Male Tiefling Magus/Rogue 5

Drelsh blinks his weary eyes, wiping some sweat from his brow with his free hand while he holds down the struggling child. He reaches back down, pulling out the last of the porcupine quills from his foot and begins wrapping it up. After the bandages are finished he finally takes his arm of the child's leg. "There, next time think before you go messing with wild animals." He watches the red faced child exit to his waiting mother, raising a hand in acknowledgement of her grateful smile. As the door closes he grunts, grabbing his knotted walking cane and standing up, going outside to meet the day.

Drelsh lets the morning sun soak into his face, one of the few things in his life that still makes him smile. He sits there for several moments as he sips a cup of coffee. How that boy managed to find a porcupine this early in the day is beyond me. After making sure there were no other last-minute patients he limps to his side door, flipping over the sign on it to show Closed. He grabs the spear leaning against the wall, strapping it to his pack and slowly making his way to the barracks.

Along the way he greets many of the citizens, most of them saying something along the lines of "Morning Doc!" but a few actually knowing him by name. Drelsh settles for an acknowledging wave or grunt for most of them, occasionally asking how somebody that he treated is doing. Finally he finds himself at the barracks, entering slowly through the heavy front door and mumbling to himself about the rusty door hinge that makes it so hard to open. He sits down and beings leafing through a book, waiting for his squad to arrive.

Breggel checks the forge once again, making sure the fire is properly dimmed and all his tools are back in their correct place.

"Come on Ulan, we are going to be late for Militia training."

He gives the little shrine to Torag a quick bow, then gathers up his warhammer and waits at the door for his brother.

Bryn is up early helping his younger brothers fill the workshops big wooden tubs with the clay that his parents and grandfather will use during the day. When they finish he washs as best he can and puts on one of his cleaner shirts and the studded leather armor they gave him to where while on militia duty. taking his pack and short spear he reports in at the militia barracks.

Ulan gives his brother a mild smirk.
"Aye aye, I'm coming." the dwarf replies as he wipes some of the grime from his hands. As he walks over to join Breggel, he pauses only to give a very brief prayer to Torag before hefting his own warhammer onto his shoulder.

"All ready, Breggel? You don't need another hour to comb your beard?" Ulan comments with a broad grin.

It was a good-hearted rivalry Ulan had with his older brother. Being the eldest, Breggel was expected to take charge when circumstances warranted it. Such a thing was expected from any dwarf and it didn't bother Ulan. Still, he enjoyed goading his older brother from time to time, and the opportunity to improve their martial training had put him in a good mood.

He had not been looking forward to this day.

Of course, Lambert rarely looked forward to any days that provided a disruption in the otherwise rigid routine that was his daily life. But militia duty was its own special case. Three days of boredom, month in and month out. How anyone chose to make a career of it was beyond him.

He had lingered in his small home for as long as he could manage, hoping that perhaps some miracle would appear from down the lane, forever releasing him from the monthly inconvenience. As always, no miracle came, and so Lambert had no choice but to report to the barracks, dragging his small bundle of supplies and neccesary gear with him.

As he pushed aside the heavy door, Lambert offered a mumbling incoherent... well. It was close enough to a greeting that it could be passed off as one. He then found a reasonable enough spot along the wall to toss his things and lean up against it himself. Gods be good, let these three days pass by quickly...

Male Dwarf Cleric (Forgemaster). 2; Init +0; AC 17; hp 21/21; Fort +6, Ref +0, Will +5; Perc +6

"Ugh! Human weapons? Torag forbid!"
The two laugh and share a few more jokes as they head towards the barracks.

The Exchange

Aldras Vayne went to bed on time, unlike most days, because he wanted to be on time for his militia duty.

He eats a small breakfast before putting on his militia gear. "I am off to do my civic duties., he says to his father before heading out the door and towards the barracks.

On the way there he greets the other citizens already out and about at this early hour.

"Reporting for duty!", he says while entering the barracks. Looking around he sees the town doctor sitting at one of the tables.
Aldras goes over to him and takes one of the free chairs. "Morning doc, are you joining us for militia duty on this fine morning?"

