Havelockk |
Yeah...I see a set up coming.
Deciding to error on the side of caution, I pull out my wand of Shield and activate it, giving my self a extra bit of protection.
GM Brew |
Eloriand ignites his wayfinder into a glowing ray. He flashes it around the area providing some illumination. Caoilte stands guard as Tarek enters the house. His darkvision detects no signs of life as he takes a step into the drafty darkened house. Havelock expends a charge and his is encased in a shimmering translucent protective field.
Go ahead and move your tokens to represent where you are and describe what, if any, actions you take.
Eloriand Miller |
Eloriand moves further in to the building....
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 +2 more if Humans are involved
Isador Kane |
Isador moves inside the house and makes his way towards Eloriand.
He leans towards the ranger and whispers.
I am not sure if we really need stealth at this point. We were invited here, even though the note was forgery, it is still an invitation.
Havelockk |
As my comrades go in the building I nod to Caoilte as we stand vigilant, waiting to see if anything comes of our entrance into the building from anyone that might be observing us from the outside. Cautious and not wishing to make my self a training aid for a crossbowman or a archer, I move my self to make sure I am not silhouetted by any external light from the moon and stars, or from any internal light in the house.
I take a knee, lowering my profile, while slowly, silently, drawing the long rhomboidal shaped blade from the leather lined lynwood scabbard.
Kat C'ys |
Kat continues her stealthy search.

If her rolls let her search the entirety of the bottom floor and start up the second, that is what she will do. Otherwise she will let El and Izzy search the remaining rooms on the first floor and start scouting the second.
Eloriand Miller |
Eloriand moves down the couple of stairs leading in to the next room and listens at the door near the far wall ....
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 +2 more if Humans are involved
Isador Kane |
Isador sneaks along behind Eloriand and takes up a position near the opposite doorway. He checks the bottom of the door for any signs of movement before leaning forward to place his ear against its surface.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
GM Brew |
As Caoilte and Havelock guard the street, the rest of the agents explore the house further. Attempting to stay in the shadows, Isador finds what a appears to be a kitchen. The moonlight shining through the open curtains unveils some shelves and tables holding plates and cookware. The settled dust throughout the room hints that it has not seen use in some time. Eloriand, meanwhile, uncovers a back storage area that holds some old crates but little else. Tarek and Kat cautiously head up the stairs and find themselves at the end of two longer hallways. Tarek sees a serious of three doors to the north and one door to the south. Kat sees three doors to the south and one to the north. The wind still tumbles the curtains at the windows and Tarek's steps cause the wooden floors to squeak ever so lightly but the sound carries thought the silent house.
Tarek Delrin |
Tarek listens at the door for any sounds inside. He will open the door once he feels confident it is safe to enter.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Thinking to himself I bet this all turns out to be a bogus lead just to keep us occupied while someone is off doing some nefarious deed....boy do I hope I am wrong
Havelockk |
Wondering what is going on in the house, I maintain my stationary security watch....eyes, ears, and even my nose, straining to discern anything different or unique. Having felt the wrath of dragons and wyverns on battlefields only a few summers prior, my eyes also dart above.
Havelockk |
Looking back at Caoilte, Yeah, I got a bad feeling about this. Good thing they have trained professionals like us to fall back on. With a grin I go about my sentry business, looking, watching, and prepared to respond by all means required.
Eloriand Miller |
Eloriand will continue in to the storage area and investigate the other door.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 +2 more if Humans are involved
GM Brew |
The Archons continue to explore the house, the only sound is the occasional creek of the wood floor as the party moves about the house.
Suddenly, Tarek feels a sharp stab into his back. Luckily, his armor absorbs the blow which would have likely otherwise severed his spinal chord. A silky smooth, but angry voice quietly hisses from behind him. You should have left when you had the chance, Pathfinder! Now, I think I will play with you for a while.
Tarek, roll for initiative!
ATTK: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
INT: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Tarek Delrin |
If you wanted to get me alone, all you had to do was ask Tarek smiles, spins around and draws his weapon instinctively, striking at the person behind him
Attacks with Falcata: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Falcata Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Havelockk |
A pretty night, perhaps this is all a hoax and another frustrating day spent trying to absolve our Pathfinder brethren. Jorstal, "Mr. Captain Adventure, I like to leave my Pathfinder brethren out to hang high and dry cause I am a political wuss with no gonads, no sense of leadership culture or grand strategy, " what a tool. Homocratic Bureacraticus to the maximus, no wonder he drives a desk.
Well, at least is a nice quiet night, and with that I continue my scanning, keeping my thoughts to myself.
GM Brew |
The party hears Tarek yell from his location on the upper floor of the house. The sound is muffled and not entirely clear, but is certainly a sign of distress.
The attacker takes the withdraw action to avoid the AOO.
Roll initiative! and post your actions.
Tarek Delrin |
Isador Kane |
Upon hearing the distressed cry, Isador quickly draws his bow and springs up the stairs that Tarek ascended a few moments ago.
He is prepared to defend Tarek if needed.

Eloriand will make his way to the front of the building near the stairs in an effort to investigate the distress call.

Havelockk |
Looks like it just got interesting!

Brew as at the Hawks game that ended at 0119 CST after 3 overtime periods....but don't feel sorry for him, cause it was 0219 EST for me watching them win
GM Brew |
The Archons spring to action at the sign of their distressed fellow agent!
Eloriand runs to the main entry hallway to investigate the source of the trouble. He finds the hallway clear.
Kat begins to check the south rooms for more foes. She opens the first door and finds the room empty save for a bed and night stand.
Isador draws his bow and runs up the stairs to back up their aasimar friend. He ascends the stairs as Tarek is finishing drawing on his innate divine power to strengthen himself for battle. Havelock draws his weapon and infuses it with arcane power. He stands ready for action.

Focussed, determined I can only hope my arcane casting and shouting can rally my friends to the source of our probable troubles.
Eloriand Miller |
Seeing Tarek is ok, Eloriand will ask him what the trouble is?
Tarek Delrin |
Tarek responds to Eloriand Our Chelaxian friend is lurking about the house. He got a jump on me but my armor deflected his attack. I am sure he targeted me because I was alone and he mentioned about wanting to have fun with us. Be prepared for any surprises. I would also suggest we keep a little distance between us in case he shows up again. I don't know if he is a caster but we don't want to find ourselves bound by some spell. Where is Kat and Havelockk ?
GM Brew |
The party continues to seek out their foe!
Tarek opens the door, chakram ready. He finds the room apparently empty, a gentle night breeze billows the curtains to an open northern window. He is flanked by Caoilte and Eloriand. A moment later, Kat emerges from the southern room and rejoins the group.
The knife wielder used the withdraw action to avoid an AOO. Also note that I think you are calculating your concentration check wrong. Per the sheet, 'lock's concentration check is +6, +4 attribute, +1 caster level and +1 trait (? I think). Just FYI.
'lock then Caoilte then back to top.
