk will talk to some of the town militia members about the giants and numbers, weapons etc...
Grigorii spends the afternoon indulging in this new-found half-orc culture. He drinks and sings with warriors preparing for battle, wanders the streets admiring craftsmen at their work, and samples plenty of the local... cuisine.
You spend a few hours in Averaka, talking with the militia, shopping and eating supper with the town. Averaka girds itself for war as shopkeepers and fisherfolk alike hug farewell to their families and put on arms and armor. These are not professional troops, merely townsfolk trying to defend their own, but some of it do with more confidence seeing all of you here to join them. Grigorii sings for the troops, and Harsk gives them advice from his many years of experience fighting giants.
The Averakans have sent plenty of additional aid to help you (i.e. the abstracted troops have higher HP so they can stay in the fight longer). Neither they nor Dhiara will be on the map, but both will have an effect on the combat here.
You take off an hour before dusk, marching along the Little Thunder. The roaring river comes to a sudden stop at a crude dam, built with mud, stones, and logs. Muddy water trickles through the dam and drifts sluggishly to the north. A small stone outpost on the east bank of the river has been heavily damaged, its outside walls chipped and scraped. A group of Hill Giants is guarding the dam, and they roar when they see you. The Averakan troops, inspired by all of you, roar back.

Juniper leads the way, blind-folded and tapping the path in front of her with her quarterstaff, carved with a dragon's claw on top.
When she hears the roar of giants, she quickly readies her shield. (swift)"Friends, the time has arrived. Let's show the Averkans what we are made of!"
Juniper drops her staff (free), and moves forward while drawing a wand (move). Doing so, she trips on her overly long cloak (free). "OOMPH!"
She then casts shield from the wand. (standard)
It may seem strange that I want Juniper to fall down, but tactically, it is not a bad idea. The giants won't be able to engage us in melee right away, but if they use ranged attacks, they take a –4 penalty to attack her while she is prone. On her next turn she will start buffing your ACs.
@ GM: Juniper is blind-folded right now, so ranged attacks against her count as if the attacker is invisible.

Juniper gives a stirring speech, then trips strategically. Yojimbo delays for orders from Kiku. Shel fires one shot against the Blue Hill Giant and hits.* Harsk fires off three rapid fire shots, but two of them miss due to the Giant’s tough hide.
The Red and Green giants pick up rocks. The Green Giant, looking decidedly un-jolly, throws it at Harsk. ”Wixii Dhagax weyn Snot!”

The Green Giant’s rock hits Harsk hard, but far worse is the rock that hits the poorly armored Averakan militia. You hear screams as several fall and die, including the local cobbler and the cute half-orc dockworker who’d flirted with Grigorii when you first arrived.
Still emboldened with all your planning assistance, the feisty Averakans attack, shooting a mass of arrows and tanglefoot bags that deal 10 points of damage to each giant, and inflict them all with the entangled condition this round.
ORDER:
Juniper, Harsk, Shel, Green Giant, Red Giant, Kiku, Yojimbo, Grigorii, Biter, Azara, Averakan Troops (acted), Black Giant, Blue Giant

*Shel, if you do get sneak attack damage you can roll it now. EDIT: Nope, not within 30 feet. Never mind.
I wait until after Kiku has acted, giving her a chance to cast before she has to decide to rage for the concealment or not.
With a gutteral howl, Grigorii begins his raging song (standard), calling forth spirits to protect and embolden his allies. He then starts moving toward the bridge.
Anyone accepting the song right now gets +2 Str/Con, +2 Will morale bonuses, -1 AC, and 20% concealment v. ranged attacks.
You can always choose to accept or decline for a round at the beginning of your turn. Will this affect the troops?
Grigorii chooses to use the bonuses from his Barbarian Rage class feature.

Unless someone has a preference otherwise, I'm going to leave out the badger. I would leave Kiku out except she needs the speed to keep pace with Yojimbo so he doesn't poof :(
@Grigorii While it's a great buff, I just can't see Kiku willingly going into a rage. I keep getting an error message in my head when I try to imagine that picture
A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 7–11.
The cataclysmic Earthfall shattered the ancient Thassilonian civilization, and like its slumbering runelords who fled the destruction, many ruins lie hidden. The Ironbound Archipelago was once part of Edasseril, kingdom of envy, and word has reached the Pathfinder Society that an ancient ruin has emerged on the isle of Flintyreach. Can the PCs gain the local half-orcs’ trust and brave the resident giants’ wrath to secure this archaeological treasure?