The Militia barracks are luckily not far from Bryn's home in the Rivermen's Quarter, so Bryn arrives in good time despite needing to do chores before hand. Bryn finds an older man and a few other young men already at the Barracks.
Good morning everyonehe says. He sets down his pack but keeps the three foot spear in his hands. does anyone know what we are doing today?

Mike rustled out of bed in his room at the happy cow. "Another 3 days of city life." He grumbled as he got his gear together and made his way into the streets using his spear as a walking stick. His mood only worsened when he realized he didn't know any of the faces in this months sqaud.

"Morning everyone." He said to those present trying his best to sound like he is in a good mood. "Who are we checking in with?"

Breggel and his brother arrive at the barracks to be greeted by 5 humans waiting there.

"Sorry we are late. Mine brother could not decide which tunic he should wear this morning!", the dwarf says with a laugh and smile.

"I'm Breggel Tokadar and this is my brother Ulan. Well greetings all humans."

His common is somewhat stiff and slightly formal, as if he did not speak the language often, but he speaks clearly and has a deep, rich voice.

Mike turns to the two Dwarfs obviously annoyed. "Only half human actually, but well met."

Male Tiefling Magus/Rogue 5

As the members begin filing in Drelsh finishes his sentence, then closes the book and stows it in his jerkin. He remains sitting, both hands resting on the knotted length of wood in his hands as inspects each member walking in.

Once everybody is there Drelsh clears his throat. "Morning. I'm Drelsh, many of you may know me as Doc. I'm in charge of you lot, so you'll check in with me. I'm ex-military but I'm no officer, so you can call me Doc or Sir, I don't really care which. Beyond simple duty I'm not sure yet if we have any specific job. Also I am aware that some of you are not thrilled to be here." His eyes flick towards Lambert and Mike. "Well that's tough. While you're part of my charge you will be an effective squad. You don't have to smile, you don't have to like it, you don't have to like me, but you're going to respect each other and listen to me. Do I make myself clear?"

"Ah, sorry there lad. No offense meant. Didna notice the ears from down here!", he laughs and offers his hand to show the fellow he meant no slight.

As a professional, Breggel will look over the weapons the group is carrying, and compare them to his own work...he does this with all weapons he comes across...would he use appraise or craft for this?

Male Tiefling Magus/Rogue 5

Breggel, I doubt any of us have anything too crazy. You can see Drelsh's knotted walking cane has seen some use, he carries it with a sense of comfort. You could easily tell he's trained at knocking heads with it.

Male Half-Elf Wizard (Illusionist) 1/Fighter (Archer) 1 [ HP: 20/20 | AC: 13 T: 10 FF: 13 | W: +3 : R+0: F+4| Init: +0 Perc: +6 Low light Vision | Effects: none]

Mike briefly shook Breggel's hand before Drelsh started shouting out like the big man he is. Giving Breggel a quick nod of acceptance he turn to address Drlesh."Doc, right? Yeah your clear." Mike finally drops his pack off his shoulder and loosens them up trying to look intimidating. "You won't need that attitude with me. I want this to be as painless as possible, and if you havn't heard by now my names Mike and i'm reporting for duty from Two Creek Hamlet."

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stone Lord) 1; Init +2; AC 18/12/16; Hp 5/12; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +2; Perc +4

More of a professional thing...I know as a museum professional, I look at the technical underpinnings of a museum when I visit..Breggel is the same...just looking and comparing in case he does come across something special...

Breggel - that would be a craft check, if you want =) Like Doc said, you all have simple weapons. =)

The time is late fall. So far, the winter snows haven’t hit Daggermark, but you know they are on their way.

You are called to muster before Sherlen Spearslayer, the human female militia commander. She is wearing chainmail, with a shield slung on her back, and carries her namesake magical spear. She is confident and walks lightly among your squad. ”We need you to do some road guard duty today,” she says. ”A messenger from Waterdeep tells us that there is one last caravan coming down before the snows come. Waterdeep troops are going to meet the caravan on the road – I want you to go south along the Trade Way to The Way Inn and make sure things are safe for a caravan. Basically, you are an advance scouting party.”

