Basalte, reporting for duty!
PFS #76446-9
Scarab Sages faction
Thanks for having me, Derek!

![]() |

Tyraneus here to assist
95737-1
Silver Crusade

![]() |

Ok, Derek, Walter is now 4th. He gained an experience from "Trial by Machine" last Friday. His trapping come in real handy! And they all laugh at me because all my characters (4 PFS) have trapping...hahaha!
Purchases: cloak of resistance +2, spring loaded wrist sheath x2, alchemist's fire x5, tanglefoot bag x2

![]() |

Dimitra is also ready for duty and is also lvl4!
Welcome Basalte and Tyraneus, when will they start to send us some attractive men to work with?

![]() |

Thanks for the warm welcome! Basalte may not be a looker, but I hope you'll appreciate his reliability.

![]() |

Hi Walter,
It is certainly allowed, although I do not really see the added benefit of Brawler2 over Brawler1 (although an extra feat is never really bad). At later levels Brawler's Flurry only gives one extra attack, while Improved TWF gives two. That is compensated a bit by allowing for full STR bonus on your off-hand.
I must say I have not really looked into brawler or slayer yet. My focus is more on the swashbuckler and I am also looking into the arcanist because of Yasmin.

![]() |

Basalte and Tyraneus,
Dimitra carries a wand of enlarge person. Because there are also some negative effects (AC) of using that we have the agreement that she will not use that on someone if not asked for in combat. She does not do that much in combat (besides singing) so can easily spare the action to give the warriors bigger swords.

![]() |

It's very kind of you to offer, but since Basalte isn't a humanoid (oreads are outsiders), he can't be enlarged/reduced by normal means. I'd love to if it was possible, though!

My home group is going to start RotRL soon.
I was considering the White-haired Witch 2/ Magus x route, but I think that the Brawler 2/ Slayer x will suite my Jaraxle playing style better.
I think that Arcanist will be the new Wizard class once I fully study it.
I really want to like the Swashbuckler, but there just seems to be something missing.
A good Fort save?

GM Derek W |

Still waiting for Gunther and Johann to check in. I'll try to post the briefing tonight, at least.

GM Derek W |

I have been dealing with computer issues and have fallen behind. I just finished reporting a game, so I'm hoping to get things moving at a good pace again.

![]() |

Life does happen, doesn't it? No worries, Derek, we are here.
My new home group will be starting RotRL next Saturday.
I am trying to decide on my character.
I have it down to 4 choices...lol!
1. White-haired Witch 2/ Hexcrafter Magus x
2. Slayer 2/ Brawler x with UMD
3. Slayer 2/ Magus x
4. or straight Slayer with UMD

![]() |

No worries Derek, take it easy. GMing (and playing) should remain a pleasure and not a constraint.
As for your character Walter, would you like some advice? If so, could you tell us what the rest of the group will be made of and what you want to achieve with your character?

It is a 6 person group.
We will have:
1. Elven Ranger Archer
2. Spellslinger
3. Synthesis Summoner ( grapple build)
4. Life Oracle
5. Witch ? (she hasn't decided yet)
6. me
So, I am the other melee character.
I am--kind of--going for a Jaraxle build, but with my own spin.
In any case, I am going 1/2 elf (drow-blooded).

![]() |

Just to let you know that I'll be away on weekend with Mrs Lithrac, I'll return Sunday evening.

![]() |

So, my home group just started RotRL last Friday.
We have:
1/2 elf Syn Summoner (melee)
elf ranger (archer)
1/2 Orc Scarred Witch doctor (caster)
Aasimar Life Oracle (healer)
Aasimar Oracle (melee)
and my character is 1/2 elf drow-blooded Rogue (melee/skill monkey)
This is my advancement plan: Rogue 4/ Alchemist [Vivisectionist] x
Str 18 (10,+2) Dex 15 (7) Con 12 (2) Int 14 (5) Wis 10 Cha 7 (-4)
Traits: bruising intellect, surprise weapon
Rogue1 1. Catch off guard
Rogue2 2. TWF (combat talent)
Alchemist1 3. Extra Rogue Talent (offense/defense)
Rogue3 4. --
Rogue4 5. Bludgeoner, Enforcer (Ninja trick)
Alch2 6. preserve organs (discovery)
Alch3 7. Sap adept
At 7th: +10/+10 umbrella/ books (1d6+4+4d6+8)x2 plus shaken and grants +8 dodge bonus to my AC.
I thought it funny--and cool--to use an umbrella and maybe a satchel with his books as his improvised weapons.
I wanted a fun, but deadly melee build. Any suggestions?

I hope you get well soon!

Adding my well-wishes to the list. I hope you're well again soon!

I was hoping to get Wuliem to 12th by then, so he could play in "Eye of the Ten", but not going to make it.
Still excited. I made an Arcanist 4 (mostly GM credits) that I tested out last night.
Nice class!

GM Derek W |

Ok, final encounter coming up! Time for Day Job rolls, and I'll start on your chronicles.
Your patience has been rewarded!

So, Johann has a portable alchemist's lab and a obsession log. The former gives a +1 circumstance bonus to Craft(alchemy) and the latter gives a +2 circumstance bonus. I think these should stack, since it says in the CRB that 'most' circumstance bonuses stack.
If so, then with the class bonus and crafter's fortune, Johann should have a +26 to Craft(alchemy).
day job roll: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (6) + 26 = 32
That'll be 75gp.

no day job

![]() |

No day job here either.

![]() |

Sorry, I just got back from U-Con this weekend in Michigan.
It was AWESOME!
Played Bone Keep part 1 Friday....and a few season 4 and 6 sessions, including #6-00 Legacy of the Stone Lords.
No day job....

![]() |

Bonekeep 1 is a tough one, but I do like challenges like that. How many rooms did you clear within the limited time frame?
As for Legacy of the Stonelords, I had a blast playing it online last night! Still waiting for the results, though.

We completed the entire mode of Bone Keep last night (Friday).
I liked it. It was challenging and--I agree--more fun.
Our table for Legacy of the Stonelords came in 1st for the most completed goals and how quickly we were pumping them out.
We played tier 7-8.
The Boons were really sweet.
I got one that allows me to re-play a session that I've played already.
As a GM, I qualify as soon as my other GM reports last Thursday's game,
so I can get my star!
I was really hoping to get the Boon that allows you to totally re-make a character. I want to change Agrippa back to a Paladin--or War Priest.

![]() |

Great to hear that Legacy of the Stonelords was so good, I will play that with my lvl 7 wizard (fireball blaster) in two weeks.
Walter: Congrats on your first star!

We lead the way with finishing both objectives in the first 3 areas,
but we spent a lot of time burying the haunt in the Mines.
We still finished first.
It was a really good group. We really wanted to actually fight the main boss,
but we were one tier too low!

![]() |

but I rolled 5, 3, and a 6 wasting 3 3rd level slots!
Luckily, that was the last one almost.
Finally, the Summoner told his eidelon to just go get it,
triggering the trap, but avoiding any damage!