I am doing this scenario at the urgent request of two awesome PFS GMs who have never had a chance to play PbP before: Nefreet and the Fox.
Everyone else: the only reserved seats are for the Fox, Nefreet and possibly Gerald. (Gerald, like Nefreet and the Fox, is an awesome player who is running out of open scenarios.)
Everyone (including Gerald, the Fox and Nefreet) gets to apply and give me some sample RP. I'll be picking the rest of the group from the remaining applicants, and won't necessarily go with the first people to apply.
If you're interested, please apply with the following:

You never thought you’d call a half-orc attractive, but there is no other word for the man standing before you. The tattoos and scars across his broad shoulders, muscled arms, and back draw your eyes towards areas at which you really shouldn’t stare. You miss what was said as he laughs heartily, combing back his dark, wavy hair with one hand. A deep, rich sound. Relieved to find yourself looking at his face, you can’t help but notice his eyes, shining from below his pronounced brow. They are a bright piercing blue that stand out in contrast with his grey-tinged complexion; so different from the dark eyes natural to his race. As your gaze strays down his face, you notice his tusks. Small and white, accentuating his easy smile. They peek out of his mouth as if he were perpetually biting his lip. As you take it all in, he draws the lyre from his back, strums a chord, and begins a song.
vaguely russian accent "Hah! As I say, everyone has a little anger inside them. I just inspire them to let it out! I was never the strongest fighter in my youth, but when you grow up in the fighting pits you learn to win or you die. I learned to keep strong friends around and to ... encourage them to fight they're best. I had quite the fearsome reputation. It must have caught the attention of the local shaman, because he took me in and taught me the ways of spirits and magic and gave me these scars. Now, I use what he taught me to aid my comrades in battle as we seek dangerous magical artifacts to study and control."
Grigorii is boisterous and easy around people but he distrusts everyone, especially figures of authority, and rebuffs personal questions with diversion, lies, or (if necessary) intimidation. However, he's fiercely loyal to allies once they've been proven in a fight. Most recently he has been to Absalom investigating the Silver Mount collection, in Magnimar's Bronze House rooting out Aspis plots, and in Bellis, Andoran defending the town from the forces of the Fellnight Queen.
I usually inspire rage at the table with my Taylor Swift parody lyrics, but I am open to suggestions if anyone has a favorite song they would like adapted Rage Songs
I will check back in later tonight. I haven't chosen which character to play yet, and I might decide based on the composition of the party (the character level will be 7, 8, or 9).
Azara Emberkin, LN Chelaxian Asmodeus-worshiping slave-owning Ifrit Swashbuckler(8). Sovereign Court. If we're doing low Tier I'd prefer to play her.
Dr. Narsius Blote IV, CN Taldan Wizard(1)/Bloatmage(4)/Pathfinder Savant(4). Exchange. If there's no arcane I'll play him.
Faan, CG Tian Half-elf Life Oracle(10), and Ricardo, a transgender Male Lyrakien Azata. Grand Lodge. If there's no healer I'll play them.
Jaswinder Aniljit, N Vudrani Pantheist Urban Ranger(9)/Animal Speaker Bard(1). Exchange. Archery-focused, rides a 10'×5' Flying Carpet, has a Grappling Snake Animal Companion that's not necessary if we have 6 players.
I can post RP stuff after we figure out who we have.
This is the character that is at the top of my list to play, but the others are close. So if anyone objects to Juniper, I really am happy to play someone else.