”Take it easy, avoid fights if at all possible, and come back as soon as you can after reaching The Way Inn with a report of the conditions, including anything the folks at The Way Inn can tell you about conditions further on. Any questions?”

When the Dwarves arrive Bryn greets them as well.

yes sir. Bryn says in response to the question. One things sir, would it be possible for me to get another couple of shortspears? Bryn asks holding up the three foot weapon. or a long spear if there is one available?

The Exchange

Before being called to muster before Sherlen Spearslayer, Aldras greets everyone. "I'm Aldras Vayne and I'm looking forward to working with you all."

I'm not sure about this, but do we only get the shortspear & armor from the militia. Or do we also get the other simple weapon we got proficient with in militia training?

After the commander is done talking.
"No questions from me commander! I'm glad we can be of service to the community in this manner."

Aldras will then wait for orders from the commander or Drelsh and if none are given will follow Drelsh and the others outside if that is what they'll do.

"Mm," Lambert's lack of a proper response was accompanied with a small nod at Doc's speech. Right, yeah. He could work with that. He did not, however, proceed to offer any verbal responses beyond that. Instead he gazed at the others' conversations with a veiled disinterest, more out of a lack of anything else to do than genuine curiosity.

When called into line, Lambert does as he is instructed... More or less. His form and posture leaves much to be desired, as he slouches against his simple spear. He pulls a bit of a face at Sherlen's speech, but remains characteristically quiet. He simply shakes his head at the inquiry for questions.

Male Tiefling Magus/Rogue 5

"I can't provide any more weapons than what you already have. Make due with it or ask one of the dwarven brothers to make you something."

Sherlen's entrance makes Drelsh finally stand, him being the last in line as he limps over. As he passes Lambert he raps him sharply on the knee with his quarterstaff, giving him a stern look as if to say stand up strait.

"No ma'am. Seems pretty straightforward."

GM rolls:

You spend the first day riding south along the Trade Way. The traffic is relatively sparse. You meet a few farmers who are making use of the still mild weather to make final trips to town to get supplies for the winter to come.

Finally, you reach Liam’s Hold, a small village of perhaps 50 residents. The village is guarded by a fortified tower built a centurey ago. The tower is now part of the inn that is often patronized by passing caravans. Near the tower is an extensive field for caravans to park wagons.

The inn is small compared to The Happy Cow back in Daggermark, but it is clean and cozy. A middle-aged male stands behind the bar, pouring drinks for the handful of customers. He looks up when you enter. ”Hail, travelers. Ye have the look of Daggermark’s militia about ye…What brings you to my humble inn this eve?”

Bryn lets Drelsh do the talking for the squad, but looks around with interest. He has never been to Liam's Hold before. He has been futher from home before but that was traveling the river looking for quality clay deposits with his father and they didn't see anything but riverbank.

Drelsh limps his way forward, giving the man a hearty shake. "Well met. You're right, we are militia from Daggermark, and that's what brings us. How fare the conditions ahead?"

The Exchange

While Drelsh and the innkeeper are talking, Aldras checks out the inn's patrons. Mostly looking if there are any that seem a bit out of place.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Your group notices nothing out of the ordinary, except Aldras, who can't help but stare at one patron in the inn. Is that a man or a woman? Dressed like a man. Pretty like a woman. Neck like a man. Hands like a woman. Eyes like a man. Lips like a woman. Nice perception roll, there, Aldi! :p

The innkeeper shakes Drelsh's hand with the firm strength of a man who is used to physical labor and breaking up the occasional tussle between other strong men. "The roads seem to be good and clear. Had a handful of folk pass through and got no reports nor rumors of trouble. Sure there's the occasional pack of wolves prowling about, but nuthin' you lot can't handle!"

If I keep rolling like I did, we're in for a rough ride ;)

"Doc, not to butt in, but would you mind if we first have some dinner before we go out hunting those wolves? We have been on the road all day, we could use something to strengthen us."

And then I can maybe get a better look at that patron. Really wonder what I'm missing, not sure if I should mention it later ... Aldras thinks while speaking to Drelsh.

