Move Action
Nuo moves forward, ensuring that Qiang can step anywhere in the room and still be in close connection with her.

Standard Action
She shares a look with Qiang and points to Aiden. Qiang acknowledges.
Readied action to cast Cure Light Wounds as Qiang passes by Aiden so Qiang can touch him.

Double Move
Qiang realizes the tight quarters and decides a different approach. He starts to climb the stairs...

Immediate Action
As he passes by Aiden, Nuo's spell goes off and Aiden is healed.
Cure Light Wounds (Aiden): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 - Great...

Continued Double Move
He continues, phasing through the walls of the room using Phase Lurch and ending up in a totally different room, ready to jump in if needed. A silvery mucus coats the northern wall where he phases through, though it start to quickly decay. Taking the long way around and phrasing through the top room then the middle room, so that he stays out of reach of the enlarged enemy.

Phase Lurch:
A phantom in ectoplasmic form has the ability to pass through walls or material obstacles. In order to use this ability, it must begin and end its turn outside whatever wall or obstacle it’s moving through. An ectoplasmic phantom can’t move through corporeal creatures with this ability, and its movement speed is halved while moving through a wall or obstacle. Any surface it moves through is coated with a thin, silvery mucus that lingers for 1 minute.

While Aiden's throw is clumsy, the hellknight is clumsier, and ends up being covered in rapidly hardening resin.

I saw no indication of that (and it makes little sense, since it doesn't look like she could fit on the upper level if so). That's not entirely fair, I would have done things differently had I known. Also, why/how, in that case, can the skeleton reach her but not me?

You are correct, I did not put a height indicator, and I apologize if that lead you to believe that the hellknight on the balustrade was on the library floor. However, it was, as can be inferred by the post in which it tries to help the now unconscious signifier. It is occupying a space that is half it's size, thus it is squeezing, taking a hefty penalty to AC and Dex, but it can nonetheless occupy the two out of four squares it would normally need. I suppose I could have reshaped the token, but I assumed that would have lead to more questions rather than clarify the situation. Your skeleton, I assumed, was using the stairs to get up to the hellknight, as have all of your fellow party members. But I see that you have moved it in a way that makes little sense; it used to be on the stairs besides Djorn. I am sorry for the misunderstanding, but at this point you should reconsider your action, and I will say that the skeleton managed to open the door and place itself in the doorframe adjacent to the hellknight so that its attacks make sense (as they had, up to this point, been in line with my expectations and what the rest of the party was doing/ how they appeared to understand the layout.

The hellknight heaves one last time, attempting to deliver a final blow to Djorn.

Greataxe vs Djorn: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 4 = 18
Damage: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5) + 6 = 18

Djorn manages to hastily parry the blow with his shield. And not a moment too soon, given it's trajectory. And with that, the hellknight collapses onto the ground, bleeding out.

The pathfinders collect themselves and their thoughts. Looking about, there is no trace of their fellow historian Zefiro. Not in the library, and not in the small office, lined with further bookshelves and display cases, that lies through the door.

Party's Perception:

Nectanebo: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Djorn: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Qiang: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Waki: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Esh: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

As the group makes their way in, they hear sounds coming from outside; cries of alarm, calls for the dottari. It looks like the Pathfinder Society's welcome in Cheliax has worn itself out. However, Djorn manages to keep his cool, and as he looks up from searching through the oaken desk in the center of the office, he notices the light of the candelabra catch on something metallic on the side of the giant portrait of Abrogail II; a secret door, leading into a smaller room crammed with books, a small desk, a display case and a small statue to the Last of the First men: Aroden. It is filled with text that are now considered heretical, and certainly texts that would be burned today by the hellknight order of the Rack: Infernal war crimes committed by house Thrune, an Aspis Consortium cargo manifest from Taldor to Khari, and a great many Arodenite scriptures.

While this is a bounty of information, the question remains: what do the Pathfinders save?

A Perception check, DC 20, will allow you to determine which books are critical, and which books are likely to escape the truth pyres. Anyone interested in bringing back any part of this trove should roll. The next post will be the conclusion to this scenario.

While Djorn is not as fanatical about knowledge as other members of the Pathfinder Society, he still knows what will happen to this material when it is found and he finds burning books to be wasteful. He's also developed more than a little dislike for Cheliax so if he black their eye by sneaking something out from under their noses, so much the better.

Thanks to Nuo and Aiden's attention to detail, the group can pick up a number of crucial books that would not survive an investigation by the order of the Rack. And without waiting for further trouble, the Pathfinders slip aboard their ship, the Sea Sylph, dodging groups of dottari and hellknights more preoccupied with trouble within than ships in the harbor.

It is another week's worth of travel before you find yourself in Absalom's Foreign quarter, approaching the Grand Lodge's main building: the tower of Skyreach. After a summary debrief with Master of Swords Marcos Farabellus, the man begins a heavily profanity-laced diatribe that ends with a summons for the Chelish liaison to the Society to come to the meeting room immediately. However, you are all informed that Lady Alazario has returned to the Chelish mainland for "urgent affairs of state". Which elicits another profanity-laced tirade from Farabellus.

"Alright. They want to play? Let's play. Take a rest Pathfinders, and get yourselves ready. Next time we meet, you'll be heading to Cheliax."