Juniper is built around defense. She has a very high AC. Some GMs find it to be annoying, so if it is something that will bother you, I am happy to play a different character. She also is able to boost her allies' ACs and CMDs through the Blundering Defense feat, her +1 guarding quickdraw darkwood shield, and the Aid Another action.
Here are the bonuses to AC and CMD and their type that she can bestow to her allies.
Blundering Defense Either +4 luck or +2 luck; all adjacent allies. (If she uses Total Defense, her allies gain a +4 luck bonus, but she cannot also use Aid Another.)
Aid Another +4 untyped to one adjacent ally—she has the Helpful trait.
+1 guarding darkwood quickdraw shield +1 untyped; as a free action at the start of her turn to any ally she can see.
She also has the feat Lucky Halfling which allows her to roll a saving throw (using her bonus) and replace a save that an ally just made (before the results are known). The range on this is 30 feet, and it is usable 1/day.
Introduction
The door opens. In its frame stands a small armored figure, covered head to toe in soot and wielding a chimney broom. As the miniature knight steps forward, it becomes clear that she is a halfling. Her jet-black locks, tightly braided and bound, are only slightly darker in hue than the charcoal soot and ash smudging her cheeks.
She steps forward with a bright and cheerful smile. "Hi! I'm Juniper. Juniper Berrythw—OOMPH!" She trips over her much-too-long cloak, a cloud of soot exploding off her armor as she falls face first onto the floor and her chimney broom skitters across the room.
As she stands, Juniper removes the blindfold that was covering her eyes and attempts to dust herself off, but her small soot-covered hands merely smear the soot across her mithral armor.
"Sorry about that. Here, let me get that for you. Oh, look I've gone and smudged your floor. Don't worry, it's good clean soot, it'll come right out in a jiffy.
"As I was saying, I'm Juniper Berrythwaite, of the Westcrown Berrythwaites. I'm pleased to meet ya." She flashes a big grin and extends her soot-covered hand in greeting.
"I just got back from the Ruins of Bonekeep. It was very scary, but I made sure no one got hurt. Before that, I was sent deep into the Mwangi Expanse in search of a lost Venture Captain. That was quite exciting.
"Enough chatting, where is this chimney that needs sweeping?" she asks as she retrieves her broom and puts her blindfold back on.
Juniper is always cheerful and happy to be along on any adventure. She is always quick to help those in need. Detesting combat, Juniper prefers to try diplomatic channels before resorting to violence. She will talk for hours on end of the magnificence of Apsu and his draconic children to anyone who will listen, and she has found a special rapport with kobolds in her past adventures.
Despite the fact that Juniper is perhaps the clumsiest halfling in the entire Inner Sea, she brings great luck to her adventuring companions.
She often wears a blindfold. If asked about it, she will tell you that she is trying to hone her other senses. It is something she saw some monks doing during one of her previous adventures. It certainly has not made her any less clumsy.
This is Gerald. I have to level Shel to 8, as she just completed an adventure. I'll fill in the details later. She's mostly a skills character, but she is quite a little tyrant. She plans on becoming a Venture Captain, and she's not going to let the rest of you screw that up for her. Not a typical halfling in personality at all.
I have a level 7 spiritualist I would be interested in bringing. I will post some sample RP, stats, PFS info, etc...when I get back to my desktop in a while.

Shel would roll her eyes when asked to recount her achievements with the Society. "I suppose you've not been reading the recent Chronicles, have you? No big shock, most want to go on big adventures, but don't prepare appropriately. Recently, I've been smoothing over relations with some strange fey and their accursed clock. I'm one of the few members of this Society that has one of these as well," she brags as she pulls out a well work copy of A Thread of Silver."If you don't know what this is, I'm not telling you. Suffice it to say, in certain parts of Golarian this would make me a wanted woman."
"Basically, I'm not here to carry you on this mission. I'm in line for a promotion, and before long I'll be a Venture Captain. None of you are going to mess this mission up and give me a black mark. Ill handle the preparations, the rest of you do your job, and we will all go home happy and famous."