Male Tiefling Magus/Rogue 5

"I do not intend to run us during the night, it would be dangerous and ignorant."

Finishing his inspection of the stone tower, Breggel wanders over to the table that Aldras is sitting after ordering whatever passes for beer at this establishment.
"We did not get much time to meet before we left. I am Breggel Tokadar, weaponsmith and ironworker. That other dwarf is my brother, Ulan, best armourer in the district."

The Exchange

"Nice to meet you Breggel. I am Aldras Vayne, son of Merryc Vayne. We make the best musical instruments in the area. I do prefer to play them rather then making them.", Aldras says while pointing at the lute strapped to his backpack.

"But if I ever find myself in need of a good weapon, now I know where to go."

The innkeeper perks up at Aldras when he hears him talking about playing. "Are ya any good with tha' lute? An inn can always use some nice music - helps the drinks go down, ya know! As for the wolve, I dinna say they was a problem as such - always have wolves prowling about, and folks round here know how to handle them. Ain't you never spent time outside those city walls?"

"But where are my manners as your host? We have a long standing partnership with the Daggermark militia. Your room and meals are reimbursed by the city, but more than a couple ales and its on you to cover 'em. Neither food nor rooms are fancy, but a sight better than the trail rations you carry and sleeping in a tent on this chilly night!" He brings out a large bowl of stew for each of you, two big loaves or dark bread and a small wheel of cheese, and a mug of ale or hard cider.

I've found there are a few rare and magical places that will relax you, rejuvenate you, and let you talk about anything. The dinner table. A campfire. The Happy Cow Tavern in Daggermark.

Welcome to the tavern! This is the place to interact with the rest of the townsfolk when you're not at home or working. So come on in, pull up a stool or join the bench, order a nice, cold adult beverage and maybe partake of the venison stew or spicy fish chowdah. Abigail over there will take your order in a moment.

Enjoy!

There's booze at the Dancing Whip too, of course, but Zinny don't drink when she's at the Whip. Sets a bad example, and all. Nosir, when she wants a pint it's the Cow for her, at least, once she's washed the windows and checked the barrels in the cellar and nailed down that board that's loose on the girls' dancin' stage and dusted the chan-dell-eer her mother ordered special all the way from The Big City.

(Dusting the chan-dell-eer is a very careful process, because Momma always says she's a little clumsy, so Zinny stands at the top of the ladder and holds her breath as she wipes the feather duster carefully over each and every little prism of pretty cut glass.)

Anyway, when that's all done, Zinny can hang her apron on the door, prop up her stick behind the counter, and lock the door before heading over to the Cow.

At the Cow she uses a copper someone had tipped her earlier in the evening to buy an ale, and takes a table out of the way, where she can put her feet up on the opposite chair and watch all the other people of home, smiling and nodding to the ones she knows.

M Human

Jerry glances up and nods to Zinny, then seems to return his attention to his ale. He can't help but smile when she puts her feet up on the chair and a sigh escapes her lips. Jerry knows that sound, and the look when someone who has worked hard all of their lives finally gets a chance to relax. Then Jerry lifts his mug in salute to Zinny and gives her a smile and a knowing wink.

"Here's to the working class..."

Abigail bustles by like a hummingbird, all smiles despite her exhausted demeanor, and slides the tall mug across the table to Zinny. "Hey sweetie!" she says, almost sings, and is halfway across the room in the blink of an eye. Hefting a plate of pitchers and mugs over her shoulder like it's an anvil doesn't stifle her bubbly demeanor, and before long she's gravitated by Zinny's table again to ask her how she is-- and then, immediately disappear back into the kitchen, called by the owner's brusque voice. "Be right back!"

She is literally right back within seconds, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "Beat anyone up today?" she asks with a cheerful smile.

