Hello gentlemen

DM Kludde |

Still waiting for the fourth player...

DM Kludde |

Nice. Thanks all for joining.
Hustonj, could you update your character's profile to info (gender/race/class) to show information in the same format as Zalanda (it really helps me along).
Merck, Greycloak: could you post with the character you want to play with?
We might have a fifth player joining (Gilthanis), but let's get set up with these characters first.

To the DM, I am new to PbP on the Paizo forums but not new to PbP in general so I'm not sure about the protocol.
My currently free characters are:
Miltwyne Heatherstop, Male Halfling Sorcerer (Fey) 3
Coranthan Moonwyr, Male Elf Fighter (Tactician) 1/Wizard (Transmuter) 3
Duran Thomhrommer, Male Dwarf Ranger 2

DM Kludde |

Oh, uh, protocol. You wear the flower upright, lead the lady, and whatever you do, don't feed the demogorgon.
But, seriously, things are only mildly different from Mythweavers. You set avatar pictures by going to your account -> edit aliases -> select avatar. Posting format is typically Bold for speech, italic for thougt, the ooc-tag for ooc.
Dice rolling is done with the 'dice' tag:
dice=Description 1d20 /dice <--put brackets around the tags []
will give you
Description: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Ninja'd over a culpa - i see you got the alias thing already. Anything else I can help with?

DM Kludde |

Ok, great - now I've got eighties songs stuck in my head
Yep, I got that. Would you mind copying that stat block to your paizo profile?
I like how you matched up that larger avatar with the picture here.
I typically posts map on a permanent link in my header (right now, you can get an impression by looking at the bloodcove or glass river rescue map).
I try to have at least a round-a-day during combat (which would mean posting daily). I tend to move a bit faster than that if the players keep up - had a table with energetic players that finished in under three weeks (and they were amazing role-players too).
For combat I usually keep a 36 hr timeout after which I let one of the present players take over the absentee (with some reasonable actions) until he checks back in.
Did I get the correct impression that mythweavers tends to be a bit slower-moving?
Her name is Rio and she dances on the saaaand

Did I get the correct impression that mythweavers tends to be a bit slower-moving?
Hard to say (I'll know more after this game).
My cutoff for lagging posters is about the same - 36 hours or less. I use block initiative (i.e. NPCs go, then PCs in any order with a little fudging on my part) with fully resolved surprise rounds, and I'm pretty typical for the GMs there. We don't enforce posting minimums on the weekends because for the most part as most of we GMs are old farts with jobs and kids and all that.
I do let the PCs make the decisions and don't hurry things along if there is good RP going on. Typically, that means my games run about 3 months. (My defenders of Nesting Swallow game ran close to 4, as did my 4-01 game because there was lots of chatter, others have been closer to 2 months like my Frozen Fingers and my Shadow's Last Stand I games).
We have a lot of international players so when you have players in Europe, Australia and the Americas in the same game, it can slow things down.

I wish I could think of a good lie to role play but have no time right now in to many games.

I say we stop and search room 11 it was hidden behind a secret door from room 10.

@DM K...how does a player sell their old gear and what is the sell price 50% of cost?

![]() |

Double agreed and posted to that effect.
To Zalanda, since you're first level, you get 100% value for any gear you sell. It just has to be noted on your chronicles and/or tracking sheet.
After your first scenario at second level, you get half price for stuff you sell per the Guide.

Thanks Duran I could not find it in the guide.

FYI - Shotgun message I am posting to all of my games (and the recruitment threads I have been participating in):
I will be attending a Mormon-friendly scheduled Wood Badge course (first weekend) this week. The Mormon friendly part is that the course runs from Thursday (0730) through Saturday (2000ish) instead of the more normal Friday through Sunday.
I expect I will be checking the boards and posting Wednesday evening, but probably not as extensively and repeatedly as I do most weeknights.
Then, my wife and I are supposed to get up Sunday and go shopping for some better work clothes for me. It will probably be Sunday evening before I post again.
Just trying to make sure people are aware, and don't end up waiting on me by mistake.

DM Kludde |

Thanks for the head's up. Could you post your PFS#, in case we're finished by then?

Taking another look, I see that Cypher 2 is REALLY, REALLY close. If I assume there's a typo, it is dead on. It translates perfectly, except that one character is, well one position in the alphabet off from correctly making a word . . ..
"Has the bell of obecience"

DM Kludde |

I am, by the way, taking that answer up as the correct one. I guess the sneaky Taldans simply replaced a letter to make the cypher harder to crack ;-)

![]() |

That seems really close to an answer to me.
Say, since you all seem like good blokes, I thought I'd put a plug in for the site where I do the majority of my PBPing. We have a few games still looking for players for the PbP gameday:

Thanks DM Kludde good as always. Not my type of adventure but you ran it well.