Special Rules: I don't know if being one of the new occult classes counts, but she's a spiritualist. Think unchained summoner except not as cheesy ;) Her archetype makes her a divine caster instead of a psychic one, and it lets her cast certain cleric spells when her phantom isn't fully manifested.
Also, as long as her phantom is out (which it almost always is), it has an aura that gives all allies within 20 feet a +2 competence bonus on attack rolls and saving throws.
Now to the fun RP part....
Appearance:
Picture
The young woman wears a loose Varisian shawl of gold and green around her head which criss-crosses behind her and back again, eventually tying into a Tien obi on her waist. Dozens of symbols—five dozen to be exact—adorn the cloth: the silhouette of a woman dancing in front of a moon, a katana in front of a sun, a spiral, a butterfly of many colors and its shadow, a scarred breastplate, and so forth.
Much like her shawl/obi, the young woman herself is a mixture of Tien and Varisian features. Her fair skin and the folds on her eyes favor far Tian-Xia, while her ash brown hair and sharp features favor Varisia. Each of her eyes has a different color: the left is sapphire blue and the right is emerald green.
A young woman rushes over to help Juniper. ”Oh, my goodness! Are you okay?” She begins trying to help the halfling brush herself off.
The young woman sees the others gathered, then suddenly jumps as she remembers something.
”My sincerest apologies! I have forgotten to introduce myself.”
She steps back, then gives a deep bow of practiced formality, holding her staff horizontal at her waist as she does.
”Greetings. I am most honored to meet all of you. My name is Kiku. I am an onmyoji, like my mother before me. I am on a pilgrimage to learn more about ancient Thassilon so that I can protect my people from its Sin magic. I also try to help the lost and wayward spirits of the dead pass on to the Boneyard.”
Kiku bows once more, this time facing Shel specifically.
”I sincerely apologize. I have neglected in my duty to remain up-to-date on the chronicles, Honorable Baronness. I will do my earnest best to not be any trouble for you.”
Kiku gives a kind, polite smile.
Kiku worships all 54 empyreal lords, along with Desna, Pharasma, Qi Zhong, Kofusachi, Shizuru, and Tsukiyo. Mechanically for PFS, she worships Ashava and “venerates” all the others.
In honor of her main inspiration, I flavored many of her spells as Final Fantasy spells. Shield is Protect, Cure Light Wounds is Cure, Cure Moderate Wounds is Cura, and Cure Serious Wounds is Curaga, Haste is...Haste, Dispel Magic is...Dispel, etc....
Yikes! Juniper probably won't care much for Azara!
It's cool with me though. ;)
TWO Halflings? Low tier? Oh, goodness. This will be an exercise in "cooperate" for Azara...
I'll post an introduction for her either tonight or tomorrow morning. I usually voice her and do body posturing and gesturing, and much condescending laughter and smirks, so portraying that via text should be interesting.
(she's probably my jerkiest character, but she's an outlier; it's an insecurity representive of her being physically similar in appearance to Tieflings, which are regarded as 2nd class citizens in Cheliax, and the struggles she's had to endured because of it. Also, my interpretation of having above average INT/CHA but a 7 WIS)
He wears drooping robes over the lamellar armor of a samurai, a katana and wakizashi hanging at his side. A fierce mask and a broad-brimmed jingasa cover his head. All of the wispy, ectoplasmic form of the figure is made of reds flowing into oranges, then yellows, then back again.
”I am Yojimbo. I will require compensation from my summoner before undertaking any task, as per the terms of our contract. Once compensated, I will perform to the utmost of my abilities.”
Yojimbo is Kiku's phantom. She has a “tab” with him, so anything she asks for will just get added to it. It's completely an RP thing, nothing to do with his mechanics :D
Low wisdom characters are the most fun to play imo. My favorite character to play is my Cleric of Iomedae Sorceress that thinks she's a cleric, who is rocking a 5 now (thank you Threefold Aspect!).
Personally, I try to play character concepts that would have a good diplomacy score b/c I discovered long ago that A. I like talking to NPCs while also B. Not screwing over the party's attempts to diplomacize.