Spotting Zinny and Jerry off to the side, he heads in their direction.
"Hia Muss. Zinny. Evning Sir Jerry. Might Muss. Valeria be around?" He glances around hopefully.
"Nermind then" he sounds almost disappointed.
Sitting down across Jerry, chair creaking under his weight, he addresses Jerry "I hears your fence broke the otha day. You loose any o dem hogs you got there? You know, if youse needs a hand fixn it up good, I could be tha nebourly fella an give ya dat hand. I gots plenty o lumba too."
Abigail zips back over to the table "Thirsty big fella?"
"Oh fer shur! An ello to you too Muss. Abigail! I'lla have a mug o ale there." He nods solemnly "Better make it two!"
"Coming right up!" and with that she is gone in a flash.
Not 5 seconds later she is back with a platter with 2 big frothing ales on it. "There you are! Enjoy!"
As he takes a big swig of the first ale the owner can be heard calling again.
"Sorry gotta go!" and again Abigail disappears from sight.
"Ahhhh..." He sighs, setting the already half empty mug down and just relaxes, letting it soak in.

I wanted him to sound big and deep, so I used [/bigger][I] font. What do you guys think? Is it easy enough to read?

After a long day with little to do Ginley decides to close early, he goes into his basement to blow some steam off and then heads to the Cow. He stops at the entrance, letting his eyes adjust to the dimness. Doc smiles when he sees Jerry. He knows Jerry always stops at The Cow when he is in town but thats not very often. The fact that Dic didnt see him today is a good thing, you never go see the apothecary when all is well.

Good to see you Jerry, How's Wilbur? That man and his pig. Why dont he just get a dog, surely they are cleaner and smarter. Odd fellow but a good one anyway that Jerry

Doc sits on a stool at the bar, its better for the posture. He talks briefly with Abi in between her serving the others as well, she really knows how to make someone feel welcomed.

Hi Abi, yeah the usual. No shes with the kids today. They are fine, Lily started teething. It goes on.

Meanwhile Doc tries not to cross eyes with Zinny, its nothing personal really. Shes just an awkward child. She seems nice enough but the only time Doc sees her is when he's putting stitches on her. So when they do eventually meet gazes he just smiles politely and turn away hoping not to offend.

Jerry enjoys his times in town. He used to only come in for the monthly MarketDay, but Jerry decided to move closer a few months ago. Now his hogs are fresher for MarketDay, and he can get supplies when he needs them and keep everything in better shape.

Seeing the Doc, Jerry replies, "Ahh, Wilbur's good. Strangest thing, that hog. Follows me around everywhere like it actually knows me. But he sure is a terrific pig, he is!"

Zinny bobs her head at Jerry with a sheepish smile. "Yessir," she says. (He's older than her, Momma's taught her manners, you say 'sir'.) 'Sides, she likes Jerry. He's always been nice to her and when she was just a little girl and found that tiny stray kitten he'd told her how to keep the little thing warm, and how to feed it milk from a bottle. Now Mittens lived a happy life in the cellar eatin' the mice, but Jerry'd been kind to her and the kitten, and Zinny don't forget.

Another shy smile at Abigail when the cheerful woman swings by like a pretty hummin-bird. "'m doin' alright. Ain't nobody caused trouble 'cept me when I about slipped from the ladder. Momma would yelled a streak, you'd-a heard her over here if I had. You been busy today?"

She likes Abby too-- it's hard not to, everyone likes Abby on account she's so friendly and pretty and all. Zinny sometimes wishes she could just talk to folk so easy the way Abby does, but, well, some folk's for talkin' and some folks are for haulin' barrels an' all.

Balmy comes on in and Zinny siiinks down a bit in her seat, cheeks coloring a little at the sight of the tall young lumberjack. She squeaks back a 'hello' half into her ale. 'course he wants to talk to Valeria, well, she don't blame him none. If she was him she reckons she'd want to talk to Valeria too. But mercy, he's a nice big fella. Ain't that many menfolk what're taller than her.

Doc comes on in a bit later and Zinny gives him a very respecktful nod, though she doesn't offer any greeting either. 'Bout every time Doc has to come by, Momma says to her later, "Now Zinny, I want men to come here to SPEND money, not to take it as fee for stitching you up. Can't you be more careful, darling?"

