I'm just buying upkeep for 10G. all the stuff I need costs more than I have. I'm a little confused as to how people can buy so much with what we've earned so far?
I'm changing my first level spells to Mage Armor + Sleep.
| DM Kludde |
Quarr has a third chronicle from before the confirmation, so he should have about 1500 gp.
As ever, 2pp allows you to 'get' an item up to 750 gp worth (e.g. a 'Wand of [first level spell]')

Confirmation was my first then I had infernal Vault and Slave Pits as GM Credit followed by Stolen Heir.
Not this scenario but the next one I will jump up to Level 5 with GM Credit. I have another PC ready to go though so as not to mess anything up.

ya spellcasters don't buy much at low level, don't forget though that you can buy 0-1st level spell scrolls. Lets you bring some more blasty spells if you want to combat, or other spells that you don't want to prepare but may have situational usage for.

Hey sorry about lack of posting. I'm on site out in the middle of nowhere. Was hoping I would have better internet then I do. I am back home on Friday evening, and will be back to regular posting rate at that point.

This march is actually a lot more interesting because we're low level. Usually by level 2-3 a party will pick up enough oddball tricks to help, eg Anara could have inspired competence to get me up a leg, inspire me again, then I could drop a rope, she could climb up, I could climb further.
Lunaea's spellbook might have been broader or I might have had potions that would have helped in even one more adventure (eg, reduce person would let Anara climb with her dex instead of strength, plus boosting it to 20, and she could scamper up a DC15 surface with take 10 before it wore out, or enlarge person would increase my strength to +5, or there might be a levitate scroll, fly potion, rope trick, any number of things)
But with 3 of us at level 1, and our only level 2 limited to self-buffs by the nature of his class we're having to stretch to find a solution. I've never actually needed to try to work out a belay before - I had a monk that used to do tricks with rope and pitons to get entire parties past rough patches that he could clamber around on, but it's harder when you're just a dude who is strong with generic adventurer equipment.
Oh...crap. I'm being an idiot. Lunaea and guidance can do the same thing as Anara and inspire competence. Better edit my post.

I like the way it worked out - I like that it was hard but we were just able to do it with our combined resources. And even that it probably would have been harder had we not been a few mods in with a few extra purchases on our belts (like multiple wands of CLW and climbing gear...)

On precise bombs:
Precise bombs: Whenever the alchemist throws a bomb, he can select a number of squares equal to his Intelligence modifier that are not affected by the splash damage from his bombs. If the bomb misses, this discovery has no effect.
I've always read that as: this discovery only works if you hit. If you miss, all squares are still affected by splash damage. To me, it makes sense: it's hard to be precise if you miss your target...

yea that sounds reasonable :D

I'm at a con this weekend. I'll be able to post Mon night but may not have much connectivity the rest of the weekend.
Lunaea or DM Kludde can move Brodey. He'll mostly be tied up (literally) keeping Kalkamedes out of trouble, so he won't be initiating things like opening doors or scouting anyway, and his combat actions will be either "hit something in reach" or "toss a chakram at stuff out of reach". I can't do any of that fancy friendly swap stuff.
Even the combat reflexes is minimized unless something comes at us from behind, because Kalkamedes is in front of me, so something charging my way would usually stop in his square.

1. Character name- Brodey FS# 43188-4 XP=2, Fame=4, Prestige=0
2. Faction: Grand Lodge
3. email: brad@.com
4. dayjob roll Prof Bodyguard take 10 for: 15
5. boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Brodey will buy:
360 Masterwork Transformation spell on his Greatsword (material component 300, 60 for a second level spell. Each character's allowed do have one of this spell as a permanent thing)
Sell his sap for 1/2=0.5gp
1 another 50' of rope (I figure we can recover the rope at the chasm)
2 replace sunrod
1.5 15 iron spikes (10 more than I had before)
50 Potion of Touch of the Sea
25 Scroll of Enlarge Person (for Lunaea to feed to her bird)
10 Good lifestyle, adventure #4
if cash permits, another scroll of enlarge person for use.
2pp Wand of Longstrider
He'll be taking a level of monk (Sohei), and putting a rank into each of Swim and climb, plus two into Tumble. Allowing him take 10 of 15 for most physical challenges while in armor. (and be able to make a dc10 while heavily loaded). He might have been a touch traumatized :)
He'll also get unarmed strike (nice with a polearm), flurry+a small AC bump if caught without armor and the ability to always act in the surprise round, which is a key element of his Bodyguarding theme.

I am good for one-more scenario on this character before I have to swap characters. After this next one Quarr will bump up to lvl 5.

Character Anara Resario PFS #96302-3
Faction: Andorean
email:bryce.brayman@gmail.com
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Anara levels up at this point, yay! Will do that over the weekend.
| DM Kludde |
@Quarr: Is that because you have a bunch of third level pregen/dm credit chronicles hanging lying around? I have no problem with you switching characters between episodes, it just may look weird in terms of continuity. Do you have a character for the second episode, then?
@Everyone: That as long as you want. I'll put up the game thread at some point, and once everybody is ready we'll start.

Yes I have the first three Rise of The Runelords Chapters as GM Credits on him which is 1 level each. The first one is for lvl 3 and next is for lvl 4 which throws him straight to 5.
I have one more character but he is currently in a long Mists of Mwangi scenario. Brodey would have loved him too. Drunken Master Monk who stumbles around enemies provoking AoO. Well let me come up with a new character this weekend otherwise I have a lvl 2 Cleric of Sarenrae that I have no clue where I am going with him to fill in.
| DM Kludde |
And we've got a bunch of fresh chronicles:
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
Quarr - much as i enjoy Quarr :) it does seem like a Cleric could be useful and would be the same level as all of us.
For my part - Brodey and Lunaea are both taking the teamwork feat Lookout. This is replacing her previous Persuasive feat. She is also revamping her hexes a bit to replace Fortune with Slumber and add Cackle.
I have reorganized her profile to show these things plus hexes, spells, scrolls, and wands that are active.
Her purchases for now are:
10 upkeep
Scrolls:
- Enlarge Person 25
- Dancing Lantern (2) 50
- Comprehend Languages 25
- Identify 25
- Detect Secret Doors 25
- Darkness (Patron spell) 25
- Remove Sickness 25
Wand of Ill Omen 2PP
Many of the scrolls get fed to Nightsong, the ones that are left are shown on her profile.
Once Brodey checks this over I'll be ready to go.

Ok Cleric of Sarenrae it is. His name is Tyraneus I will link him once we get next table going. I am changing around a couple spells and I will purchase some gear at the beginning of next scenario on cleric.
| DM Kludde |
Off to the pirate town of Bloodcove it is then!
I've put up the campaign here, just dot in whenever you're ready upgrading.
Brodey
|
Ok, as I had a little more cash than I thought, I'm going to upgrade my scroll to a potion of enlarge, and also get a Potion of Ant Haul. Now if we enlarge Brodey and he drinks the potion he can carry a truly silly amount of weight. My profile should be correct at this point.
That leaves 10gp left over for walking around money in Bloodcove.
