So a guardian stands between us and Zamir? It is not surprising why you did not wish to lead. Tarek looks to the group I don't trust that this Monk will not come running to his Master's aid if he is called upon. His duty would require him to do so. Let'make sure he is well secured with ropes and away from anyone that can help.

Once the monk is secure and not a threat to the group, Tarek will address the next obstacle before them

I wonder if this guardian is some sort of construct or living creature? The fact the monk says it won't surprise us leads me to believe it is some type of brute, using strength over stealth and skill. I guess there is only one way to find out. Perhaps Isador can use his keen senses to see if anything is unusual ahead.

The monk offers no resistance as the Archons secure him using spare bindings used to chain the wizards to their workplaces. Isador contemplates his next move...

As the party ties up the monk and wizards, Isador looks the tables over trying to determine if they were working on anything that might give a tactical advantage.

He looks at Tarek and nods briefly before slipping down the corridor to look for the "guardian".

Action:

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Isador sneaks down the hall...

This large hall is relatively clean and empty. A few racks on the walls contain wooden training weapons, and targets and straw dummies stand here and there. A strange wooden statue stands in front of a large alcove in the south wall. It has three tiger faces on its head, each facing a di erent direction, and six arms. The statue’s hands hold a variety of weapons; quartersta , sai, nunchaku, siangham, and kama. In the back of the alcove is a large wooden door.

That is all Isador sees in the room.

Well, if it's got to be brute strength over trickery, I suppose I'm game. The warrior says as he hefts his axe.

Being careful not to get too close, Isador takes a moment to examine the floor for signs of a trigger or pressure plate that might activate the guardian.

After he is satisfied with his observations, he returns to the party and describes his findings.

well ten gold its a trap and that statue with three tiger heads is the guardian thing....just a guess.....why dont we check the bodies and the monk and see if there is any device, ring or symbol that might allow us to pass, in cast that things is a construct from the abyss and means to do us all in .

It looks as if there are several doors at either end of the hallway. Maybe we should search those rooms for any information about this monastery or something that may be useful to the society.
Tarek waits for anyone to join him and then makes his way along the northern hallway and examines the rooms.

Isador peeks his head into the room and checks for any trap mechanisms...

Perc: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

He does not find any apparent or hidden mechanisms that would trigger a trap.

Tarek searches the bodies of the fallen bandits and the room they are in and finds no keys or other devices.

If you guys decide to head into the room, go ahead and take a round's movement on the map to show me how you guys do it.

He takes a path along the outer wall as he moves into position to cover his companions.

Just say the word if you want me to put an arrow or two into it but, based on what I see, that might not do anything.

The Archons bravely march into the room. Cautiously, they move forward and the room remains silent and bare but for the stone statue between them and the door....

The Archons continue to try an skirt about the room, cautious of any traps or dangers. As the party continues to creep about the room, Tarek draws upon his innate divine connection and suddenly begins to grow in stature and size! Tarek grows to the size of a small giant, ready to face the next challenge. Tarek is now Large, gaining +2 STR, -2 DEX and -1 to AC and attack rolls.

Go ahead take another move all.

Enlarge Person:

School transmutation; Level sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S, M (powdered iron)
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one humanoid creature
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Fortitude negates; Spell Resistance yes
This spell causes instant growth of a humanoid creature, doubling its height and multiplying its weight by 8. This increase changes the creature's size category to the next larger one. The target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a –2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a –1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size.

A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target's speed.

If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it—the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.

All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee weapons affected by this spell deal more damage (see Table: Tiny and Large Weapon Damage). Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature's possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown and projectile weapons deal their normal damage. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.

Multiple magical effects that increase size do not stack.

Enlarge person counters and dispels reduce person.

Enlarge person can be made permanent with a permanency spell.

The Archons continue to slowly creep into the room towards the door. Havelock, being extra cautious, moves toward the door. He takes a step forward and the menacing statue comes to life! It lumbers off its perch and turns itself to face Havelock...

I figured you guys would make for the door eventually so I am speeding things up to move the scenario along. The statute comes to life the moment 'lock steps as indicated on the map.