Well, she tries, but sometimes it's tricky. Zinny scratches at her nose and lets the conversation wash over her until she thinks of something to say; when she does, she brightens and looks for Jerry again.

"Hey Mister Jerry! I think Mitts is pregnant!"

The tavern door starts to open, a soft pressure induced creak coming from the door handle on the other side. Most of the usual patrons know who it is before he is visible by that sound alone.

The door only opens slightly, just enough to allow the big mans head to peer inside, scanning the establishment for that one person he hopes is not here tonight. Everyone knows who, but even if they didnt, the man confirms it with a voice too timid for his body, made so by the one man he fears.

"Papa? Is u in here?"

A moment with no reply is all the encouragement he needs. Pushing the door fully open, Hugo Smith strides inside, a smile on his dull witted face and a deep hum in his throat. A rather large gash adorns his forehead, long streaks of already drying blood running down his face. Taking a moment to wave and nod a greeting to everyone, he finally heads to the bar, grabbing two stools to sit on. Even with their partnered effort, the chairs sigh a collective groan as he eases his mass down upon them.

"'Ey Doc, yous tink yous got time fer a little work before dem beers?"

He points at the obvious head injury as if the Doc needed any hint.

"'it ma 'ead on da door frame again, silly me" he says, a bit loudly, while leaning his head over his shoulder to let his voice carry around the tavern room. Hugo never was any good at lying, but what few people had the guts to, didnt have the heart to tell him.

He hadnt hit his head on the door. More than likely he had tripped and slammed it into a tree during his weapons training in the woods. All of town knew about his shadow boxing exploits. More than likely his father was the only one who didnt.

He was about to say more to add to the believability of his lie, when Abi came fluttering up to him behind the bar, asking if it would be the usual. His eyes were suddenly very interested in the floor, his hands fidgeting with the frayed corners of his blacksmiths appron.

"'Ey Abi...Ya dats fine"

Yes, Hugo sure wasnt good at lying or keeping secrets. Everyone knew what he did in the woods, how he hit his head, and which of the girls in town he fancied the most.

Doc starts eating when he hears Hugo come in. He turns around in his seat just to give a friendly wave but when he sees Hugo's gash and the blood trickling down his neck and soaking up into his shirt, he stops mid-wave.

And just when I was about to eat, inconceivable

Hugo! What happened to you? Allright come here, get on your knees while I take a look. Abi im going to need to disinfect this, something strong like gin or vodka if you please.

Doc pours the strong liquor on the gash and Hugo starts wriggling in pain

Oh Hugo its not that bad, stop squirming. A door frame you say? Must have been a fresh one He mutters that last bit to himself as he picks a bit of bark from the gash

Doc applies a rag to Hugo's head and holds it firm

Keep the pressure on while i go get my stitching kit. Doc turns to go and then turns back Look I hate to bring this up now but... am I billing you or your father for this? Its uh' no rush you can pay me when you come get the stitches removed. And with that said he is out the door.

Eves entry does not go unnoticed by the blacksmiths son, the hulking man turning his head to leer at the young girl. His face retains the same blank expression, but as his hand crushes the glass hes holding, its clear hes more than a little excited.

Several long seconds pass before he absentmindedly glances at his clenched fist, the appendage now dripping blood, ale and shards of glass. His eyes start to wander back towards Eve, before snapping back to the hand as his brain catches up.

"Awh, I wus gunna drink dat!"

He brushes his hand, alot of the glass shards raining down onto the counter, but a fair few are pushed further into the cuts, causing them to bleed profusely. He tries to dig them free, but his thick calloused fingers prove ill suited for the task. Looking at Abi with a shy half smile, he rubs his neck with his good hand.

Is no good, fingers too fat! U got an ideas?"

He extends the hand towards her for inspection.

Thankfully, Urban Barbarians get diplomacy as a class skill. So while Hugos charisma makes him rather socially inept, I like to think that the Diplomacy accounts for the "lovable oaf" aspect of the character.

On the subject of appearances, Hugo isnt "ugly" as such, but his average looks arent helped by his monstrous size, which turns what would pass for "rugged" on a smaller man, into "crude" on Hugo. That blank stare of his doesnt help much either.