A stunning blonde woman stands before you. Her eyes are sparking blue.
A pale golden light seems to grow from her near white hair. Her skin appears unblemished.
She is dressed in a chain shirt, has a shield with the sign of the Everlight slung across her back and a mace tucked in her belt. Her knee high deerskin leather boots are fashionable but well worn with travel. She speaks in a soft yet firm voice.
Her voice sounds like Jewel Staite
"I am Davina of Absalom. I have recently returned from the Worldwound where I aided my comrades against the demonic forces plague that area. Harsk is a ranger from the wilds of Varsia. A dwarf dressed in a green cloak with a large dirty back pack on his back. A greataxe and a tea pot are clearly visible sticking out from the pack. A large badger springs out from behind him and growls out in alarm.
Quickly the dwarf grabs him on the scruff of the neck.
I imagine his voice sounds like Nick Nolte
"Hey furr ball quiet down. It's ok. He's trained. He won't bite unless I tell ya. I heard something about half orcs on Flintyreach.
I've met some good ones and some bad ones. Never been there myself. I'm not crazy about boats. But if we have to take one. Its fine with me.
Just rather have my feet on firm ground."
He points to his crossbow.
"I can still use this at creatures in the water that I can see. If we have to fight orcs. I know a thing or two about their weak points. Nice to meet everyone. I'm going to make some tea. Anyone want a cup? oh last adventure...Hmmm...I was up in the Worldwound tracking that bastard Thurl. Gives us dwarves in the Society a bad name. Luckily it all worked out and we got him. • She's a highly mobile combatant that uses Spring Attack liberally (sometimes even attacking from an ally's square).
• If she's attacked (and it's not her turn), she'll use the Dodging Panache deed.
• If she's attacked (and it is her turn), she'll use the Opportune Parry and Riposte deed.
• She has the Fortuitous enchantment on her main weapon, which is made of Viridium. As a Native Outsider, she's immune to its effects. I don't make enemies roll vs. Leprosy, but if I crit they must save vs. Greenblood Oil. The normal rules for poison apply, so if they're already poisoned then additional crits up the save DC by 2 and the duration by 50%.
• She has all 3 gems from the 3 Bonekeeps, so she has "Resist Negative Energy 10", "+5 Resistance vs. [Death]", and "Whenever I fail a save vs. [Compulsion] I can attempt a new save at the end of my turn".
• She uses a Swordmaster's Flair (blue scarf) to increase her reach.
• She's always using Power Attack and is +1 to-hit on Attacks of Opportunity.
A few sentences about your character and her previous adventures, both in and out of character:
The temperature seems to warm a couple degrees as a robust female Ifrit enters the room. Decked in a polished Mithral Agile Breastplate, she wears both a Mithral Spiked Gauntlet and a Mithral Buckler on her left hand, leaving her right hand unhindered to wield the Scimitar made of a strange green glass that she keeps sheathed at her side. She wears a Wayfinder at her hip with what appears to be an Opalescent White Pyramid Ioun Stone inside, clearly identifying herself as a Pathfinder. The most striking accessory that she openly flaunts, however, hangs around her neck: a solid gold Unholy Symbol of Asmodeus.
"Greetings from the splendid city of Egorian" (she says in a sultry voice, her hand gesturing with a flourish as though she was holding a wine glass). "My name is Baroness Azara Emberkin, but you may call me..." (she pauses as she spies the Halflings in the room)... "'Baroness'. My apologies" (she doesn't seem sincere) "for attending this meeting dressed for battle. I've recently arrived from Fort Inevitable, bastion of law in the lawless land of the River Kingdoms. I've been assisting the Hellknights there in their... missionary work..." (her hand pats the scimitar at her side)... "and have led no less than three delves into the strange Emerald Spire. Fascinating place, really. Much more mystery than the Halls Under the Hill, I must say. And no accursed Ratfolk" (did she seriously just glance at the Halflings again?) "like those that swarm under the siege castles outside Absalom. Really, I do hope this mission involves a good party. Things just haven't been the same since Zarta's recent defection."
Began her career as part of the Cheliax Faction, but switched to Sovereign Court. She's done 1 floor in Thornkeep, 3 floors in Emerald Spire, and all 3 Bonekeeps, despite her specializing in social skills.
The Fox is correct. I'm at a con this weekend. By the way, SkålCon made its fundraising goal. Our charity gets 2000 dollars and Jon Dehning will get shaved.
By my count, only six players have submitted, and it's practically Tuesday. Since we've gotten no new submissions since Friday, I'm going use my discretion to close this early and take all six of you.

Qstor, both your characters look fine (though the thought of someone loving Harsk enough to have built him into a real PC is so awesome that it earns bonus points. Besides, he seems to have more real personality.)
Although I'm leaning Harsk, does the party have a preference for which one Qstor brings to the mission?
Hmm
PS By tomorrow I will try to get the campaign, discussion and gameplay threads linked, and get this campaign listed with the other PFS PbP gameday IV games. I still have prep work left to do for this scenario, but it looks like we're solidly low-tier no matter which of Qstor's characters get picked. If any of you haven't read Painlord's guide to advanced play-by-post play, now is a great time for a refresher.
I leave you all to your discussion! Good night, and I'll see you Tuesday!
I have no preference either way. I am quite fond of Harsk and would love to see one built as a PC, but a life oracle might mean that Kiku can do things other than healbot. Either way, I'll be happy.
As much as I love Harsk, my preference would be for the Oracle. It would be a relief to finally be in a party of diplomats.
But, those are only my thoughts. Qstor has every right to play the character he wants to play. Even if we each get one vote in this matter, Qstor should get 7.
I am quite fond of Harsk and would love to see one built as a PC, but a life oracle might mean that Kiku can do things other than healbot. Either way, I'll be happy.
I never pressure any healing-capable character to healbot unless that is their thing.
At SkålCon, I gmed for a delightful life oracle named Boris. He introduced himself to the table in a thick Russian accent:
"I am Boris from Ustalov. In Ustalov, we understand two things: blood and pain. I love them both. Give them to me."
When people got hurt, Boris would scream, "Yes! It hurts so GOOD! Yes!"
When our Mystic Theurge got hit for only 4 hp of damage, Boris looked at him and said, "You call that blood? You call that pain? Bah! Boris have no use for you!"
My preference would be for Harsk, but mostly so I can see the little badger rage out of its little mind. Skald work better the more bodies are in melee. But, Davina would help me stay standing if I stepped up to a melee role, so either way works out.