Im not usually one to specify a "sub race" when I go human, but Ulfen would probably fit best

Btw im playing him as not really knowing who Eve is. The age difference and her lifestyle means hes likely had very little opportunity to run into her. As for the leering, he would probably restrain himself if he knew her age, but like most, when he sees a full figured 6 foot 6 woman, his first thought isnt "I bet thats a teenager"

"Full figured woman" in human terms is in their prime (age 20-30) as teens are less developed.
Female Human height tends to flat line between 18 to 20 and then it's just a bit more filling out in the fat deposits for a few more years

Then again in medieval society you were an adult when you turned 13.

Eve is a local, but lives about a 30 to 45 minute walk from town.
She's a hunter, guide and in a way scavenger, and comes into town every so often.

Ohhh! Lots posted over the last day!
"Ohhh! Bacon for me? You gots youse a deal Sir. Jerry!" He turns back to his mug muttering to himself about what he would need and how best to accomplish his new task.

"O rilly? Well if youse needs help wit dat jus give me a holla, cause I gots good ears, an illa be commin right ova ta give ya a hand. Tho not ma left one, I need tha one still..." he trails off, completely absorbed in contemplating being handless, so much so he forgot about his 1 1/2 beers for a good 5 minutes.

Just then, Hugo pops his head in the door, asking about his papa again. Spotting the big brute he waves and hollers over "HEYA BUDDY! Hugo was probably the only guy that Balmahut didnt use honorifics with, sharing a bit of a kinship with the big guy, he remembered wrestling with him a ways back. Hugo was a bit stronger but Balmahut was faster. They also shared a comparable mental capacity. Yet Balmahut figured he had the upper hand there. His left one anyways, his right he was giving to the good Doc...
Giving up before smoke could come out of his ears, he got up, grabbed his mugs and went over to sit with his friend, leaving room for the good Doc to do his work. With a heavy sigh and another swig of his beer he sat down while Abigail came and took Hugos order.
As she whisked away and with a nudge he leaned over and whispered into Hugos ear "Dat Muss. Abigail sure is purdy aint she?"
Returning to his ale with a chuckle he heard someone behind him and almost choked on his ale.
"Why do I keep forgetting to duck in the Happy Cow Tavern's doorway."
Hacking and coughing and turning red from the sound of Eve entering the tavern he sputtered "Its tha al...Koff! Koff! Tha ale. Its Hurm stuck in ma throat. Sputter" Keeping his head forward and down.
After settling down a bit he hears Hugos glass shatter beside him. Glancing up he is amused at Hugos lack of reflexes and watches him slowly take stock of his current situation.
"Awh, I wus gunna drink dat!"
"Here. Ise gots two, you canna have one o' dem." Handing him the full mug, he hollers for Abigail "Muss. ABIGAIL!"
She comes over and sees Hugos hand. Having momentarily forgotten about Eve, the though rushed back into his mind and he once again turned red, staring into the bottom of his mostly finished ale. Noticing this Abigail chided him
"And whats wrong with you? Ale make you sick?

Like 2 peas in a pod. Seriously, the two characters are almost identical. I also like how we are playing 10s and 12s like its borderline stupid ^-^

Abby rolls her eyes at Balma and turns back to Hugo, who is bleeding on her floor. She clucks her tongue at Hugo's mess of a hand and says "Oh, sweetie, you know that those cost money, right? Who gave you the glass one?" she asks, and shoots a death glare to one of the new serving girls behind the bar who shrugs and says silently I didn't know!

Abby begins to pick the pieces of glass out of Hugo's hand with her fingers, humming quietly as she goes along, patting him and saying "There there" if it hurts. She wraps it in a bar rag for lack of any kind of first aid available. When she's finished, she turns over Hugo's hand, smiles and says "Close your eyes!" She touches the necklace hanging around her neck, prays for a moment and then turns it over. Miraculously, the wounds are missing. "All better."

She pats him on the arm, sets his hand down on the bar next to the iron stein, smiles, and buzzes away. She looks up at Eve and laughs in wonderment. "Everyone's so tall today! Afternoon, or evening, or just hello!"

Without stopping, she quickly runs into the next person's post, no doubt getting them food of some kind!

"Oh, Hi Abby. I got that wild garlic, ginger root and water lily pedals you asked for."

Eve is tall due to her real father being an Ulfen, and Since Changelings take after there father's race in appearance, height should be factored in and Ulfen are freaking tall.
Ulfen Men START at 6 feet, with the women starting a few inches shorter.
That and changelings in there worded description are "Tall" and does not match the random table in the ARG

The Average Human male height is just short of 6 Feet and to let people know why she's that tall, I include the human sub race as each one has different heights.

As for Eves size, she has the Hag trait "Hulking"

At Balmas greeting, Hugo simply grunts in acknowledgement. Balma was a friendly enough sort and a fine friend, but when they were around eachother in high spirits, things tended to start breaking in their vicinity. Best to keep it low key tonight he thought.

At Balmas comment about Abi, Hugo stares into space for a second, blinking in wonderment at Balmas words.

Why is yous lookin at Abi?!! She dun even like you! He thought, and was about to say, as he turned to start strangling Balma who was distracted by Eve at the door. Then he saw her too.

After the breaking of his glass, as Abi tends to his hand be realizes that staring at Eve like that wasnt really proper.

Sorry... he says, Abi accepting the apology, likely without realizing he isnt talking about the broken glass.

I buy stuff when it's on sale, and it's currently Sneek peek weekend so alot of stuff is on sale, and if you get over $25 of Daz 3D made content you get some more off

If your looking at getting started I would recommend either a Micheal or Stephanie or Victoria 5 Pro bundle or the Genesis Starter Bundle

Goblin Gunslinger "Ziggs"

Lol I just realized that was a link! I take it you are Killbarian and I am Hulkstrong the Strong (why is my hair pink o.O)? Actually they fit quite nice, your bigger, I shoot things, you stab them, we both got the "smarts"

Male Human Barbarian 2 (Urban), Fighter 2
Stats:
HP: 41, Initiative: +2, Perception: +8, Sense Motive: +1, AC: 21 (T: 12, FF: 19), CMD: 20, Fort: 8, Refl: 2, Will: 5

Kelgarr of Kelgarria

Hogstrong LeStrong

And yes, its quite uncanny. As for the pink hair, they are walking 80s rock parodies :P

Goblin Gunslinger "Ziggs"

Nice! I like it a lot. Now all it needs is a checkered red and black vest and its perfect!

....

can't do checkered shirt or vest as all the content is prepackaged hence how I got the render done quickly

Ah, pitty. It looks epic anyways! Thanks for it.

it can be done, but it would require making a new texture from a UV templete and a great amount of time and, trial and error.

Err...Is this a roleplay thread? Or a gameplay thread? Or is it actually a Discussion thread?

Intended to be a role-play thread, with game-play discussion when needed.

Speaking of game-play, please check in on the gameplay thread so i know you have it. I was starting to think you had bailed on us!

RP and Discussion thread I think

Grand Lodge

Female Human Cleric 3; HP 21/21, AC 17, touch 13, flat-footed 14; Fort +3, Ref +3, Will +5; Perception +2, Initiative +6

Hoping that picking up that rapier is alright. I just thought it was kind of neat when I realized I had rapier proficiency from being a cleric of Cayden Cailean, and I had a really good story thought to go along with. I went and subtracted 15gp from my "life savings" retroactively-- she probably doesn't make that much to begin with.

Warpriest 1 HP:9/9 AC:16:12:14 Saves:3:2:5 Init: +2 Skills: Dip +5, Per +7, Sense +5, Stealth +2

Anyone else want a render?

F Human Fighter 4 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | HP 31/35 | F +5 R +2 W +2 | Init +1 | Perc +2

I really like the rapier and the RP you justified it with. :) 'course I'm not the GM, heeh.

Thanks for the offer with the render! I'm working on my own doodles of Zinny. :P

How I currently see Zinny
A quick rough draft version

And A quick Note about my RP style is that I'll next to never control an NPC's actions or words.