Clearly, for Boris, healbot was his thing. :)
Hmm
Oh, I would rather do it if it's needed than not do it. It's one of the things I like about spiritualist over summoner tbh. It also helps make turns go fast (which I try to do in F2F to make up for essentially having 2 characters).
That is a pretty cool concept for a life oracle, though :D Sounds like a lot of fun to play with.
"I am unlikely to use your inspired rage. Apsu teaches peace and serenity. Rage is for the metallic dragons."Also, I like to be able to cast spells if I need to.
According to my calculations we have in the party a melee skirmisher (Azara), a melee tank (Juniper), a melee smasher/support (Grigorii), a skills monkey/secondary melee (Shel), divine support and melee striker (Kiku and Yojimbo). Plus whichever character Qstor brings. Juniper can also bring out some ranged striking if need be, but that's not her main shtick.
"I'm happy to adventure with anyone. Now let's talk tactics. I can't keep you from getting hit if you run way out in front..."
Yojimbo crosses his arms, his orange eyes glowing at Juniper.
"I remain in front. Within 50 ft of Kiku."
He speaks with a degree of conviction that suggests he does not even consider the possibility of disagreement.
With mage armor and shield, he has 29 AC and DR 5/magic and slashing, so he can help tank. His damage is actually only just okay.
Juniper is okay being in either the first or second rank. Her AC will get well into the 40s at times, but she also doesn't deal damage (unless she switches to spell-casting, but that requires she take off her blindfold). She can boost your AC if she is adjacent to you, but that can be from the second rank. And she is happy to soak up attacks of opportunity if need be.
"I understand. Don't worry," Juniper turns to walk toward the front, "you are all now quite safe under my protecti—OOMPH-GAH!" she trips again on her much-too-long cloak and falls on her face. "I don't know why that keeps happening."
If there is only one other character up front, Juniper can boost his/her AC by up to +7. Alternatively she can boost the AC of everyone adjacent to her by +4. So I'm happy to have help tanking.
Okay, I've opened up gameplay so that you all can either roleplay your introductions, or at the very least dot-and-delete.
Dot-and-delete: If you can't think of anything to say right away, post as your character in gameplay, then delete your post until you can have a chance to compose something. This will put this game in your campaigns tab where you can easily spot updates.
I've also opened up discussion so that all of you can geek out over battle tactics. I still have lots to do prepwise, but I figure that I can at least provide you with a corner booth at the Whale Belly and some excellent beverages while I do so.
Hmm
PS Qstor, it sounds like the consensus is leaning towards your life oracle, but you have final choice here. Which would you like to play more?
"I'm happy to adventure with anyone. Now let's talk tactics. I can't keep you from getting hit if you run way out in front..."
"Well then, my little darling, it looks like you're going to have to keep up.
For starters, let's discuss proper fashion..."
*Azara tap-tap-taps the section of Juniper's oversized cloak that drags on the ground*
Azara doesn't usually stand still, so a lot of the buffs you hand out normally wouldn't help her, but given that dynamic action in a PbP sounds like it'd slow things down I'm totally fine playing her as a regular full attacking Fighter if need be.
Her AC is 28 normally (+8 Armor, +5 Dex, +2 Shield, +3 Dodge). If you boost it by +7 then that's higher than anything she could parry. Even if you give her +4 that's still almost as good.
Just realized I don't have my sheet with me, and I have to be on campus until 10pm tonight, but I'll post more when I get home.
Clearly, for Boris, healbot was his thing. :)
Hmm
Lol i remember that. The room went a little quiet the first time that happened. Also still have room?
